3.5.

This was the third book about Holmes for me. I feel tired from same kind of stories... but the second story “The Five Orange Pips” included Ku Klux Klan as criminal, so it was thrilling a bit. Since it’s a Level 4 book, I feel my reading skill is uplifted after finishing this!

2. 4/30 30min 5/2 30min 5/5 30min
3. mystery, woman, stepfather, "the speckled band", whistle, Dr Roylott, the deadliest snake

4.
"The Speckled Band!"
One day a woman came up to sherlock Holmes, the main character. Weird things have been happening to the woman since she lived with her sister and their stepfather. After her sister decided to marry, she suddenly shrieked out, ‘The Speckled Band!’ and she died suddenly. After her sister died, the woman hear anyone whistle in the dead of the night. Sherlock Holmes start a criminal search to protect her.

5.This story made me excited. The impact of the trick is extremely strong and is the story that is unforgettable after reading it once. In the reality, this trick seemed to be said not to be able to be established, but thought that still it was an enough persuasive killing method.

PENGUIN READERS, level 4
-time: 120 minutes
-7 words summary: Sherlock Holmes, mystery, orange, thief, diamond, clever :

1. if you take a large amount of jewelry instead of money, where would you hide?
- Maybe I hide the locker
at the station
or under the floor in my home! But I do not want to take a lot of jewelry.

2. If you are doubted a thief by your parents, how would you feel?
-I would be very sad and I try to explain that I am innocence.

This book is consisted of three stories and I like the Crown of Diamond best! I like Sherlock Holmes's series. I want to work as a detective such as Sherlock Holmes. To infer something sounds like interesting!

After reading this book, I started to like detective stories similar to this book especially lead by Sherlock Holmes. Through the three adventures in the book, I know the character of Sherlock and Watson and how they handle cases in the best and interesting way. This book is also one of my favorite books and I also really appreciate the author because he is really creative to wrote three adventures that can make you can't stop reading and think how does Sherlock and Watson can successfully help the police and their client.

This book is about three examples cases that Sherlock Holmes had solved, The speckled band, the five orange pips , and the crown of diamonds. In these three stories, the first one is a young woman who is killed of a mysterious speckled band. The second one is a family who believe five orange pips represent a sign of death. And at last a man who work in the bank think that his son is a theif. These three stories although is little bit scary, but I also like it. This book might worth to read it.

this book is very interesting , it makes you want to know about the ending immedietly, once you start a page you never want to put its down again, but once you finish the book and start to reread it , it will be very boring.

Even though this book makes you feel adventurous , there are some points that are really unclear, like when Sherlock goes out to investigate the case and comes back home at night and magically solved the case.

This book is very interesting, it's about Sherlock Holmes solving The Speckled Band, The Five Orange Pips and The Crown Of Diamonds Cases. Many people ask Sherlock to solve mysteries, but he didn't solve all of them. The Five Orange Pips is my favourite story, which is solved my someone else than the antagonist.

this story is also mysterious, this talk about the famous detective Sherlock Holmes help find out the turth of the cases. He is famous because he can solve a lot of the cases. He is so clever and quite old school. how diificult the cases are, he might solve it. Sherlock Holmes is awsome. but there is still a few cases that he couldn't solve and this book is the case.

The author of this book may be very smart, because he could make the readers more curious. I recommend this book to teenagers and adults who is interested in crimes and mystery types of books. Sherlock Holmes is better in solving crimes than the police. There are three chapters in this book, they are all very good.

An outstanding material to introduce Sherlock Holmes' stories to students. The book indicates intermidiate levels but I strongly believe that we can manage to work with this book in all levels, depending on the content we want to emphasize. I'll look for more Penguin Active Readings.

One of the things I like Sherlock Holmes's stories is unhappy endings. Although how clever and great he is, things don't go well as he wants.
