D'où la nécessité de présenter une conception, nouvelle dans sa forme, qui offre à la foi le terreau où elle peut s'enraciner.

this is def. his chef d'oeuvre, not only delivers a scathing (and at time quite poetic) critique of modernism but also develops a whole metaphysic. ezly one of the most important theological works of the century.
