Dark Choices: Paradigm Shift (The Children of the Gods Paranormal Romance Series Book 42)- I.T. Lucas

Edna and Rufsur are officially not only lovers but actual mates. This is great news but the complications lead to frustration and what seems to be unreachable solutions. The two try to find a way to have a Kian and Kalugal form an alliance and possibly have Kalugal’s clan move to a protected part of the village. With neither wanting to become too vulnerable , Edna and Rufsur enlist the help of other clan members to try and make them see the benefits of joining forces.
Edna is too important to the clan to move up to Rufsur and he must be close to his leader and best friend to keep his inherited“godly powers” from veering off the right path.
This book is filled with many of the characters and back stories involving both clans with some exciting new developments on the horizon. This series just keeps getting better and better.

That went too fast

I was able to read two consecutively and it was amazing!!! I can’t believe I finished this one today. Now I’m sad again because I have to wait a whole month for the next one.

My new favourite author for paranormal/romance.

Charactersare rich in personality and after book 48 you’d think I’d tire of the characters and story. So far it hasn’t felt like, “this sounds familiar”. The men are men (sizzling hot, sexy and love their mates), and the woman strong, intelligent and might I say sexy as well). The love scenes are ooh la la, honey are you asleep, or the crock pot is now on simmer and waiting to be served HOT. I’m in love with the characters and the story feels real, like you hope to catch the attention of an immortal, if only for one night. The series rates on this scale above 5. It’s not easy to pace myself, to finish one book in time with the new release. I always have to wait for the next release. I haven’t finish a series that extends to book 30. I really like this this story. Thank you IT Lucas, for heating up my sheets and much more.

Now they seem stupid…

It’s not like they didn’t meet Eleanor and realize how tenacious she is and evil. Why would they think her being fired would be the end all be all for her? Nobody thought to track her?

Edna and Rusfur’s story is boring for the simple fact of all the obstacles in the way. Kalugal’s home has been compromised so that should be a simple fix on the debate. Also, his cold hearted response to Rusfur and Edna’s relationship is horrible. He wouldn’t have wanted to be separated from his mate, but he’s forcing it upon Rusfur? But then again, neither of them have admitted to being true love mates, which is the most ridiculous crap in this book series and it happens with almost every freaking new couple. It’s incredibly annoying and skip inducing.

Anyway, see my notes and highlights on Goodreads. Happy reading!

Dark Choices: Paradigm Shift KU 315 pgs **.* 8/14/21 Rufsar & Edna

2.5 stars, Just boring. Really couldn’t get into this book. Mostly about adding to the building plans in the village, talking about Kalugal’s men meeting the clan’s immortal women, Eleanor being sneaky and trying to find out info after Robert took over the Government Paranormal Agency. Kian still doesn’t trust Kalugal which is extremely annoying. Nothing much at all on Lokan and Carol, just a few pop ins with the other characters we love. Rufsar and Edna trying to figure out how to make their relationship work since neither can leave the clan they are with. Very slow read, had to force myself to finish.

Great book. #42

I love this series. He'll, I've been stalking it since book one! Just this one seemed to be just a build up book for #43, which I will ALSO be reading.
What is going on with the cyborgs? What happened to the hints about the other alien/immortals? And the hints about plots #3? Good Lord! You are killing me! I also have no idea why the island dwellers are leaving CA alone. THEIR people only seem to disappear from CA! I am now terrified that everything is going to happen in one book!

paradigm Shift

Edna and Rufsur has been so much fun to read. Rufsur always the sunny happy, life is a field of tulips. Is not so much a budding tulip. He’s angry and he’s not afraid to show it. He feels betrayed slighted by his best friend. He loves Edna and that’s just all there is to it. Well, not so much... Edna loves Rufsur. Great fantastic, hip hip hooray. But hey wait a minute Edna and Rufsur cannot be together nope, nada, not these two. So everyone else finds their mate, party time!! We find each other and what do we get? Find a different female.

Back On The Road to Exciting

These more recent stories seem to be bringing back the excitement:

What's going to happen with Edna and Rufsur? Will they need to settle for a long-distance relationship?

What can we expect from Eleanor? Will she be able to compel any of Kalugal's men? Will she get caught when Jacki and Kalugal return to the mansion?

Will Kalugal and Kian reach any kind of agreement regarding the potential Dormants?

Who is the voice that everybody seems to be hearing in their heads?

Looks like quite a bit of good stuff coming up...

Rufus n Ednas story bk42

As Rufus and Edna fall deeper in love with each other, trouble is brewing behind the scenes in the form of Marisol.
Marisol found information on the other "Paranormals" hidden deep in Simmons work files n folders that nobody else has.

As Marisol infiltrates Kalaguls base while he's away with Jackie n Rufus n Atis. I really hope she doesn't tell anyone else what she finds out before the guys get back. But most of all I really want Edna n Rufus to get their HEA 🙏

Soulmates Obstacles

Like the story of Rusfur and Edna. Their dilemma is very challenging because they are prominent to their clans. I suspect that Elanor's scheme will motivate Kalugal to move his operation. Also, Rusfur's obligation to keep an eye on Kalugal is not necessary because Jacki's influence is strong. Also like that Amanda is pregnant along with Sissy. Kalugal is still my favorite Immortal because he is as Jacki says a "demigod". Awesome story!

Loved it!!!

The love story unfolding between edna and rufsar is soooo sweet!! Probably one of the best in my opinion... other than amanda and dalhu! Love this series, love the way the history of the clan comes one frustrating piece at a time. I am intrigued to see what the future holds for jin and mey with their abnormal fangs, maybe linked to the vision/dream of the similar immortals and the spacecraft?!?! UGH I HAVE TO WAIT A MO TH FOR MORE! 😭😭😭😭

So many twists and turns and directions this series can go. Marisol is back in the picture sure to create havoc wherever she lands. Edna and Rufsur have found each other but are still struggling to find a way to be together. There is a little voice that has been talking to the main players and we can only guess who it is and it’s intentions. I love this series and read each new book as it comes out. I can’t even guess where the storyline will take us next. It’s fantastic!

344 pages and nothing new comes to light. The storyline spans a handful of days. Skipped sooo much while reading. It didn't engage me in any way.
It's ging to take another 42 book to have enough story development for me to be interesting again.
Unfortunately I just have to step back and stop reading the series which is really disappointing when you invested so much time on a series.

Building up to a crescendo

As always, IT Lucas delivers and this book is no exception to the rule. Changes are coming that may become a paradigm shift for the Village and for Kalugal’s crew. The romance is solid, the story is complex and I can’t wait for the next book to see how Rufsur and Edna resolve the seemingly irreconcilable issues keeping them apart.

I.T. Lucas is amazing again

This series just gets better and better! Each journey is just exciting as the last. I love the village is getting bigger! I hope Richard has successfully transition and Edna and Rufsur can be together in the village. I hate waiting for the next book though!

Changes Happening

The changes that the Kian and Kalugal are both so adamantly resisting is occurring whether they like it or not. There is much more to worry about than their
mistrust for each other. How this will aide Edna and Rufus in their quest for a normal relationship I am eager to see.

Always amazing

Ok so I was not liking Eleanor ok I still don’t like her....but if she is going to have a connection with Greggory then I guess I can calm down... gah such suspense just like Simmons.. do I want Kian and Kalugal to join clans hell yes and I can’t wait till they do. So many possibilities

Another good read

This series still seems to have its hooks in my imagination. Many series lose cohesion after 10-15 books unless the author chops them off in odd places or by making them irritatingly short. This one is still going strong after 40+ books and still putting out fresh ideas. Great read.

This series is amazing!

I was so engrossed in this series that I waited until I finished all 42 current books before I wrote a review.. Can't wait until the next installment! I was so obsessed with finding out what happened next to each character that it took me three weeks of straight reading to get through all available books. Well worth reading!

Kind of boring. Mostly talks about unification, building plans, etc.
It's great to see a new couple bonding, but of course, they are the 2 most complicated to be together. Both essential to each of their clans, how are they going to convince Kian and Kalugal to co-exist together.
Eleanor is back in the picture and I don't trust her at all.
No real action in this one.

This is a first

Edna and Rufsar are a huge departure from the usual happy ending couples of this series. They have a very hard road to be together and they're still not there yet. That situation made this a good read. Looking forward to how this all works out.

Can Love Win

Dark Choices: Paradigm Shift is book 42 of I.T. Lucas' The Children of The Gods series. This is more of Eleanor and Rufsur's story. We also get a glimpse into Eleanor. Can love be enough when you are on different sides? Time will tell.

This is definitely one of my favorite vampire series. It's hard to believe that they keep getting better. I can't wait to read the next book so that I can finally see how Rufsur and Edna get their HEA since it seems so impossible right now.

Paradigm Shift

How to love someone, yet you can't be there with them. Trying to find a solution might be worth the wait. Yet there is always the threat of another. Another great book. One to the next one.

I want things to fall in place for the future of the two clans.

I'm so hoping the love wins out in the relationship between Rufsur and his love. Anything worth having doesn't come easy.

good

Interesting facet of the ongoing story. I am curious to see how and if Edna and Rufsar’s relationship will unite the two clans and hopefully Lokan/Carol. Looking forward to seeing what happens next.
As well as how they will take down Eleanor

adding 50 pages to the count is just annoying

The stories are great the writing mediocre. It’s gotten better after the first 20. Maybe fill the 50 repeat pages with actual story. SMH.
