She’s mine to claim. Mine to protect. Mine to care for.

I swore I’d never go back to that mountain, not after my childhood friend and I fell out. So imagine my shock when I discover he’s died and left me his hunting cabin.

On the way up, I find myself staring down the barrel of a pistol without a safety, in the form of smooth thighs, arresting green eyes, and curves that could charm a sapling into a mighty oak.

But it turns out my old buddy’s gone and thrown me another curveball: the nymph with the ass that won’t quit? That’s his eighteen-year-old little girl. She’s running from something, but I’m not about to let anyone lay a finger on this green-eyed angel.

I’ll put my life on the line to keep her safe, because that’s what Daddies do.

Author’s note: I’ve wanted to write a mountain-man romance for what feels like FOREVER! There’s just something about a rugged, brooding loner with a big axe that makes you want to curl up by a roaring fire. Enter, Silas Walker! He’s a little grumpy and a lot stubborn, but once this mountain Daddy gets his hands on his baby girl, he’s never letting her go.

Please be aware that this book contains suspense elements and discussions of past physical abuse. But don’t let that heavy stuff fool you, this romance is fast and filthy, with no cheating or cliffhangers, and features a guaranteed HEA!

I’m not entirely sure what I could say about this story that I haven’t already said about every other Margot Scott novella.

It was sweet and steamy if not lacking in plot. Which is strange because it had a pretty good storyline going but it felt totally useless to the actual story that was told. I would’ve liked it more if she had expanded on that plot line, if there was more of a buildup.

Really, buildup is what’s lacking in every aspect including the love story. Even for instalove standards, this was quick. Especially since Silas is supposed to be grumpy, I felt this called for a bit of a push and pull.

Overall I found this one lacking. On a positive note, my favorite part was the mystery boy in the woods.

This was a short enjoyable read.
It’s an age gap daddy Dom romance of novella length.
It’s very instalove with a lack of angst so if that’s your thing this should definitely be a good fit for you.
It’s quite a sweet story and though there is a backstory regarding Nora’s father and his death at the hands of Norah's ex it wasn’t a massive part of the story more background Filler and the emphasis here is mostly on Norah and Silas’s emerging bond.
I liked both Norah and Silas very much and though this wasn’t that in-depth I could still feel the connection between them they definitely had a lot of Chemistry together.
This is my second experience with this author and she does write excellent Daddy Dom stories managing to deliver just the right balance and making you go aw rather than ew.
This was a sweet read and gets a thumbs up from my camp.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Deep Woods.

Entertaining. The storyline was acceptable. The steam was great. It had a lil slow burn interlude. More reads by this author to come!

Short, Sweet and Hot AF

Margot Scott is becoming a go-to for me for sweet hot reads.

Silas and Norah are easy to love. Their story is a deliciously smutty age-gap romance with a dash of suspense and a hint of "Daddy Dom" kinkiness. A great evening's entertainment. Recommended.

I just wanna say first, that I love how this is what I read on Christmas. Not a Christmas book or a holiday Novella, but a daddy kink novella. I need help.

Anyways, This was...something. I got a Kindle Paperwhite for Christmas and a Kindle Unlimited membership so naturally, I wanted to try it out. This was just, idk weird. I’m fine with age gap romances, and a little weirded out by the daddy kink but ya know whatever? But it just made me uncomfortable that our heroine is the daughter of our hero’s ex best friend. I mean I know taboo romances are a thing, but maybe that’s not my thing

Silas picks up more trouble than he realizes when he stumbles upon Norah. They have some twists and turns to navigate but the rewards are fabulous in this hot Daddy novella! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Silas is heading to an old fishing cabin left to him by his late best friend. He has great memories of spending summer holidays there when they were growing up. It’s been a long time since he has been back there after falling out with him many years ago, so he was surprised to discover it had been left to him.

Sarah was devastated when her father died and she now has a whole lot of reasons to get away from her hometown, in particular an ex she never wishes to see again. She plans to hide out in her dad’s cabin until things settle down and she decides her next move.

Sarah is shocked to discover Silas is the new owner of the cabin she loved. The fact that he was her father’s best friend and is 20 years older than her seems to make him even more appealing. He is really good looking and Sarah thinks trying to seduce him would be the only way she could ever experience the sexual awakening she craves.

This is a short smutty read that felt much longer as it covers a lot of story.

3.5⭐️ Hello smut.

~Silas never thought he’d be back at his old buddies hunting cabin. Finding out it was left to him after his friends passing is a shock but even more of a shock is meeting his 18 year old daughter. Norah I trying to live with herself after a life changing moment that cost her everything.~

Super short but steamy with serious daddy dom kink. 🔥 He’s twice her age and a mountain of a man.

I love how protective he is of her.

I've read books by this author before and I always love forward to when her new books come out because they are awesome. This book grabbed my attention and held it all the way through and I really enjoyed reading this book and so will you.

Silas and Jack were best friends, well more like brothers really, only they'd not seen each other for years. When Silas got a call that Jack had died his life changed for ever.

When he first meets Norah at the gas station, he feels a very strong connection to her like there is something familiar about her but doesn't know why or what and it's obvious that something passes between them both.

Norah is Jack's daughter and she herself is running from quite alot. She has some secrets kept inside that seem to weigh her down with guilt. When she meets Silas he is just what she needs and when she finds out who he is she feels even more safer with him.
(NO SPOILERS).

This book is a quick read that is hot and steamy and has great characters that you just can't get enough of. These two have a great connection before they've even met because of Jack and this is what bonds them together. They also have awesome chemistry that is sweet to see. I love how protective Silas is of Norah and how much love they have for each other. This book is a real Insta love romance that you won't want to miss. Awesome.
This book is told from different points of view which I always prefer and has an epilogue which I loved as I feel that it always adds something extra special to the story seeing where everyone is at now. I enjoyed reading this book and I can't wait to read more from this author in the future.
Thank you to the author and publishers for allowing me to read an early copy of this book.

Deep Wood by Margot Scott

5 STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Margot Scott has a dirty and delicious way with her words and stories.
If you look for something quick, dirty and 🔥🔥🔥 af, she is definitely the right choice for you, but keep in mind that, you will need some ice or a cold shower.
Silas and Nora's story was easy to read, very 🔥, and a little wild.

Silas wants to escape the real life, his job and his life in the city. He wants quite, the forest, the mountains, hunting & fishing, fresh air. Now, his luck has changed. His best friend from his childhood has died, but he left him the cabin on the mountain. The cabin in which they grew, the cabin where they spent they holydays when they were kids.

Norah made some poor choices, and she is on the run now. She wants to escape her life and the reality that she lives in. Her father was a role model for her, but sadly, something bad happened to him. So she ran away to the only place she knew and loved with all her heart. The cabin on the mountain.

Imagine what happenes when they both meet there.

So... If you are a fan of the age gap, daddy kink, old man & young girl, this 🔥 is for you.

I LOVED Deep Wood. From the moment Silas enters the story, I was hooked. Margot's description of the manly-man had me swooning and running for the smelling salts. Her portrayal of Norah had me thinking of my own younger days, and the dumb things I did at 18. If you're looking for a smart, sharp, exciting insta-love fix, this is your book. Margot is a talented professional, and her stories never fail to tug at my heartstrings and make me need to change my panties. Good job, Margot!

I’m in the mood to read short stories so I’m basically reading everything from this author.

This was an okay read. Silas and Norah were hot like all Margot’s couples but the story wasn’t my favorite.

▬ 𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬: friend's daughter, daddy kink, age gap
▬ 𝐭𝐰: abuse

All I can say is YUM! That was one deliciously hot book and I was all over it. Just as the blurb promises Silas is a little grumpy, a lot rough, and entirely good enough to eat! Add to that some well placed drama, touches of suspense, and plenty of steam and this was one hot read!

Margot Scott is a new author to me, but after this yummy and hot as hell romance I’ll be diving in for more very soon! 5 stars.

Fabulous book! Norah and Silas are meant to be together, despite the age gap and the Daddy/babygirl taboo. I would recommend this book to everyone. I loved how the murdered father's ghost-boy made appearances and gave his ghostly blessing to the relationship. Seriously, a great Margot Scott read!

After reading some long books, I decided to look in my Kindle Library and I found a short-story DEEP WOOD: A Mountain Daddy Romance. It is an Age Gap Romance, too. Also he is a Daddy Dom. It was an entertaining story that I could easily read in one sitting. I know some readers have triggers and then might not enjoy this story.

Silas Walker is a real estate dealer who just has inherited a fishing cabin from an old friend that he hasn't spoken to in years. They had a falling out years ago. So Silas was very surprised by being bequeathed this family cabin. He thought maybe it was Jack Benson's way of making up for what he had done to Silas in their past! Whatever the reason, Silas quit his job, traded his Lexus for a Dodge Ram, and headed halfway across the country to his newly inherited cabin. As he got closer, he stopped at a gas-station/quick-mart. He got in line to pay when the young girl in front of him was having trouble paying for her items. He was tired and impatient so paid for her items, so he could be on his way. The very same girl was by his truck, flirting to get a ride. He said, “No!”

Silas's concern for her welfare wore him down. Imagine his surprise when he found out that she was Jack Benson's daughter and they both were headed to the same cabin. Her name was Norah and she was running far away from something bad. In order for Silas to let her stay, she had to tell him the entire awful story. Silas might be stubborn and grumpy, but he would give his life to protect his “baby girl” once this mountain man claimed her.

**A little spoilerish**

I see where Margot Scott was trying to go with this book. But, I feel it wasn’t probably executed. I think what happened to Norah’s dad set a serious tone to this book. I wasn’t feeling it. If it just stuck to finding a girl late at night... then yes! Forbiddeness! But the whole killing and feeling guilty. Not so sexy.

I was looking and hoping to get that forbiddeness feel in this book. I mean... that’s why I jumped so fast to read this book!!! The dirty forbidden feeling you get while reading a Margot Scott Book. The daddy little play... I love it! But, I didn’t feel the daddy thing until the very end and only one time!

This book was kinda slow too. It wouldn’t have bothered me if there were more naughty, dirty things going on. It all felt too normal.

It wasn’t a bad book. Just something I’m not use to. I will continue to read Margot Scott books. Because overall they have been good to me. This was just there.

This is my first book by this author and I will definitely be reading more by her! I love mountain man romances and this story checked all of my hot buttons. A chance encounter at a convenience store leads Norah and Silas on an adventure of heartbreak, romance with a little stalking thrown in. The age gap between them gives Silas pause especially when he finds out she is his deceased friend’s daughter. She is going to the cabin under false pretense is and her past catches up with her. Will Silas forgive her for the secrets she has been holding?

The "daddy" role that Silas fulfills in this story is less about "age-play" and more about Norah's "need" for a strong, alpha male who cares about her well being enjoys spending time with her and makes her feel safe; it's more like "who's your daddy" rather than "daddy's little girl." The rope that ties the two main characters together, Silas and Norah, is a hunting cabin that Silas's childhood best friend, Jack bequeathed him even though they had had a falling out when Jack got "in" with the wrong crowd and stole a family heirloom from Silas's family and their friendship dissolved. When Silas finds out about the hunting cabin, he quits his job and drives all night to get there, unable to shake this sense of urgency he is feeling. When Silas stops to refuel, he is approached by a young lady desperate for a ride "home," and although at first Silas says "no" and starts to leave, but his "out-of-character" intense attraction compels him to offer her a ride. Norah, who is terrified and on the run from her abusive ex-boyfriend hopes by accepting the ride, once stopped, she can steal some of his money and keep moving farther away from her ex. But, her plans go south when they both come to the realization that her "home" and his cabin are the same. For Norah, this is the only place where she has truly felt safe and connected with her always working, late father, Jack. Even with the revelation of who Norah is, Silas is still extremely attracted to her, both sexually and in protective, "want to take care of' way. As this intense attraction between Norah and Silas comes into fruition, evil begins to creep in, lives are threatened, their fragile trust is rocked, and the unexpected pay a visit in this fast-paced, enjoyable read!

Have you ever read Margot Scott? These are some of the hottest novellas I've ever read. This story is no exception. The story you're about to read will touch your heart, tear at your emotions and maybe tickle your fancy.

Meet Silas who just inherited his estranged best friends fishing cabin, the place he'd grown up with him and their fathers. Silas hightails it for an escape and stops at a store to pick up provisions. There he meets a young temptress who just asks him for a ride. After some initial hesitation he agrees. It turns out she is Sarah, the daughter of his deceased friend. He attempts to avoid his attraction to her but eventually gives in. Could this be real?

Silas can be my daddy anytime!

I liked this story a lot. It was entertaining and enjoyable but also sad. There is talk of prior emotional and physical abuse so be aware of that. Brody was a real piece of work and definitely deserved some comeuppance. Silas was a workaholic until his reality was shaken. Norah’s reality was also shaken and she wasn’t thrilled with what her life had been like before that. I liked that Silas worked hard at being a good guy and a good friend to Norah. Him letting her make her own decisions and giving her power over those decisions made me happy. I loved their happily ever after. I recommend reading this book.

I'm a sucker for mountain man romance but this one mixes a few troupes into as well that make it a spicy and dramatic read. Silas and Norah take a chance encounter at a convenience store and throw you into a tailspin.

He just quit his job to go see a cabin left to him from a friend of which he had a falling out with. She does what she needs to survive but this girl has got secrets and a bad ex.

In 7 days these two deal with alot. There are secrets, things that make you a believer in fate, two characters that for a quick story are thrown into the hot pan and a 5 year leap into the future. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.
