Come inside as the SwankMaster opens up a world full of hope, despair, triumph and failure. You are quickly put inside his characters and their individual modes of living with and surviving through the continuing onslaught of an existence limited in scope by many standards. Witness as they tangle with fate, and struggle through the things that personal choices unleash. No prisoners are taken as he walks with you through a gutty, gripping, intelligent and well-written story of the clashes between parent and child, race and change, history and future. The moods and atmospheres that the SwankMaster created are vivid and glaring. Feel it. Feel the saga that he has woven together. Feel a story that will remain with you long after you have sat the book down, because you were taken back to those times where a good story left plenty of room for you to use your own imagination, and to see the characters from your own perspective because, he understands that each of us create our own sub-stories as we suck up the pages of a good read. Few, if at all, will dispute the fact that you will have indeed gone on a wild ride by its finish. Relax; that is just a dog barking outside. You just got caught up in a scene that took you deep inside Lamar's world. You are still within the safety of your own eyes. Please continue to absorb yourself inside this world. The author holds no qualms over sending you through this emotion or that one. You may even become mildly stressed (and certainly disturbed). He just doesn't care. This poignant and timely-written novel allows you to reflect on your own circumstances; and, hopefully, understand the circumstances of the lesser situated and non-privileged. In the midst of weaving a dark, vivid and raw tale the SwankMaster has shown that it is much more to our assumptions in life. Not that many books are as raw and American as this one. So brace yourself, and enjoy the many layers of (A Saga Of What It Du Be Like).
