It turns out her emergency has rippling muscles and the bluest pair of eyes she has ever seen... If only she hadn't ruled out love. Erin Havoc writes short, steamy romance with no cliffhangers, no cheating and a guaranteed HEA! Her heroines are always curvy and she writes contemporary, dark, and shifter romance.
Pretty short novella and little steam. A perfect late night read or lunch.
Allyson is a workaholic at a vet thats all she does is work until shes called in and meets Alec a guy who accidentally injured a doggie and sparks fly between them and its already down and dirty. And well thats pretty much it.
No ow/om drama, no cheating, sexy time, no virgins.
The writing is full of whit, there’s low drama, quick read and a happily ever after. Instant lust, cute puppies are involved as well as a hot firefighter.
Allyson swears off men. That’s right all men. Being a vet at an emergency pet hospital for dogs things happen at odd hours. Guys tend to want to dictate how Ally is to abandon doggie parents when they are in need. Many of the boyfriends of her past felt their needs should have had top priority. Hence, no male in her life.
On her day off she gets a call to go into work a dog had been run over. Turns out the actual person who ran over the pup is Alec a firefighter. His alone had Ally wanting to change her stance on no men.
The dog would be fine, but the other situation of her pitiful life still the same. No matter how gorgeous Alec is, with his voice that could melt off your clothes. That is until the next day Ally decides to try the new dog-friendly restaurant.
There was a long line to get in. Just about the time she starts to worry about being alone to eat. There’s a tap on her shoulder, Alec is there to have dinner, with her now.
A cute story overall. But for me no huge excitement. Very predictable. But still cute. Found on Amazon for free. I give this: 4 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com.
Allyson is a veterinarian. She’s often called on her day off, on call and swing shift. She is called in on her day off because an animal is hurt. Allyson comes in and checks the dog and finds the person who accidentally hurt the dog. Alec is a fire fighter. Tall, handsome and eyes that draw her in. Alec and Allyson both want to have someone that they can come home to no matter what the time of day. With both demanding types of jobs can they make it work? No cliffhanger nice and short.

This is a melt-your-heart story about Allyson and Alec. Allyson is a curvy veterinarian who works for the Emergency Clinic. She has given up on dating since guys don’t understand her crazy work schedule and dedication to caring for the animals. They can’t help feeling a strong attraction for each other, but Allyson resists based on her poor dating track record! Will Alec prove to her that he’s not like the others? Here is a man who understands dedication!
This is such a cute story with wonderful characters and a furry catalyst for love. Can Alec win her over? Grab your copy and enjoy this heart-warming story.
Love at first sight but what happened NEXT? This is about Allyson and Alec. Allyson is a veterinary and Alec is a firefighter. Allyson has never been able to keep a boyfriend as they all have issues with her running to the clinic to save an animal, especially dogs. Alec did the mistake of running over his dog and rushed her to the vet where he meets Allyson. The next day the meet up again and they take off from there to his place, which then becomes steamy, but then that is it. I loved that they found each other, but the story is very short and there is not talk about marriage or anything, like we are missing an extended part of the book. I need MORE!

Allyson is the vet on call for the Emergency Clinic. She comes in whenever she is needed; even on her nights off. Her past boyfriends have never understood. She gets called in because a dog has been hit by a truck. When she arrives she finds a very concerned firefighter, Ryder and the dog. A few days go by and she runs into Ryder at a restaurant where you can bring your dog. Allyson and Ryder seem to hit it off and things look bright. This is a quick, little read that can be finished in one setting. It is funny, tender and a heartwarming read.

This book, Sweet Dreams by Erin Havoc, is about as sweet, tender, and sappy, as a short book can possibly get, but it's a cute novella too.
This story has just a touch of angst, a bit more humor, and plenty of romance if such things are to your liking, otherwise you will need to find a new story to read.
This is the second book I have read by Ms. Havoc, but it will definitely not be the last. If you haven't read a book by Ms. Havoc yet, I strongly suggest you start with Sweet Dreams, especially if you love romance stories, or any stories, that are short and sweet. You won't be disappointed.
Allyson is a veterinarian who works for an Emergency Clinic. She has had trouble dating in the past because guys don’t understand her crazy work schedule and that she's always there for her patients. She receives a call about an injured pup on her day off and rushes to the clinic where she meets Alec, a sexy firefighter. They feel an immediate strong attraction for each other, but Allyson feels he wouldn't be interested in a girl like her. However, Alec is determined not to let her slip away. Sweet relatable characters, but ends abruptly after Allyson and Alec hook up, like the prequel to a longer story.
This was a quick read with instalove and instaheat. I loved that the heroine was curvy without apologies and that our hero fell for her, also without apologies. Ms. Havoc has written yet another good one. On to the next

Who doesn’t love a good story with puppies in it? It’s short and sweet but overall a good story. What happens when a woman has sworn off all men but the ideal man appears to have come into her life? I don’t give out spoilers, so if you want to know if the path to love is easy, you will need to read this book.
The story line and character work were terrific. The book had a good flow to it. This was a quick, fun read. I look forward to the more from this author.

Allyson and Alec are brought together when he accidentally hurts a puppy. Their first look is all they need to know something is between them. Their first touch makes it known they were meant to be.

So Allyson lives a lonely life as vet at an animal hospital, and so does Alec being a fireman. He brings in a dog he backed his car over and their story gets deliciously hot after that. This story line is fun and easy to read with enjoyable characters and the dogs.
Great story, too short! Love the setup, very believable reasons for her having trouble finding a date. Not sure I buy the "swearing off all men" bit, but I can understand the lack of desire to try. Pet lovers always a plus!
The author has given us characters we can connect with. Alec, firefighter, and Allyson, emergency vet, have each given up on finding anyone who would understand the crazy hours they keep.

The story was okay, and the main characters are plausible, but the writing was uneven. There were tense shifts from sentence to sentence and many other errors that took me out of the flow of the story. I liked the hopefulness of the main female character, and I liked the good-guy status of the male lead. I don’t know if a longer story would have been better; the short length made for an easy read, but some of the character development seemed missing.
Short, sweet instalove! Allyson is a dedicated veterinarian and she meets Alec when he brings in a pup that he accidentally hit. They are immediately drawn to each other and feel in sync. HEA.
