A dramatic narrative published to coincide with the twenty-fifth anniversary of Roe v. Wade draws on more than five hundred interviews and archival materials to create a living history of the abortion conflict in America. 25,000 first printing.
I've been reading this book on and off for a while now, as abortion is an emotional subject and a difficult one to engage in daily. However, what I have read has been very informative without subscribing to any rigid belief on the subject. Cynthia presents the facts in a very readable way through first-hand accounts, and does so with delicacy and care. Thus far I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the history of this hotly debated topic.
This is the best book I have read related to the abortion debate her in America. It goes back and forth between a woman who is pro-choice and fighting to protect a woman's right to choose and a man who is pro-life and fighting to end abortion in America. It is very well balanced and taught me a lot about the pro-life side of the issue.
This history of the debates about abortion in the USA is excellent. It profiles both sides so well that I'm not sure which side the author is on. It manages to be encouraging and troubling for both sides.
A bit outdated at this point, but yet at the same time. it's still the same things over and over. I appreciated her nonpartisan presentation and how she alternated chapters from each side. Very thorough.
