Another thoroughly enjoyable and unpredictable ride!

Extermination, book 5 in the Surviving The Virus series, continues the story of Noah, Kelly, Eddie, Zelda and the rest of the group when they encounter by far the worst thing since the dead rose. The cruelty and depravity are shocking. The quality of the writing is still excellent, with an especially detestable antagonist and group for the protagonists to face. This is the most twisted book in the series so far! I'll leave it to future readers to find out exactly what I'm talking about. The unpredictable nature of the series hasn't changed, which makes it enjoyable, even for the most seasoned apocalyptic survival thriller aficionados! 5/5 stars! If you enjoy truly unpredictable apocalyptic survival thrillers, Extermination, and the rest of the Surviving The Virus series will keep you engaged and on the edge of your seat!

Facing Bad Choices

I have to admit after the last book I was not sure I would read this volume. I was so disappointed in Eddie and his self serving choices. This volume finds Eddie doing the same and it costs someone else their life, but the title definitely is a true reflection of this story. As humans face their own mortality we can decide to be better for the ones we love or continue like Curtis to live in denial. This story detailed Eddie, Zelda, and Noah coming to terms with the deaths and choices they made. It also gave the reader a glimpse at a looming battle ahead as people begin to get sick and reminds us that viruses will do whatever is necessary to survive. I will read the next book, this series was different, the heroes were flawed and made choices that seemed despicable. Redemption was a fitting name for this volume.

Still gripped

Right! Book 5 finished. Characters have died who I would liked to have survived but that's the way it is.
I'm all set for number 6 intrigued to see what happens next. I'm happy to say no boring bits yet again, so Ryan I hope you've done enough to keep the interest of you're reader

Shocking!

Loved the twists and turns, the comrades and humanity at its best and worse. Didn't like the language in parts, but too heavy (1 word specifically) was quite shocking. Can't wait for book 6!

Good

These books were good and hold ones interest. They are also scary because they could be true. Good job Mr. Casey!
