Seven sons, each with a bloodline of supernaturals that can be traced back to them, but where did they go?
Isabella is in a race across the world.
A mistake leaves her world crumbling around her and one man knowing her deepest, darkest secret. A secret he killed the only man she ever loved to get. Now Isabella must find him before he finds the council. If he tells them what she is…they will capture her and enslave her for the rest of her immortal life.
A chance encounter with a nightwalker leads her to strike a bargain, but her heart and her body were never part of that deal. Yet he is intent on taking them anyway.
He can have them both, but he can never have the truth, not if she wants to survive.
When the lines between past and future blur and Isabella finds out the truth…will she stay, or will she run?
Gather around, love, this is the start of the truth.
First book we had the dragon, this one we have the Nightwalker/vamp. This is Ciar and Isabella's story. The nightwalker god and the - you'll find out at the end of the book-🤣. I liked them, but something was definitely missing here. Its more of a solw burn compared to the first book. Bella is crazy, angry, on a hunt for her life and with trust issues. Ciar is doing everything in his power to gain her trust and her love, even if she stabs and hits him over the head with a shovel over and over again. She appeared to be mean for no reason sometimes, which bothered me. He is cocky and arrogant but never disrespectful. I love a strong and capable woman, but that doesn't mean she has to be a bitch. Another thing, I would have thought him being the first one of his kind, the father off all vamps,he would be way more dangerous and powerful. I just didn't got that vibe from him at all. Actually he was quite beta and it seemed like Bella was more dangerous than him sometimes.
Some of the stuff didn't make sense: How is he is a suit, a modern one at that, when Bella gets him out of that coffin, if he was in there for a long ass time?I doubt they had Armani suits 200 years ago. Also he is telling her he has 5 other brothers not 6 like its correct. We still don't get anything of importance about this fucking council, which seem to be the center of all bad things, the main plot, so in this department the book still lacks big time. Those beta readers or editor should definitely pay more attention to some details.
I liked this book. It wasn’t bad or anything, I think it just ultimately wasn’t my favorite type of plot line or story to follow. Vampires aren’t something I particularly like and the whole revenge plot line is not one that I’m a big fan of either so this book just wasn’t my cup of tea. I did enjoy it though and I will be continuing the series. However, I do think this will probably be one of the weakest ones for me.
#1 - “i’m learning my little mate is a secret romantic, though she will stab me if i ever tell anyone that.” #2 - chapter 15 🥲 #3 - he gets turned on whenever she threatens to knock him out with her shovel... again
”Because I’ve found my mate, and now she is my everything. Everything I never knew I was searching for.“
If Katie keeps making me addicted to these amazing books, my pockets are going to go on strike! Haha This book was sexy, funny, intriguing, and did I mention sexy?
Bella and Ciar had AMAZING chemistry! Like this is a couple that I would root for irl just because of how much chemistry they have. If you know me, you know I’m a sucker for banter, and there’s was enjoyable! This was sort of “insta-lovey” but it worked out well for the couple.
The first book I ever read from this author was Den of Vipers, which is a very “bloody” read (in a good way of course) and this one was even more bloody! The title fits it perfectly. There were some pretty intense scenes that are not for the weak hearted, but Katie wrote them beautifully and had me anxious to swipe over for more.
I can’t wait to continue this series, especially thanks to that epilogue! I urge you all to read not only this book, but ALL of Katie’s books!
★2.5/5 STARS ★ I had a feeling that I would not enjoy this book as much as the first one, since I loved the characters in that one, but I was not expecting to be as disappointed as I am right now. I couldn’t stand all of the miscommunications and plot holes, not to mention my hatred of the main character.
This book starts of with Ciar, one of the seven gods, begging a woman named Bella to dig him out of the ground. They strike a deal, she will dig him up if he helps her to find some mysterious man trying to turn Bella into the supernatural council. Almost immediately she hits him on the head with a shovel.
Now, I know a lot of readers enjoy a feisty MC that is not afraid to use a weapon to get what she wants. It just got annoying for me. Every other line was her threatening to hit him with the shovel again or her stabbing him with a knife. She had 0 communication skills. For half the book Ciar kept mentioning that he had a mate and instead of talking to him, Bella just got all butt hurt and refused to talk to him. Finally Ciar directly said that she is his mate, but do you want to know what she said?
“𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧—“
Does she not understand that memories are of the past? That you can change your lifestyle? That he just met her so he didn’t know about her when he was with those woman? Does she understand what a mate is at all? I get it, she grew up isolated but not for her entire life. Mates are such a special thing that I find it hard to believe that she knew nothing about them. She then said that she can’t be his mate and basically rejected Ciar. Then, she said the truest line in the entire book
“𝐅𝐮𝐜𝐤, 𝐈’𝐦 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡”
Yep, yep, and yep. So she went searching for Ciar to explain that she can’t think before she speaks, and he was rightfully mad. So what should she do to fix that?
ANDDDD that’s where another star got knocked off for my rating. This couple just doesn’t really talk. That why I can’t understand how they love each other (which they express a couple pages after that quote) I’m thinking it’s just because of the bond. I know this is a short book, but I just felt nothing towards these characters. One reason why I couldn’t really connect with these characters is because I really know nothing about them. A good 20 pages (which is a lot for this book) is spent killing vamps that that were taking men and women against their will to rape them and drink their blood.
I totally agree that the most important thing in this world is the right to choose. I have been a victim of sexual assault myself and am always trying to advocate for all my fellow warriors who have been through a similar situation. The thing is, this felt unnecessary. I know it was brought up to show that Bella was taken against her will during childhood and forced to do unthinkable things, but this part of the book seemed forced. Like the author needed to give the MC reception since she has been pretty rude throughout this entire book. This had nothing to do with their deal to find the man trying to turn Bella in.
Anyway, this wasn’t my favorite. It was definitely darker then the first book. The characters also have a blood kink so if that’s not your cup of tea, this might not be for you. I will probably still read the next book since it will be about different characters but we will see.
Piece out ✌️

This series is pretty good. But I’m not surprised. Katie makes some of my favorite books. It’s a short read but they all flow into the same world and story line so it’s fine. Looking forward to them all coming together !
A thrilling sequel to this awesome series. . I really got stuck into this book after reading the first. I was excited to explore more of this world and learn more about what’s to unfold. I didn’t connect with the characters as much as I did in the first book. I’m not sure what it was but I still enjoyed their journey. I admired Bella. Her strength and determination after everything she has been through in her life to then be the warrior she is was a thing of beauty to see. Often times when people have been through what they do they don’t come out on top like she did. Yes she was jaded but who wouldn’t be. . I kinda expected Ciar to be more deadly or dangerous but I felt like he was just a big teddy bear. I guess for me that’s where the disconnect was. As much of a dark read it is I expected some level of danger to the character himself but just wasn’t feeling it. I liked his dynamic with Bella however and they balanced each other out really well. . The more I read, the more intrigued I am about this world. I have more questions and my curiosity has been more than piqued. I cannot wait to learn more and I hope we get a greater sense as to what’s happening. The plot is great and it has me looking forward to the direction it’s going. The little teases and snippets we have gotten only ass more anticipation and suspense and I love it but am also dying of impatience and curiosity. . All in all this is an awesome paranormal read. I cannot wait to see what Katie has in store next.
This book was JUST as incredible as the first! I am so enchanted with these characters! I loved Bella and Ciar SO much! They also made me laugh. Bella getting Ciar dirty in the beginning after she knocked him out had me ROLLING. The chemistry and sex appeal right from the get go was OH SO HOT. They were practically frothing at the mouth for each other. Bella...omg. She was so funny. She couldnt hide her jealousy AT ALL. And Ciar. He was so irrisistable and charming! This book was so dark too. Darker than the first. When they went into that sex house and killed those nightwalkers that kidnapped those humans...man that was hard to read. The secret about what Bella is was KILLING ME TOO! I was fighting myself to not peek and see. This author is so amazing at what she does. I don't even like insta-love type stories but this one sucked me right in...hehe get it? This book was just so freaking good, I cant wait to read all the other stories. I loved finding out what Isabella was, I loved the attraction and connection between Ciar and her, I loved the end and them connecting with Mishal, Nyre & Dabria again too!!!! AND the Epilogue sneak peek into the next book with the next brother and the singing siren (I think) 5 stars and more!!!!
I really enjoyed this book! There was a great mixture of snark, action, humor, mystery, and steam and I can’t wait to read the next book! Bella is a survivor- she’s had a tough life to say the least and is labeled as an abomination to those who know what she is. Ciar is ancient, the first vampire, who has gotten by with his charm and bloodlust, never intending to find his mate. She needs a tracker and he needs to be set free, but neither one expected to get more than they bargained for. I really enjoyed the witty banter between these two characters! They had me cracking up with his cocky attitude and her smart mouth. It was a great journey watching their relationship grow, her walls crumbling for him, and learning how to be loved and loving yourself. Bella and Ciar were both crazy and it fit their personalities so well that I adored both of them. I think if you can hit a guy with a shovel, shove him in your trunk, later stab him in a diner, and threaten to cut his balls off with a spoon, and he still wants you, then he’s a keeper. *I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review
I say I can't get enough of these books, but trufully, I can't get enough of this author! She is an extraordinary author and continues to rock my world!
Bella helps Ciar when he was very much in need of help. In return, she wants him to track someone down that is planning to tell the council of her existence. The chemistry is intense right away, but Bella has zero patience for his overly flirty remarks and the charming facade he hides behind. Not only does Bella see through the flirtyness right away, she calls him out on it. Which shocks the hell out of him. She sees the real man hidden, sees his darkness. That's the man she wants, she wants his darkness, craves it. Though they have their ups and downs, they are clearly meant to be together and perfectly matched. The balance they gave one another was perfection. Where she's all seriousness and no nonsense, he's more playful and carefree. He helped her loosen up and learn to let her guard down, she helped him bring out the real Ciar behind the mask, gave him purpose.
Pretty Bloody is so very sexy, gurateed to make you laugh, extremely bloody, yet a beautiful love story.
HEA(?): Yes! Pacing: Mid Fast - Fast Heat: 3.5/5, I really wanted more in the heat department. Romance: 3.5-4/5 Dark(?): Dark Lite-ish (to me) 1ish/5, I Love Dark books so my rating will be different from others. Drama: 3.5/5, there’s more in this one than the first standalone. Suspense: 2.5/5, Not as much as I would’ve preferred. Relationship Type: MF Humor: 2.5/5, I loved that the humor fit the book in the places that it was needed. No Spoilers.
I really wanted Siar to not know anything/everything when he woke up, cause he was never surprised/confused of anything when he awoke. I really wanted him to be essentially a man from another ‘time’ (mentality wise), so (to me) that was a bit of a disappointment. I really wanted Isabella to guide him, but that’s just me.
But ya gotta love a girl who can Handle a Shovel! 😂
I was anxious to know what was going to happen next, and I love the fact that was craving more the further I read. Really great book, seriously and wasn’t disappointed. I look forward to book 3 (which is a standalone! Lol).
A voice demanding a favor. A deal is struck. Lives are changed. Ciar is the original vampire, one of the forgotten gods and he's buried. He sends his voice directly into Isabella's mind demanding that she come dig him up. A request she's willing to grant because she needs a tracker. A fallen knows her secret and is on his way to the council. If he tells them, she will be hunted, tortured, killed. She must stop him. She will free the nightwalker and in return, he will help he find the fallen. But he's infuriating, cocky, irresistible. She wants him. She wants to stab him. He knows immediately he will never let her go.
I liked Pretty Painful. I loved Pretty Bloody. Ciar and Isabella are the right kind of crazy. Their murderous passion amused me. Their banter was fantastic. Their power is intriguing. I loved their story and I loved the ending. As each brother and his mate are added this can only get better. I look forward to it all.
Another great K.A. Knight book! Ciar and Bella are sexy and fun, even with their damaged pasts…or maybe because of it?? Bella is a strong, powerful woman with a life-threatening problem. She may not want it, but she needs Ciar’s help in order to survive. Ciar is a God, powerful and used to women falling at his feet. Bella not only doesn’t fall, her distain of him forces him to reevaluate how he wants to act around the woman who heats his blood. He must learn to shed his cocky façade as he gets to know his sweetly psychotic mate. Together these two are steamy, a bit twisted, and oh so perfect together! Great short story that leaves you impatiently waiting to read the rest of the Fallen Gods series! K.A. Knight has a talent of writing about dark and twisted monsters that have big hearts…looking out for the innocent and helping them in their unique bloody way! “Pretty Painful” alluded to the connection between “Fallen Gods” series and “Her Monsters” series; “Pretty Bloody” drives it home a little more! I love the connection between these two series…especially since “Her Monsters” is soooo amazing!! Can’t wait to see where this story line goes!!!
We were one brother down after book one, and now there are six brothers to go! Book two, Pretty Bloody of The Fallen Gods series is about Ciar (a nightwalker) and his mate, Isabella and well we don't find out exactly what she is for a while. I absolutely adore Isabella though, she's hilarious. Her and her trusty shovel honestly win the story from start to finish. Ciar is charming, cocky, full of himself and total smart ass, but Bella won't stand for it and that's a first for Ciar who is used to being able to wrap women around his little finger. After Bella releases Ciar from his "prison", he promises to help her hunt someone down. Neither of them is looking for love or even a mate but that's what both of them get.
This was a great quick read in this wonderful series, can't wait for book three.
The fangs, the blood, the strong characters! Oh how the monsters get to play and oh how hot the tension is between the two of them. The FMC is bada** and is hard to dislike. She got me at the shovel scene. I laughed so hard at that because it was the exact moment I realized she was no damsel but a take no prisoners kind of chick. There are so many moments like that throughout the book that you'll have a hard time picking a favorite. Ciar is the vampire you wish would take you. Hot, sexy and gets brought down a peg or two time and time again plus he loves his mate's brand of crazy. The two of them together are something else - sexy, funny and so much more.
Wow this series just keeps getting better and better. I thought the first one was a good intro into this series and book two is following up nicely.
Isabella does not have it easy. After all when the only man she has ever loved died because he knew her deepest secret. The man that killed him, is on his way to the council, and if he tells them what she is. She might as well kiss her long existence good bye. But by chance she meets a nightwalker, they strike up a deal. Only thing is he wants more than she is willing to give.
So much happens in this book, and before I knew it, I was done. I just had to find out what happened next. KA does an excellent job of writing dark twisted tales, and each book seems to get better and better. I cannot wait to see what the next one brings.
“You deserve the world, you deserve so much love that you never doubt your worth again.”
This book is deliciously dark and bloody. What I love about these books is that each one is their own story but they all lead to a bigger story. K.A. Knight has a way with words and doesn’t leave anything to the imagination.
Bella who finds herself being pulled towards a path she never thought she’d get to have. With Ciar by her side she must save herself while also accepting trust in her life. Will she finally find that she is not alone?
This book is the second book of seven book series and they keep getting better and better!
Ciar ... he’s sexy and funny and really determined to win over Bella .. Bella ... she’s determined to stay away from the vampire .. she just wants her revenge.. “ because I’ve found my mate , and now she is my everything, Everything I never knew I was searching for”- Ciar
Omg when she thought he was talking about someone else I about dies l. I could imagine how that felt I’m glad they worked that out pretty quickly.. it was so funny with her inner commentary.. sometimes .. Ciar was like so charming and when he found out what she was he didn’t even blink ..
I just really loved this one and I’m loving this series. .. I can’t recommend this enough ..
Now let me just say I do love a cocky vampire but I think the dragon brother will always have my heart even though Ciar will try to steal with with his 'charm'. Charm makes an oath to Isabella to help her hunt down someone if she gets him out of a coffin buried underground. Sparks... or should i say blood, flies with these two. Charm knowing she's his mate and Bella thinking everytime he talks about his that means someone else. Time is running short to find the man who betrayed her and Ciar gets on every last nerve Bella has but it's okay she has her shovel... I am currently reading the boxset and decided to leave reviews for each individual book.
Much more plot than smut, compared to the first book. Which I appreciate. I do love a storyline about monsters, and apparently angels as well?
I am still a bit confused on timeline for this series. Also, author made mistakes, our H Ciar was buried for 200 years but he still knew about fast food chains and greasy diner food, he still knew how to drive a car and when they drove through the city it didn't surprise him as much as it surprised his younger brother Mishal, who had been captured in a cell for 100 years. So not sure how far we are into the future or if author just didn't take the time to figure that out.
I like Ciar more than I liked his mate, she was a lot to handle.
The second in the Fallen Gods series! We get to meet the brother Ciar and his mate Bella. I love the characters Katie creates. They are each unique and have their own brand of crazy. The personalities of Ciar and Bella were so good, the chemistry and antics were steamy and hilarious, I loved it all. It’s clear from the beginning that neither were prepared for each other when the deal was struck! I loved the journey these two took us on, a great installment to a series that I know is going to be a favorite!
As a vampire lover this was everything I could’ve hoped for and more. A quick read but definitely not lacking in the angst and passion department. Their chemistry is chaotic and combustible and I loved every moment of it! The characters are so much fun! Sassy, deep, and bad ass. They have layers and peeling them back was everything. I fell in love with all the broken parts. This is book two of a spin-off series so I’d recommend having read all previous books to get a better sense of their world. I can’t wait to see what happens NEXT!!!
Loving this Pretty little series! Loving all the brothers. So far Ciar is my favourite but I bet KA will have me change my mind when the other books come out. Ciar has been buried for a long time. Hidden from the world until he wakes. He wakes and searches for someone to find him and with luck he comes across Bellas mind. Bella who's mind holds secrets that cannot get out into the world. So she hides herself away, until she no longer can, when the one she loves most is murdered. This is a brilliant story. I cannot wait to get started on the next.
This book is a step up from book 1, for sure. The story is here. There is a purpose. I loved Mishal, but Cian is a whole new level of delicious.
“I would give up all the riches in the world to have her love, to have her truly be my mate.” - KA Knight, Pretty Bloody
I loved the distrust that Bella had for Cian. Even when she learned they were mates, she held back. He had to work a little for it, earn it. They had chemistry, there’s no denying it, but she held back because of past trauma. I’m excited to see where this series goes.
Isabella, aka Bella, is looking for someone when she is contacted by someone, Ciar. He is buried and she needs to dig him out. Which she does. Little do they know at first they are fated mates. Meantime he helps her tack down the man who could get a death sentence against her. There is so much more to the story. Ciar and Bella have to go to a specific spot where they meet up with his brother, Michel and his mate, Nyre. They are off to find the other brothers. TBC
