Book 1 of the Wyvern Protection Unit Series and what a fantastic start. There are 4 Wyvern brothers and this is Jasper, the eldest, story.
Jasper's adoptive father tells him it's time he starts looking for a mate. Jasper is having too good of a time being single, doesn't want to be tied down yet. He's given an assignment to protect Carolina Moore. When he opens her file, to his shock and surprise, there is his mate!
Carolina Moore has just gotten a divorce and has sworn off men. She is going on a dig in Egypt with her friend Kim. Unfortunately, she happens to wake up a Demon, Medjet, who wants her as his bride. Oh heck no!! She calls her friend Jennifer who is sending Jasper to protect her. Their first meeting is funny! When she sees what Jasper looks like though and also finds out he's a shifter (she knows about them so no surprise there), there's an instant attraction. Can he protect and keep her safe from the Demon? Lord help the Demon if he tries to take Jasper's mate!
Just loved this story and the fabulous characters, even the Demon Medjet. It's an action packed, romantic story with some humor too. I can't wait for the next book and highly recommend this one!

The first spark of interest
If you are looking for a new shifter series with a mythological twist and just a touch, okay possibly more than a touch, of sass then this is the book for you. Jasper and Carolina are really perfect for each other, they blend so beautifully that I kind of forgot they weren't already a couple during parts of the story. The author has really blown me away with this book, I love that we still get that little hint of overlap between her other books and yet this is the beginning of a brand new series. Oh and you are not going to want to miss the exciting ending of this book. I really can't wait to see what happens with the rest of the WPU, hopefully they will all find their HEA.

I thoroughly enjoyed Carolina and Jasper's story. I love the touch of mythology in it, as well as the sarcastic banter and touch of danger. It's a fun, fast book to read. I hope the rest of the brothers have a story coming. That would make for an amazing series.

Jas and Caro burn up the page. Which is so right, I mean Wyvern, right! The Wyvern Protection Unit series is off to a great start, lots of heat, action and comedy. The scene where Jas first sees Caro, prepare to giggle and fan yourself!
We get more of Jennifer and the tie ins to Grizzly Love are fun. If you haven't read Grizzly, it's not necessary to the story but you should check it out.
Oh and I totally fell for the bad guy, Medjed. I can't wait to see more of him. I have a weakness for bad boys.

Jasper and his brothers were hatched in a lab looking like human children so the general took them home and him and his wife both human raised them. The 4 wyverns were part of the Wyvern protection unit that worked with the Federal Paranormal unit. He was sent to protect Carolina from a demon god that wanted for for his bride since she released him. But she wanted to be mated to Jasper as much as he wanted it to.

This was such a fun read! There was so much packed into this short book and I didn’t want to put it down. This was a great start to the Wyvern Protection Unit series and I really enjoyed all of the different elements woven in. I also really loved the chemistry between Carolina and Jasper.
This book is about Jasper, a Wyvern, who is assigned to protect Carolina, an archeologist, who accidentally set a demon free. Carolina is on the run because the demon wants her to be his bride and as soon as Jasper set eyes on her he knew she was his fated mate.

Okay She Freed A What!

Carolina faced an tumultuous divorce from her soon to ex who couldn't even show up and now she'd had plenty of time to reflect on their ill fated time together she wasn't even sure why they'd even bothered with such formalities as a stupid marriage.
Honestly who knew running off to Eygypt would land her into even more trouble then she could handle leaving her very few choices but one.
Jasper had been stunned by the words he'd just heard never once did he ever dream someone this close to him would be gone before he knew it.
Carolina still had a hard time understanding how she'd started this how karfaffle but trying to explain her personal problems.
Jasper wasn't about to complain in fact he thought himself the luckiest male in the world the moment she made her feeling known.
Nope she was truly magnificent her ex husband clearly didn't know how to appreciate a real woman, so his lose was hopefully my gain.
However trying to reason with an idiot can drive anyone a little crazy especially when all you want is for them to vamoose.
Now all Jasper needed was to fill his other half in on the whole truth and pray she didn't run away.

Loved it so much!
This story was great! My first time reading this series. I really loved Jasper and Carolinas story. Ugh the sad undertones was just killing me throughout the book. I’m so happy for this truly HEA! I’m very excited for the brothers books! Most importantly I’m hoping Jennifer gets a book! She intrigued me! This is my kind of woman! Curvy, glasses and librarian type but still tough as nails. Oh yes! Also.... I’m curious if her mate was just freshly “risen”?🤔🤔 I’m super curious!! The chemistry was off the charts as per usual in a Mrs Gorri book. She knows how to give her audience/readers the intense love connection that we so crave. I’m kinda curious about Kim as well. Was she just a side note? Or will she make an appearance as a future mate? Another thing to ponder. I can never really tell how a C.D. Gorri book will end. She really does surprise you. I never expected this ending and I can’t say how thrilled I am for it. It couldn’t have ended better! Like with all of her stories and worlds that she creates/writes in she has left me wanting more and seeking out MOAR!! 😻😼. She has that remarkable talent that just sucks you in and pops you into the blender. It’s always a ride! That’s for sure! 5⭐️ from me!

Jasper is one of four wyvern-shifter brothers who's assigned to missions around the world as needed by the Federal Paranormal Unit. His latest job is to protect famed sculptress Carolina Moore from Medjed, an Egyptian demon she accidentally freed who now wants to claim her as his bride. Unfortunately for the demon, Jasper and his wyvern are in agreement about calling dibs on Carolina as their mate first.
The story is short enough that Jasper and Carolina don't even meet until about 1/3 through, but it still feels quick. Their initial encounter is pretty explosive and the two show no signs of slowing down. They definitely make for a fun diversion if you've got a bit of time to spare.
The only drawbacks to the story were that it seemed really anticlimactic and I actually found myself more invested in Medjed than the main characters. I hope that he gets his own book eventually.

This is a well written shifter romance with a human female and a possessive, hot as hell wyvern shifter, yum. It’s got a happily ever after and has some very steamy scenes.
When Carolina releases a demon from an artificial and claims she is his bride, she freaks out, she calls her shifter friend who insists on sending her a bodyguard. Jasper is her bodyguard and a alpha wyvern shifter. He knows when he sees her picture that Carolina is his fated mate but he’s got competition in the form of a minor demon. He has to figure out how to tell her she’s his mate while protecting her from a literal sex god/demon.

The first in this new series started off with serious heat. In more ways than one. Jasper and Caro were amazing. Jasper has no intention of finding his mate, as his father asked. But one look at Caro and he was all in. Caro, having sworn off men, doesn't understand the overwhelming attraction for her bodyguard. They can't deny what's between them, heat remember. An action filled romance. Loved the all of these characters. Even Medjed left an impression. This will definitely be another hit for Ms. Gorri. I could not put it down. Book 2 couldn't come soon enough. This is my honest opinion of an advanced copy I received.

This first story in a new series set in the Federal Paranormal Unit universe is hilarious! Cute and fun, well written with lots of details. There are some serious moments, some danger and intrigue, but mainly it's about a wyvern shifter finding his mate. Jasper is arrogant, possessive, cheesy, and loving. Carolina is a celebrated artist, feisty, friendly, and in need of protection. This story is great, and I love how it sets things up for Jasper's brothers. Can't wait to read their stories!

Great addition to the Sci-Fi/Paranormal Romance genre!
The writing draws you in and keeps you involved throughout the whole story, I found myself in love with not only the characters but also the world she created.

This is the first book in the Wyvern Protection Unit series and it was an amazing read that I highly recommend. It's a fast paced action packed read full of drama, intrigue, suspense, twists, turns, enemies, survival, humor, hot alpha male with a wonderful romance that I enjoyed reading. The story was fun and exciting and Jasper and Caroline were amazing together.

Book one in the Wyvern Protection Unit series a well written paranormal suspense story that kept me turning pages. Wyvern Jasper Wessex, Carolina Moore. and Egyptian deity Medjed's story. There is suspense, drama, danger, twists, turns, and romance. I would like to see Medjed get a story of his own. I want to read the rest of this series. Always need a Wyvern!!
Well what can I say about the story other than it has a very hot Wyvern who doesn't like to be called a dragon...lol. It is a very cute story and has a little bit of action, but I wanted more. Toward the end of the story it fell really flat.
The bad guy wasn't what he seemed it the early part of the book. The ending needed more depth and excitement to it. The ending was way to rushed.

Gorri has crafted a fresh take on wyverns. As quasi government agents these four wyverns shifters handle tough bodyguard cases other paranormal units can't. They are the good guys, operating with honor and dedicated to saving their charges lives at the cost of their own, if necessary. This story has humor, suspense and drama, as well as plenty of romance. It's a quick read and a thoroughly satisfying first book in a new series. I am eagerly looking forward to reading more about these four brothers! Enjoy!

Jasper is assigned to protect her only to find his mate. Since she knows about shifters it should be easy right. Lol nope as he does not tell her. I really loved this book and cannot wait for the next one. This one brings you action, adventure, steam and a twist.

As always, I absolutely love Gorris books. She has delivered a short, sexy story with great characters. I also love how the story can be expanded with expounding on the other characters. I cannot wait to read about his brothers, his handler and also Medjed. This story has brief, but good character histories, action, adventure and love.

Quick fun read
I enjoyed that the heroine in this story wasn’t some nubile 20-something, but rather a 37 year old woman who knows herself and what she wants. Sure, she has insecurities and body issues (who doesn’t?), but she’s still a strong woman. The story is quick and pretty much insta-love (of course it is, it has shifters and a mate bound in it), but it’s a fast, fun read.

I have found a new shifter favorite. This book was amazing! It is a fast paced read with so much packed into one book...passion, action, suspense, romance, and so much more. It is a page turner you will not want to put down. I will definitely be reading books from this author.

Great story to begin a new series. I love the fact that this didn't take all day for this strong warrior to show his mate love. I also love the fact that plus size women are sexy too. Please tell more about Medjed, he interesting indeed. One question, why couldn't the demon enter the cabin in the beginning but he bought her gifts later in the story. Great job.

Have trust issues and trusting anyone to love you after so many disappointments is the hardest thing to do.
It was a shock to see what the demon did it was very unexpected but I love how the story turned out.
Thanks for the twist in the story, It made for a pleasant surprise.

If this had been a longer book with more room to flesh out the characters/story I think it would have developed into a great book.
It was a good quick read. Just enough to keep me wanting to thread the remaining brothers stories.
A few things annoyed me, the heroines lamenting her size/weight so often, using Vajay-jay to describe her sex really irked me.

The story felt rushed and there were several instances where the writing pulled me completely out of the story like slamming into a brick wall. For example, "You and your brothers are the light of my lives." This is being said by a non-supernatural human. We only have one life - we aren't cats!!! A good editor, or beta reader would have helped this story a LOT.
