Kaishi thinks the thing that crashed from the stars is the answer to her prayers. It has other ideas.
Caught between warring factions, Kaishi and her tribe face extinction. When a burning meteor lights up the night, Kaishi investigates and finds a voice with answers for everything, with secrets that could let Kaishi save her people. All Kaishi has to do is promise to follow Its orders.
But all promises have a price… unknown to Kaishi, a hunter comes from across the stars, seeking to take away Kaishi’s newfound hopes. A living weapon, this creature has one goal: kill what Kaishi found, and all who have touched it.

I spin stories in a frosty house in Madison, WI, primarily owned by a pair of cats. After getting sucked into the working grind in the economic crash of the 2008, I found myself spending boring meetings soaring through space and going on grand adventures.
Eventually, spending time with podcasting, screenplays, short stories and other novels, I found a story I could fall into and a cast of characters both entertaining and full of heart. That story became Wild Nines, and eventually became a trilogy.
I've got a basket, maybe even a barrel of ideas for more stories coming after these, so if you'd like to see what I'm scribing, feel free to visit me at adamrknight.com or sign up for my newsletter at http://bit.ly/bkbnewswn.
A world that resembles Earth in many ways, from Inca, Aztec like tribes and warriors to obsidian knives, Kurki's and various animals. To a fight in space over who survives a repilian species or an invasive symbiotic species that controls their hosts. And a young girl who somehow gets herself infected and now has a "God" in her head telling her what to do. Read and see.
This novel chronicles the life of Kaishi, a simple daughter of the priest of her primitive tribe, and Sax and his quartet of humanoids bent on scourging a parasitic species from the universe. At first, it feels like reading two unrelated narratives but then hints of their paths crossing come into play.
In depth world building and character construction make this book compelling. I may have benefited from drawings of some more complex species though.
This book is one of the most entertaining books I have read this year. R. KNIGHT DOES A good job of moving his characters on The sexual tension between the Empress and her General is down played on a scale of 1 thru 5 I rate this book 4.6
Interesting style alternating the two stories. Good cast of characters in both the storylines . Very different environments, one primitive and one space going. Looking forward to the next in the series.
Enjoyed the stories. They ran parallel, hinting at intersections that must wait for book two. Something of a double cliffhanger with both plot lines only partially resolved. “Maybe” rating due to violence against women.
