Hey, I’m Amy,
I write books for folks who crave laugh-out-loud paranormal mysteries. I help bring humor into readers’ lives. I’ve got a Pharm D in pharmacy, a BA in Creative Writing and a Masters in Life.
And when I’m not writing or chasing around two small children (one of which is four going on thirteen), I can be found antique shopping for a great deal, getting my roots touched up (because that’s an every four week job) and figuring out when I can get back to Disney World.
If you’re dying to know more about my wacky life, here are three things you don’t know about me.
—In college I spent a semester at Marvel Comics working in the X-Men office.
—I worked at Carnegie Hall.
—I grew up in a barbecue restaurant—literally. My parents owned one.

Happy reading!

So the second book in author Amy Boyles latest series, A Magical Renovation does not disappoint!

Clem is still adjusting to her best friend being gone, and the shock of who actually killer her and why, but she is soldering on. At least she didn't lose her business to the witch mafia, but at the same time that puts "John" in the middle of her life.

"John" is not all that he seems. He's a witch that lost his memory and is looking for a memory spell, but Clem knows of him before and is reluctant to help him regain his memory until she is certain that he has changed, but then if you have read any of the Sweet Tea Witches series you would already know what a changed man "John" is because he is actually Rufus! Love when a character crosses over to a new series.

This book has Clem cleansing a house and looking for a dead guy without a body that no one else thinks is dead. Of course she is going to get into trouble and of course "John" is there to help, but the old lady squad is in full display this book, and just when you think things are calming down you get thrown a sucker punch!

This is looking to be another excellent series by a fabulous writer. One that pulls you into that world and has you wanting to live there and not in the real world!

Clementine Decides to Find a Murder

Clementine is doing a renvovation for Harlow, Harlow is acting weird and finds her family is doing a cleaning of the home. They were getting the spell from Rufus/John, Knight didn't have the money at that point. They will do it later at night so that Knight can get the money. Clementine joins the cleansing, but things turn terribly wrong. Knight collapses and there is a knife sticking out of him.
Clementine decides that she will find the killer, that bodies don't just disappear. There are a few obvious suspects but how is going to figure out who did the crime. While dealing with this. Clementine has to come to terms with her anger at Rufus/John. She also is seeing him in a different light. They have it out and she feels better. Clementine is sticking to her decision, she will wait to see what man he is now without his memory.

This was a fun and entertaining read with unique characters. Clementine has decisions to make in finding the killer, working with her magic and what to do about Rufus. She will be walking a tightrope until she can see her way clear of things.

Entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series

This is a supernatural cozy mystery series that is extraordinarily entertaining. A great cast of characters and a fun and entertaining storyline. Clementine is a witch who grew up not knowing about magic because her mother did not have it. Her parents did not live around other magical‘s. When she turned 18 she moved to a magical community to learn about magic. Something unfortunate happened and she decided to move away from magic to a normal old town in the south. She opened up a business to renovate homes with a friend who is recently murdered and now she’s on her own in her business. Summer magic has began appearing around a little town and now many other new secrets are coming out. Read on and find out what other mysteries and secrets she will find out.

Another fun adventure with Clem and John/Rufus. The mystery plot was better in this one than the first book, and I enjoyed the investigation and trying to guess who the culprit was. I continue to find the spell = orbs thing a little confusing, as I don't know how people's magic got put into random orbs in random fields, but I'm still enjoying our characters interacting with the various spells. There was a somewhat surprising (but I kinda saw it coming) reveal in the very last chapter, and I'm looking forward to seeing how that plays out in the next book. Amy Boyles' books are always a fun quick ride, and her characters are engaging. We got a lot more of the "senior brigade" in this one as well, which has also become a staple of the author's works. Fun southern charm with a bit of home renovation.

What drew me to the series to begin with was the adorable dachshund on the cover, so imagine how happy I am now that she talks. Long story short, read the first book lol. Clem's newest renovation had her working on a cottage, then one of the cleansers ended up being dead...but was he really dead or just faking it was the million dollar question for Clem and her neighbor Malene's friends who liked helping her sleuth.

Those ladies cracked me up when they went on a stakeout! And Lady the dachsie continued to make me laugh with her cute and snarky dialogue. I had a feeling I knew part of what was going on, but there was another whole part I never suspected. These first two books have been such fun reads, so I plan to keep borrowing the series on Kindle Unlimited.

Clem is really starting to like John more than she’d like. She is realizing that maybe he isn’t so evil and does have a good heart, but will that only be until she surrenders the orb under her bathroom sink? That is what she is afraid of. She is also holding onto something that is preventing John’s freedom. She knows it’s wrong, but she is sort of in a bind on that one.

As I’ve suspected from book 1, Malene holds a mystery of her own that Clem never even thought to question her about. It is actually something I’ve considered and had the feeling she is someone else entirely.

Next book is the 3rd called “Demolition Premonition”. Review coming soon…

Fun, laugh out loud!!!😀

So glad I found Amy Boyles!!!😁 I just finished Renovation Spell, books 1& 2, and I can't wait to find out what happens next. (But I guess I will wait until October.🙂) Both books are funny and suspenseful. I found myself laughing out loud numerous times and yet I was often on the edge of my seat, as well!!😉 Thankfully I see that Amy has written a lot of other books and series, so here I go; on to the next fun read!!!!!!!😄

Lots of unexpected twist

I never know what to expect from Amy Boyle's but I know that it will be a great read. I like that she writes authentic southern dialect and doesn't go overboard. I'm from rural North Alabama and she has the details a real southern life spot on accurate. The mysteries are always unique and creative with this book especially with a great plot.

Hilarious! I love how Amy Boyles brings her characters to life. I’ve lived in the south all my life and any one of these characters could be a family member or friend. Love the intrigue, love the paranormal element, love the crossover character from her other series (Sweet Tea Witches). I breezed through it too quickly and now I have to wait (not so patiently) for the next installment!

Disappointed

I usually enjoy this author’s books, but this series falls flat for me. The main character is very immature and I just don’t find her likable, so I can’t really get invested in the mystery or storyline and I definitely don’t want to see a romance between her & Rufus. I’m done with this series.

Loving This Series!

I absolutely love Clem and her dog Lady. I can't wait for Rufus to find out who he is so him and Clem can move forward. I wanted Rufus to find someone in the Sweet Tea series and it looks like he finally has in this series. Can't wait for them to get through all the bumps they are headed toward.

Okay! I admit I'm hooked on this magical, cozy mystery. Renovation Spells has another fresh plot & relatable characters as well as some quirky secondary ones and they are well defined. Plus some surprise twists that kept me turning pages like crazy. So yes, I highly recommend this clean must read to fans of fiction of all ages & I already clicked on the next two!

Awesome read

In this book by Amy Boyles Clementine sees a murder during a cleansing of a house but she is the only one that sees the knife sticking out of Knights chest. Then the body disappears and she is the only one that believes a crime was committed. I lived reading this and was surprised by the ending.

A talking Dachshund, spells of different colored orbs, disappearing bodies, and a burgeoning romance, Oh My! The characters are fun and endearing. The plot is straightforward and easily followed, and the premise is finding out what happened to the body and getting the renovation done. I do recommend this book.

This is a fun storyline set in the South with paranormals and humans in a small town. The plot and subplots move quickly with twists that makes it hard to put the book down. Can't wait for the next installment!

I really like these characters and their backstory. I love how Clem and "John" are getting along. Talking dog, love it. The mystery is fun, not dark. Actually was surprised by the last chapter

Cute series so far! A little mystery, a little love story, some family drama... Quick reads, just be mindful, each seems to have a bit of a cliffhanger making it hard not to read the next one 😉 a bit of "binge-reading" if you will...!

Wonderful!

This is a well devised, fun story. I like the tension in Clem's and "John's" relationship, and I think the senior trio are a hoot! The mystery perfectly illustrates the art of making the simple unnecessarily complex. And that ending...!

Sit a spell

Another fun read from Amy Boyle's! Between solving a crime, dealing with town folk, figuring out her feelings for a good looking wizard it's surprising she can fit in time for making a living! This is another light read that's worth the time to enjoy.

Second in a cozy series

A good follow-up to the first book in this series, Witcher-Upper. (Punny titles abound in the world of cozies.) It’s nice to revisit this pleasant community, and I look forward to reading book 3.

I'm getting into the stories - this was an interesting mystery, with a few twists and turns. Only a small irritation with the continual use of southern accent spellings Y'all . . . looking forward to the next instalment! Nice gentle read.
