IT’S TIME TO KILL THE GOD OF JEALOUSY!

Stranded in a new world, Yota knows what he must do: kill the jealous god who cursed the women in his new home to die young! He sets off on a journey to do just that, but is waylaid by girls, golems, and a sudden tragedy. The mortal Last Moon curse has come early for one of Yota’s friends, and there’s nothing anyone can do to save her. And then, when he mates with Lilia, the mark to show she’s cured mysteriously fails to appear!

This volume was part of my manga reading vlog on YouTube, where I give more of my impressions on this book. Feel free to subscribe to my channel.

This series continues to be a very sexy romp in an alternate world. It isn't your generic isekai. The main character doesn't have obvious overpowered skills, and that makes it more grounded and easier for suspended belief to hold. The female warriors in this harsh world are the real deal and the main character, though he may be a trained martial artist, is by comparison soft, having been raised in a more convenient world where young women don't die when they reach the age of twenty.

This is indeed a guilty pleasure for me.

Oh, wow. I didn't even notice every girl had two little beads on their head, until Haru's cracked. Damn, I'm dumb. Or just was distracted by the boobs and stuff. Or, I guess, in fairness, Okamoto didn't call attention to them until now.

Haru's death was actually more impactful than I expected. Okamoto lured us in with harem zaniness as a Trojan horse.

Chapter 24 is hilarious. I thought the drunken orgy was going to be something like the Fountain of Desire of three girls warping Yota's perception and hypnotizing him into staying in the town... but that doesn't happen, and he leaves after the next chapter.

Anyway, more Big Things happen. Okamoto is clearly interested in building the mystery rather than just making a simple ecchi series. Lilia doesn't get a ring around her neck after Yota fucks her (several times). Haru dies six months before her expected Last Moon. Yota and Rumi encounter a Terra Golem en route to Reel, but the Golem aggros against Yota, unlike the Karu who fled from him. One of the guardians of Reel, Pinako, suspects a male in the world, and appears to serve the Jealous God. The god of Reel, also called Reel, informs Yota and Rumi that the Jealous God is already dead.

This is getting kind of gross… and Yota seems to think he’s a good person but he’s really not. Yuck.
