God designed us to be in relationship with others. When handled well, friendship among girls can be one of the most valuable and rewarding parts of their lives, laying the foundation for healthy friendships as adults. These early interactions shape the way girls view themselves and others and will continue to influence them throughout their lives, positively or negatively. The devotions in 100 Daily Acts of Friendship for Girls will allow girls to explore the rewards and challenges of building quality friendships both now and in the future.
Also included are 50 sidebars with activities that provide practical ideas for creating and sustaining strong friendships.
Kendra Roehl is described by her father as a "defender of the weak" and is always looking for those who fall through the gaps and are in need of help. Her natural inclination toward the hurting has segued first into a career as a clinical social worker, then as a foster and adoptive mom, and now as a writer and speaker. She believes wholeheartedly that loving God and others should shape all aspects of our lives, and she's certain that small acts of kindness can truly change the world. Kendra writes and speaks regularly in her community and at her home church, and she volunteers as an advisor for Bridging the Gap, a Christian women's organization in Minnesota that offers godly support through resources, conferences, and leadership development. Kendra loves lazy evenings at home with her family, playing spirited card games with friends and neighbors, and dreaming about trips to take with her husband. You can find Kendra writing honestly about topics such as marriage, motherhood, foster care and adoption, and social justice on her blog at www.theruthexperience.com.
This devotional has great depth, while also not overwhelming girls with too much to digest in each reading. Each day includes a bible verse, short devotional, some questions to think about, and an action to put the truth into practice throughout the day. Many days include a "Friendship in Action" section that includes a fun activity or helps the reader go a little bit deeper-- this section had so many great ideas!! The devotions include topics like how much God loves us, speaking truth over fear, loving our siblings, celebrating our differences, and including someone who is new instead of them being left out. It is very practical and full of great advice and things to think about. I would HIGHLY recommend this to those seeking to put feet on their faith and live out their love for Jesus day to day!
As a professional counselor, previous school crisis counselor, and school middle school counselor, I can’t recommend this book highly enough. The number one issue I encounter when I talk to moms and girls in this age range is their friendship struggles, drama, and how much it impacts their sense of self. This devotional blends biblical truth with great practical suggestions to allow girls to stretch out in faith and build solid relationships and heal from ones that have gone wrong.

A beautiful book containing age appropriate stories for girls (aged 8-13) around friendship. It is biblical- being full of quotes and thought provoking questions. My daughter and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading a devotion most nights. This book has prompted questions and discussions that wouldn't normally arise. I love the intentionality of teaching my daughter to be the friend she wants to have. Ultimately, friendship is built on kindness and love, these components are biblical foundations. I highly recommend this read for your young girls.
I was privileged to read an early copy of this book. It is an amazing book if you have young ladies in your life. This book helps them learn to create and engage in positive friendships. This will lead them to have better friendships as adults too. Friendships are such an important part of having a good life and living as we should. Even as an adult female I learned things for me. I highly recommend this book.
Navigating friendship can be challenging at any age, but especially for young girls. This book is a wonderful resource, filled with scripture, encouragement and relatable stories. Each day has a section listed of things to think about and an act of friendship. This book is thought-provoking and filled with wisdom that can be put into practice. Truly a beautiful guide for girls to foster positive, healthy friendships.
As a mom of girls (4) I totally love this book. I read it with my 13 year old and it’s transforming the way that she interacts with her friends and helps her understand how and why I interact with my friends the way that I do. I also love that there’s accountability built into the devotional. Our girls learn from this devotional biblical friendship.
FYI: I received a copy of this book as a member of the launch team in exchange for my honest opinion.
Teaching our daughters how to be a good friend is SO important! This is the perfect devotional to read during breakfast as you start your day, or to read together at bedtime. The daily devotionals are short yet intentional. There’s a Bible verse and real life scenario each day followed by guidance on how to be a good friend in that situation. There also a few questions at the end to prompt discussion. What a helpful and important tool! Can’t recommend enough :-)
100 Daily Acts of Friendship for Girls is a great encouragement to young girls for deep, strong friendships. It teaches them to become good friends to others and to grow in those friendships. It's also a great opportunity for Moms and daughters to grow in faith and friendship together. I like the heart behind the book and how you can feel the faith and strength and friendship on each page.
This book is perfect for equipping young- tween girls to build healthy friendships! I'm reading with my girls (ages 9 & 11) and discussing how we can all be more thoughtful friends. Thanks for creating an essential tool for raising up strong, kind, emotionally healthy girls who are prepared to build God-honoring friendships.
My daughter and I look forward to our devotional every night. This book has helped start great conversations and is such a great way to end our day... always coming back to our creator and his intentions for our relationships. Highly recommend this cute book!
This beautiful book is for young ladies (suggested for ages 8-12) to go through as they navigate friendships in their life. The authors do a fantastic job, in each daily devotion, of describing a story that invites the reader in, allowing her to imagine herself in the scenario and think about how she might respond or react.
In some of the devotions, the authors delve into some inner character traits to practice, while other devotions focus on outward skills, and still others go over specific trials that commonly arise within a friendship.
Most importantly, each devotion points the reader to Jesus, reminding her that these things are only possible through the relationship we have with Him and when we allow Him to guide us and direct us.
Mamas, this is a must-read for your daughters! I believe it will help to spur on a new generation of mature, confident, & kind young ladies.
I am super excited to read this book with my daughter! Ive been reading it my self and I am excited to use this with her and her friends in the future!
These amazing authors did it again! Love this book and I love how it will continue help my daughters grow in go kind, loving individuals while navigating the hard times of a young life.
I am currently reading this as a part of the launch team. It is an honor to be able to share this book with my daughter. It has been such a great daily time with her.
Wonderful book to get ideas of kindness for girls of all ages. Each day there is an idea to be friendly such as this one. "Look for someone who is new, whether at school, at church, or in the neighborhood, and be willing to say hello and include them in your group."
I had the privilege to read an early copy. This is perfect for my 13 year old daughter. The scenarios are perfect for the middle school age. Acting in kindness in these situations is so important to learn at this age!
What an excellent resource for pre-teen girls. Great devotional readings to help girls navigate the many issues that come up in friendships. Issues that you'll recognize if you have daughters, or granddaughters, or for that matter, have ever been a little girl. Guess what my granddaughters are getting for Christmas?
*I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
This is a fantastic book for girls in the tween years who are building friendships. The book consists of daily readings that encourage girls to build friendships in positive, Godly ways. The book will help girls avoid the mistakes many of us have made and encourage them to be better friends.
This book is so amazing and great for girls to learn some important things as they go through life with friendships. Keeping God at the focal point and giving them real life scenarios to help guide the way. Highly recommend!!
100 Daily Acts of Friendship for Girls is a must have book for moms and pre-teen daughters (grades 3 to 6 I would say) to read together. It's filled with short stories that reflect many important life lessons and how to handle friendships the way Jesus would want. Each reading gives some questions to spark further discussion, along with simple but thoughtful tangible acts that can help foster good friendships. Even as a mom I have been inspired by this book.
100 Daily Acts of Friendship for Girls is a sweet book in devotional style (100 days) geared towards young ladies and how they can have healthy friendships! Each day gives a short story about a situation friends are facing and a tidbit of GOd’s truth about that situation. It includes a verse and a daily act of friendship suggestion. It encourages healthy relationships with God, friends, and family! This is truly the sweetest book for growing / maturing girls that I have seen recently and it will certainly help guide them into making lifelong & lasting friendships. So many different, real life situations are portrayed through this devotional that it will surely resonate with young ladies and help them think through the situations they may be facing! What a great, encouraging, and inspirational book the authors have put together!! Love that this will be on our bookshelf for years to come and that we can share it with all our friends!
I have loved diving into the 100 Daily Acts of Friendship for Girls. My daughter is in those confusing-to-navigate middle school years and sometimes I am at a loss with how to sit back and listen instead of always trying to 'fix' friendships that are not working smoothly. This is another sound resource for her to turn to when she's looking for ways to encourage her girl tribe, learn from others experiences and know how to lift her friends up when they are down. I am anxious to give it to her for Easter!
I had the privilege of being on an early release team to read Friendship for girls and I have to say this is an incredible tool for any parent, educator or mentor of pre-teen girls. It has encouraged me as a mother, made me think about my response to my own girls questions on friendship and how to encourage them in the journey. I wish I could have had a tool like this 30+ years ago!
This is a great devotion for anyone with a pre-teen or teenage girl in their life. Each of the daily devotions shares a story and something to think about in regards to building friendships, inspired by God's Word. I love how the devotions include a way to apply the story to their life and friendships; the "Daily Act of Friendship" is great for all ages to practice.
This book covers every topic a girl could encounter and offers great examples, advice and activities to incorporate the ideas discussed. It evens resonates with a 40-something.
