One night changed an entire town.
I lost everything the night of the Hawk Valley bonfire.
The ghosts of my past kept me inside the town limits, though I dreamed of faraway places.

He was the town golden boy. Son of the mayor. Firefighter and local hero. I was the girl from the wrong side of town and still paying for my father’s sins. I tried to stay away from our local hero, but he kept popping up everywhere. He singed my nerves, but every time we bickered, I only wanted to kiss him.

The unexpected passion between us turned into a blazing inferno. A promise of only one night turned into two. Until we couldn’t stop.

I thought there was nothing left to lose.
But when the past came back to burn us, I realized I never knew what I had...

One night changed everything for Adeline. For Foster. But mostly for Adeline. She lost her entire family that night, and decades later, she's still haunted by their loss. But her life isn't bad, she runs a bookstore, she's got new friends, and a new guy, well not so new, as they've known of each other since high school, is intent on charming his way into her scarred heart. She just has to decide if she's ready to face her fears and let Foster in.

Inferno is sizzling hot with chemistry, with emotions, with suspense. I loved Adeline and Foster together, but the real standout for me was Adeline. She's so strong and has the biggest, kindest heart even after all that she's suffered through. I love how determined Foster was to be with her, never backed down from making her his. Altogether a fantastic love story.

Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Trigger Warnings: Domestic abuse, child abuse, Amityville-like situation, young deaths.

Adeline was someone to sympathise for and root for better things to come for. Coming from a tragic family situation, you'd have to commend her for still standing up and making her own path in life. Not everyone makes it out alive when dealt with a bad hand from life. Foster could be sympathised for as well, considering the restrictions he has to try and break, and still with great difficulty build his own path in life.

No one would have rooted harder for them to get together as a couple, more than me. Seriously, the chemistry, the banter, and emotional bond they formed, was something to be quite emotional and deliriously happy over.

And such were my own emotions. I loved them real well, and hoped the book would never end. But alas, such wishes were not fufilled.

Oh well, on to better and more beautiful reads.

Until the next read,

4 star Review Inferno (Burn Series #3) by Emma Renshaw

Emma Renshaw is a new author to me and I have absolutely no idea why I have not come across this author before. Although this is the third book in the series, I was able to read this book, however I think I would have gotten a better enjoyment with this book if I had read the previous books in the series.
My heart broke for all that Foster and Adeline have lost. All it takes is one moment in time to change the course of your life. It defines who you are and how you live your life.
The connections between these two is strong and the push and pull of their relationship was intriguing to read as it blossomed. There is suspense and intrigue which added an additional layer to the story and when time permits I plan to read the other books in the series.
This is at times an emotional story that will draw you in and keep you invested from the first to the last chapter.

Inferno by Emma Renshaw was a sweet and emotional romance about new beginning after the life is burnt down to ashes. It was a good read with wonderful characters and warm feels.

Adeline has been scarred forever by the family tragedy that took away her mother and siblings. She has never really stopped grieving. At thirty years of age, she has a good life with bunch of new friends and a wealthy surprise comes her way. Her life is going to change and their small town's golden boy firefighter Foster is determined to be a part of her new life.

Adeline's character was pretty strong. Since she was a kid, she suffered abuse and pain and she constantly tried to protect her siblings but lost the battle. I cannot imagine the effect this kind of trauma can leave in her heart. She is understandably scared to take risks, let people in and go to adventures. But Foster is not going to back down. This charming man is ready to prove to her that she isn't alone. And I loved reading about his sweet protective side. Adeline does have the biggest heart and I am amazed at her soul's beauty. Their chemistry was on fire. The story has a side of suspense and drama those consolidated their connection.

I enjoyed the inspiring emotions and swoony sexy moments in Inferno by Emma Renshaw.

I was not prepared. If the prologue was any indication of what this story was going to put me through I would’ve somehow warned my heart of the emotional ride it’d be put through.

On a night where it should’ve been meant for celebration Adeline and Forster’s lives drastically changed, one for the better while the other was worse beyond belief.

Adeline and Foster were both searching for something neither thought was attainable. Though after their first encounter there was no mistaking the spark they both felt and the undeniable connection that would soon follow. It wasn’t easy, but slowly Foster started to break down Adeline’s walls and earn her trust. I loved Adeline’s independence though I also commended her for accepting help and that it wasn’t a weakness to need somebody but a reward to have someone in her corner. The romance between Adeline and Foster was electric and beautiful.

Inferno brought the suspense as well as the intrigue. This emotional story was filled to the brim with heart. I enjoyed this group of friends just as much as I adored Adeline and Foster. An all-around heartwarming read packed with tenderness and sweet moments.

This was a good read. The night of the bonfire was tragic for Adeline and not in the same way as it was for the others. Her family was all murdered. This made her life complicated. Foster and her literally run into each other. They begin as friends but as time goes on they become more. On top of all this she has to deal with random stuff happening to her and comes to find out someone is after her. Luckily everything is taken care of and they get their happy ending.

High school graduation is supposed to be a milestone that is celebrated, yet for the graduating class of Hawk Valley, a tragic bonfire made it a time of mourning. And for senior, Addie Hansen, a house fire on the same night ripped her family away, leaving her completely alone but always under the shadow of her no-good father’s reputation.

Foster Cunningham may come from a high society family with trust-fund expectations, but the tragedy of the bonfire changed him. That night he committed his life to helping people, first enlisting in the military and then becoming a fire fighter when he returned to Hawk Valley. He and Addie come from different worlds, but after an accident caused by a deer they seem to run into each other all over town, and just maybe, they’re not all that different from each other.

Addie is used to relying only on herself. She may have made some good friends in a few of our favorite heroines and their men, and ironically, an ornery old man, but she doesn’t want to burden them with her life. It's not until Foster blazes into her life, yet careful with his actions, that she comes to realize the support she has. And when someone seems intent on doing her harm, she'll need all the help she can get.

I’m not sure how it's possible, but this book is even better than the last! There's charm and humor amidst the heartbreak and suspense, and I loved seeing Addie and Foster really connect and build something truly special. The loss of Addie's family is heart wrenching, but seeing her realize a family is also those you hold in your heart and living her life to honor those she lost is so uplifting and inspiring!

Small-town charm, quirky but compelling characters, nail-biting suspense and a fulfilling forever love all make this phenomenal, emotive read one you absolutely won’t want to pass up. Run to the 1-Click and fall in love with these bewitching characters today!

OH MY HEART!!!
I couldn't tell you how many times my heart broke in this one! The author did an absolutely amazing job grasping my mind in the prologue which is a HUGE bonus for me!
11% in and I was HOOKED.
COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!!!

Adeline has had me intrigued since I read Ember (book 1) and she was just a little side character. I just could not figure her out but the moment I read the prologue in Inferno, my mind racing to see what all was going to happen all the while my heart was slowly shattering for the heroine of this story. It wasn't just the prologue though, you could FEEL her pain throughout the entire story. It wasn't as if something traumatic happened and then she moved on with her life. Her life was spent remembering and honoring the ones that meant so much to her....and along the way this infuriating sexy firefighter fought his way into her heart and set up shop! I've loved Foster's carefree and joking personality from the very beginning. Little did I know he was fighting his own battles beneath the surface but the strength this hero showed through the entire story made me fall head over heels for him & his heroine! The banter between these two is one thing I live for in romances.
I never saw the twist in this one coming. Not until it slapped me in the face. Normally I can figure them out and piece it together as I read...kudos to Emma Renshaw for keeping me engrossed until the last page!
AND THAT ENDING!!!!!! LOVE!!!!!

Now I just need Makenna & Colt's! Because I've been feeling that tension since book 1 and OMG! Glad there are firefighters in this world! Smolder is coming April 20th and I CAN'T WAIT!

The way this series is written is that you can read any or all of the books. Each book is a different couple and the plot for each book surrounds one heartbreaking night that affects each character in some way. So you can read any of the books without the others but I really recommend reading the entire series to get the full effect of the entire crew.

Oh my stars. As we delve deeper into Hawk Valley with the Burn series, you really get a broader picture of everything that had been endured on that fateful night. My heart ached so so much for both Adeline and Foster. How much they both lost that night. But it changed both of them. Especially Foster. My stars, what a swoon worthy alpha. All he wants to do is have his own way in life and distance himself from his crazy family. With Adeline, she is still haunted from that night with everything that happened and I just wanted to hug her. But oh she is a fighter even with all her fears. The connection these two have even if it was all by collisions, was absolutely perfect. They sizzle and spark. They just get each other and I could not get enough of it.
As a whole, I lived for this story. Out of all the books so far, I think Foster has my heart. Granted, I could keep all of them because Renshaw writes such a great alpha. There is an unbelievable push and pull between these characters, an intense and suspenseful backstory and all these little twists that will blow your mind. Now I seriously need Colt’s story because I just know that one will be just as intense as others!

Yessss! This was a beautiful love story, with just enough thrill to keep me from figuring out the twists. Absolutely beautiful.
Our disinherited fireman and a plucky girl running the bookstore.
I loved the camaraderie between the cast, the friends adopting and taking care of one another as if they were always together.
I didn’t read the others in the series, but you can bet I’m going back to do so, because I think I’m gonna love the rest as much as I love Foster and Adeline.

This author hasn’t disappointed me since I started reading her books. More precisely this series. I don’t know about her other books but the books in this series have been good so far.

The heroines are not weak or pathetic, don’t get wet and become a mess in front of the hero. Which I love!!
This couple’s banter had me smiling a little bit. Some readers categorized this as enemies to lovers. I didn’t think they were enemies but that’s just ME. Don’t bring out the “pitchforks” just yet😂

The book is on the short side compared to the previous ones and it’s slow burn. One tiny complaint. I wanted more couple time.

Anyway.. I enjoy reading this couple. The hero is likeable but the heroine was good one for me.

Safety:

~They have known each other but never really interacted when they were in high school, he had a gf, both have been with others since then.
~A bit of OM drama from one of the man she dated. No OW drama.

Disclamer:
**Some GR members (you know who you are, not worth mentioning your profile names) think I hate all the books. 😏🤣 i only hate books that have weak, doormat and pathetic heroines. They say that I have no right to read books that I hate. 😏 please, like they pay for my books. News flash, I can read what I want, when I want, and rate them how I want. The day you pay for my books then maybe you’ll have a right, but in the meantime sit the fuck down, don’t be pathetic and kindly fuck off!** 😏

And I think this will be my disclaimer from now on! 😂😂

I wanted to cry for Adeline before the end of the first chapter. And then I wanted to cry for her a few more times. She was so utterly lonely, even in a crowded room, and spent her life afraid of living. Foster walked away from the life he was expected to have and eventually ran right into he life he was meant for...literally. He and Adeline had such chemistry and conflict all at once that I knew it was just a matter of time before Foster got the girl. He just had to convince Adeline that taking a risk was worth the reward and that she needed to truly breathe in order to live.

And then there’s the matter of what or who is out to get Adeline. And why. Emma did a fantastic job of making me think one thing while wondering another for a while, to the point that when it all came together and exploded, I was surprised by the amount of deviousness at work. This was all so well done that I’m a little upset I’ve hit the last page. Now to wait for the next couple and their story...as patiently as I can.

Oh my!

Foster and Adeline have know of each other since they were in school. Remember that giant fire we have ‘seen’ at the beginning of each story? That’s where this story begins as well. Foster is changed by the fire and Adeline is changed from something else that same night.

Fast forward twelve years and after getting some unexpected news on her 30th birthday, Adeline is rear ended by Foster.
Poor Adeline. If she didn’t have bad luck she wouldn’t have any luck.
But, maybe it’s the best thing to ever happen to her?!?!
She just doesn’t know it yet.
Guess what? His best friend is her best friend’s fiancé. Know what that means??? That means they get to keep running into each other.

This story was well written with well defined characters just like the other stories in this series. I literally could not put it down and read it in one night.
You can read this one all on it’s own since each story features a different couple within this group of friends.

Great job Emma!

Wow! This book packs a punch to start! That’s one way to pull the readers in....I loved Foster and Adeline’s story! I think this is my favorite couple so far! Although I probably say that every time I read the next book in this series! The banter between the two of them is so fun to read and I’m pretty sure I had a smile on my face every time I read those parts! It was so hard to read about Adeline’s past but it was so heartwarming to see how she pulled herself up and didn’t let herself sink into those same habits that she learned growing up. And Foster was brave enough to get himself away from his parents and their influence. And in the end we get a great story with two extremely sweet characters and their group of friends! Such a good book! If you haven’t started this series I highly recommend it! It’s got sweet and sexy moments and suspenseful moments! It’s got a bit of everything!

This series continues to get better and better with every new release.
Emma Renshaw comes out swinging right from the very beginning with Inferno. I sobbed my way through the prologue and she took my battered little heart and put it back together piece by tiny little piece with every word of Adeline and Foster's story. Take that as fair warning to have the tissues ready because this book is a freaking journey of emotions. Heartbreaking pasts, swoon filled romance, brilliant wit and banter...Inferno has it all and then some!

Inferno is another brilliant novel by the amazing Emma Renshaw! I love these characters so much and I am so happy that Emma writes such beautiful stories that incorporates all of them. Seeing them pop up in her stories makes my heart so happy. Adeline and Foster have amazing chemistry and I love how sassy she is with him. Foster accepts her for who she is and wants to help her not change her. That’s the kind of man I dream of. Foster is strong, protective and helps to make her dreams come true. What could be a better story than that? Plus throwing in my favorite characters from the previous books always makes me smile. I love seeing where they are in their journey. Their friendship is what I would love to have in my own life. This is a beautiful heartwarming story that you’ll love to read!

I have completely loved every book that Emma Renshaw has written and this one is no different. Adeline and Foster have a push/pull dynamic that makes their adult story that much sweeter after a "bumpy" beginning. Foster is so patient and swoony with a damaged but strong Adeline. I would really enjoy getting to see some of the snow globes Adeline has collected, especially the last addition! I am so in love with this group of people! I want to live in Hawk Valley and see them all every day.

FOR-A-FULL-REVIEW-VISIT

MY RATING: 1.5*
RELEASE DATE: 23 February 2021
CLIFFHANGER: No

ARC was kindly provided for an honest review

You know when you’ve read a book but are a bit iffy on whether you should review it or not because it just didn’t grip you the way, the way, and therefore, don’t even know what to say about it? Yeah? That’s me right now. And once again I find myself in a position where I’m the only one who didn’t have their socks knocked off.

While my preference is normally dark, crazy ass romance books with stories that have you wearing your “what the fuck” face throughout, every now and then I like to cleanse my palate as it were with something a bit more, normal shall we say. And that’s why I read this book. But unfortunately, that means, the palate cleanser book has to be the shit. So that plays a big role on my feelings about the book. So, take my review with a pinch of salt because many readers clearly loved it.

The book started off strong. As soon as I read the prologue, I was excited with the direction of traffic. But then

description

So, let’s start with what I loved. I loved Adeline. She was quiet, sweet, kind and just a beautiful soul who had been dealt a shitty hand by life. And she soldered through albeit with the burden of trying to live an invisible life which resulted her in not living at all. Foster? I really wanted to love him. I mean I didn’t hate him, but he’s not my kind of man. Dare I say, he was too sweet. Listen, if I’m going to read books like these, then I’m going to love men I wouldn’t normally fuck with in real life. Okay? And I love myself a fictional hard; basically asshole man.

description

As for the story itself? It was...well not for me. It was sooo slow and honestly just could have been better. The romance was underwhelming. I mean when Foster and Adeline finally got together, they was not one conversation about their high school days or anything. Even a reference to when they bumped into each other on the night of the fire. Nothing. Then he decided, rather too quickly that he wanted her, forgetting that he never even knew of her existence when they were in class together or the 12 years after. As for Foster, seriously his parents were minted enough to have trust funds and shit. He just walked away from that and they just let him? I mean it would have been nice to see some angst, some tension or something to show that the ‘rents were not happy. Not just the 2 lines that his mother said on the street and his father whispered at the ceremony. I needed more. Furthermore, you mean to tell me, that a fire kills a man who has killed 5 of his kids and their mother, and the popo just ASSUMED it was him? Nobody bothered to do any tests to verify that it was infact the perpetrator?

description

description

Also, how did Julian know about Adeline’s father all this time while the popo didn’t even bother verifying? I don’t know. As I said others loved it, but it just lacked whatever it is I needed for it to grab me and have me connect. I did in fact skip quite a few pages if I'm honest.

Overall Grade: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Emma Renshaw has done it again with the release of her newest Burn Series book, Inferno. To be honest, of the first three books, I think Inferno is my favorite, which is a compliment, given that the first two books are such fantastic stories.

In Inferno, Foster finally gets his moment The story begins with Adeline “Addie” and Foster on the night of the high school bonfire that leads to tragedy. What we find out quickly is that Addie’s own world is also changed that night through her own personal tragedy. The story skips forward a decade to the lives that Foster and Addie currently lead. When their paths cross one fateful day, they find themselves drawn to each other. As Addie’s life becomes endangered, Foster lives to protect her. Will they find out who is trying to harm her before anything happens to her?

I think what I loved most about Inferno over the other two stories is Renshaw’s protection of Addison. As a warning, the tragedy of Addie’s past is a difficult one, and it causes her to hide through life. In the first two books of this series, Renshaw causes quite a bit of drama for her couples. Yet, given the trauma of Addie’s story, she withholds the drama within her couple. What this allows for is a focus on the suspense storyline instead. I loved that I didn’t become anxious for Foster and Addie’s coupling; instead, Renshaw creates tension in other aspects of the story.

Additionally, Foster is the type of hero you can’t help but love. He is protective, insightful, and compassionate. Since Addie has hidden through life, he forces her into “living.” He shows her how living an abundant life is a tribute to her lost loved ones, and it’s a reminder to Renshaw’s readers that a life lived is far better than one that is safe.

Lastly, Addison’s story will tug at your heart. From the first chapter, Renshaw captured me because she made Addie’s story both heartwrenching and beautiful in tragic ways. I couldn’t help but need to read her story because Renshaw makes us want so much for her.

Honestly, I could return time and time again to Hawk Valley. Emma Renshaw’s characters feel like friends. Once again, she has written a compelling, romantic suspense of a story that will cause you to fall in love with Foster and Addie. But there is also a promise of more. If you love stories that show the beauty of a life born of ashes, then you will definitely want Inferno.

Tears, tears and more tears. Emma Renshaw hit me in the emotional feels with this third book in the Burn series.

We return to Hawk Valley where one night changes the lives of an entire town and even though this is the third time I've experienced the bonfire, I was crying by the end of it.

Emma Renshaw knows how to turn something old into something new and make it even more emotional each time I relive it.

Adeline and Foster had very different experiences growing up. Foster is known as the golden boy in Hawk Valley, the son of the Mayor, he has expectations thrust upon him to follow in his father's footsteps. The night of the bonfire changes his outlook in life and the course of his life. As much as he doesn't regret making his own life choices, he does wish he wasn't thrust into his father's spotlight when it served his purposes.

Adeline grew up in poverty, fearful everyday how her father would react as he lost himself to drinking. The night of the bonfire she lost her entire world and years later she's still lost in a cycle of grief. Years pass and she hasn't gone anywhere, stuck in the hometown that took her family, but still dreaming of what could be if she had the courage to take chances. Her snowglobe collection is the closest she comes to dreaming, until she receives news that changes her entire life.

These two souls may have come from different worlds, but they are also more alike than they even realize when they first meet up. Opposite sides of the same coin. Looking for acceptance and love regardless of their background or life circumstances. It may have taken twelve years for them to finally speak to one another again, but once they do their connection is electric and they both help one another regain something they thought they could never have.

Adeline and Foster brought me to tears so many times, I was a total mess by the time I finally came to the end. Inferno is by far Emma's most emotional book in this series. It can be read as a complete standalone.

So obsessed with this author and this series! I have loved all of Emma’s books, but this series is just on another level and I can’t get enough! Addie and Foster grew up in the same town but on different sides of it, and their paths never crossed even though they were in school together, until the night of the bonfire. Addie snuck out while Foster was hoping that his life would change in college and not be under his father’s thumb. Everything changed that night for these two – Foster found his calling as a firefighter and first responder and took steps in his life to do just that even though it meant being disowned from his family, and Addie lost everything when her father murdered her mother and her siblings leaving her the only survivor. Years later, Addie is still the girl from the wrong side of town and living under her horrible father’s legacy, while Foster is living his dream and hearing about it from his parents. When these two finally meet again, sparks fly but Addie is hesitant because of her past and how the town still looks at her, even though she’s done nothing to deserve it. My heart truly broke for Addie, so much so that I found myself having to read this with a box of tissues next to me! Foster was the best thing for her, as both a partner and a friend, and I loved their budding romance even though everyone was quite vocal to him about warning him of her. The suspense of trying to find out who’s behind the attacks on Addie had me on the edge of my seat, and while I thought it was a possibility, I was still shocked to find out who was behind it! It’s exactly that in stories that make them for me – the anticipation and potential of knowing but still being shocked when you’re right. I continue to love Emma’s books and I cannot wait for the next one in this series and her books in general!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This story begins kind of like the others with the night that cost so many their lives and changed a town forever. Foster comes from a wealthy family that has high expectations for him and has had his life mapped out for him, but he doesn’t want to follow in his father’s footsteps nor have everything handed to him anymore. The night of the bon fire changed the direction of his life making him realize what he wanted out of life and that is helping save people as much as possible. That same night of the bon fire also changed Addie’s life so much when she came home to see the evil and destruction her father caused so many years later, she is determined to prove she is the exact opposite of her father. She stayed out of people’s way, helped anyone she could, and was so sweet to everyone except Foster. These two come from total opposite sides of life one had everything the other had nothing and for years they both set out to do better than their families. Fate had it out for these two by constantly bringing them together figuratively and literally, but Addie is scared to let Foster see what lingers beneath her surface. With multiple friends in common they can not stay away from each other and while Addie is hesitant, Foster is determined to not only show her she isn’t alone but prove they belong together. Foster was a total alpha knowing exactly what he wanted, who he wanted to be with, and was not going to let Addie slip through his hands. There was some unexpected suspense throughout that kept me intrigued and can’t wait for Colt’s story because I know it will be just as epic.

After reading the prologue from Inferno by Emma Renshaw, I knew I was in for one emotional story. I was in tears and my heart absolutely broke for Adeline. Experiencing one horror at the bonfire, only go to home and experience another - nobody should have to go through that.

And Foster......that tragedy shaped his life in a completely different way. He never knew what he wanted to do with his life (besides not follow in his father's footsteps), but helping the victims at the fire gave him purpose.

Now, twelve years later, Adeline receives some unexpected news on her thirtieth birthday that completely changes her life. That same day, she ends up getting rear ended by Foster, which also changes her life. There was just something about that moment between them that sparked a curiosity for Foster, and they kept bumping into each other after that. And having mutual friends together - it was only a matter of time before the spark between them ignited.

My only issue with the story was that if Adeline and Foster had been living in the same town for this many years (even with him having gone off into the military for a short amount of time), wouldn't it be reasonable to think that they would have ran into each other at some point?

Other than that, I really enjoyed this story - and it had a few surprising moments that I was not expecting. Looking forward to the next book in the series - plus I still need to go back and see how it all started!

⭐️ 5 "Firecracker" Stars ⭐️
Inferno was another amazing read from Emma Renshaw! I absolutely adored Adeline and Foster’s story which was bursting with so much feels! The Burn Series only keeps getting better with each book!

"𝑰 𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒘 𝒖𝒑 𝒊𝒏 𝒘𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒖𝒇𝒇𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔. 𝑺𝒉𝒆 𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒘 𝒖𝒑 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒑𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒕𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒍. 𝑶𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒃𝒖𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒏."

Just from the prologue, I was teary-eyed and chocked up by emotions. Adeline lived through such a devastating night, the day of her high school graduation. That same night also shaped the man Foster is now. It helped him find his purpose as a firefighter, a profession he’s now dedicated to. That man is truly incredible. So charming, sweet, funny and caring! When Adeline is integrated in his group of friends, they steadily grow closer. Adeline is strong and a fighter, despite the hurdles she faced in her life. I enjoyed how Foster brought such sassiness from this otherwise sweet woman. He gives her confidence and they’re simply stunning as a couple. So well-matched, with spark flying in their every interaction.

"𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒎𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒐𝒖𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒂 𝒅𝒂𝒎𝒏 𝒃𝒍𝒂𝒛𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒏𝒇𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒐, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝑰'𝒎 𝒔𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒅. 𝑰'𝒎 𝒈𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒈𝒐 𝒂𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒕𝒐𝒐."

As it was the case with the previous novels in the series, Inferno also incorporated a thrilling intrigue intermingled with the romance! I cherished the fact we got to see a lot of the side characters, previously met in Ember and Ignite, making the story even more interesting. Inferno had me in awe from start to finish that’s for sure! I’m now so ready for Makenna and Colt’s story next!

***spoiler free****

One evening changes the lives of Addie and Foster forever. One suffered huge loss while the other changed the trajectory of their life going forward. This book is one that will have you crying and laughing at the same time. Addie is so strong but needs someone to believe in her and Foster is willing to step up into that roll. Foster knew the life he was leading wasn’t what he wanted but it takes this one evening to put everything into focus.
How do you survive such a huge loss without loosing a part of yourself? How could you have lived without really living? How can you love when everything you love has already been taken from you?
These are all things Addie and Foster think. They don’t really know each other but know of each other. It isn’t until an accident that they are thrown into each other’s circles. From that moment on things change and with a slow sweet burn their love grows. This doesn’t mean it’s all roses and butterflies. Someone is breaking into homes and businesses. There this huge amount on money from somewhere that brings everything in history into question.
This book has a HEA and the way it’s written will have you relating to the characters. It’s an easy ready but will have you on the edge of each page eagerly trying to get to the next page.

A heartfelt page-turner...

Another fantastic read from a talented author. Emma Renshaw never fails to deliver a steamy story with lots of heart that really resonates with the reader. Add to that a healthy dose of suspense and it's a real page-turner.

The night of the fire ten years ago changed the survivors' lives forever, especially for both Adeline and Foster. While that night inspired Foster to become a firefighter and go against the wishes of his parents, Adeline's whole world fell apart that night and she believed she'd never recover. Although the two went to the same high school, they'd never really conversed except for briefly the night of the fire. Now years later they keep running into one another all over town and there's an undeniable spark brewing in the air. But while Foster is game to explore it, Adeline is harder to convince to let down her carefully built walls. But once she does their spark bursts into an inferno. But don't just take my word for it. You'll just have to find out in this steamy story from such an incredible author.

I practically devoured this latest installment of Emma Renshaw's Burn series in one sitting. I just had to know what happened next. I can't wait to see what this author produces next and what the residents of Hawk Valley get up to.
