I've been a fan of the Wird (Weird) sisters from the very action packed, romance filled, swoon worthy, heart pounding beginning. There really is nothing else quite like this series.

It takes my breath away and I look forward to each new installment with excitement and anticipation but I can say without a shadow of a doubt, I was even more excited than normal when I learned that finally, finally! the next installment would be all about Bren and Emme.

I've loved smart mouthed, sassy, mysteriously brooding Bren from the very beginning and couldn't wait to learn more about this broken wolf in all his shapes and forms. And Emme? What's not to love about this loving soft spoken favorite Wird sister?

And while this didn't quite go in the direction I was truly hoping it would, I have no doubts that Cecy will do these two justice in the end and I can't wait to read more to get there!

This series continues to be so much fun, so dynamic, and so very addicting and I can't wait to see Bren and Emme grow with each new page. chapter, and story.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.I have been looking forward to Emme and Bren’s story after obvious sexual tension between them in Flame and Fury. Having experienced the impressive writing of Cecy Robson on several occasions, I went into Touch of Evil with high expectations and she did not disappoint.

Emme has always been the shy and quiet one among her sisters. Her compassionate nature complemented her gift of healing. However, she struggled with low self-esteem, which intensified as she watched her sisters find their mates and she remained single. She would do anything to have someone to call her own, but with her poor dating record, that may prove difficult.

Touch of Evil revealed a side of Emme I never expected, bold, mighty and fierce. It goes to show one should never underestimate the quiet ones.

I enjoyed reading Brenn’s POV. The statements spewing from his lips had me laughing for most of the story. I also had fun with the interactions between him and Emme. I thought they complemented each other. Despite seeing this funny side to him, there was a lot I still did not know about him. Mysterious and hot, that is Brenn for you. I can’t wait to unravel that mystery.

Earlier, I mentioned the sexual tension between the main characters highlighted in Flame and Fury, well the reason for it came to light in this story.
I had a wonderful time with this book. The action, mystery and suspense had me flipping the pages. My only complaint, I needed more of this couple.

Conclusion/Recommendation
In Touch of Evil, Robson delivered a story which mixed action with humour, mystery and romance culminating into an addictive read. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading

I have been dying to dig into Emme’s story for a while now. Especially when something shifted between her and Bren. Ms. Robson has a way of weaving her storylines that is unrivaled. Her worlds are intricate and her character development is fantastic. She doesn’t hold back when it comes to what she’s willing to let her characters go through for us to have a great experience.

I love seeing this side of Emme. She has been a seemingly passive participant in the rest of the series but begins to stand out for her contributions. Bren is a huge mystery that we’ve yet to unravel but this book is just right to whet our appetite. Cannot wait for the next book.

When the Weird Girls popped up on the scene a few years back. I was hooked! Ms. Robson had created this wonderful family of sisters with unusual gifts that turned the paranormal world upside down with their abilities and sassy attitudes.

Touch of Evil is told in Emme and Bren’s POV’s. I thought we might be starting off where we left off at the end of Of Flame and Fury, but we go back in time to the events between Of Flame and Light and Of Flame and Fate. I will say this threw me at first, but I soon got back into the story.

The Wird sisters are a passionate bunch with bold personalities and a “tell it like it is” attitude that makes them pretty badass. The exception to this rule is Emme the youngest Wird sister. She’s shy, innocent, kind, compassionate and has a gift for healing. She’s all about making love, not war.

We finally get to see Emme prove to everyone that she maybe the quiet one, but she’s mighty and fierce. She’s been battling self-esteem issues her whole life and now she feels more like an outsider looking in with her crazy chaotic family. All of them have found their fated mates and are starting families and happily ever afters.

What we get to see is Emme come out of her shell and fighting something that wants to hurt her and her family. We get to see what caused the tension between Emme and Bren that we saw in Of Flame and Fury. I had a blast seeing Emme grow. As for Bren I want to know why? I’d tell you what went on, but then you'll miss out on an exciting adventure. I can’t wait to see where things go with these two.

She is young, she is shy, she is sweet, and she is the heart of the Weird Girls, but Emme is also ready to prove herself as a powerful member of the team and a woman ready to find her special someone. He's never been someone's hero and his past tells him that he has no business noticing Emme's all grown up, but if she goes into danger then he'll be right by her side.

Touch of Evil is the first of the Touch sub series and tenth of the Weird Girls. It should be read in order after Celia and Taran's books.

Touch of Evil opens with Emme having a gab-worthy bad date, but the night is still young so she goes to Bren's bar for some company. If only she can get Bren to notice that she's all grown up and interested in more than friendship, but that sexy wolf shifter fights shy of her these days. When a were is reported murdered and the other leaders are busy on other assignments, Bren gets tasked to lead the investigation and Emme is right at his side. Things get bizarre after that and they find themselves up against a Touch of Evil.

Though this book is part of the broader Weird Girls' universe, it is the first book with Emme as the focus. It had the feel of both first in series- rough in spots and waiting to hit its stride- and the familiarity of a long-standing well loved series with great characters, action, twists, humor, sexy romance, and world building.

Emme's love interest should come as no surprise for series readers and Bren splits the narration with her. All four Wird sisters have very different personalities and magical powers. Like when Taran took over the narration from Celia, Emme's book reflects who and what she is so well. I loved the vulnerability and yearning that are brought out in this youngest sister, but also her sweetness and quiet strength. She wants desperately to not be the weakest link or to spend her life envying her sisters for their loving relationships with mates. This is all portrayed in a low angst way because Emme isn't a volatile person. Most of the time she is busy taking care of those around her including those who don't deserve it.

And, splitting the limelight with her is Bren. Bren has been a side character since the first book. He was a lone werewolf and like a brother to the sisters. However, during Taran's part of the story, a new vibe starts to form between Bren and Emme. The mutual attraction was crackling between them even as Bren kept pulling away and avoiding her. I was ready to see what was up with him and why he was acting that way. For the first time, there are more than hints about why Bren stayed outside the packs and kept to himself all this time and it is what makes him struggle to keep that mutual attraction in check. I look forward to seeing how Emme finds a way past his guard.

This series has some serious humor along with the spicy romance and action. Taran was usually the source, but I was tickled to catch some of Emme's moments and a whole lot of Bren. He's a rough and mouthy type who had me cracking up. Even when one is just in his head getting his point of view, he's a hoot.

Touch of Evil didn't stint on the intense action moments. Talk about a walk on the weird side and I'm not referencing the sisters. There was some twisted stuff going on and the big scene at the end was pay dirt. Bren and Emme were fighting for their lives and the villain was pretty creepy. The overall war with those looking to break the prophecy about Celia and Aric's unborn child is ongoing and I like Emme's determination to help protect her sister and the baby.

All in all, this was a good start to a new segment of the series. It set things in motion and I look forward to seeing where it goes for Emme and Bren and the rest of the gang. Those who enjoy plenty of action-packed, emotion-producing, spicy romancing, and humor in their urban fantasy should take the plunge on the series.

I rec'd a copy of this book from Caffeinated PR to read in exchange for an honest review.

When not fighting evils, will they battle their reciprocated feelings ...

When I saw it was first in a series, I decided why not. And while it is true is the first book about Emme’s story, it is in fact I think the third series turning around the Wird siblings. Two of her sisters already got their, now it is Emme and there is one left.
All the main characters were introduced in previous books, and while I lacked some background informations, it didn’t impede my reading.
The author delivers a fun read, full of actions with a very unique world. She gives her paranormal beings an uniqueness I do not often see.
Emme is the quiet, shy sister, so much she is viewed a meek and weak. She has none of her sisters “badassness” but when rightly motivated or angered, she can hold her head high and gives as much as she receives.
Bren, he has a dedicated novella as I searched a bit, he is lone wolf but made friend with the siblings. And until recently, Emme was the little girl to protect. Something clicked and changed, he does not see her any more as a kid, and the games he wants to play with her as not set child’s eyes.

This book is the first in Emme and Bren’s story, the pawns are now set on the board, up to them to move the pieces rightly.
And while it ends without a HEA, there is hope for the next book.

*Thoughts*

Touch of Evil, by author Cecy Robson, starts a new chapter in the Weird Sister series. (Amazon is calling this Weird Girls Touch). Touch of Evil begins Emme Wird's thread, but it also includes Bren Cooper who has spent most of his life being a rogue and friends with all four Wird sisters. According to my research, the timeline for this book takes place between Of Flame and Light and Of Flame and Fate. Emme as the youngest Wird sister is the compassionate one. She's a nurse, she's got powerful telepathic abilities, but unlike her sisters, she hasn't found her life mate yet.

I absolutely love the Weird Girls! And Touch of Evil was no exception. The story is told in Emme and Bren’s (hilarious) perspectives. It’s full of danger, magic, laughs, and romance (finally). It’s a quick read - novella length - that will keep you glued to the pages.

This series is highly addicting...you have been warned. I have re-read all of the other books before this one to anxiously wait for its release date and they are even better the second time around. Ellie's story was just as intriguing as all of the other sisters. The action still makes me wonder about the world the author lives in and just what kind of dreams and/or daydreams she has....hubby and friends have to have input (I think) to avoid giving her really strange looks.

The story line is solid, the timing appropriate and the editing is great. There was little jumping around and I understand that some is unavoidable. I love the way Cecy Robson draws you into the story and makes you care about the trials of the characters and their challenges. All of her skills were evident in this book and they had to go up against the baddest witch ever....EVER. Great read.

I have not read any other books from this series. The author did a pretty good job of trying to get the reader up to where we are now. Emme is shy and quiet but the book was not bad and I enjoyed the story. I may goo back and start from the beginning and read these in order. I, personally, just don't like to start a series in the middle every often. The characters made me giggle sometimes and laugh out load others. I think the author writes very well. *This book was given to me for free at my request from NetGalley and I provided this voluntary review.*

Touch of Evil is my second book by Cecy Robson, and my first book reading about the Wird sisters, and I enjoyed it immensely!
Coming into an existing series at book 10 is cray-cray but it wasn't so bad in this particular case... Touch of Evil is book one in Emme's series which just so happens to be part of the larger series so don't be put off! Everything you need to know about the world to understand the world, and characters, and what's going on is in this book. The only thing is you inevitably get spoilers for the earlier books in the Weird Girls series from reading this one... This doesn't bother me personally but I know it will others.

I found Emme to be likeable and a bit of a contradiction. She comes across as so quiet and sweet, like someone in need of protecting, but she's really quite formidable and fierce. I adored her relationship with Bren and found myself wanting to know much more about him - he's funny - as well as her relationship with her sisters. I enjoyed hearing about Emme's sisters and their mates but I'm guessing that I'll need to read the earlier books in the overarching series to get a lot of the info I want when it comes to them all... It's a minor niggle though. I knew what I was getting into when picking the book up.

Touch of Evil is easy to devour in one sitting. The story flows smoothly, has a nice mystery to solve, some action, some romance and some laughs but it very much felt like an introduction to something bigger. It was a book that was setting the scene for the next big battle in the world of the Wird sisters as well as paving the way for Emme and Bren to have a happy ever after.

With its mix of paranormal romance and urban fantasy, Touch of Evil was a hit for me and I'm excited to see what happens next!

I received this book from NetGalley but this review is my own honest one!

I haven't read all of the Weird Girls series, so was a little hesitant about reading this one in case I had missed too much from the previous books, but there was enough background information to reveal enough of what I needed to know without bogging the story down too much.

Emme is the youngest of the four sisters and a powerful telekinetic, but being small and young looking for her age, she finds people often underestimate her, which definitely worked to her advantage in this book. She's gentle, kind and sweet, but when she needs to be she can play the hard ass almost as well as her sisters!

On a date night, the werewolf she's out with tries to dominate her and she reacts back by throwing him out of the window! He definitely underestimated her! Later on that same night, the werewolf's body is found and Bren, acting as the werewolf pack alpha, whilst the alpha, Emme's brother-in-law is on vacation, takes Emme from his bar where she had popped in, to find out what is going on. What they discover is a heap of creepiness and together they have to fight the "Touch of Evil" and survive the night. I really loved how they worked together to battle this big bad, both trying to protect each other. This big bad was another who underestimated what Emme was really capable of - I loved the way she fought back against it!

The big bad idea was brilliant, yet disturbing at the same time and I loved the way the "creatures" were described.

The romance side of this book was just sweet, loving and really felt like first love, which I guess it was for both of them. I hope the ending is really not the ending for them both though as it broke my heart just a little to read it! I can't wait to read the next book in this series and see where Emme and Bren go next!

I have been waiting for this book FOREVER!! Out of the Wird sisters Emme is my second favorite after Celia, and Bren is my second favorite wolf after Aric so I’m quite excited that they will finally (hopefully!) end up as mates! At first glance they are quite the opposites-Emme is shy, kind and loving while Bren is bold, cheeky but devoted to those who he considers his pack including the sisters and his best friend Danny. As we all know, the road to true love is never smooth and Emme has had quite a few bumps and potholes along the way. The loss of her former boyfriend-but-not-mate Liam and watching her sisters find their happiness has left her adrift and wanting to find her true love. Is Bren really the One?? You'll find out!

The newest romp in the Weird Girls universe is a fast-paced adventure that takes the readers back to the supernatural Tahoe that we have grown to love over the years. The best part of Cecy’s books is that she always imbues them with plenty of action and heart, with a huge helping of humor to balance it out. While Bren adds his usual mix of sarcasm and wit, I must say that some of my favorite parts occur ‘off-camera’ from Shayna. (Personally I’m never looking at a container of Quaker Oats in quite the same way again!) As I’ve mentioned previously these are books that should really be read in order to get the full experience of the universe Cecy has created, and trust me you won’t regret the time!

Thank you to Cecy and Netgalley for the chance to read this early, though all opinions are my own! (Full review available on the I Need to Read That blog!)

Touch of Evil is a short(ish) story about the youngest Wird sister, Emme.  She's always been the quiet & shy one, who feels like she's an outsider because her other sisters have met their fated mates, and she wonders if she will ever find hers.  Emme is on a very bad date which gets even worse when all's said & done so off she goes to solve the mystery of why her date ended up murdered. The thing I really loved about Emme is she may be quiet but you know what they say...gotta watch out for those quiet ones, and Emme had no problem showing she's powerful & mighty in her own right.  Bren (who was hilarious) is a werewolf & Emme's friend who helps her figure out what happened to that bad date, and along the way, maybe just maybe there's some sparks heating up?! One thing I can tell you, I CANNOT WAIT for more of these two so I'll just end with HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDING TO ALL!

Love Emme and Bren! This is what I’ve been needing!

10/13/2020 update!

I don’t even know how I want to start this other than saying I LOVED it. I do wish it was longer, a teensy bit short, but otherwise it’s gold.

I have followed this series since book one and have eagerly awaited each and every book after and this one just did it for me. I always liked Emme. She was sweet and quiet but I love this side to her. The vulnerable and confident side to her.

Her sisters are usually the ones who get into a lot of trouble but this time around something wants Emme. She can’t understand why anyone would want her for any reason, she’s just there in the background but you take out the healing factor, you get access to Celia.

It seems that all the stories after Celia’s are still about Celia. While that is true, this one is totally focused on Emme... and Bren. She knows what she wants and if you think about it, she has always gone after it. Bren is no different and she is 100% willing to break down his walls.

When Emme goes on a date and it goes wrong, she finds herself in even bigger trouble that she realizes and Bren isn’t having any of that. He has always seen her as a “kid” and now his eyes are wide open. He just doesn’t want to admit it.

Emme is just so sweet and she is the PERFECT match for Bren! When she was with Liam she never questioned herself and I love that she is the same way with Bren. She may be shy but she’s super confident all the same! She knows who she is and what she wants and she’ll do anything to protect those she loves. Signature Wird girl move.

This is definitely a great side to her and I’m glad she’s getting her time to shine! Can’t wait for more!!

The Wird aka Weird sisters have turned the paranormal world upside down with their unique abilities and sassy attitudes. The series has gained quite the fandom and the Weird sisters have carved a special place on my bookshelf.

The Wird sisters are intense with bold personalities and a “tell it like it is” attitude that makes them pretty badass. The exception to this rule is Emme- youngest Wird sister, innocent, kind, compassionate with her background in healing. Emme is all about making love and not war and after the most disastrous date of the century with a pretty bad dating record she just wants to find her “mate”, someone to call her own.

Emme was a really complex character which I appreciated. Being from a large family, especially of sisters, there's always the tendency for jealousy and fighting. Emme has been battling self-esteem issues for her entire life feeling like an outsider looking into her crazy chaotic family. This coupled with her “pushover” attitude makes her feel like she has no voice.

Touch of evil gave Emme that opportunity to prove to everyone that she may be tiny but she is mighty. It also gave us a sweet introduction into a possible “ship” with Bren who has enough issues in his past to write a novel.

Touch of Evil was a delightfully funny yet at times serious murder mystery novella that was the perfect introduction to Emme and Bren.

Thank you to Cecy Robinson and NetGalley for providing me with an arc!

Emme is the younger sister in her family. Her magic as a healer and telekinetic is less flashy than her sister’s gifts. She is the quiet and gentle sister. Her feelings for Bren are brought forth when they fight an enemy together. He fights the attraction because of her youth and his fear of disturbing his friendship with the family. I have not read other books in this series and plan to rectify this error soon! I always enjoy reading strong female characters that are self reliant. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I was completely mesmerized by the imagery Cecy Robson gave in Touch of Evil. From the first word to it’s last. I have been waiting for Emme’s story forever, and this book has outdone my expectations. Emme and Bren’s story has only begun its tale. She finds herself in a situation after her date turned up not only dead but dismembered. It’s up to them to solve the murder. Full of laughter, action and adventure, this Weird Sister is a kick butt and take names Heroine. Who definitely is just as powerful as her sisters. I can not wait to see what happens next with Emme , Bren and the whole family.

Well damn, this was absolutely exciting, a little bit sexy and whole lot of amazing pages. Of course I wish this could have been a few hundred more pages. Then to leave me off like that, I can’t say exactly that it’s cliffhanger, but there is definitely some dangling.

I stumbled upon this series last year and simple fell in love and can’t get enough. It has all of things I love in a book series a little bit of love, lots of action, and plenty of humor. This new book on Emme didn’t disappoint my only complaint is that it ended to soon making me wishing for more (which makes it a great book). This series is a must read!!! Can’t wait to read more about Emme and Bren and can’t wait to read about Misha when he gets his own story also!!

I received this ARC from Caffienated PR to participate in the blog tour with an honest and voluntary review. I was in no way compensated for this review.

At long last, Cecy Robson gives the youngest Wird sister, Emme, a turn at the wheel! Touch of Evil is Emme’s solo debut and it was everything I was hoping for from her! Though, I do want to say, because it took me a little too long to fully and 100% realize (besides speculating) it, this book takes place before the end of Taran’s series. I can’t place it exactly in the Weird Girls timeline as it’s been too long since I read Celia’s books, though I’m thinking it was somewhere in the midst of Taran’s stories, definitely before the last two books.

Emme was having a pretty terrible night when her shifter date decided sex was the only way to save their night, after he admitted that she’d do since Taran was taken. But let it be said that Emme is not all sweetness and sugar when it comes to jerks and she shows him that beautifully. She ends up spending the rest of the evening with Bren at his bar when they suddenly get a call that a shifter’s body was found in multiple pieces. And as you’ve probably guessed, it was Emme’s date.

Now she and Bren are trying to figure out who or what could have possibly killed a shifter in such a brutal manner and it takes them far beyond the realm of normal. Emme uncovers a plot to kill her sister Celia, and there’s one thing to know about Emme, the sweet little healer; never mess with her family. Emme may be the sister that gets overlooked because she’s the youngest, the smallest, the less fierce, but she is absolutely a force not to be reckoned with. No pun intended since her power is referred as force. Lol.

What made this book extra special and that I positively LOVED even more, was that it’s told from both Emme and Bren’s point of views! Holy cow I was not expecting that! And I was totally blown away with the thoughts Bren had. It’s been so many years since I started this world series that I couldn’t remember everything we knew about Bren and his past, I just knew that he was always there for the Wird sisters and they’re his family since his was gone. Seeing him start to see Emme in a new light was unbelievably sweet, and at times funny as he tried to talk himself out of it because he knew the ass kicking he’d receive from her sisters should something happen to Emme’s heart.

And since this is a prequel of sorts to what will be Emme’s series I am now driving myself crazy with want for more! Ever since it was revealed that Bren and Emme are mates in Taran’s series I’ve been dying for a glimpse of more between them, and now things are totally insane since Bren apparently knew all this long before Taran made the revelation! My mind is blown you guys!

Emme and Bren were able to take care of things supernatural wise in this one, not that that is any surprise as this is a sort of “past moment” novel. We all know everything is going to be okay by the end of this one. Although, this book does include the “event” Emme mentions briefly to Taran in her last book. When I read it then, my brain was whirling with what this moment was and this, you guys, is heavy stuff!

I am now basically dying to read the next book and I don’t even know when that will be! Being a younger sister myself, I always had a soft spot for Emme in the Weird Girls series to date. She’s been through a lot, like seriously a lot if you recall everything from the Celia story days and I want to see this girl get her happy ending! I mean when all your sisters already have their mates and are living in bliss, you can’t help but feel like an outsider. And I totally relate with Emme on that front too. I’m rooting for this girl to the very end and I cannot wait to see what’s next for her in her series to come!

If you’re looking for action packed mystery with a twist on love, then you’re going to enjoy Touch of Evil to the fullest just like I did! The Weird Girls series has been one my favorites since its debut and I love that Cecy has extended the series as much as she has! I cannot wait for the next adventure!

I’ve been dying for a story between Emme and Bren for forever. I placed them together, in my mind, back in the first Wird sisters’ book. Sounds weird but I had a feeling about them. And my patience paid off.

I wish though that Bren didn’t act like the typical alpha hole who doesn’t “do relationships”. But then we wouldn’t get a story.

Emme’s book is well worth the wait. I love that she comes to her own in this book and that she is a force to be reckon with. Future books will prove to be interesting as her powers probably grow and her family learns the nature of the two’s relationship.

This book is exactly why I love blogging about books and participating in book tours. I get to learn about amazing new (to me authors) that I would never have come across otherwise.

Cecy Robson is a genius. This is my first time reading one of her books – and I am now so keen to get my hands on the other books in this series.

Emme is the most adorably bad ass characters I have ever read. She is this tiny little mouse that is constantly underestimated by her enemies, family and friends. Terminally in love with long time family friend Bren she is never quite sure what to do around or with him.

Their fledgling relationship is so cute and fun to read. Bren’s POV is snarky, a little sarcastic and has such a fun and dry sense of humor. His asides are unique and nothing like I have read before.

The story line is incredibly interesting, intriguing and really hard to put down. This is a page turner for sure.

Touch of Evil takes place right after Of Flame and Light Book 1 of Weird Girls Flame, Book 6 of Weird Girls series.
I have been waiting for Emme's book for what feels like years. It was worth the wait, in all honesty, there were moments of awkwardness, and bumpy writing. But there were not many of those incidences, and to be honest they made the interaction feel more authentic. Especially when we get into the weird. With the weird, we get a fast-paced adventure, with humor and a little bit of romance.
Emme is the youngest of the sisters, seen as the meekest and weakest, and the only one without a mate. What she is the gentle, heart of the family who is just as fierce and strong-willed as the other three sisters and is not blind to how others see her.
Bren is a lone wolf who has found his way into a pack. He is funny and protective. Surprised at his leadership role in the pack. He has a powerful protective instinct when it comes to Emme and realizing she is his mate is a huge surprise. We get more of his back story, but I can’t wait to get more.
