Grant Phillips has always been a team player. He lives his life for the Force and worked hard to land a coveted spot with Team Bravo. He follows the rules, keeps his head down, and never causes trouble. Grant does everything for everyone else and wants for very little. The mission always comes first, until she waltzes into his life.
Taylor Maxwell is a wild card. A thrill seeker. A rogue wolf. She lives her life only looking out for number one, there’s little she won’t do for the next paycheck. When she gets contracted to steal a priceless heirloom from the vault of a well-known drug lord, she readily accepts. This time it’s personal as she knows the prize contains ancient knowledge of shifters, and its current owner is about to exploit it.
Taylor has spent months cultivating the perfect cover for the assignment and embedding herself as close as possible. But the sudden appearance of Westin Force, a well-known shifter paramilitary group, could destroy all she’s worked for.
She has two options: work with them, or against them. Joining forces sounds easy, but there is nothing easy about the strong, silent wolf shifter with the smoldering gray eyes who’s overbearing presence throws her off her game.
Grant’s focus has always been on the team, but not this time. For him the mission has changed, and his eyes are firmly focused on the one thing he never thought he wanted—his true mate.

This book needs to be on your to read list! I am absolutely blown away by this book. I love that we get to see the inner workings of Westin force And bravo team. This whole story got me from the get-go Taylor is a spy and doesn’t want a mate or need one so she thinks. Grant has watched many people in the town of Westin meet their mate and fall in love but also doesn’t think he needs or wants a mate till he meets Taylor and she changes everything.
I was actually expecting more of shifter book. The mmc was in Wolfe form more than fmc but it was more about the mating aspect and fmc running away because she’s used to being on her own.
Story was ok Smut level wasn’t as much as I was expecting 3 star listen
Holy hot tamale! What a fantastic, action-packed, shifter must read that turns up the romantic heat ;) ... “Fierce Impact” is the 1st page-turner in a new spinoff from some of Ms. Trettel’s previous shifter series, but definitely stands alone, tho I LOVED every one of those must-reads from before, too :D ... This first amazing story in the new ‘Westin Force’ series, has relatable characters, both new and some old friends visiting, with the always present witty dialogue, that brings this story to life! ... The H/h- Grant & Taylor’s chemistry is off the charts with their push/pull developing relationship! ... Taylor is a rogue wolf, and a professional soldier of fortune, but she’s confused about these new feelings, and keeps pulling away from Grant. But he’s determined & won’t give up. So can she resist her one true mate and survive as a loan wolf, or not? ... I highly recommend this to (adults 18+) fans of fiction & all of this author’s shifter books from before! ... Even tho I volunteered to read this, it was without any outside influences, and these are my own feelings! Plus, I’ve preordered this kindle books as I have done in the past whenever I was able to. Now I can't wait for more, but I definitely will!
I loved this book! I mean I love all the other series attached to this book but I think this one might be better than the rest! Love how a loner wolf can not only find a pack but a family as well. It is so refreshing to see how a strong male and a strong female can compliment each other so well. These two are by far the truest form of one true mate! Can't wait to see what happens next in this world! Loving every minute of it!
DNF - Quit at 8% I really had a hard time getting into this. There's a lot of internal dialogue in the first 8%, with no real interactions to hook me as a reader to want to see where this is going. Internal dialogue is definitely not the way to get my interest cause then it just feels like I'm being told the story by the main character, not an actual story to follow by reading & seeing the interactions between the characters. I realize there needs to be an internal dialogue at times to explain what's going on in a character's head, but to start off with so much to give the world building, it hurts the story, not helps it. I also really had a hard time with the FMC, something about the character rubbed me the wrong way in the first 5%.
At my age (approaching 60), life is way to short & my time is to important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.
Love seeing how Westing force began and how it runs. Bravo team is the main of this series. Taylor and grant are our MC’s and they are strong and stubborn. We wouldn’t have it any other way though. Both on missions to capture the same object, both don’t feel they need or want a mate. Fate has other plans though. Great story, can’t wait to read more about Westin force.
DNF 18% I just couldn’t get into this book. Right off the bat this full grown male “elite” man giggles. Yep he says wants to giggle at this drug lords henchmen are pissed. That honestly just set the tone of the book for me. The writing felt immature.
Oh, are you in for a treat! I have waited for the Westin Force since Julie said that she was going to write about them! This is everything we always get and a little bit more! Julie knows what to do to make us love the book. Remember this book is part of a world, so if you haven’t read any of the Westin/Collier/Arc books I recommend you to read them first, because you may get spoilers.
As always we get a little bit spicy and a little bit of the history of both characters. We get to know them and love them. We get to see old characters from other books. That’s why I recommend for you to read the first ones because I mean the world is the wonderful, the world of Julie’s books Westin/Collier/Arc books. So even if this is the first book for this new line in the world, you need to know about the others.
We get our supernatural stuff with the shifters, in general, we get a little information about what's going on, but this time because it is Westin Force we get a little bit of CIA/secret police/military. I have waited, what seems like a long time to be able to read this one, and Oh boy!! It didn’t disappoint. This book shows us that girls can do the same things boys do and even do it better.
The only sad part is that you get to the last page and that's the end and you have to wait until the second book to come out and you are sad that it's just finished and it was so good. I would love to read them all. Each book is a process, a creation, it takes work and I understand so we would have to wait until October for the second.
I stumbled upon Fierce Impact in that I didn't realize it was a Westin pack "spin off." I started reading and characters and their story came back to me. So that was a happy accident. I must admit I never completed the Collier pack. I can't remember why. I'm assuming I got distracted with other stories and lost this storyline in my memory. I liked Grant and Taylor together and I really enjoyed their story. I loved their true mate meeting on assignment and Grants wolfy reaction. I didn't like that Taylor runs without explanation and does this severe girl drama routine when for most of the story she's level headed. They made sense as a couple. I don't particularly care for the girl pase. They get all up in everyone else's privates and hang out their laundry. Very tactless especially considering they are mated to each others brothers and sisters. Also, I had to smack my head once Lily and Thomas showed up. Lily is annoying and Thomas is still a dud. I didn't miss those two from the original Westin storyline.
You’ve seen how Westin Force started, you’ve seen how they operate, but you’ve never seen them like this before. We get a firsthand experience through the eyes of Grant in what is just the beginning of our adventure with the Bravo team. We start off with a new character, Taylor, while on a mission that will lead her right to where she needs to be in the most hilarious way possible. The overall plot I was a whole new view for the reader on the Verndari and Raglan issues that have plagued the series since the beginning. Overall, through a series of...coincidences?...fate?...destiny?...another heartfelt rollercoaster was born with plenty of hilarious situations and light hearted moments to add lighter element to balance out the darker portions. The Westin Pack magic still as dazzling as it was from the first book in Fierce Impact and I can’t wait for more!
While the plot ideas could have been interesting, the writing and story and character development all fell very flat for me. The writing was a lot of telling and not a lot of showing (I.e. “she was sad” or “it was hot outside” instead of the actual description of the feelings and experience). The main conflict of the book was so obnoxious, unrealistic, and annoying. There’s the smallest of misunderstandings that would have been fixed in an instant with some adult communication, but the FMC throws a tantrum and runs off like a petulant child before even considering a conversation. Then the conflicts that should have seemed more significant were basically dismissed altogether (both MCs never wanted a mate, then met their mate, then almost immediately all hesitations or concerns were forgotten and never properly addressed).
I liked the story a lot, it was of the better shifter stories I’ve heard. I don’t like how some shifter books have the couple so stuck in their own way that they have very little growth and neither of them have the chance to shine. Julie did not box her characters in like that. Grant and Taylor both had problems and issues they need to work through and overcome before they could actually bond, but I like how they didn’t push each others buttons. They both respected and listened to each other and grew together because of it. Taylor is strong, smart and knows her own mind. I loved getting to see her work and set boundaries.
I will definitely check out the rest of the series and Hope to see more Taylor and Grant.
This is my first book from this author and I am hooked. This was a great book and I can’t wait to read the other books I’m the series. Taylor is such a badass. She’s a very capable spy and is strong & independent yet has a softness to her. Grant is very sweet and her greatest supporter. The action was very interesting and exciting without any angst. I can see me reading this again and recommend this book.
It seems there are a couple of series portraying the other characters in this book. I had no issues reading this prior to the other series as it works well as a standalone. I intend to read the previous series though, since I already liked the other characters, especially Lily and want to read about how they found their mates.
Grant is a wolf shifter on a mission when he discovers his mate. Taylor is a wolf shifter but she left her pack years ago to protect herself from her uncle and her mothers mate. Taylor is a master of disguise and looks like a man when Grant realizes she is his mate. He doesn't care, he picks her up and runs with her to protect and keep her safe. Both are on a mission but with the strong attraction between them neither completes their mission. Will Taylor give Grant a chance to prove he is a good man and will allow her to make her own decisions? There is a lot going on behind the scenes that has brought Grant and Taylor to this point. The story is original and the characters are amazing. This is a must read.
In the decade since escaping her suffocating pack, thrill seeking rogue Taylor Maxwell’s become a master international thief. On a job, Tay overhears a target discuss an artifact depicting shifter secrets and making the job personal. Coincidentally, Westin Force after the same piece and Grant Phillips scents something so tantalizing it can only be his mate.
Tay gets the artifact but Grant gets Tay on her way out of the building. The each give token resistance to the mating bond as Tay finds herself ready to settle down but isn’t too happy to know she has family ties in town. But trying out for the team, Tay has great and needed skills along with a bonus that gets the team one step closer to dismantling an enemy. Rating: 4stars
Okay read - just boring and very “youth book writing comp winner” vibes
This was sweet - more of a young adult book - very PG, really young dialogue- the way they communicated and they way the chapters where written just felt like the winner of a high school book writing competition - the characters speak as though they are in their late teens, but they are a decade older than what they seem?
There wasn’t anything wrong with this book, but there wasn’t really anything that MADE this book - it was a nothing read - didn’t really feel any connection to any characters - very 2 dimensional
Basic outline then: Steam 1/5 Character development 3/5 Plot/story line 2/5 Romance 3/5 Engagement 2/5 Comedy 0/5 Thriller 0/5 Action 1/5
I'm a big fan of Julie Trettel's books, and normally devour every one of them in one days time. This book was no exception, this story follows the perspective of Taylor a girl who is a professional at disguising herself. On a mission that she was hired for, she stumbles across Grant her one true mate. This story was great, but the one thing that I was a little disappointed about was the fact that I was thinking this would be a boyxboy story in the beginning only for Taylor to end up being female. I really hope there will be at least one LGBTQ+ couple in Julie's future books. Final Rating: 3.75/5 Stars

I'm really happy that the Westin Force finally got their own stories, and I can't wait to read them all. I would highly recommend that you read Westin Pack, Collier Pack, and the ARC Shifters series' prior to beginning this one. It's not necessary, but you will have a better understanding of the characters, the different packs, connections, and the dynamics between them. They're all absolutely fantastic stories, and you're going to love them. I'm looking forward to reading this series, and hope that there will be many more coming. I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
XXX! Adult content, reader discretion advised. Grant is fine with with his team and his pack. He doesn’t want more. He has no plans for a OTM. Taylor is a lone wolf who escaped the abuse and degradation of the Irish pack. She is a for hire spy/thief. She has carved out a profitable life for herself and avoided anything that could lead to a mate her entire life. After watching her mother die at the hands of a forced mate she is a bit jaded with mating. Then one job forces the two together and both lose their minds.
I really don't know how Julie does it but these series are amazing! I've been waiting for this book to be released and now Im sad I have to wait again for the next one! I have really enjoyed the amazing world building going on that covers so many different places but it's still centered around the various members of the Westin or Collier Packs. I can't wait to see what happens next and Im personally rooting for Silas to have a mate at some point!
I really enjoy Julie Trettels shifter series. This was a lovely start to a new spin off. It was great to meet Grant and Taylor and learn more about Westin Force! I also loved the cameos from characters from previous books! Would definitely recommend! You could probably read it without reading previous books as it explains the background, but I'd definitely recommend reading the previous series first!
Taylor, as a Lone wolf and retrieval specialist is smart and strong and determined. Grant, as a team member working to save shifters, is protective and kind and caring. When they meet with a bang, they start to form a team of their own to rival the whole of the Westin Force that Grant is a part of. I love the world building and the action and the team dynamics. This fun story is an easy and interesting read. I am ready for more.
I’ve actually read at least 3 of the Westin Pack books but it’s been awhile and didn’t realize the connection at first. Looks like this leg of the journey will do justice to the Westin Pack. Nice to see Patrick getting a link to family. Grant being open to working with Taylor was fantastic because while series’ definitely have some empowerment, the girls are usually fairly sheltered
I've loved this series from the start and was hooked and was very happy to see the author follow up with the secondary characters. I love seeing more of the westin pack and Lily from collier . This couple's story was different and good I loved how confident and tough the heroine was.
This book basically had everything I love in a book lol. Shifters, spies, military, hot bunches and kickass heroine. These characters are not perfect, you can see it clearly. I do love how good they are at their specialty, even tho sometimes it just felt all over the top how their sides or life didn’t balance at all.
Grant and T story was freaking amazing. I have been looking forward to read about Westin Force from the day it was formed. Thank you for keeping us updated on Kyle, Kelsey, Lily, Thomas and the rest of the crew. I can't wait to read the next book.
I love that the Westin saga continues in the first of a new spin off called Westin Force. Taylor and Grant have amazing chemistry together, very sexy and sweet. The banter between the Bravo force team is hilarious!
All I can think to say is ... WOW! Thi book is absolutely phenomenal it has intrigue, plenty of action and danger, along with outstanding and charismatic characters. This is definitely the way to start a new series!
