Old ships that should be headed for the boneyard. A Flag Captain who considers her useless. Can she really do this?Rita was created a clone - with the memories and feelings of two people inside her. The Nidarians lent her a fleet to go defend humanity. Nobody thinks she can do it.Except maybe Rita.
From Huddleston’s previous series Birth of the Rim – "Outstanding. All the books in this series were excellent reading! The multiple storylines flowed easily together as I progressed thru the adventures! This is Syfy at its best."
From Book One of this series - "It starts off slow and sucks you in. The story line is on par with Arthur C. Clark . Can't wait to read book 2."
The first book in the beginning wasn't bad the protagonist was a bad ass ,smart ,tough .a dam good pilot but as the story goes on the earth is I. Danger of being taken over by aliens and it goes down from their . I skipped most of the first book when it started down hill with the protagonist being captured co Finlayson ,his very smart girlfriend being captured Americans being captured and as an old retired combat soldier I don't think I'd want this author writing my combat plans in war,dam we would all be captured ,recaptured ,and captured again . I am a firm believer that I'd In would be a writer I would give my hero ,or heroin the knowledge Nd then power to kick the enemies ass to not get captured . Some.of.that is knowledge and situational awareness and even the. Search does happen bit surprisingly not near as much as in. Fanrasyq
The saga continues. The Ashlelion scout ship Jade was destroyed and its subspace drive reverse engineered by humans. This gave us a chance to fight back, but it wasnt enough. Happily Bonnie and Rita's diplomatic mission bore fruit, but then assassins attempted to remove Rita while Bonnie was given a secret mission. Excellent space opera. Tech, tactics, space battles, and dick matching contests.
I really enjoyed book 2 of this series. And I am eager to start reading book 3.
Phil Huddleston knows how to put together a good military sci-fi story was just the right amount of romance between characters. Not too much. Not sappy. But real love. The military action is quite a compelling read.
I enjoyed book one in the Broken Galaxy series, book two was a lot more interesting
Although I enjoyed book one in the series I wasn’t sure if the series was worth reading. But,here I am having read book two, and looking forward to the rest of the series! A lot is happening, and new people are entering The Broken Galaxy.
The three main characters from the first book continue but in somewhat independent stories. Same characters, but more depth. In this book the second installment may be even better than the first.
Not a bad read I have been reading sci-fi for fifty years and Some of the very best and so far the premise is good and enough twists to keep me engaged but I do hope his style gets better as he goes on
The story keeps you going. Thinking it is over but more events appear. It draws you in and can picture the events as if you were right next to them. I am looking forward to reading the next book.
