Interesting Summary of Tantric Ideas and Practices.

This subject is vast and expanding, as we can see in the work of Christopher Wallis. So it is useful to have a quick summary by Professor Flood that covers so much ground with clarity and historical insight.

Complicated and rambling

I'm glad I was not in these lectures. They are much like when I was at university. It's all very well knowing your subject, but there is too much irrelevant detail and not enough structure.

Unlike most books on the subject matter, Gavin Flood doesn’t dive into the sexual practice. Rather, he elucidates the religious and historical aspects of tantra. Well researched and excellently presented.
