This book was about Scottie Pippin and how he came from barely being a high school level player to an NBA All-Star. Scottie Pippin grew up in a small paper mill town in Alabama. He would play basketball with his brothers on the one goal they had in the whole town. He grew up with very little but his life started to get bad when his father got hurt in the mill and was wheel-chair bound for the rest of his life. Pippin tried out for the High School team and made it as the manager as a freshman but in his future years he would become a star at the high school. He had to figure out some disagreements with his coach that would make him better as a person and a basketball player. He had trouble finding colleges to go to for basketball scholarships and then he was finally taken in as a manager by The University of Central Arkansas. He was an instant star when he was able to play and did very well which led him to the Chicago Bulls. He won 6 championships with the Bulls and would end his career in 2008 and the Bulls retired his Jersey in thanks for all he did with them.
This book was OK, it did not intrigue me that much and it was not very fun to read. It did give pictures and quotes from interviews that would describe what the author was talking about. One thing I did like was it gave his stats of each season it was talking about in the book. Another thing I did not like was that the pictures did not come in color. The book would describe the shoes that he would wear but it would only show a black and white picture of them.
