Up the Ante and Raise the Stakes Drae Hallow, it’s going down…
I’ve finally found a place to call home. Rule 9 Academy and a group of friends I call family have survived the first semester, saved our valley, and passed all our classes…mostly.
Things are definitely looking up…until they’re not.
As the bed count starts to rise at the local infirmary, everyone takes notice. When the residents of Bitterroot and Drae Council realize what the patients are all lacking…panic sets in.
I mean, who let the Vampires out? Those blood-suckers are real, and they’re drinking the joggers. Only there were no vampires in Drae Hallow until now. Somebody let them in.
There’s clues to uncover and cold trails to follow before we uncover the truth and discover our real mission…is also a rescue mission.
It will take every bit of Skill and Magic we’ve learned, and some we haven’t, to protect the inside of Shephard’s Mountain from what’s coming and save those we thought were lost to us.
We’ll have to find out quick who can be trusted, and who wants to just see us die…before it’s too late.
Join Sadie Cross and her friends as they battle old foes, joined by new friends, in a place that is out of this world, literally…
Careful, you’ll need to finish this journey in Wyndoor, where nothing is normal and everything wants to have you for lunch.

Fire Bound Dragon is Book 2 of a series titled Rule 9 Academy. I read Book 1 in this series, and I could not put either one down. These are listed as YA genre. I’m definitely not a young adult anymore:) but I was enthralled. Fire Bound Dragon begins with the school having taken what could be called much more than vandalism, more like a direct hit. It can only be the work of Will Bennett since he slipped through the portal last Spring. The gang is back, Sadie, Thomas, Sirrus, Nick, and a very quiet but strong Fern. This is the “good gang”. Good students, excellent skills, Magicals, every one of them.
The reason this YA fantasy becomes un-put-down-able, is not just that it’s full of action and has characters you will care about dearly. Elizabeth Rain uses descriptive writing skills to make you see, help you visualize, the school, every hill, every pond, and every forest. I don’t like to read about vampires and werewolves. In this book I found myself thinking of them as people. Caring about them and empathizing. Somehow, Rain makes you do this. It’s her storytelling skill, I think. Or it could be as I said when reviewing Book 1. It could be she is able to put her wonderful imagination on paper in a way that you can share it too. You can be guaranteed I’m starting on Book 3.

I loved it!
Family, friendship, bravery, espionage, enemies becoming allies, daring rescues, fights to survive, secrets revealed and so much more. This will have you spellbound and eagerly reading more to find out what happens and how it all will unfold. I finished it in one sitting.

Excellent!
This is an excellent story from beginning to end! It has been an incredible journey so far! I'm really looking forward to seeing where this all goes! Recommend this book!

Non-stop action
There are many dangerous creatures in this tale. Magic saves the day and the misbehaving students receive a surprising punishment. I love this story.

I absolutely love this series!!! Awesome characters, great plot! Action packed!!! I couldn't put the book down and was reading well into the night!! If you haven't started this series yet- you need too!! It is great!!!
