Calle Stevens wasn’t what one would call a risk-taker.She was steady. She was even. She was . . .Pregnant.Oh God. How was she pregnant? Well, she knew the how part, but that wasn’t the point. Mistakes happened, condoms failed, birth control pills didn’t work, and . . . she was pregnant by a man who’d broken up with her via text and then readily offered to sign away his parental rights when she’d told him she was keeping the baby. Her life was ruined. She’d just been hired as an assistant coach for the professional hockey team, the San Francisco Gold. She didn’t have any family in the area, didn’t have a partner. How was she going to have a baby? But then Cooper.A star player for the team, he’d found out about the baby and had insisted on coming with her to her first appointment, then had held her hair back when she’d spent the majority of her time christening the porcelain goddess before coming to the second, and then the third, and the fourth and—In fact, as much as she tried to push him away, he refused to keep his distance. And then when she was having a particularly weak moment, feeling fat and gross and completely unappealing, he held her like she was precious and . . . he kissed her. Then didn’t stop.Calle didn’t know what was scarier, the kiss or that she didn’t want him to stop either.

I know you guys can tell from reading the blurb to this book that it’s going to be a sweet read. Don’t be fooled, that’s not all it is :) Elise makes sure to mix the sweet and sexy deliciously well!!

Cooper Cooper Cooper *happy sigh* Elise wrote the perfect hero for this story. Cooper has been sitting on the sidelines waiting for his moment to get the girl. The girl being our heroine, Calle. I loved everything about this storyline. Elise created an environment where friendship could bloom to more perfectly. She unfolded their relationship in such a swoony way that my heart is still pitter-pattering over it all!

The thing I love most about this author is her ability to adapt her writing style and voice to any trope. I’ve now read quite a few of her books and I can tell you has hit the spot all over the place. She’s become a go-to author for me in a very short period of time!

Calle may be pregnant by an ex who refuses to do right by her and his soon to come baby, but she refuses to let it get her down. She has a team to coach and she cannot be seen as weak to them or to the rest of the hockey world. And then Cooper happens to her. Cooper who has long had feelings for her but never made a move because she's his coach. So instead of making a blatant move, he is there for her, does what her ex should be doing, and endears himself to her. But, she has walls around herself that Cooper may be unable to scale. Will he ever get through to her? Get her to give him a chance?

Like the last Gold Hockey story I read, I loved this one. It's both sweet and emotionally substantial, and Cooper and Calle are perfect for each other. Can't wait for more hockey studs and the women who bring them to their knees.

Now THIS was a nice change from the norm. A female hockey player turned NHL Assistant Coach. Not only that but a tiny one that is extremely intelligent and knows her hockey skills. It made her showing up the men on her team even better than expected. Hilarious even.
Coop...be still my heart. Everything a woman would want in a man. Not cocky or a player, all perfect including the audiobooks he listens to. 😉
A man that even when he has the woman still has the need to woo and take care of her. What is not to love about him!

This was the first book out of the series I picked up being as it was a freebie and I love it! Did not feel like I missed out but made me crave wanting to read the others.
There were two epilogues and the second one pretty much just opens up for the next book in the series. Leaves you with a tad bit on a hanger but not enough to be frustrating.
Overall I really loved this and I want more.

Elise Faber hits it in the net with Coasting (Gold Hockey #8). In this story, San Francisco Gold assistant coach Calle Stevens just discovered she is pregnant by her ex-boyfriend. Offense-man Cooper (Coop) Armstrong was there for her. Both have been attracted to each other for years but never acted on it. Cooper decides to put “Operation Out-Stubborn” into place and win her over. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers.

I like Calle. She is a former member of the women’s national hockey team. After an injury, she goes into coaching. She gets an amazing opportunity to coach in the NHL. She becomes pregnant by her ex. She decides to keep the baby. Coop is the first good guy to come into Calle’s life. All the others, including her dad, let her down. However, there is the issue that Calle is Coop’s coach. The situation that starts Calle's and Coop’s relationship was awkward and entertaining. I love the Cotton Candy/Snickers analogy. I appreciated the support within the team in various scenarios throughout the book. They are a family not just a team.

Coasting was skillfully written and heartwarming. The characters were faced with interesting challenges. Coop is a great guy. I love his persistence, protectiveness, and thoughtfulness. Coasting is a praiseworthy addition to the Gold Hockey series. Followers of the series will not be disappointed. I recommend this book to people who enjoy sports romances. I am looking forward to Liam’s story in the next book, Centered. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Elise has written another fantastic book in the Gold Hockey series! I loved it! Calle and Coop were great characters! They were great for each other! They were both were attracted to each other for years, but didn’t act on it. When Calle found out she was pregnant by her ex, Coop was there for her. He was going to show her how he felt about her and that he wasn’t going anywhere. Everyone in her life, including the ex and her father, had let her down so Coop showed her nothing but support. Coasting was an amazing, heartwarming story that I enjoyed very much! If you enjoy sport romance then Coasting is the book for you!

Coasting is book #8 in the Gold Hockey series by Elise Faber. This is Cooper and Callie's story. Callie is the assistant coach who has found out that she's pregnant from her ex- boyfriend. Cooper is the offense player on the team and he's had the hots for Callie for several years. He's made sure to always be there for her but never acted on his feelings. Now Callie is pregnant and determined to do her job, not let her pregnancy effect her job. She doesn't want to be seen as weak. Cooper is determined to now show Callie that he is the perfect man for her and from there the story just heats up. There is drama, angst, romance , humor, passion and feels. Good addition to the Gold Hockey 🏒 series.

This is my second book by the author and I've really turn into a fan. This was sweet and cute read. Both MCs had a likeable qualities to them. She being a strong and independent woman. He a caring and good-hearted guy. Together they made a great couple and I loved the whole process of them admitting their feelings for each other.

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how this series continues because I have a feeling with that second epilogue we're in for a treat.

I haven't read the whole of this series but have read from book 5 onwards.
You don't particularly have to have read any of the other books to enjoy this story as each book is its own individual tale of love, although characters from previous books may pop up in the storyline now and again.
Pregnant after a one night stand with her Ex, Callie is determined to be everything her baby could possibly need on her own.
Cooper has wanted Callie for 2 years but has never made a move as he didn't want to put either of their jobs in jeopardy.
Finding out Callie is pregnant to another man doesn't change Coopers feelings for Callie and seeing her baby on the ultra sound machine spurs him on to do what ever it takes to make both Callie and her newborn child his.
An enjoyable, easy, finish in one sitting kind of read.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Calle had every reason not to trust men. Especially since she just found out that she was pregnant with her ex's baby. They had a one nightstand and her birth control pill failed. However her ex didn't want anything to do with her or the baby. Coop Armstrong is a player on the hockey team she is the coach for he see's her taking the phone call where the ex told her how he felt and her reaction though he didn't know what was happening until she told him in a moment of weakness. Calle has always tried to keep herself separate from the other team mates being a coach she didn't want to be found playing favorites. She had fought hard to make a name for herself in the NHL, she was once an Olympic player herself though her career was ended in a knee shattering accident.
Coop knew that he had a thing for Calle long before he had been picked to play for the Golds. He had seen her in the Olympics, he had seen her accident and watched her on the sidelines cheering her fellow teammates on to win the gold. He had tremendous respect for her and was thrilled when he found he would be playing with the Gold's and she would be his defense coach.
Coop knew that Calle was the one for him, he just had to get her to see that too. Will he be able to open her eyes beyond the hurt that she has been dealt over the years? This is a fantastic read, one that you will not want to put down until you finish. It is one of those stories that makes you wish that there were more guys like this in the world

I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a really sweet romance between Cooper who we have gotten to know in other books. He is african american and super HOT but also a total sweetheart and very beloved by his team. He has a wonderful family behind him as well.

In this story we also meet Calle, who is female hockey coach with a BIG problem or blessing, depending on how you look at it. Cooper has had a HUGE crush on her for years but because she coaches him he has not made a play for her. That is until he comes to her rescue and he decides he wants more.

Calle is very lonely. She doesn't have close friends or any family, she isn't sure how great a coach she is and she has been dumped by her ex. That is until Cooper rescues her...

This was a heartwarming and wonderful romance with the guy being all in and the girl really needing convincing as its her career that a romance can destroy. I loved both main characters and I loved seeing characters from the other stories support Cooper and learn to know and love Calle.

It easily stands alone and is told from Cooper and Calle's POV which is my favorite way for authors to tell their story. There are also no exes getting in the way of this romance. Its a fun and light read.

I absolutely loved Coop and Calle! She finds out she is pregnant and her ex wants nothing to do with her or the baby, but that’s ok she expected as much and she knows she can and will do it on her own. Coop just happens to be in the right place at the right time and finds the news out right away and manages to help her get to her first appointment and then somehow ended up inside the room with her. Once he sees the baby he is hooked he has always had a thing for Calle but once he sees that baby all he could think was they both were his. He fights for Calle when she doesn’t want him to after all he is just like all the other guys.. just like her ex and is going to leave once he gets bored. He has to prove that he is in for the long haul.

Which was when her tongue went on another mutiny. “I-don’t-want-you-to-kiss-me-because-I-just-puked.” His brows lifted. “What was that?” Oh God. She spun around, hands coming up to cover her face. She couldn’t say it again. She couldn’t—

I freaking loved how alpha Coop could be and how he pushed his way into Calle’s life and made her feel safe enough to finally trust him. Must read book!

Coop is the real draw in this book, he's the trophy every girl needs in her life. Gold medal material. Coop adores Calle secretly for two years. By the time Calles world spun around from one day to the other, he is there to help, to crawl into her mind and especially into her heart.
Coop is easy on the eye and easy to live with. Great parents, no secrets, he is just a little shy for the color of his skin. Calle is a freaking mess at the moment. Pregnant from a one-night stand with her douche bag ex she isn't used to have help. Her father was no good, and so she has no example to do relationship and of course motherhood right. But Coop is there and he won't go. Stubborn and steady he worms his way deep into her heart.
The Gold hockey team is like a big family and Calle notices that they are there for her if she needs them.
The book is awesome and I flew through the pages always wanting more, especially more of Coop.*sigh
But Calle is also adorable, so I don't begrudge her Coops love.
Well written, on the point and totally clear in every description this book is a new masterpiece from Elise Faber. I love her characters and her style of writing. Can't wait for Liam...

This is another great read from Elise Faber.

Calle is attracted to one of her hockey players, but the complication of an unexpected pregnancy changes things in a major way. Accustomed to the men in her life always leaving, why should she expect Coop to be different?

"Nothing really worth it is easy. Whether it's hockey or a good woman."

Coop has finally got Calle to notice him in the way he's been dreaming about for 2 years straight. Yet, he knows he has his work cut out for him before he can say she's fully his. But hard work brings sweet rewards, and Coop is determined to make her see that he's here for the long haul.

I enjoyed this book. Coop got my vote of confidence pretty early in the book because he quickly realised that pretty words weren't enough. Plus, he put in the work because he understood Calle's past and how much it affected her ability to trust.

I recommend "Coasting". Faber touches on serious issues while underscoring that love goes beyond words.

If I were to pick one word to describe Cooper it would have to be perfection. He is the unicorn of men. The one we all look for but have the hardest time finding. He has a bad tendency of putting all other men to shame. This man was willing to love and take responsibility of another man's baby all for love. So swoon worthy!!

I really enjoyed this story. I loved watching Cooper and Calle find love in each other. They were just perfect for each other. Calle needed a man to love her and her child unconditionally, especially after her crappy example of a father. And Cooper, well he just needed Calle. It was so obvious after learning how much he had followed her career that no other woman would do.

This book was low on drama but high on swoon. The perfect man fantasy book. I look forward to seeing if Cooper can be topped. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*

When Calle learns that she's regnant by her ex, she know's she's in it alone for the long haul. But when Coop overhears her argument with the ex, his protective instincts roar to life.

Coop has had it bad for Calle for years, but has kept his distance because of their Coach/Player relationship with the Gold. What he doesn't know is that Calle's been fighting that same attraction on her end. When Coop overhears her conversation with the ex, all of his protective instincts roar to life - and he's willing to go to great lengths to prove to her how good they can be together.

Coop and Calle are the sweetest pair. The second Coop decided he was done hiding his feelings for Calle, he was all in, and pulled out every trick in the book, including getting his teammates in on the action.

I have really loved the way the players of the Gold have grown into a family through this series, and their connections really came into play in Coasting. This is a great addition to the series, with one of the sweetest couples to date.

Elise Faber gives us yet another fantastic hockey romance with “Coasting” Book 6 of the Gold Hockey Series. This time we have a sexy sweet forbidden romance read with all the possible feels. Calle is an ex hockey player turned coach. In a male dominated profession she is making a name for herself. Coop is a star forward. He worked hard to get where he is and takes nothing for granted. Unbeknownst to either of them, they have both been secretly harboring feelings for the other. In a moment of weakness and loneliness, Calle sleeps with her ex and ends up pregnant. When Coop finds out, every protective instinct in him comes to the surface and he finally gives in and pursues the woman of his dreams. Never having had positive male role models in her life, Calle is unprepared for the love, affection and understanding that Coop is giving her. Watching them fall for each other and form a family makes this a fantastic Five Star Read. TBR and Enjoy.

Another Gold hockey goal for Elise Faber!
Coach Calle finds herself pregnant after a desperate and lonely night with an ex and he wants nothing to do with her or the baby. Calle losses her cool when talking to him on the phone and Cooper Armstrong walks in on the exchange and is instantly on high alert. He’s been admiring Calle for the past few years and now sees a chance to get closer as she navigates this life changer.
Not exactly a slow burn but it certainly takes Coop some time time to Woo Calle with attention and gifts. Who knew peanut butter was the way to a girls heart?
Luckily Coop is in it to win it and with the help of our other Gold friends, he wins the girl and together the overcome any fears Calle might have.
I enjoyed the new Gold hockey romance and look forward to more!!

Professionally Calle’s life is right on track as the Assistant Coach for the San Francisco Gold but the same can’t be said for her personal life. She has never been able to count on the men in her life so when she finds herself pregnant is it any wonder that she was about to become a single mother.

Cooper is one of the hockey players that she coaches. He has been attracted to her for a while but has kept his distance because of their professional relationship but when he finds out she is pregnant it becomes a gamechanger.

Calle doesn’t believe that she is in any position to be in a relationship with everything else going on in her life but she wasn’t prepared for Cooper’s determination to overcome her reservations and show her that he is a man she depend both in life and love.

I love this series. And, I love Co-op and Callie's story. Calle is the Gold hockey team's assistant coach. Cooper is the guy who has secretly wanted Calle for the last 2 years. There are obstacles, first Calle is pregnant with another man's child, second their jobs, and last but not least, Calle is convinced that no man will stick with her. All these obstacles make it difficult for them to be together, but Cooper is determined to win her heart and soul. This is a. Easy, quick read incorporating many characters from the series!

This is the 8th book in this series and is Calle and Cooper’s story. After a one stand with her ex Calle who is the assistant coach for a professional hickey team, finds herself pregnant, and the ex wants nothing to do with her or the baby and signs away his rights. Cooper is the teams star hockey player and when he walks in on a phone call, he insists on taking Calle to her first appointment and is hooked from the moment he sees the scan pictures. Coop is a truly worthy alpha who puts a lot of men to shame in the way in which is he prepared to take responsibility and love unconditionally. This is a beautifully written story which I highly recommend for all.

I loved Coop and Calle’s story! Calle is the Gold hockey team’s assistant coach. She finds out she’s pregnant and while exchanging words with the father on the phone Coop walks in overhearing. The father wants nothing to do with her or the baby. Coop has wanted Calle for years now, but has set on the sidelines and never made a move. Coop is there for Calle and even takes her to her first appointment. I loved Coop and he doesn’t care that the baby isn’t his and is willing to fight for them both. Coop and Calle were perfect for each other. I loved everything about this story and I highly recommend it.

I wish more authors realized how vital it is to have the reader engaged from the start of the book – because Elise Faber has that down to an art. Calle, herself a national team hockey player, now an NHL coach, is dumped by her ex when she falls pregnant after a night with him – and Cooper, who’s long had a crush on her, steps up. I think the word that best describes Cooper is kind; he manages to override all Calle’s objections (and there are several that are not easy to override). This is the 8th in the series, and they just keep getting better and better.

I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.

This series is new to me. I love hockey romance so I was excited to try a new author. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. Calle was a hard as nails coach, but seemed a bit insecure in herself off the ice. Nothing infuriates me more than a man that doesn't take responsibility for his actions, which isn't exactly what Calle's ex did. Enter Cooper. He didn't mean to overhear Calle's angry phone call with her ex, and she didn't mean blab her personal drama to Cooper. BUT it happened, and the result was sweet and swoon worthy romance. Cooper was patient and committed from the start. I didn't feel as though I missed anything by not reading the previous books, but Coasting made me want to.

To a stop!

Cooper Anderson has liked Calle Stevens for a while but he'd kept his distance whilst she was his coach. When he accidentally hears a conversation he shouldn't he finds himself with the beginnings of a relationship that starts as friendship. Calle is used to having weak men in her life that do not fulfil her, Cooper is different. Can Calle work out her past to find her future? How will Cooper react to the child she carries? Can their fears be put aside to create a lasting love? This was a sweet read that had hints of heat and passion. A read to pull you into the hockey world for a front row seat

I loved Cooper and Calle

Calle is an assistant coach for the Gold and Cooper is one of the top forwards.. Cooper has been crushing on Calle hard for 2 years but never made a move.. He never would put her in an awkward position like that. But it is getting harder and harder to not act.

Calle has just gotten news that throws her for a loop.. Cooper is there for her and while she never intended on leaning on him , he is with her every step of the way.

Watching their friendship grow and Cooper prove his love for her was amazing.

Prepare yourself for plenty of emotions and awww moments. I found it impossible not to enjoy this book. The story pulls you in and the feels it inspires will make you want to linger. I liked Callie but if I'm completely honest the real draw in this book was Coop. This 100% good guy was a true keeper that had your heart melting, your ovaries exploding and simply left you breathless and swooning. I wish I knew where to find my own Coop and I'm betting so will you, once you read this book. I am electing to post a truthful review.

Coasting (Gold Hockey #8) by: Elise Faber

Coasting by Elise FaberMy rating: 5 of 5 starsHer story becomes his journey. Every woman dreams of finding a Cooper. En Vogue said it best " What a man. What a man. What a mighty good man." When Calle finds herself unexpectedly pregnant with a deadbeat ex and no one to lean on, Cooper steps up to be the man she needs. One act of kindness changes three lives and stole away with my heart. Coasting is love in it's truest form.

Coasting is another amazing read in the Gold Hockey series. I love watching these fabulous hockey men fall to such strong and amazing women. You are going to love this one. Cooper is such a stand up guy. There is no doubting the chemistry between Cooper and Calle in this one. I love that Cooper steps up and doesn't care that the child Calle carries is not his. Calle is just so steady and it is so much fun watching her go after what her heart wants. This book is a quick read that you will not be able to put down.
