Hilarious book! The author has great comedy chops, and what makes his satire so effective is the truth embedded beneath the jokes. I read the whole book with George Carlin's voice talking in my head.
Author in addition is in stand up comedian role and co-author of "Dollars and sense" with Dan Ariely (another great book). Author being with stand up comedy experience most of the book is in comedy tone; still, some parts are (unfortunately) zero comedy, 100% facts: "Americans value money above all else. Life in America is kill or be killed. Success at all costs."
Hope author will find a way, patent rights and get rich (without cheating) in keeping above reality away from American Exports List. Thank you in advance for getting rich with above (hopefully successful) patent.
Funny and timely. Full Disclosure. I know the author, and discussed the book with him before actually reading it, so I have some bias and perspective on it outside of what's on the page. I enjoyed the book, mostly the parts having to do with cheating in the business world. Many of the examples he gave of egregious cheating in the corporate world were ones I've heard of, so that took some of the shock out of it. The sports and entertainment examples weren't as strong as the business examples.
Good read. It's like Steven Colbert and George Carlin wrote a book together. I loved the sarcastic tone to the whole thing. Good reminder of how so many people cheat their way to the top =/
