Rate this book
If you find it hard to focus, battle constant distraction, and feel like you work all day (and night) but get nothing done... If you feel a deep sense of overwhelm and chaos in your day... If none of the countless productivity-tips and life-hack Internet articles have given you any meaningful time back in your day... Then Home Early is THE science-and-experience-backed productivity system you've been looking for. As one reader put "Home Early is a unique resource that guides you through REAL ways in which you can make time for everything that's important to you - and still make it home for dinner!!" From the very first chapter, you'll read about the myths and truths of productivity, uncovering why you are stressed and distressed (and, of course, what to do about it). You'll be presented with exercises showing you how to gain valuable hours back into your day--hours you never thought you had. In Part II, you'll align your purpose, vision, goals, habits, and skills into the perfect productivity storm. In Part III, you'll learn proven skills and techniques for planning your weeks, scheduling your days, and tracking your progress toward important achievements. In Part IV, you'll learn how to protect your time by dealing with incoming emails, phone calls, social media notifications, and other interruptions. You'll learn how to say 'no' the right and polite way, keeping you focused on your most important work. In Part V, you'll learn the science behind why creating new habits is so hard and why you constantly fall back into patterns of procrastination. You'll uncover scientifically proven ways to optimize your mind, body, and environment for maximum productivity. Finally, in Part VI, you'll learn how to look back on your efforts and make adjustments, fine tuning your system in the future so that you rarely suffer from distractions, lack of focus, or time management issues again. That's six parts with 23 chapters on productivity, balance, getting things done, and making life work for you. Like, really friggin' work. In case it's not clear, this isn't just a bundle of useless life-hack-articles on the Internet. This is something you’ve never A blueprint for a rocket that will carry you from a life of chaos and distraction to a planet of ruthless productivity. A system that, if followed, will drastically increase your chances of getting things done, give you pride in your daily accomplishments, and still leave time for friends, family, and side-hustles after work. In short, it's a SYSTEM FOR GETTING HOME EARLY. Here's what actual readers are "This book is perfect for all of us who have work-life balance struggles along with any time management or procrastination issues. It helped me so much to be more productive. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did." - Diane L. "This book is SO helpful! It takes a holistic approach to productivity, ensuring your work is meaningful and fulfilling." - Kacie M. “It straddles the line between casual and professional and is put together very concisely what a lot of other books have already said, but with added experiences and knowledge about implementing those, which makes it an easy thing to recommend over say 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.” - Aaron M. And my "I'd argue that this is one of the most comprehensive self help books, it's an easy read, and it's pretty short. I feel like I'm constantly making progress and it's super easy to find stopping points.

Mehlberg shows with clarity how to come closer to finding the ever elusive life/work balance by giving his readers the ability to succeed by defining their own path. He developed a system for gathering data including the Pie Graph and other worksheets which are key to focus on establishing personal goals, vision and purpose. I enjoyed the sharing of raw, real life experiences laced with humor by Mehlberg that were intermingled with scientific research and data. The author's zest for life and energy is contagious and compels the reader to action. Overall, I believe this book can be beneficial for a variety of readers in providing the tools needed for personal and professional growth!

There are some solid advice in this book and the information is well presented.
If you are a Type A person, many advice in here will resonate with you.
If you are not a Type A person, some of the advice may be a challenge to follow. But if you are looking to improve your productivity while gaining more control of your time/life, this book can help you.

Lastly, just a personal note to the author...Michael, I share your disdain for Linear Algebra!!!
