Magic has never felt so good.

My memory is back.

Magic rages through my veins, singing the song of revenge. And it tastes better than Riah’s lips on mine.

I will find my way home no matter what Prince Thorne throws at me. I don’t care Riah has to say. It’s too late for apologies. We’re beyond explanations. His words are empty and mean nothing. He betrayed me. He wrapped me up like a Christmas present and delivered me right to my enemy. They did this to me…but they don’t know just how strong I am.

If they want me, well, I’d like to see them try. Here I am, come and get me.

I waited 327 years for this…I will have my vengeance.

I got lost in this one a few times. And on occasion the POV switched to a character I didn't remember and couldn't recall even being in the book so far. There are a lot of characters in this world to keep track of, and it became overwhelming in parts.
But loose ends were tied up from previous series and it has the same action and fight sequences you expect from this world. It's aimed at a slightly older audience than usual, and you definitely need to have read all the other Coven books before this one.

Took 1⭐️for Savannah being a wench most of the book. What is with this attitude all of a sudden. She was so fun in book 1.
Took 1 ⭐️ for how Tenn acted towards Gigi. Don’t get me wrong, I get him not trusting her and wanting to protect his family, but how he did it was completely OOC. Tenn is so compassionate and has so much empathy that that dialogue made no sense and left a bitter taste with me.

This has left me speechless! The journey is just incredible, it’s made me laugh, it’s made me cry, it’s got magic, mages, dragons and fae and once you pick this up then that will be it for the rest of the day! Totally hooked and the twists and turns just kept me guessing the whole read. I love the characters and Some questions have been answered but then more questions have arisen and that ending!! OMG still sitting here thinking about it!

That ending 🤯

This book had less action than the others and focused mainly on Saffie’s journey back to The Coven along with some plot development. If you haven’t read Elemental Magic (Tegan’s series) you will be a bit confused to some of the events and references mentioned! We get a lot of character storyline developments and changes that span most of the book tying up some loose ends as they gear up for the battle to come. The end is jaw dropping and going to make the next book a hell of a ride!

Holy cliffhanger Batman!!!!

Wow!! I mean just WOW!! Not sure if I have any other words lol.

Spoilers may be below so.....read at your own risk.

So, first off I just want to say I adore Saffie!! Add in Riah and it's MUAH! Perfection!! I mean they are the absolute cutest.

So, I mainly just have so many damn questions.....is Bentley older now? I know time works different in Seelie so is that what is happening with him? Is Riah's father Lucifer like Malachi's?? Does anyone know that Maddox and Amelia are soul mates? Will they come back older? UGHHHH!!! Chandelle I NEED ANSWERS!!!! lol.

I absolutely adore every book in this series. I have fallen in love with every character and am so invested in all their stories. I love how in every book (just about) you get to see just about everyone because their lives are definitely entwined.

Okay.....so in this book Saffie has gotten her memory back, FINALLY! And since she's the new Death card, close friend, and family member to some of the Coven they are trying so hard to get her home. Her close friend Savannah is also trying her hardest to find her, and is doing some pretty risky things in order to do so. This book is filled with chapters from different Coven members, Riah, and even Amelia. So lots of different perspective and a lot of stuff to follow. Saffie makes it home with the help of the Coven and Savannah (whose antics got their attention and of course Teagan just loved her lol) and now she has been initiated, and has had her soulmate ceremony. Some stuff goes down on Crone Island when Saffie gets to visit her mother and now Timothy is in the Coven again. Cooper finds out he's getting a soulmate (thanks Bentley) and it breaks Savannah's (and my) heart. Fingers crossed something will happen and it will be her!!! Sorry but I totally ship Savannah and Cooper. Willow and Chutney have a 16th birthday party, which Amelia (Deacon's cousin) and Landy (Koth's cousin and Maddox's little sister) (also Maddox and Koth are dragon shifters) get to come. Some stuff goes down a demon is summoned accidentally and bam! party goes to crap. Henley gets possessed by the demon again and the Coven have to fight off a horde of other demons. During the aftermath of that demon attack Princess Sage comes and captures Riah, Amelia, Landy, Bentley, and Paulina (previous death card) and takes them back to Seelie. Now, I feel like there's obviously a reason for this kidnapping and who she took because Sage and Thorne are supposed to be on the Coven's side, but their parents are not. Anyway, trying to figure out a way to get them back from Seelie includes talking to previous Hierophant cards. They end up having a reunion with a well loved and known previous hierophant, who informs them on how to get Bentley back and he should be able to help them get the rest back. Bentley makes it back, but apparently not the same 9 year old that went into Seelie (time works different there). And that's where we're left. So ya see I need the next book to come out like NOW....lol....but for real I'm going to be going stir crazy until it comes out and I CAN NOT FREAKING WAIT!!!!

The main characters perspectives are pretty evenly represented with Saffie perhaps being featured a bit more. I’ve got to confess that the whole storyline is starting to merge in my mind and I can’t remember the order of occurrences. Saffie does get to Crone Island and reunites with her mother and uncle whom she hadn’t seen in over 300 years. Riah is well received as her soulmate by all her relatives and friends.

Tegan is made co-leader of the Coven. There is at least one soulmate ceremony. Ditto for initiating new Coven members.

The Coven plans a surprise birthday party for Willow and Chutney who are turning 16. Many of the town witches attend. Unfortunately four children get their hands on a Ouija board and attempt to contact Libby, the deceased former Devil card Coven member and sister of one of the children. They raise the demon who had possessed Joseph instead and all hell breaks loose.

The Coven members return to the beach where they had vanquished Joseph. Seelie Princess Sage appears and snatches Riah, Bentley, Landy, Amelia and Paulina throwing the entire Coven into turmoil. Saffie as the Death card attempts to contact former Hierophants to obtain the knowledge of how to reach the Seelie tunnels for a rescue attempt.

Okay, so the Coven went to the beach in an attempt to entice the demon into appearing so they could overcome it. After they perform the rescue ritual they are left hanging around for days waiting for results. Why didn’t the evil spirit take advantage of them then while they were so dispirited? (answered in the next book)

Hey proof readers: The correct spelling is peek (to view) not peak (top of mountain)

Page 139 - “Olli. My puppy. ...I’d only celebrated his first birthday right before my curse."

Page 383 - "Olli was six months old and he was tiny."

So how old is he? Last but not least, Basset Hounds are not small dogs. Males weigh from 55-75 pounds and the way the people in this book are constantly carrying Olli is pretty improbable, especially Saffie who is only five feet tall and probably doesn’t weigh much more than 75 pounds herself.

So much turbulence in this book but it made the happy for now ending worth it. The multi-point of view was done well, they flowed with the story and was not forced at all. It was nice to see the same faces reappear and see things come together more.

Onto more about the new characters introduced in this season....

I saw some reviews saying they didn't like how Tennessee treated Savannah in this book. I must say, although it was out of his character, I can see why he did it. She blatantly disregarded what he instructed them to do which is challenging him and isn't a good look for the coven head, especially with him being young and new. I must say I didn't like Savannah at this point because she made assumptions about what the Coven did and did not do potentially putting all their work at risk as if she knew better because she was willing to dabble in dark magic...ugh she just irritated me. On a positive note about Savannah in this book, she is hilarious when dealing with Cooper. I literally cackle every time she gets so flustered and calls him daddy and don't me get started on him calling her good girl.

As for Gigi, I can't really figure her out. While she is loyal to her friends she also seems so timid and "take the back seat" on all situations and play it safe. I do think Savannah dying was a wake up call for her, hopefully she decides to attend school where she can learn to control her shifts. Hopefully from there she is able to come into her own.

I loved the true Riah, he was so sweet and Saffie totally deserved it. The anger she felt towards Riah for the lies was relatable and was responsible for a lot of the story in the book because she refused to just listen to what he had to say.

Just when Saffie was finally free and starting to enjoy life, bad things start to happen. What started as an innocence's summoning turned into a shadow demon summoning other demons, to a battle royale, to a kidnapping ending with Bentley coming back but not the same Bentley they are used to.

I am going straight to the next book because I need to see what happens!

Amazing 🤩 And Amazed by the quality of work Chandelle LaVaun constantly gives us...The Rogue Witch gives everything and more, then digs a bit deeper and again finds more...It never stops from the first chapter to the last...I was absolutely heartbroken by what Saffie goes through and has gone through for centuries..Learning the reasons for the life she was dealt and who was around her plus the reasons why had me blubbering like a mess but then I was warmed from my heart down to the tips of my toes... there is a plan for Saffie but is this what she wants? Rogue Witch is a phenomenon of a story where Saffie has experienced times of persistent or violent ups and downs as she fluctuates between prosperity or elation and despair, so prepare your emotions to feel exactly the same.... I have loved all of Chandelle LaVaun’s Coven series so if you have missed any please go back and read them as it will enrich your reading experience very much plus they are Incredible books. (Though not needed just my thoughts). I can’t believe how this book never takes a breath, there is always something happening, even in the gang’s down time !! The action is really jam packed into this continuing series, introducing intriguing new characters that pop in and out but never is a character in any of these books have less value than the rest....Chandelle LaVaun you are an absolutely amazing author! I couldn’t sleep or put this book down from the second I started reading it, creating is just to inconceivable to even think about...if I could give this 100/100 I would still say it’s 200/100 because still now after the exceptional , unexpected ending I won’t be able to rest until I have the next book in my hands ASAP pleaseeeee 🙏.....would I recommend? Can’t you see me jumping up and down waving this giant banner ? No ? Then read it for yourself 😁and you will understand the excitement about The Rogue Witch 🧙‍♀️

I hope you like it better than I did

I really want to rant about some of the author's decisions in this book, but that would be spoilers. So...

World building: it felt lazy. LaVaughn has a tendency to reference movies in her books. Sometimes it's cute. Sometimes it's funny. Sometimes it feels intimate, like a wink from the author. Sometimes, I just want to groan. But this is me. A person who loves watching YouTube videos about HEMA and had a four year old obsessed with dinosaurs. There are also some internal consistency problems, especially with Iran's timeline.

Plot: meandering. It started very focused on rescuing Saffie. That was accomplished about a third of the way through the book. Then stuff just sort of happened.

Characterization: There are some instances where I felt a character was acting out of character. Also, a couple instances where a character acted in a way I don't approve of. I especially hate when heroines forgive their love interests instantly. I never really bought into the romance between Saffie and Riah. I don't think LaVaughn did a good job letting us get to know them at all. I don't find either of them particularly sympathetic.

POV: This story isn't told from one or two people's point of view. There is Saffie. Riah. Tennessee. Tegan. Savannah. And As pen, a character I don't remember meeting before her POV introduction. It got confusing at times.

Despite these problems, all our favorite characters are here, and I'm sure I won't talk you out of reading it if you've read and loved the other books as much as I have. There is an overarching plot, and you will be very confused if you skip this book in favor of the next.

Just when you think Chandelle can’t outdo the amazing last book in this series, she goes and writes something like the Rogue Witch. Just Wow, wow, wow. There is heart-pounding danger and adventure, astounding magical gifts and feats, there are new alliances formed and there is grab-your-tissues heart energy in this one. Not sure how she keeps all the characters and interconnections straight, but there is sooo much information in this installment. I am awed by the clever, complicated plot twists and turns this author continues to create in her enthralling stories.

Readers beware, carve out significant time to read this one because it is the longest book in the Coven Universe and you will not be able to put it down once you start. Also be prepared to be horrified and sad, but also touched and moved to tears over and over again. So much love – between couples and so many BIG changes happening for several Coven members. I will need a few days to ponder and process all the developments, and then will go back and re-read very soon to re-savour this one. Amazing, stupendous. Again, just Wow! Definitely my Favourite Book of 2020 - Chandelle I can not wait to see where you take this story and these characters next. Highly recommend.

The Rogue Witch (The Coven: Fae Magic Book 2)

I really do not know where to start, what a spectacular book, it will make you laugh 😂, cry 😢, yell and want to throw something....I love 💞💜💞💜💞💜 Saffie, she makes me smile, she has such a kind heart ♥️!!! I am still on the fence about Ricah, I know he did good , but he still brought her to the fae prince...

I am not sure how Ms. Chantelle does it over and over again....
Never stop writing, your books are incredibly written. I am so glad that the gang always comes through somehow,it keeps it alive and I just love 💕 everyone.... she may have to give the characters kids, and grandkids!!! That’s how incredible this book is, I am going reread it over the weekend.

I’m afraid if I say anything else, I will spoil it for everyone, I started reading between lesson planning , and I couldn’t put it down, luckily I set an alarm before all my classes, or I would of missed teaching.

I received this book as an arc copy, and my review is of my own opinion, I would of purchased it and waited, but I was lucky enough to be an arc reader. I am going to purchase the book anyway to complete my sets of different series.

I definitely recommend this book, I promise you will not disappointed .💜💞💜💞💜💞

I liked this book way better than the first in the seriesI have obviously been following this series for a LONG time (season 3 whoop) so I was more than a little disappointed when the first book in the Fae Magic season didn’t have a lot of the other characters. That was totally rectified in this book!

I enjoyed the plot. I am so happy Saffie is back with the gang and has her memories. I am not to sure I care for Riah’s explanation of why things were the way they were, I felt it was a bit of a cop out reason, but it did paint him in a better light. The whole coven was back together again (which I loved) and overall things were going really well, well until they weren’t.

My biggest complaint in this book was that there were a lot of ceremonies. I know, weird complaint considering it is a magic arcana book, but there were so many ceremonies, and they were jam packed back to back it felt like. I just don’t find them the most entertaining to read, but that could just be me.

The ending is so crazy! I really need LaVaun to plan to release this book before the expected publishing date because I am confused and curious and ugh!

Happy times before the first strike

It's a 3.5 for me. Most of the book consisted of happy times and celebration for everyone being back together again (and then some). Saffie and Riah are... Interesting. Silly at times. Savannah and Gigi are interesting characters as well but only one of them seems genuinely full of promise. At least promise I'd happily delve into. The other felt like a secondary character, and that's rare considering how many people in the Coven can feel like primary people.

I wasn't as entertained by the main people and I'm not sure why. I can only assume it's after meeting Amelia and seeing her turn into a mini Teagan just because her soulmate "brought it out of her" is weird to witness... that I'm now seeing the same thing with Saffie. I thought she'd grow out of it. There's just too many main characters saying things out loud, having tempers, saying NOT TODAY SATAN... I don't know. It's starting to feel like I'm reading the same person, and using the excuse that they're all just close doesn't work... Thank God Emersyn kept her personality lol.

The ending was certainly exciting and I'm more than ready for the war teased at the end of season one.

Another book in an epic urban fantasy adventure series.

This is book 2 in this particular chapter of this multiple sets of series of books. All involving basically the same characters and different periods in their life and battles against good and evil. The coven is the ruling group of witches in the world. Males and females that are witches live among us. Coven is a Group the rules the supernatural in our world. They are called arcana and are born from the blood of angels and magical people from humans beginning. Over the millennia they have fought a good and evil and save the world many times. The archangels help them on occasion and fight with him we need. Lilith is the evil that is trying to take over the world and has been for millennia. This is another war in the process and the coven is there to try and stop it. Go back to Book one in this authors multiple series of books if you have not read them yet. They are extraordinary and epic reads everyone. You will not be disappointed.

I've said this about so many of Chandelle's books, but they are beyond amazing and her books surpass any bar I could ever set for them. Her passion for writing is so easily seen in her books.. This talent women right here will make you fall in love with reading as well.. Her characters are so unbelievably easy to love and so relatable.

Her writing will take you on a journey. The rogue witch will make you want to laugh, cry and possibly fight someone. I couldnt put the book down.

I love that in each of her new seasons of books we still see our original coven and we still see their growth and struggles.

No spoilers but the last chapter will have you so desperate for the next book. The things her little devious mind does! I love that her writing always leaves you wanting more. And want more.

Definitely one of my favorite authors, and she changing the games of reading forever.

I was given an Arc of this book for my honest opinion and I loved it.

The Rogue Witch was a highly anticipated journey that was well worth the wait! Saffie is a character I hold dear to my heart and I was so glad to see justice for our favorite Fae-witch. A bit longer than previous books, The Rogue Witch was a mixture of relief and excitement. In true Chandelle LaVaun fashion, while we get answers to various questions, even more pop up. I was glad to get to the bottom of the theories and see what the truth was, but of course the twists were highly unexpected!
Emotions ran high and shocks hit deep in this installment, as we see moments that have been long awaited and tug at your heart. It’s truly something beautiful to witness.
Those who have followed me for a while or know me personally know my love for these books and the author herself. LaVaun never disappoints and that is another reason you should pick up a copy of any of her novels now!

DNF: I stopped about 45% of the way through this book and I just couldn't get into it. It's all over the place which I get is the author's style. But it didn't work for me this time around. On top of that, I don't enjoy Savannah like I did in the first book. I also don't love how Tennessee handled things with Gigi. I get what happened and why he reacted the way he did. I'm not going to go into detail, but I understand it. What I don't get is that through the entire series of books, he has always been understanding and always level headed. He hasn't this way in this book. Also, can we just chat for a minute about how long it has been from the very first book to this one?? It's been months or something ridiculously short like that and I find it harder and harder to believe that all of those people (full grown adults) constantly defer to children.

Just keeps coming

I have read every book in all three seasons of The Coven Saga, and I am never bored with it. Some series by this point would be getting a little too out there or the story is dragging, but not this series. I have a hard time putting these books down, and wait on pins and needles for the next. In this season Saffie is amazing as our anchor character, with so much support from all our old favorites, and a few new ones. I love reading and seeing how all the little things pull together from book to book. I can't wait for all the things I'm seeing so far to come into play. Why can't the next book be here NOW!!! Oh the agony!

Love love Saffie

I have been reading Chandelle LaVaun since the very beginning. Each and every time I pick up a book of hers, I find myself losing track of time and wanting to do nothing else but read.
Saffie has been a favorite of mine for awhile now and her and Riah story will give you all the feels you could ever want. And if you were missing the Coven? They are back and badder than ever. So buckle up buttercup because this is one hell of a ride that will leave you gasping for breath.

Wild ride of emotions!

If I could give it more than five stars I would! Chandelle takes her readers on a wild ride of emotions. I have giggled and cried during the reading and in places my heart was pounding, wondering what on earth was going to happen next. Questions were answered but as with all the best authors, more were created! To understand everything you do have to read from season one but trust me, you won't regret investing in it. So come on in, what are you waiting for??

Sooo much to take in

I’m gonna do a reread of all of it and use a whiteboard to take notes. Chandelle is wicked smart and keeps us on our toes. This book was so action packed, sentimental and hilarious. I get so involved in this world I forget I don’t have magic myself, which leads to situations irl where I find myself trying to magically retrieve my mail and confused on why it won’t appear in my hand. I hope everyone that believes in magic gives these series a try and joins us on our crazy fb page.

Absolutely loved this one was great to see Saffie reunited with the coven and for things to be pretty much straight forward with Rhia.

So this book has all the reunions we have been waiting for and more, some totally unexpected which were amazing.

Wow what a cliffhanger...I don't know what Chandelle is up to? Bentley that was so unexpected, I can't even!

Plenty of content, loads of laughs lovely character interaction. The whole story is moving forward amazingly and I can't wait to see where it goes.

Brilliant as ever!

So much happens in this book. I will warn you, you will cry. This book was so good. I would say it's my favorite in this season! Saffie finally gets her memories back. That's not to say she doy go through hell in this book to. As always I love the Lord of the Rings, Marvel movies, Percy Jackson, & Harry Potter references. The addition of Jurassic Park references was a nice unexpected addition. Saffie comes a long ways in this book, but as far as fighting goes she has a lot to learn! I can't wait for the next one.

Another Heart Wrencher

Chandelle knows how to many you feel a myriad of emotions. She'll have you saying what the heck, smiling and giggling, then on the verge of tears.

In this book Saffie goes through so many different journeys while running from Riah. Her friends do all they can to get her back. With Savannah Grace and Tegan on the job things get interesting.

So "Fasten thy rope of will and deed" because you're in for a bumpy ride that will end in one crazy cliffhanger!

Ok I don’t want to rate this book because I realized why I’m not loving it… it’s an additional series that is meant to be supplemental to another series this author has written. So there’s a TON of background that you just lack as a reader if you didn’t read the first series she’s done going into this. I gave the first book a 3, and will go back and change that to a no rating too. I don’t think I’ll keep listening to the next two of this series and will start from the beginning. The characters seem really good, I just seriously had no idea what was going on the entire time basically.

I love Saffie. She is fierce, gorgeous, & intelligent. Old love 💙 I loved getting little snippets of Saffie’s past & the POV from other characters in the series. Savannah really steps up in this book making her a great addition to the Coven as a non coven member. There are so many surprises in Rogue Witch that I never saw coming. Especially for the ending. I’m anxious, worried but very excited for The Rotten Witch! Chandelle LaVaun manages to outdo herself once again!
