An icy wasteland. A walled Metropolis. Two worlds. One mission. Zeke Watson has the weight of every world on his shoulders. A mysterious threat endangers all of existence and he is tasked with rescuing the past, the present, and the future. While he leads a team onto a frozen tundra, Adaliah Bancroft sets out for a gleaming metropolis. Both of them are tasked with the same goal. Two tips of the same spear, at least one of them will fail. But can the other succeed and reapply balance to the universe? Ride along for the high-octane finale of The Watchers Series. It’s perfect for fans of A.G. Riddle, High Howey, and Stephen King’s The Dark Tower.
The title of the first book in this series grabbed me and I thought, hell why not. What I didn't expect to find was a masterful crafting of mixed theologies, existentialism blended with action and adventure. Our patrons find themselves in two Margaritavilles one frozen and one on the rocks. This is one place where you don't want the chaser at last call. Now sidle up to the bar feeling the floorboards shift and creak through those trail worn boots, hear the sad song on the jukebox serenade that dusty sweat soaked brim kissing sun baked ears, let the whiskey wash down to all sixth senses strapped in leather to the hip and seek succor for cleansing the soul in the damp rag laden hand of that wisened man. Every Texan's afterlife needs strong whiskey and cold beer.
About the Book: Dawn of the last, final battle between good and evil, the fight for balance, the fight for life, and afterlife itself. And Zeke is to lead the fight, a team into another time, a different world, where they’ll need to stop the very apocalypse itself. No pressure.
My Opinion: It’s an interesting story, just poorly written, with a very painful lack of character development that really affects the experience. That isn’t to say these are bad books, bad tale. Merely, it could’ve been way better.
Tom Abrahams books are some of the best in my library. I always look forward to new books from Tom. The Watchers series is exciting and suspenseful and can't wait for more in the series. Keep up the amazing work Tom. Go Team Zeke!!!
I read this book and realized I need to start with book one and read it all at one time. I am so glad I did. I think this is a book that should be one instead of a series. It is just that kind of read. Maybe I am reading more into this but it was kind of deep. Good vs Evil. Not the Biblical kind but maybe the fringes to .... this quote "You and I two sides of the same coin. You are the light. I am the dark. It is as it has always been and always will be.” Yeah. The lightbulb came on. Pedro said the same thing about his brother but here after knowing their history things fell into place and I realized I read a awesome story.
They all felt it. All the Watchers knew this mission could end the worlds. All the worlds. Every world in the multiverse could end. Would end. Might end. As if it never existed. As if they never lived, died, lived again. Never happened. Zeke, Li, Branch, Barack, Uriel and all the rest - never lived, never loved, never existed. The Suriv could end mankind.
Pedro's Bar, the Watchers, the Horde - Harbingers of the Real Death, amazing concept and storyline. The Watchers are a fantastic bunch of characters, often confused but usually getting the job done, always maintaining the Balance. Another great read!
The Patrons of this bar are Watchers and others who play a supportive role. The Watchers are all dead. In their prior life some were good people, others not so. But all, worthy of redemption. They go on missions to fight a perceived wrong. Sometimes the wrong is only in one's perception. Some are self serving, only thinking to benefit themselves. Willing to take advantage of others. A true leader does not. They rule with their heart, compassion, love. An excellent read!!! Enjoyed immensely!!!!!
Sorry to see the trilogy end. Like the other two, I just couldn't put this book down. I kept telling myself I would read just one more page, I would
Like the first two books, I couldn't put this book down, just one more page then I 'll put it down and get some work done. I keep wondering what fate awaits Theo. Could this lead to a spin-off from the series? Looking forward to more books from this impressive writer.
I thought that this was a fun series. I was glad that Tom Abrahams brought it to a conclusion rather than trying to drag it out into many books. Three books were just about right. I will now look for other books that he has written.
Far too often authors decide to drag out these trilogies into some huge project. I find it refreshing when a story comes to completion and then we can move on to something new.
This series was fun. It easily fulfilled the goal of captivating me and causing me to lose focus on the horrors occurring in Biden’s America. Each book was read in one sitting. A cross between drama/thriller/horror & philosophy genres and far from my usual fare, yet very pleasing.
A really good series. A tale of good and bad ,and it isn't always good that wins the day . A twist in this tale that will have you rereading some chapters wondering how you missed it first time round . I would definitely recommend this series.
The Bar in the Middle of Nowhere Answer this question and you will understand the balance of all: how is the beginning the end, and the end the beginning?
