About the author

As a child, Thiago got told off constantly for doodling instead of paying attention. He still gets told off constantly, but not so much for the doodling, these days.

Thiago writes and illustrates all sorts of books, from picture books to fiction and non-fiction. The Zoomers’ Handbook (written with his wife Ana), was published in 2015 by Andersen Press. It was on the long list for the Klaus Flugge award and won the Sheffield Children’s Books Award in 2016.

Myth Atlas - a guide through 12 worlds of myth and legend - was published by Alison Green Books/Scholastic in September 2018 and has been translated to 16 languages so far.

He lives in London with his wife, children and pet tortoise, Nibbles, and is working on a bunch of new books and comics.

Wat een supertof en leuk boek was dit! Ik heb onwijs genoten en ik wil meer! Ik vond het geweldig dat het plaatsvond in het Oude Egypte! Leuke illustraties.
Ontmoet Harry een jongen die ik in het begin nou niet echt leuk vond. Iets te streberig en kijk mij eens geweldig zijn. Maar later in het verhaal, als hij leert dat er meer is dan school, komt het wel goed en zag ik ook gewoon een lieve jongen die lekker met zijn vrienden speelt. Ik vond het supertof dat hij door een wiskundesom in het Oude Egypte komt (eindelijk iets goeds aan wiskunde) en ook erg leuk om van alles te lezen over het oude Egypte. Van taal tot de lessen op school tot huisdieren en lekker eten.
Ik had alleen niet echt door (ja, ondanks dat de tijd werd genoemd) dat er al zoveel tijd voorbij was bij het einde. Haha.
Maar echt een tof boek met een leuk einde. Ik hoop voor meer boeken met Harry.

This book deserves so much more attention. It called to me from the shelf with it's beautiful cover, and the illustrations sealed the deal. A fantastic adventure about how even the most sensible person can have an epic adventure, and make some wonderful friends along the way.
Some great historical elements make this a fun way to learn more about Ancient Egypt.

That was lots of fun. When Henry finds himself transported to Ancient Egyptian, he makes friends, tastes new foods, but mostly learns lots... but will he learn how to get back to modern day? This is GORGEOUSLY illustrated and would be perfect for an Ancient Egypt topic! The pages of this are so brilliantly done that there’s plenty to look at and learn from! I loved Henry and his friends a lot - they all worked together very well!

I loved this book to the moon and back. It is not too hard with very insanely hard words that make us go ka-ray-zee!

Henry is a very nerdy, too goody shoes!
This book inspired me to write my own book.
I really hope this book gets a part two...
I will be waiting for that.
This book deserves attention and this book deserves to be a bestseller.

Ik ben duidelijk niet de doelgroep, dus ik geef het ook geen cijfer. Vooral gelezen voor inspiratie voor afstuderen. Ik had verwacht dat het meer zou vertellen over het oude Egypte, maar dat viel best tegen. Illustraties zijn leuk gemaakt.
