It was so easy to piss her off. So he did it frequently, just to get a rise out of her. Wade Brooks lived and breathed the Blazing Eagle ranch. It was in his blood, and raising cattle was all he knew. But when it came down to the girl next door, Joy Whitaker, he knew one thing. He got a kick out of seeing her angry. She was a spitfire and challenged him every chance she got. He’d loved to tame her, but she would fight back. Their families were at odds with each other. The rivalry dated back before either of them was born. Whitakers and Brooks grew up hating each other. A good ol’ country family feud. Until now. One kiss and Wade was willing to bury the hatchet. A taste of her, and he knew she belonged to him. The past didn’t have to drive their future. Or did it?

This is a great fun read that proves that love will conquer all
Wade Brooks is the middle son of the Brookes family he is the son that eats lives and breaths the Blazing Eagle Ranch there is only one other thing he enjoy in life and that is tormenting and getting a rise out of Joy Whitaker the girl on the ranch next door. There is plenty of history between the Brooks and Whitaker family in fact there is a feud going on that started before these two where born When Wade kisses Joy though he realises he no longer wants to be her enemy he wants something much more permanent between them but can they have any chance at a HEA when their families are at war. You will have to read to see if they have a future together
Audio Review: Roping a Cowboy (Blazing Eagle Ranch) is a entertaining listen in this series. Drama fueled, romance, tight knit families, two family's history and old fued that just won't go away. The characters are fun and the storyline keeps you listening to the very end. Humor, snarkyness and passion all written into the love saga.
Gillian Williams, Tim Paige dual narration performance brought the characters and their story to reality. Smooth and easy listening. Great performance.
They will need to overcome feuding families to get the HEA they deserve
Roping A Cowboy is the second book in the Blazing Eagle Ranch series. It is a delightful story of Wade Brooks and Joy Whitaker. The two families have a history that stems from their fathers and a land deal that became a feud. So with dug in patriarchs these two have to figure out if what their father's want is is for them or if what their hearts want, each other, is the choice they will make. Wade is steadfast, strong, plain spoken, truthful and very honorable. He is also a real sweetie in that he is caring and will stay loyal and loving to those that he chooses to. Joy is a woman who loves her family and abides by their decisions for the most part. But she also has known, liked and loved Wade since she they were kids. There has been a "friendly" rivalry between them that dates back years in just about everything they did in and out of school. That rivalry masks deeper feelings they have for each other and pushes them into finally confessing their feelings and then some. The question is whether what they feel for each other is enough to overcome the feuding families and hard feelings that have been carried for years.
This is a lovely story with a great story-line and wonderfully written characters. There is drama, fun, sweetness, romance and of course a lot of steamy chemistry and them some.
I received a copy of this book for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
The Brookses and Whitakers gave them a good run for notoriety. Their grandfathers had struck a deal that their fathers could not find an amicable agreement to, causing their families to butt heads because of it. But Wade Brooks and Joy Whitaker believed their father's disagreement did not have anything to do with them. They were determined to keep their relationship a secret until they could figure out how best to deal with their families. That was until Joy's big brother found out and was determined to protect his sister from those no-good lying Brookses. Joy thought that breaking up with Wade, there would be no more fighting between her brother and Wade. Well, that only made both of them miserable. When Joy thought she would lose Wade forever, she quickly went to his side. Wade was more determined than ever to get their fathers to agree so he and Joy could have their HEA.
This story about the feuding families was a very good one, showing how the stress of it took its toll on the lovers who had been eyeing each other for a while. Poor Joy was torn between her love of Wade and loyalty to her father, and her hot-headed brother made matters worst. Poor Wade was miserable without his pretty lady and almost drank himself to death. It was good reading that Parker and Maddy are engaged. I just want to know who will Carson ends up with.
This is Wade's story in the Blazing Eagle Ranch series and this is a good one. Wade Brooks and Joy Whitaker were supposed to be enemies due to a feud between both their grandfathers many, many years ago. It was clear to see however that behind all the stares, glares and snide remarks that there was a deep and growing attraction between them both. An innocent neighbourly dinner ended up a hot night in the sheets with both Wade and Joy willing to see where all the heat and passion might lead. Will they let a little thing like an age old family feud come between them and what was clearly meant to be? I loved this book, the characters and the whole country/ranch setting. This story has been told a thousand times before but I was still left with a wonderfully satisfied feeling. Carson is the third brother and seems to be a right handful. I cannot wait to see what he gets up to in his book.

A great enemy to lovers' romance. The attraction between them was growing. There was no denying it was there. There had been bad blood between their families long before either of them was born. The Brooks’ brothers had a way with women. Being a rancher’s daughter, she wasn’t the most feminine girl around.
Joy’s family owned and operated the Fox Run Ranch, where they raised sheep. Her family has been feuding with their neighbors for centuries. She went to school with the Brook brothers. That man sure had a way of pissing her off. And she was secretly lusting after him. He was too dang sexy for his own good.
Wade’s family owned and operated the Blazing Eagle Ranch, the largest cattle ranch in Colorado. He’d known Joy since they were kids, and she was a fierce competitor in everything she did. Her curves were what every man dreamed of. Joy Whitaker lived to argue with him. Who would have known they had so much chemistry?
Roping A Cowboy is the next book from the Blazing Eagle Ranch series by Peyton Banks. It is a must read!
Wade is the next Brooks brother to be struck by Cupid’s arrow. Falling for Joy, the daughter of his father’s enemy, is not the smartest decision but in this case the heart wants who it wants.
What I love about this book is the chemistry between Wade and Joy. I laughed and swooned and thoroughly enjoyed the banter between the characters. This book is one of my absolute favorites from P. Banks.

This is such a good read. A well written storyline and wonderful characters that are captivating, Sincere, honorable (Wade) and realistic. The feud between the Whitaker’s and the Brooks’ was started years before Joy and Wade were born. Wade and Joy had a thing for each other before they even realized it. They secretly saw one another not knowing what would happen when their families found out. Of course they did! Such a fun read with humor, snarky feisty ribbing, Joy’s overly protective hot head brother, bar fights and plenty of passion. A very entertaining and enjoyable read with a HEA! Looking forward to Cason’s story.

I absolutely loved this book and I found myself laughing and crying and just loved how they tried to fight their feelings for each and couldn't do it. Roping a Cowboy by Peyton Banks is the 2nd book in the series. a story of two rival family started 3 decades ago when grandpa whitakers sold a piece of their land to the Brooks family in aggrement that they can buy it back. but when Davis whitakers went to the Brooks family to buy their land back Jonah Brooks refuse because in that land they build their new house so he offer a different land near the witakers but they also refused so the bickering begins! this is Wade and Joy romance story. a sweet, cute, fun, steamy and emotional story that you will love and enjoy reading! well done!

Ohh Wade really does love to rile up Joy and she totally lets him do it and it's been going on forever but now things are changing and it leaves you cheering for them but knowing there is some pretty major obstacles in their way. I really do loath Wades Dad and Joys brother well I would like to whack him across the back of his head one of them surprises you and the other continues to frustrate you. There are plenty of laughs, steamy scenes, frustrations, heartache and a couple who just want to be in love but have to fight their families and their history and that's a lot to deal with!!!

Joy aka Whitaker and Wade aka Brooks are two rival family for two generations. They have been competitive and attracted to each other since high school. No matter there is a winner in everything these two did: bowling, shooting, auction bidding and getting under each other’s skin. Great characters. Rivalry is more of the family. How do you love the enemy and keep saline with family? What happens when your family finds out before you are ready to “confess”? Holy Mac and cheese!! No cliffhanger but put your dukes up for fisticuffs

Wade and Joy come from families that do not get along. Will an old land feud get in the way of their budding relationship? I liked the sensual love scenes, complicated family ties, Joy’s expression of her feminine side, Wade’s gentlemanly nature, their friendly competition and the way major issues are resolved with communication. The way the main characters interact is so engaging with chemistry, tenderness and fun. They have a few rough spots but get their HEA in the end. I also enjoyed the first book that featured Wade’s brother Parker (Back In the Saddle), so I’ll definitely be looking for more stories from this cowboy family and the women they claim. Peyton, keep the cowboys coming!
Not into the whole family drama dynamic, but this was still a good story! Joy was a bold woman, but her family was her weakness, so she let them almost cause her to lose Wade! Divine destiny seemed to come to the rescue and saved the romance! They were headed to a future wedding date, with a baby on the way!
Reading this and similar Goodreads seems to solidify the thought that most 21st century women want babies, so why do we have all these anti abortion people whining about the need to ban abortions because so many women are aborting babies? I do not get it or why women today do not practice safe sex! 🤔
Two feuding ranch families and our couple caught between. I liked that we saw them fall in love rather than in the first one where they fell in love in the past and we didn’t see any of it. I love that realisation moment of ‘oh I love them’ and we got two excellent ones in this.
Her brother was soo annoying. No grown man starts bad fights as easily as he did. The brother also wasn’t very developed as a character, he just existed to push the plot along, but I needed some redeeming characteristic to make me care for him which I didn’t. I loved the character development for the dad though! Please tell me we’re getting his romance with the nurse later!!
Lots of thoughts here…the only reason this isn’t getting 5 stars is because of Joy’s insufferable family and the total 180 in personality of Joy once she and Wade got together. First, her parents are the worst, busy bodies and not self aware. Second, her brother was straight up trash and hard to read through, I considered DNF when he instigated the second fight at the festival. Also, they just never wrapped his storyline up??? Lastly, Joy started off as a confident and self assured person which is what drew Wade to her in the first place, then all of a sudden she’s this weak woman who is crying constantly and can’t stand up to her brother and mother??? Ugh…but I did really like the couple

‘Roping A Cowboy’ was sweet. The touching plot involved bad blood between two families whose properties bordered each other. Additionally, it involved developing a relationship, skirting around the families, a brother protecting his sister, heartache, brothers pitching in, too much carousing at the Country Festival, a health scare, reconciliation, and falling in love. Moreover, Wade and Joy, the protagonists, worked hard trying to achieve their HEA. They were made for each other. In addition, I liked the author’s vivid descriptions, which created an upbeat tone. Overall, I liked the warm narrative.
I loved this book. The details on the characters, the feud, and the family love all of it was great. We were giving insight into the characters. Getting the families together so they can have their happily ever after. Wade and Joy were great together. I even enjoyed the meddling family members. It is amazing how misinformation can blow up to to be a big deal. The plot was not overly predictable. I will be reading more by Peyton Banks. I enjoyed her writing style.

This is book two in the Blazing Eagle Ranch series and it’s definitely a must read for all. Wade and Joy are neighbors and their families are enemies. Wade loved getting under Joy’s skin just to see her angry. One kiss changes things for Wade and he wants her for his own. I loved the banter between these characters and their chemistry is incredible. An incredible read and one everyone should read and enjoy, I highly recommend it.

I was actually really happy with this one. I can't speak for everyone but I needed some lighthearted reading but something that gives my a pinch of angst like I like. This was book. Because the main characters had history, it didn't make them coming together unrealistic. You got your bit of drama because let's not lie, we love a pinch of drama. Them coming back together was really what did it for me. Everything felt well written and not rushed.

Yes, it took me a minute to write this review. Because with what’s going on with Wade and Joy. Or should I say the Hatfield’s and the McCoy’s? Or the Montague’s and the Capulet’s? No matter how you say it, or even see it. You have to read it. Boy, my Texas boots are hankering for some Colorado dust. If nothing else but visit. This series is bound to keep me going.

I asked for more and you gave me more. I was totally in love with Wade and Joy’s story. I thought it is going to be hard for Payton to top Parker and Maddy Girl’s story. Wow!!! Was I ever wrong. This book was a one day read. This series just keep getting better and better. Let me say it LOUD AND CLEAR!!!!! We need Carson’s Story. I would like to get a short story for Jonas as well. Please and Thank You in advance. You can read this as a stand-alone, but why would you want to. Payton have the best ways of making her books flow together.
Wade and Joy are headstrong and proud. They both know what they want and who they want; and they want each other. You can tell how much they value their families and their love of the land. Unfortunately, their hard headedness and their families stubborn nature causes problems along the way. Prepare for a wild ride but ultimately, roping a cowboy will rope you in by the end of the story.

This is a romance where you know what will happen, if not the order. However, the flow of the story, along with the depth to the characters and a brilliant back drop gives you enough surprises to keep you hooked. The interactions made me smile and the romance warmed from the inside. I romance for the romantic.
4 stars, well earned.

The second book in the Blazing Eagle Ranch series a well written Western story that kept me turning pages. This is the first book in this series that I have read and I now want to read the first book in this series. Wade Brooks lived and breathed the Blazing Eagle ranch and riling Joy Whitaker was his passion. Their families do not like each other. I enjoyed seeing this enemies to lovers story come together. I've never really been into Westerns or cowboys but after reading about the Blazing Eagle Ranch, I'm ready to try my hand at roping a cowboy. Sexy Wade always had a thing for sassy one of a kind Joy. Throw in a Hatfield and McCoy family feud and you have the makings of a sizzling romance. I absolutely love this series and highly recommend Ms. Banks. Kudos Peyton Banks for a story well told.
Good premise for a light romantic read. Horrible character execution. The Wade character is more likeable than his female counterpart, but neither of them acquit themselves very well in terms of intelligence with how things were handled. This basically reads like an attempt to string together a love story in between sex scenes. She's a weak minded knee jerk responder who can't communicate. He's mildly pathetic. Her brother is an idiot bully that needs his ass beat.
This book was a really good read. It funny , and sexy, and full of loving families. Bad blood brought on from generation to generation finally comes to and end. But just like every family there's always one pain in the ass that holds the grudge that had nothing to do with them. Two ranch families with a land problem , but the children fall in love and that's what makes them try to find a happy solution.
