The strength of this book is that it is simple, and portable.

Therefore it is an excellent guide for beginners.

It's rather less suited to the experts (they have already read these things).

Another strong point are the many color illustrations.

Overall, a very good job for beginners!

This was the first book, the one that began my collection of tarot books. I love it, and I've re-read it many times. However, there are now 2 other tarot books in my collection that supersede it...most notably, Mastering the Tarot: Basic Lessons in an Ancient Mystic Art, a classic from the early 70s that, coincidentally, this book, The Tarot Directory, plagiarizes entire sentences from, word for word. I can't give it 5 stars for that reason, despite how much I do love it.

this spiral bound book is great for beginners. it gives both a basic overview of what tarot is and what it can do. each card is given a keyword, brief summary, symbol meanings, and basic interruption. the back of the book gives several different spreads as case studies only.

i like the fact that it's a spiral so you can lay it flat and read if you need help with certain cards. however the type is TINY. i struggle with reading it because of that.

Good for the beginner and I like how the info is tabbed. Not a deep book, but certainly enough to get started.

Good for beginners. The chapters are separated by tabs making each card easy to find. The type could have been a lot larger (5pt) and the space between lines a lot less.
