I picked this book up when I was visiting my in-laws and browsing through their shelves. My father-in-law worked at a newspaper and so did night shifts for a while. As I am doing shift work now, I thought it would be good to read.

This book has lots of practical information in it. I've thought about and read about sleep and sleep theory and stuff before, so most of this wasn't new to me, but it was presented nicely and easy to implement. I especially liked the chapter about using suggestion to fall asleep.

There are all kinds of good ideas for people who have sleeping difficulties, especially shift workers. I read this to help out a friend writing a paper about how shift work is difficult biologically, and it had some good hints and a some nice references to continue research. It is a popular medicine book, nevertheless the information is useful.
