Copious, dramatic color photographs and poetic quotations illustrate these essays describing the whitewater rafting experiences of 15 prominent female writers sent down the Colorado River during the summer of 1997. 11x10. Annotation c. by Book News, Inc., Portland, Or.
These powerful accounts of an experience so life-altering that it defies description for most of us manage to capture the wonder and awe felt by every person who views the Grand Canyon with their own eyes.
Having recently paddled 226 miles of the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon, it was a pleasure to read this collection of short narratives by women who also made that journey. The women who were invited to contribute were all accomplished writers, so the writing is excellent. If you've made this trip, the book will remind you of the joys of the canyon. If you haven't made the trip, it may inspire you to do so.
A great collection of essays by 15 women about their trips down the Grand Canyon. And even if I weren't one of the women, I'd say it was a great collection!
