As the assistant baseball coach, I’m supposed to keep my hands off the players. But Rafael Rivera, the ace pitcher for the Rangers, makes that awfully tough. Half Puerto Rican and half Italian, his smile reminds me of orange groves and sweet red wine. And when he shows up outside my hotel room one night? Let’s just say our workout can’t be found in any baseball program.
But Rafael has two teammates who want to share me during the season. There’s Darryl Bryant, the tattooed bad-boy who leads the team in home runs. He has an air of strength that makes me quiver with excitement, and I wonder if his rough exterior translates to roughness in the bedroom... Then there’s Joel Rogers, the blond-haired, blue-eyed relief pitcher. A goofy boy-next-door with a smile that melts my heart. After I fix his pitching motion he insists on rewarding me with an extra special workout--one which makes my toes curl.
We’re racing toward the playoffs while practicing our positions. Getting sweaty together on--and off--the field. Is this just a regular season fling with three scorching-hot professional athletes? Or will our love affair continue into extra innings?
TRIPLE PLAY is a sizzling reverse harem love story filled with humor, action, and baseball-related excitement. HEA guaranteed!
Cassie Cole is a romance author living in Norfolk, Virginia. A polygamist/polyamorist at heart, she thinks Romance is best when served in threes, fours, and fives!
One thing I can surely say after finishing this is that I know a lot more about baseball now. I don’t go for reverse harem often. I picked this up thinking it was going to be pure smut which i was in the mood for, but it turned out to be better. You could tell that the author loves this sport or that she has done the research very well. The writing was good.
We meet Natalie who gets a job to be assistant pitching coach to the team which is her dream job. She is instantly attracted to the three players Rafa, Joel and Darryl. I liked the fact that each of these players were different in personality and at different stages in the team as well. Darryl was the most dominant and intense and also the star player, then there was Rafa who was really caring and protective, last but not least there’s Joel who was funny and a little shy. Three of them like to share a woman during the game season.
Having sex with Joel was incredible by itself. He was chiseled with muscle, and his cock was thick and filled my inner walls in all the right ways. And he was an incredible kisser. But doing it while another man, another lover of mine, watched from the corner? It heightened everything and made it so much more erotic. So much dirtier, in a good way.
The difficult part to reverse harem is making sure the heroine has chemistry with every partner. I liked her interaction and connection with all three but I saw most spark with Rafa cause he was the only one she spent alone time with. The sex scenes were definitely filthy and hot.
My issues were that the author didn’t spent enough time building their relationship or chemistry outside the bed. Her focus seemed too much on the sports aspect, it was entertaining in the beginning but then I started to skip it. She didn’t leave any details when it came to the nuances of the sport. What I want from a romance read is well...ROMANCE. I did not get that. Also there was no mention of personal things about Darryl and Joel. I think the only reason I kept reading was hoping at some point she’ll mention all these things but it never happened.
Overall it was a okay read. It had some drama too which kept me entertained. It could have been done better in my opinion. I think people who like getting detailed information about sports will likely enjoy it more. Unfortunately I am not one of those people. My 3 star rating is for her efforts she put into writing about baseball.
The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 🩵🖤❤️💜💚 Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔 World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌍 Character development: ☺️😆😉😍🥰
The heroine:Natalie - One month into major league baseball’s spring training and she was hired as the assistant pitching coach. She had played baseball all her life and spent the last ten years as the pitching coach of a high school team and two of her pitchers had been drafted to the major leagues. She has the goods to be a great pitching coach, though coming in to a team in the majors, she is at once seen as just a girl who was hired for her looks.
The Heroes:Rafael, Joel and Darryl - Three players on the Texas Rangers major league baseball team. Rafael - He was rookie of the year last year and is the star pitcher. He is half latino and half Italian in line to win the Cy young award this year, if he can get control of his pitches. Joel - a blond, blue-eyed, muscular god of a man. During spring training, he is doing his best to get the last relief pitching spot on the roster. Darryl - the star first baseman, who led the league in home runs last season. He is a wealthy tattooed bad boy.
The Story: Not only does Natalie have to overcome a bunch of prejudices against women and baseball, but many on the team think she got the job because of her looks or the assumption that she maybe slept with someone to get there, or that her Dad, a former scout, got her the job. Rafael, Joel and Darryl are all longtime good friends and from the time Natalie arrives on the scene. They have already decided to find a woman they can share for the season, like they had done in the past when they played together in the minor leagues.
I have read quite a few of Cassie Cole’s reverse harem romances in the past and the one thing you can really tell about her books is that she puts in the time and does her research on whatever subject she is writing on. She has the lingo down and in this case the baseball knowledge that is not just general knowledge but extremely specific to pitching. I love that the specifics like that aren’t just glossed over. It draws the reader into the story so much better. This is what a sports romance is supposed to be. I don’t even really like baseball, but the games were exciting.
I ended up liking this one much more than I thought I would when I first picked it up. The guys all had perfect personalities that really fit each one of them. Rafa was the hot latin lover and ace pitcher, Joel was the happy-go-lucky closer and Darryl was the broody bad boy and power hitter of the team. Natalie was feminine yet she made a great coach and was serious about her job. She knows so much about baseball, though she wasn’t a tomboy or too manly.
Legit, I downloaded this thinking it was going to be a smutty, guilty pleasure read. I also thought that I would probably download a baseball book following this one so I could read something focused on the sport. But no need to, because this book is 110% a sports romance about baseball. Maybe even too much so for my taste.
I felt the story was more focused on the season than their relationship development and conversations.
It was definitely hot and kept me reading. Don't miss the bonus epilogue from the newsletter signup. Loved how it packaged everything up nicely and showed a glimpse farther into the future.
No. Definitely not for me based on the main girl character. Yes, congrats on getting your dream job. Sexist a**es? You can handle it. But when the coach you admire treats you like shit your first day and has you run go get him a specific kind of coffee-and you go get the coffee?!?! F no. And then the first thing you do after that isn't showing how hard a worker you are eliminating the doubt about your worth as a girl, no the first thing you do is fawn over the players.
Well, I now know more about pitching and baseball than I ever wanted to... It wasn't great, but I finished it so it wasn't terrible. I tried it to mix up the hockey romances I've been reading, but I don't really care about baseball, so I'm probably the wrong audience. It was a sports story first, and a relationship story second.
I do love this Ladies books , they always have a great story, Cassie is a very good writer and her books never fail to keep my attention.
I had to google bits of this , mainly because I know nothing about baseball. I don’t mind doing this I’ve done it loads , it makes it more enjoyable.
These three teammates and their coach are made for each other. They have a brilliant relationship and chemistry. It’s a tense and satisfying read and I recommend and of Cassie’s books.
This is a sports romance with a female assistant pitching coach Natalie, who starts her first day by being talked down to by her new boss. While he downplays her experience she catches an issue with their ace pitcher Rafael. When she points it out she is ignored, when she mentions it to the pitcher he denies it but when she given him evidence he goes to apologize and then immediately they go at it. On her first day!
There is also a detail he didn't share, he shares women with his two other teammates, Darryl and Joel. She is shocked when she isn't turned off by it, though it does take a little time for her to decide to try.
While they are struggling to make their team a winning team, Natalie becomes a big part of their success, and even gets a promotion when they fire the pitching coach.
This is very baseball heavy, with lots of specifics being shared almost overly so. Also some unrealistic details about her career, her promotion, and how nobody finds out about them till so far in and even then it is sweeped under the rug. It was very steamy and I did like their chemistry and the spice was good.
Ok, ok, if you wanted a quick dirty read this isn't it. There IS an actual plot revolving around baseball and the love of baseball for the heroine. There are steamy scenes that are pretty hot. I am not usually into books involving menage themes but accepted the ARC so figured why not? It was pretty good!!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
If you can get past the eye rolling and cringe worthy parts. She's young and a female whose become the assistant pitching coach for the Texas Rangers, has sex with the star pitcher on her first day after being discriminated against, then next day wonders if she should keep it professional?! The whole story lacked chemistry between all involved. They are saying I love you's, yet don't share a room as she's staying in a guest room. The story itself was fine and I made it to the end, but there were several palm to forehead moments and eyes rolls that gave me a headache.
DNF. F MC was childish and immature. She had no qualifications for the major leagues. Spring training is not in DFW for the Rangers. The players were Jack holes. Rafael offers a half apology, someone she just met, and she kisses him. He sent NO signals. None. Juvenile editions with unrealistic scenarios. I read a sports RH from this author, Hail Mary, that I loved. I was really hoping for another great sports romance here, but not the case.

It's rare for me to give up beyond the halfway point. In fact it's rare for me to give up at all. Maybe if I were a baseball fan I'd enjoy this more, but as of now I'm just bored. I feel like character development and relationship development are both lacking. When the Littles book I'm reading at the same time has a better plot that's pretty telling.
Additionally, to be having unprotected sex with three men and zero discussion regarding birth control and/or STDs is just stupid.
Also mir wars zu viel.
I'm so tired of the typical rude male attitude what if my dad happened to be the one to recommend me after all he'd know what I'm capable of providing this team. Wow I'm not even being allowed access to any of the players and now I'm being told to seat and stay like a dog and after the game and wouldn't let me say one word before he sent me on my way. And of course my dad tried to raise my spirits. Seriously just because I'm a woman doesn't mean I don't understand how this sport works and I know what I saw during the game. Maybe I could have been a little nicer but really to call me out in front of some of the guys. I really had meant to apologize however I do need to work on my sexier techniques so who better to advise me. There are moments where you truly wish a character would act in a specific way like strangling and old fart who can't see past the fact he has a... And that she doesn't. Who said second innings can't be fun I'm more then really to throw out the first pitch. Okay I really didn't see that one coming and I'm a little perplexed as to how to wrap my head around the whole sharing thing. Its difficult to try and work with someone who won't even give an inch and is totally irrational and belligerent. Growing up most kids are taught its nice to share with friends and now as an adult I can really appreciate that trait. It was probably inevitable that Darryl would finally demand his own share and he left little doubt just who's in charge. Some days are more painful then others especially when you get hit by an unexpected foul ball. Now that we can finally see the end in sight this is the absolute worse feeling in the universe I'm truly damn if I do and more importantly damned if I don't.

I can honestly say before I write this review that this one of the best books I have read in quite some time. It's one of those stories that I just didn't want to put down. I pulled an all-nighter to finish it. It was well written and thought out. The characters had depth and the plot was interesting. Cassie took us on a journey and showed that women can do anything that a man can do and sometimes she can do it better.
Triple Play is the story of 3 professional baseball players and their female pitching coach. The story takes place around the Texas Rangers. Natalie is a small town pitching coach who has the opportunity to take her talents to the big leagues. She has worked with pitchers in a small town in Texas just minutes away from the Texas Rangers stadium. She gets her talents from her father who was a former scout for the LA Dodgers. Once she begins her journey, she must earn the respect of the team and staff, especially the head pitching coach. The question is does she know the job better than a coach that has been around for decades? Why yes, yes she does.
A story like this wouldn't be a story without some romance though. She comes face to face with 3 of her favorite players. She knows their stats and has studied ways she can help them improve their game. After spending time with these 3 men, their professional lives turn personal. They find they have more in common than the game and fall in love along the way.
This storyline is every female baseball fans' dream come true. Their journey from training camp to the end of the baseball season is one that any baseball fan would want to read. I highly recommend this book to all readers.
I read this book as an ARC for an honest review.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. Cassie takes us into a story of a young woman trying to prove herself in a male dominated sport. Natalie has always been an athlete with a father who taught her the love of baseball. She of confident, thorough and very competent in what she does. When she is hired as the assistant pitching coach of the Texas Rangers, she runs headfirst into old school thinking. This is a ground breaking dream job for her. Natalie works hard to become a part of the team. Rafa, Daryll and Joel are not only teammates but best buds. They do everything together, including liking the same women. Rafa, the star of the team, is the first to understand her potential as a coach. Joel is another pitcher that struggles and she finds a way to help him. Daryll is convinced of what she knows of baseball after giving her the cold shoulder several times. Not only does Natalie have to struggle with proving herself, she has to do it while sparks are flying between her and these three men. This story is so well written that even people who aren't interested in baseball will be engrossed the Ranger's season. The chemistry between all four of them is off the charts. You will not want to miss all the steamy antics they get up to. This book had great characters and a storyline that kept me engrossed, and I am a football fanatic. Natalie is set to surpass all her goals and some she never dreamed of. Each of the guys is amazing in his own way. They each have their own compelling personality. The three men together are just drool worthy. Cassie just keeps getting better as an author.

My, oh my!!! Cassie Cole has KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK! This is a contemporary, reverse harem romance. This story is bursting with fast-paced fun, laugh out loud moments, baseball, and steamy hot smexy scenes. The romance is a fast-burn with one guy, but medium to slow with the other two. My hubby loves baseball, so it's like all the years of living in baseball land has prepared me for this book. You don't need to know anything about baseball to enjoy the story.
I love it that Natalie, the main character, is a coach. Not only does this story present an amazing polyamorous relationship, but it also addresses our culture's sexist ideas and double standards. It's awesome to see her navigating hostile waters, being underestimated, and kicking some baseball players' butts. She also has a punny sense of humor. There are so many hilarious baseball jokes! The only thing I didn't like about her was a scene when she acted crazy and almost self-sabotaged her career.
I adore the guys, too. Rafael is a pitcher who acts on his attraction to Natalie quickly, although his reaction to her pointing out a flaw in his form wasn't his best moment. Joel is the adorable pitcher who Natalie helps to become an awesome closer. I really like how he was the voice of reason when Natalie acted irrationally. Darryl is a batter who takes a while to warm up, but once he does, the heat is volcanic.
A few of my favorite things: All three guys have names ending with "L," Coach Shultz getting fired (I despise him), "fish food," Joel's theme song, the World Series climax, a cameo of Fernando from Full Contact, also by Cassie Cole, and the descriptions of stadiums. I wish there had been more about Seattle's stadium.
Natalie Betts has been employed as the assistant batting coach for the Texas Rangers. She finds the head coach doesn’t take her seriously or the team players until she points out the errors that one of the team pitchers keeps making. Rafael is a star in the making, he was the rookie of the year the season before and Natalie can see the potential in him if she can only get him to pitch better. She also chooses to work with Joel who is Rafa’s best friend and guides him to play a better game. They are rounded off by Darryl the star batter in the game.
All three men live together in Darryl’s mansion, they share everything and have since college. Rafa meets up with Natalie in her hotel room one night after a game to discuss his game plan and things develop into a hot night, where Rafa discusses their relationship and wants to see if Nat is interested. Things move forward from there, trust is earned and passions rise. Then there is talk of trade offs and their star pitcher is up in the running. Natalie becomes the full time interim pitcher coach when the veteran coach is fired.
Joel is traded out when he insults the owner of the team and they start the playoffs for the World Series game. Joel has been traded off to the Dodgers team and they all play in the finals. The Texas Rangers wins the World Series and contracts are tossed around and negotiating begins. They are all reunited again and live happily ever after.

Look, if this book was focused less on baseball and more on the relationship side, this book would've easily gotten 3 stars from me, but clearly the author loves baseball and does not know how to temper that love. This book is 90% baseball - and not in a dramatic fun way that adds to the plot, but in a play by play match after match chapter after chapter, 9% spice and 1% any kind of plot that's not baseball.
Now that the baseball is out of the way - FINALLY, let's discuss what little else there is to discuss about this book. The FMC gets the job of her dreams and she is worried about the sexism in sports, of course, and of others thinking she wants to be a coach assistant just to sleep with the hot players. Look, I get it, she cares about the sports, but the first thing she does is sleep with one of the hot players - no judgement there, who wouldn't (Rafa was my favourite MMC too) but the way they went from discussing his pitching techniques to sex was sudden - she basically kissed him with no sign from him. It was weird and for a second I was sure I skipped some pages! If only the author spent more energy on the relationships in this book instead of the baseball, am I right?
Ugh, I was so let down by this book. There wasn't even that much spice and you would imagine that there would be since we have 3 MMCs, but no... half of the times these dudes were too tired or too worried about their athletic careers to be in the mood to do anything. And in the few scenes we actually got some spice it was written so coldly and quick. Definitely not fun.
Natalie is hired on as the assistant pitching coach for a major league baseball team. Raphael and Joel are pitchers. Darryl plays first base and is a star hitter.
I actually like baseball, so this was much more my speed. The many baseball details and the suspense in the game descriptions were terrific. It was a great story about baseball as well as a romance. The sex scenes were hot, and there was a good amount of humor in this.
The only thing I didn’t like was how quickly Natalie fell into bed with Raphael. This happens early on, so it’s not a spoiler. It felt like a cheesy porno set up like the hot guy delivering a pizza and suddenly they are having sex. I wasn’t a fan. I definitely wanted more chemistry in their interactions and getting to know one another before they had sex. But the novel got much better from there!
There is a cute little bonus epilogue chapter online set 15 years later.
SAFE – no cheating, Other People drama, love triangles, or non or dubious consent. Graphic sex scenes both one-on-one and group. No touching between the men. Occasional foul language.
1st person past tense from Natalie and all three guys. There are some unnecessary dialogue tags, but not so many as to detract from the pacing. Alright is not a word, it’s all right. Mom/Dad should be capitalized like a proper name. Aside from that, I only found 8 errors, so this is very well edited.
It’s Natalie’s first day as an Assistant Pitching coach for the Rangers. It’s her home team so it’s a dream come true, but the coach is less than impressed to have a woman onboard. But Natalie knows her job as well as she knows her baseball. She starts by quickly realising why one of their best pitchers didn’t play well in his first game. But is met with skepticism from coach and players alike. But whenever the players will listen the coach will fume. As the spring training continues, the players begin to respect her and her chemistry with Rafael gets more intense. But he explains that he’s always shared with his teammates and best friends, Darryl and Joel. Whereas Joel, another pitcher has already started to feel an attraction towards her, Darryl doesn’t want to know. Soon she’s involved with both of them, living her dream, excelling at her job but still butting heads with Darryl. Until one night she insists that he work with her and afterwards things get hot and heavy. This is another excellent, entertaining RH story, where all of the characters have great personalities that compliment each other. The baseball teams series is interesting to follow and overall the plot never disappoints. A thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining read.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Natalie Betts, Rafael "Rafa" Rivera, Darryl Bryant, & Joel Rogers. When this book opens we find that Natalie is the new assistant pitching coach for the Texas Rangers. Though she can't hardly believe she is here she is determined to give it all she has. See Natalie has been around baseball all her life including playing and is looking for the chance to prove to this pro team she has what she promises though it isn't easy. Rafa, Darryl, and Joel they work hard all season long and so they have kinda come up with a system that seems to work for them. That is until Rafa is the first to meet Natalie. There is something about her that he knows he and the guys will want more of and if he can get them on board great if not he just has to remember she is a coach on his team so he has to be careful. Will they find a HEA or will the fact that anything can happen in sports make that something that is just a dream?
This is another amazing story by this author. It does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you about, trust me there is so much I want to tell you. However I don't want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
Rafael, Darryl, and Joel are Texas Rangers baseball players and good friends. Natalie has chosen a difficult career path going against an established men-only kind of job, but she has been raised around baseball and learned first-hand how to be a pitching coach from her father. But it won’t come easy to her. She will have to prove herself to be professional and even better than a guy in that position would be. Her chance comes with Rafael, Darryl and Joel, as she finds a way to help Joel with his pitching issues. Her guys see her potential, work with her, and begin to fall in love. Her knowledge and love of baseball, her competence and commitment, are easy to see. Will it be enough to change the minds of the team? Can they accept her for her talent and all she can bring to the Rangers?
This was a really good story that I didn’t expect to like so much. (Not a sports fan, unfortunately.) It was fun and I was so proud of Natalie showing all the best she could offer them if they only gave her the chance to show what she can “bring to the plate”. (No booing, I wanted to stick with the theme!) Seriously, you’ll really enjoy this one. Grab your copy and cheer for the team!
Triple Play was a full length story that was really enjoyable. Nothing was over the top or unrealistic and as someone who is not a fan of baseball, I might just start watching it because sounds fun just from reading this book. Hadn’t realized how much goes into a baseball team.
I loved how quickly Natalie and Rafael hit it off. They are perfect from jump. And despite not getting the extended ending i am guessing Rafa is going to be the one who Proposes. I’m kind surprised through all this that Natalie didn’t end up pregnant. I they weren’t using protection. There were no questions or even mention of it.
I liked Joel he was definitely the goofier one of the bunch. Also more loyal. I liked how he was able to get onboard with Dodgers regardless of his personal feelings. He went hard fir them and put his best foot forward. And even set Natalie straight when she was tripping.
Darryl is Darryl. He seemed to want to keep Natalie at a distance at first. I think it was because he saw the potential for to become something more than just a hook up. She was perfect for all of them and loved baseball. She was more than just a pretty face. And that really mattered. Once he finally lets her in, their foursome become something amazing.
Cassie Cole does one thing absolutely amazing; writing smut. This is the third or fourth book I've read by her and she never fails to disappoint with her smuttiness. It's always on point.
This time, I really enjoyed it being not just about the smut but actually having a bit more to do with baseball as a sport. I actually learned a lot about the sport that I didn't know and it actually peaked my interest to watch more games. Maybe it's for the baseball pants but we are going to call it curiosity about the sport itself.
The only thing I can complain about is how quickly everything seemed to happen. Natalie had just met Rafa just hours before and all of a sudden they are fucking in her hotel room after she just pissed him off telling him he was tipping his pitches? Umm no. I think not. I felt if there had been a bit more lead up, I might have enjoyed the book more and gave it that five star review. Overall, I did really enjoy the book but that would be the only thing I would change. I would also like to know how it went when the world found out about them. As the book's bonus chapter jumped fifteen years into the future and everyone was happy go lucky. I wish there was just a little bit more story in that particular part.

Out to prove herself and ends up hitting it out of the park for the championship
*** 4 1/2 Stars ***
Triple Play is a fun sports RH romance book. So if you love baseball and were missing going to the field then you can read about Natalie who bleeds baseball. She is the new assistant pitching coach for the Texas Rangers. This is a male team with all the sexy, build, handsome and cocky attitudes that you can handle. But she is out to prove herself just as she always has in the "old school" thinking of baseball. On the team Rafa, Daryll and Joel are best friends and do everything together, including the same woman. Each takes an interest in her and soon she is part of their lives in all ways. This is a wonderful summertime read. Just be warned that there is a lot of baseball and team related things so if you are not familiar with or like baseball then you may find the book a bit much. But if you want some additional hotness then Triple Play is a Grand Slam is the light your Kindle of fire championship.
I received a copy of this book for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Natalie is finally happy she has the job she's been dreaming of now she just has to keep her hands off the players. She immediately is drawn to three players and it makes it hard for her to concentrate on doing her job. Joel, Darryl and Rafa are all interested in Natalie. Natalie doesn't like how things are going at work because she isn't being treated like an equal and the main coach is basically using her for crap work. But her father taught her to go after what she wants so she's going to fight to get to do what she loves. When she gives into her attraction with the guys its after they see that there's more to her than they originally thought. Will her being with them cost her the job she's been wanting? Can they have something serious together?
This is a steamy story that will hook you from the first chapter and leave you wanting more with the last one. The chemistry between them is scorching hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Natalie is hired as the assistant pitching coach of the Texas Rangers. She’s not taken seriously at first because she’s a woman.
Rafael is the team’s young ace pitcher, Joel is a pitcher struggling to stay on the team and Darryl is the home run hitting first baseman.
The three guys have been close friends for years and are teammates. Natalie finds herself attracted to Rafael and acts omit quickly. He tells her that the three of them are looking for a girl to share for the season.
She gets to know Joel and Darryl better and likes them too. They develop a relationship that works for them.
Loved seeing Natalie’s form of coaching help the team. I love baseball and was happy there was so much of it in this book.
One thing I have noticed in reading so many of the author’s books is that birth control is never mentioned. I know sometimes it’s hard to slip it in, but this one dealt with three professional athletes who obviously would be less trusting. 🤷🏻♀️
Also, I’m glad Natalie’s relationship with them wasn’t found out, but she could’ve have been a little more concerned.
