Stolen Hart

With one look, he blew down every wall I built.

Barista Aaron Fisher has no time for shame, propriety, or boyfriends. He’s tired of being used—by his family, hookups, and even a would-be blackmailer. A year after his last heartbreak, Aaron’s ready to give love another chance. He swoops in to rescue a gentle, bashful hunky customer from the depths of app-swiping hell. Their ideas of hot dates couldn’t be further apart… but making Quinn blush is Aaron’s new favorite hobby.

After a string of failed first dates, personal trainer and hopeless romantic Quinn Powell is ready to give up on love before Aaron suggests a deal. Before December ends, can Aaron prove that great sex is all you need, or will Quinn show him that happily ever after does exist? Dating inappropriate, sassy Aaron is like sticking dynamite into Quinn’s tidy life. He finds himself remembering desires that have gone unsatisfied for years.

Before long they’re breaking the only rule: don’t hide their real feelings just to win the bet. Quinn’s afraid of scaring off the secretly vulnerable twink, while Aaron’s afraid of going tame if he gives his heart to the only man strong enough to see through his defenses. This is a lot more than a fling and a few fancy dates. But as their time runs out, they must find the strength to admit to their fears.

Both men need rescuing—but can they believe in themselves and each other when it matters most?

Stolen Hart is the fourth book in the new Hart’s Bay series about a small town full of nosy but well-meaning neighbors and brotherly banter. It can be read on its own, and promises a happily-ever-after ending with plenty of smiles and steam along the way. And at least one naughty thing that shouldn’t happen in a coffee shop.

This was a really sweet, fairly low angst, small town romance and I loved most of it.

However, it had my most hated poxy plot point as the big tension builder - failure to communicate.

It drives me nuts, even when it's given a good padding of extra reasons for why it happened, as Ed does in this story.

So, it's me not the book, I just get so frustrated when I can see the internal wrangling of feelings which would be sorted out through a simple conversation.

Having said the above, everything else in this latest Hart's Bay entry worked. I love the found family, the small town vibes and the strong bonds of friendship.

#ARC kindly received from the author in return for an honest and unbiased review.

I really wanted to like this audiobook version of Stolen Hart (Hart’s Bay #4) by E. Davies and narrated by Greg Boudreaux. Unfortunately it just didn’t work for me.

I did like both main characters, Aaron Fisher a Hart’s Bay barista who had been used by many men in the past including a would-be blackmailer, and Quinn Powell, a hopelessly romantic personal trainer and a customer at Aaron’s coffee shop.

Greg Boudreaux’s narration was fine. The issue was the story he’d been given to read. At least for my taste there was far too much mutual and self doubt combined with constant miscommunication and mixed messaging.

Stolen Hart would have made a perfectly sweet novella, but there simply isn’t enough substance here to sustain 7½ hours of listening time.

This book is sooo good. I loved Aaron, such a funny and special guy and needed a guy that understand his baggage, so here's Quinn. I was unable to put it down util it was all done. I can't wait to see what Ed comes up with next in this series.

I received an arc (thank you) for an honest review

Stolen Hearts
is the 4th book in E. Davies' Hart's Bay series. This fantastic group of friends in Hart's Bay has begun to feel like family and it makes my heart happy to see each one find their perfect match. I recently binge read the other books in the series, and I was more than ready for Aaron to find his happy.

Aaron Fisher is loud, fun and always reading with a joke usually laden with sexual innuendo. He is known for his humor and promiscuity, but he is sick of being used by his family and past lovers. Quinn is the opposite in the romance department. He dates in hopes of a future but seems to be having trouble finding his match. With the new year closing in he's about to give up hope when Aaron comes to his rescue. They decide to spend now until new years giving each other what they want. For Aaron that's mind-blowing sex and for Quinn that's dinners out and cuddling on the couch. Aaron hopes to convince Quinn that no strings attached is the way to go while Quinn hopes to convince Aaron that maybe love and happily ever afters do exist.

"It's never too early for a sex joke."

Aaron has been one of my favorites since the beginning of this series and it was great to see behind the walls he built with his sarcasm and wit. It hurt that he felt he could never be anyone's forever guy. I adored Quinn he was such a romantic and the way he tried to show Aaron his worth was sweet, he never gave up on Aaron even when he was being stubborn. Their story was adorable. I loved seeing them push each other out of their comfort zones. I also have to mention their intimacy scenes because Oh Wow they were wonderful My biggest complaint was that I wish this didn't have the classic miscommunication aspect to it towards the end but I guess it was inevitable. Aaron was his own worst enemy and couldn't see what was right in front of him.

"a deep, lingering kiss that spoke of the pull between them, irresistible as the earth's tides themselves. In Aaron's eyes, he saw everything he could ever need."

Stolen Hearts
was a great addition to the Hart's Bay series and I'm eager to find out whose book will be next!

Sassy, sexy and sweet!!!

I have really loved getting to know all the guys in Hart’s Bay and was excited to finally read Aaron!

Aaron is a sassy twink who owns a coffee shop and longs for the sexy blond giant who comes into his shop on random dates that never seem to work out. Aaron is loud and flirty and everything out of his mouth is a sex innuendo. Quinn is quiet and reserved and seems the opposite of Aaron but he can’t resist him.

I love the bet they make about whether random, frequent sex is better or a romance & relationship is. They agree to this bet for 3 weeks and of course over those weeks, secrets are revealed, problems arise, families are involved and love wins out!!!

I could tell that part of Aaron’s character was just a cover for hiding under and knowing the hurts from his ex and family really just made me want to protect him like Quinn wanted to. It felt almost like insta-love on Quinn’s side and it was sweet and perfect!!

E Davies' Stolen Hart, the fourth book in the Hart's Bay series, is a wonderful small town romance!

Quinn and Aaron are two men who decide to date for a month. One's looking for love; the other doesn't believe it exists. They have one month to test things out.

Hart's Bay is once again the quintessential small town, with all the small town feel one could ask for. The family and town connections we all know exist in these towns is well represented. Both the good and the bad.

My favorite quote is "One little ripple can make big changes."
Such an important thing to remember!

Ed's writing is smooth as usual, with some tender characters and a riveting story line. I always enjoy the way he weaves a story; the words he uses, the character growth, and the heartfelt romance. And oh my, he crafts amazing backstories.

Stolen Hart is a sweet, feel-good romance. E Davies will not disappoint you with this riveting and tender tale.

I love the Hart’s Bay series. Aaron and Quinn are an awesome addition to the stories. They are both such love-able characters.
Reading about Aaron’s backstory just broke my heart. He’s so afraid he’s not worthy of love, having been disappointed his whole life so far.
Quinn wants love, wants to settle down with his one true love. But he’s been ruled by his parent’s wishes so far. Aaron is nothing like who they expected for Quinn.
I loved reading how these two men come together and eventually give each other what they need in their lives.
Loved catching up with the other guys from the previous stories. There are a couple of surprises from some characters in this story.
I’m already waiting with bated breath for the next story.
E. Davies just has a way with his words, making for a fantastic story. I love everyone of his books that I have read so far.

Once again this author has gifted us with a beautifully written romance that flows perfectly across the pages.
Aaron and Quinn are two complex characters, with loads of chemistry between them, who both have insecurities about their “fling”.
Aaron is a cafe owning barista who is an inappropriate, sassy twink and friend to all. He’s not interested in a relationship with anyone. Quinn is a personal trainer, hopeless romantic and is actively searching for a relationship.
With Quinn, Aaron doesn’t have to change who he is and with Aaron, Quinn learns to be himself.
There is minimal angst, a drop of drama, humour from the inappropriate Aaron and a fair amount of heat. This is a really enjoyable romance that left me smiling and eagerly awaiting more in the series.
All the characters from the previous books feature but this can be read as a standalone.
I highly recommend this book and feel that reading the previous books in the series would enhance your reading experience.

My favorite in the Hart’s Bay series...so far!

This can definitely be read as a stand-alone, but don’t miss the other great installments.

I’m not sure how best to describe Aaron and Quinn, other than to say they are absolutely perfect for each other...each dealing with families that don’t appreciate them for the men they are..each needing to be loved and so full of goodness!

Loved this so hard!

Recommended.

Aaron and Quinn are a seriously sweet couple. They are perfect for oneanother from the very start.

Aaron has little to no self esteem after being used by his parents and exs alike..
Quinn is a romantic that falls for Aaron, but in trying to follow Aarons rules, he almost loses him.

So many times throughout this story I want to shake Aaron. But Quinn wins his mans heart the right way.

Stolen Hart by E. Davies is the fourth book in the Hart's Bay series. Well written, fun story with just the right mix of drama/angst, sweetness and steam. Quinn and Aaron are great characters and I love how they evolved together from just a bit of fun to realizing the potentionfor much more. A truly enjoyable read.

Loved it.
There was a point 3/4 of the way through when I just wanted them to talk, but I understand the reasons why both were reluctant and thankfully the situation didn't drag on.
I've loved sassy slutty Aaron from the start of the series. And Quinn was an absolute sweety.
This is one of my favourite non-UK based small town series.

Great story

This was a nice story.

I quite enjoyed this opposites attract tale.

Aaron and Quinn are quite different, but deep down, they want the same things.
I loved the ups and downs of their relationship.

Sweet, with hot moments and a sprinkle of drama, makes for a great read

I am so keen to read anything E. Davies publishes - and I have been waiting for Aaron's story since his first sassy comment. A sweet romance for the king of sass, but with personal hang-ups, it is a rocky road for them both to travel. Ultimately cute read but I want more!

Another win for Ed Davies! I'm so in love with this series and the fabulous town of Hart's Bay! As usual, Ed's writing has the reader falling in love with the MCs immediately. The story flows easily, and I didn't want to put the book down. I can't wait for the next one!

Aaron is a live life out loud sweetheart who owns his own coffeeshop. Quinn is the hot personal trainer who's been in his shop a lot lately, all on dates that never seem to reach the 2nd time around phase. It's when Aaron offers to help him find a good date that Quinn finally sees the sweet barista who's been serving him for so long. Will Aaron allow things to go from flirty casual to more, though?

At first I really wasn't sure of where this story was headed because Aaron was so very resistant to anything resembling commitment. I could tell it wasn't because he was cold hearted or even a player, but because he had some scars from his past, but he was just so stubborn and wouldn't communicate! Argh!!! But finally, finally, Quinn got through to him and he (and I) were rewarded with some happiness. I ended up really liking this pair of opposites together and can just see the buffed up quiet guy enjoying some coffee with his favorite sassy barista.

Another amazing love story from E. Davies.

Aaron and Quinn's story was a great read. I really enjoyed how there seemed to be an element of insta-love that was shrouded in complete denial, wrapped in angst, and covered in doubt. Yet, through all of that, these two manage to find a way to their HEA - and what a sweet HEA it is.

What I loved:

Quinn's commitment to what he wants, Aaron and a future. He's sweet under his muscly exterior, like a giant teddy bear (my favorite).

Aaron's humor and quick wit. He has an answer for everything, even if it's a mask to keep his heart safe.

Friends - there are so many, each with an important part in the story and they are fun to read during interactions with the main characters.

What I didn't love:

Although this is a stand-alone book for the main couple, if you don't read the series from book one, you may not understand some of the plot elements. Not necessarily a bad thing, but if you are choosing this one as your first read, you may struggle with some of the character interactions.

All in all, a solid four-star read.

And as always from my reviews, my top quotes of the book:

"Hearing him say his name did weird things to his heart.":

"He was already a giant thorny mess of bouncy laughter, deep wounds, inappropriate innuendo, and zero shame. And Quinn was irresistibly drawn to this, even though it was like standing still and waiting for a tornado to rip through his carefully arranged living room."

"Ew, average... Best for weather forecasts, not men. In any department."

I have been a huge fan of this series in both written and audiobook form since the first book and this one is just as good as all the others. Aaron and Quinn are such great characters and I love the bet they make and how it plays out. The author has always done an excellent job of blending hot, hot scenes with a crime such as that of the arsonist in the first couple of books and the blackmailer here. The crime plot and the romance are not separate issues where one is simply tacked on but each follows naturally from the personality and the life of the characters. The author also seems to have a soft spot for white knights who rescue people from bad dates and I am also a fan of that particular trope. It is always a pleasure to revisit Hart's Bay and see how old friends are getting along and how the town continues to develop and bounce back from the dying state it was in in the first book. Hart's Bay itself has become a beloved character for me and I am glad to see it is doing well. The angst level in these books is on the low end of the scale and I appreciate that when I am in the mood for a few bumps in the road to happy ever after but not wanting long lasting, dark heartbreak. The main characters are always decent men who don't take too long to recognize they need to act like adults, talk things out and get on with being together. Now, we just need that audiobook narrated by Greg Boudreaux to go with all the others in the series!

I've really loved this series, and E. Davies definitely delivers another hit with this book. I love Hart's Bay and this group of characters and Aaron and Quinn's relationship is a wonderful addition. Their story is sweet and sexy and I loved falling for these two.

Aaron and Quinn are two very different people, looking for different things, but their great connection and chemistry keeps drawing them together. Aaron is looking for a good time, he's sassy and fun and flirty and not looking for any kind of real relationship. Quinn on the other hand, is looking for the real thing, he's ready to settle down. Their attraction is real, so they make a bet, what is better, love or sex and then they give it a few weeks to test it.

I loved their journey, these two are just so perfect for each other, even when they are trying to follow rules and stay within the bet. Yes, they both have their issues, Aaron dealing with the hurt caused by his ex and his parents, making him feel unworthy and Quinn trying to live up to expectations, but it's how they come together to really be what the other needs that is so touching. The love between them is so real, despite it all starting as a bet. These two are hot, passionate and above all so very loving. I really loved the humor and sass, this book made me smile and made my heart oh so happy! I truly love Hart's Bay!

i read this book as part of an arc program. This the story of barista Aaron and personal trainer Quinn. aaron has been watching Quinn when he is in his cafe on various dates and he doesn't seem to be having any luck finding love. Quinn is a hopeless romantic and believes in true love, but he isn't finding anyone he connects with. Aaron is attracted to Quinn and when he finally gets the nerve to flirt with him, he finds Quinn is interested in him as well. Aaron doesn't believe in dating or relationships, he only has casual hook ups and when he talks to Quinn, they both realize they are opposite in their love life, but want to convince the other their way is better. So they agree to a fling until New Year's Eve to change the other's mind. Quinn really likes Aaron and wants to be with him, but he is scared of scaring him off and Aaron doesn't think he is worthy of love. This was a good story i really enjoyed. I love how romantic Quinn was and how he was so sure of his feelings for Aaron, regardless of how anyone else thought of him. Aaron was funny and i love how loyal his friends were. Great one.

Good story: 🔥romps and 💕romance to survive the 🎁 holidays, but what about after?!

3.5-4🌟stars
The way Aaron and Quinn danced around each other in the ☕Howya Bean (great coffee house name!) until they finally started talking was a great start for this story.

I am fond of small-town settings and this town on the Oregon coast had the requisite small community rumor mill grapevine and local personalities to add to its charm. The guys were both likable, especially when contrasted with bully Byron. Aaron's troubled experience with his parents and his rocky relationship history made him a sympathetic character who was understandably reluctant to lay himself open to more rejection or betrayal. Quinn is just an all-around nice guy and fitness devotee who still feels some insecurity about pudge he carried as a teen. The things they bring out in each other!🙈

I did not read the earlier books in the series and that did not detract from the reading experience. I did find it a trifle slow in spots, but it's a good story.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

In this latest installment from Hart’s Bay we finally get Aaron’s story. Aaron lives with his artist friends, some of whom are now happily coupled off, but runs his own coffee shop in town. While seemingly sassy and outgoing on the outside he is a bit of an insecure mess on the inside, d/t life’s curveballs, and overcompensates with random hookups on Grindr. He has a crush on the hot fitness trainer who has been striking out on the dates he has set up in the coffee shop. He finally gets the courage to approach Quinn after his latest date stands him up. And this leads to a challenge with an end date of NYE, whereby they agree that the only thing they promise is to have plenty of sexy times and not falsely declare any feelings (ie: no I Love You’s). But what happens when they become too scared to communicate their real feelings for each other for fear of getting a broken heart? And will a stalker finally push them towards what they already know to be true? Watch as the latest couple from Hart‘s Bay finds their HEA, but not without a few stumbles along the way. I can’t wait to see who gets their HEA next 😍.

Touching story of learning to love, trust and be yourself!  It has all the best feels.  I really enjoyed these MC's and how really sweet and honest their hearts were.  Both men found their missing pieces when they allowed themselves to be them with each other. The writing was beautiful and the story-line made me feel.  This story will touch your heart.

I loved that we got to see the previous characters we have grown to love and that they continue to be the found family we all want.  I so enjoyed my visit to this delightful town.

Aaron and Quinn’s journey was meaningful, steamy and brought out the best of both me.  I was rooting for them for sure.   Learning to trust that you will be chosen and loved is tough and often life is not kind.  This book is a real feel good story with so much love to be found.

This is book four of the Hart Bay series and can be read as a stand-alone.  I do however, recommend reading the other books in the series because they are all really good.  I am looking forward to the next book!

I  was gifted this book from the author and i freely give my honest opinion and review.

Audiobook--BLECH near-insta dnf a bit into chapter 1. Not appealing romance set up for me. I enjoyed MC Aaron as a secondary character in the other books, and I'm glad he's now opened and running his own coffee shop, but, hearing allll about how he's slept with every gay man in town and knows the sexual capabilities of the first date the other MC met in his coffee shop (that MC, Quinn, is there to meet another date) did not a romance-setup make for me. His casual critique of Quinn's first date's lack of BJ skills was...icky and made everything all about sex. Just...not my thing. Too much sexualizing of everyone.

If that kind of talk doesn't bother you though, this is a really adorable small town series featuring a group of friends who moved there together and started an art collective, and it's otherwise really charming and fun! Give it a go. They're all HEA, and no cheating/others on page once MCs meet, far as I can tell (for sure in books 1 and 3, but, 2 and now 4 lost me with all the talk about sex with previous people. Yuck.)

Cheers for narrator Greg Boudreaux though, he's always good !

Stolen Hart is an excellent continuation of the Hart’s Bay series.
Quinn and Aaron have different and distinct personalities, which, when put together, should not work. But they do. Oh, boy, they do. The give and take in this relationship are quite entertaining to watch and made me wonder how much they would have to change to be able to stay with each other. I was pleasantly surprised by the answer.
Their backstories are enough for me to see what shaped who they are, and how far they had come by the time they got to their HEA. I felt close to both characters early on, but by the end, I was falling a little bit in love with them myself.
I laughed, I cried, I cringed, and I got angry. There are good friends, bad people, a surprising occurrence that is of interest to the whole town, and some super, duper sexy times that fogged my glasses and upped my heart rate.
I enjoyed this book and look forward to more by this author.

I’ve been jumping around with LGBT fiction and authors. I was not familiar with E. Davies but Audible recommended them to me. I decided to download two collections by them and finished them between November and December. I would recommend them as an offer.
Hart’s Bay was a great collection of four novels that revolve around a group of young adults who buy a house in a rundown town. They each plan on running an art collective down town but end up branching off and partnering up with people in the town. They open new businesses and bring the community back together.
E. Davies does a good job at character development and relationship development with each story. They are each unique and do not get repetitive like some collections. Each character has their own flaw and they eventually overcome their issues.
I wish this series was longer as there were more characters that could’ve been developed.

So funny and sweet!
I loved Aaron from the previous books, he's the sassy, slightly inappropriate, unapologetic friend everybody loves. But he's so much more than that.
And when he meets Quinn, who's made orderly sort of his mantra in life, you'd think the two could never gel, instead they get on like a house on fire, bringing out the best out of the other.
Their chemistry and affection in the end beats whatever reserve they might have about not giving their relationship a real chance.
Aaron is so funny and sassy that I was laughing out loud many times during the book, he certainly goes for the shock-factor most of the times; but Quinn can give as good as he gets with his dirty talk and all... after all, it's always the quiet ones...

The small town of Hart's Bay in Oregon is coming back to life more and more with these boys and I can't wait to go back to it with the next HEA!

We are back in Hart´s Bay and I am loving it. The series is developing, the town is coming more back to life, we get some more details about the background story and are even meeting Floyd´s mother.
Aaron and Quinn seem to be opposites. But from the very beginning they both recognize a certain connection. Their "project" soon becomes more than they both bargained for. From their first careful approaches towards each other, to Quinn saving Aaron physically, they are tying their bond, both scared the other one is not able to see what they really have.
"Stolen Hart" is a super sweet love story about new found trust, hope, acceptance and the power of love! It´s a perfect feel good read and it couldn´t have come out at a better time!
