Renegade Hearts

They are the boys your mother always warned you about.
They’re every parent’s worst nightmare.
Arrogant, cocky and self-assured.
They used the town of Sandland like it was their own personal playground. They didn’t follow the rules. They made their own.
Most girls were drawn to them like a moth to a flame, but Emily Winters wasn’t like most girls.
A politician’s daughter.
A good girl with morals and principles.
She represented everything they despised. The only problem was she lived her life in a perfectly orchestrated smokescreen; and where there’s smoke, there’s usually fire.
They wanted to expose her for what she was; a pretty little liar hiding the ugliest truths. But when the truth comes out and lies are exposed, who will be the one to eventually crash and burn?

5 ❤️⚡️❤️⚡️❤️⚡️❤️⚡️❤️💥🔥💥🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟s❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️

I was so not ready for these Renaissance rebel guys!!!!
All four of them were fabulous, each one in his own way, and so much intriguing!

Where there’s smoke, there’s fire!
And this story was smoking hot from every aspect!
The elaborate plot and the lavish story were impeccably orchestrated, creating a provocative setting filled with lies, corruption, secrets, smokes and mirrors, revenge, twists and turns, but above all, love❣️

Ryan and Emily were meant for each other. Their relationship didn’t have the best start but it evolved and blossomed beautifully.
Ryan might have been a bad boy but he was one of the most amazing boyfriends I have come across!! Emily was sassy, strong and ready to start her rebellion against her indifferent parents.

The author created a great story and her writing was fantastic. I was impressed with the characters’ and plot’s layers.

Although I loved all of them and this was Ryan’s story, I have to admit that Brandon holds a special place in my heart! 💔 I really can not wait for his story to be released!

My congratulations Nikki J. Summers!!

Renegade Hearts is book one in the Rebels of Sandland series, there are stand-alone but are interconnected, and I recommend starting with this book first.

This book is outside my normal but within my usual reads. You have angst, bad boy betrayal, and love. I wouldn't call the book dark or a bully romance. There are some dark and bully vibes. Brandon mainly gave off these vibes, and he is a side character. Low on the steam factor, but honestly, I was so hooked on the storyline she suspense it didn't matter.

Emily eighteen years of age daughter of pos parents, her father politician her mother with a fake smile and a doormat. Emily lost her brother several months before. She is dying to get out and live for her and not for the cameras. Ryan was her brother's friend and part of renaissance men in town, and he lives on the other side of town. A total bad boy, and he is the only one who sees Emily for who she is.

The book starts with a rocky start between the two, and as the story unfolds, it’s undeniable about the feelings Ryan has for Emily. Emily is a no-bullshit kind of young woman and says it how it is. The author is excellent at writing verbal sparring. She calls out Ryan for what he wants, and she is willing to help him. The story is a complete rollercoaster. All side characters have a vital part in their roles, even Brandon, who is my best favorite. Still, I feel it's all for show, Effy is a sweetheart, Liv is spicy, Finn is an artist and logical, Zak is a technological genius playboy, and Brandon is the broody boxer with a bad attitude. The ending is a hfn and a great into to Brandon's book.

***4,5 "Our bubble!!!" stars***

"We will not be silenced."

I'm a sucker for this kind of stories, so when I've read the first phrase of the blurb: "They are the boys your mother always warned you about..." I was a goner and I needed to get my hands on this story!!!
And I was right!!! Ryan, Brandon, Zack and Finn had stolen my heart and they proved to me that they were more than the author promised us on the blurb. So much more... And I can not wait to read each one's story!!!!
But let me focus on Ryan Hardy and his Emily!!!

"Those Renaissance boys sure knew how to mess with a girl's head."

Emily was a politician daughter living in glam and wealth, or isn't she???
Tragedy had striken her household recently and she still can't get over something like that...
The biggest thorn on her side was her parents resentment and the way they were acting toward her in the name of publicity and voter's good grace!!!
Emily was unhappy and she was sinking steadily and slowly underwater, until the Renaissance boys got into her life and turned everything upside down...

"I preferred to think of myself as a closet rebel. Doing the right thing in public, but secretly I fantasised about doing something to break free from these stifling chains of duty. I hadn't chosen this life. Why should I conform to the restraints put upon me because of it?"

Ryan was one of the Renaissance boys!!! They had a reason that they were calling themselves like that and they were determined to find out all the ugly truth that Winters is covering up...
And in order to do it, they have to use his daughter as their pawn against him...
Ryan is the one that he has to do it, but Ryan had always a weakness toward Emily.
Will he manage to keep up his hard appearance or will he become a puddle in her feet???

"When no one was watching, I saw her. I mean, really saw her. The girl who hated the restrictions put upon her by her family. The rebel who wanted to break free. The little hellcat that I knew she could be. Nobody had ever intrigued me like she did. Nobody held my attention like Emily Winters, and that's what made her dangerous."

I really loved this story... The author's writing was amazing and i believe that in a way, this story was original...
I loved what the Renaissance boys were representing and I loved each one's part on that!!!
It was in a way a poetic justice what they were offering to the rest of the world, but they were having their own personal problems to face, as well!!!

"My intrigue for these four boys was growing by the day, and yet, the closer I got each time I met them, the more confused I became. It was like trying to hold water in your hands or feel the flicker of the flames. You could see it, feel how it affected you, but you couldn't ever truly understand it, because the minute you thought you had it figured out, it altered, moved, reconfigured, and everything you knew was turned upside down."

I loved Emily and Ryan...
Emily seemed a sheltered clueless girl, but she proved us wrong over and over again.
I loved her fire and how she was in Ryan's present. If he thought that he could manhandle her, he was fooling himself...
As for Ryan??? Yes, the man seemed a little bit cruel and a dick in the beginning, but as we got to know him better, this boy was sooo good and amazing in every aspect. This boy had a heart made of gold and he was so thoughtful and caring toward Emily.
Their pairing was just perfect.

"He'd always be Ryan Hardy; tough guy, Renaissance man and one of the lads. But this boy, right here in my arms, he was my Ryan. Kind, gentle, loving, and all mine."

"Her fire only fanned my flames. Her demons fired up my own. And I realised in that moment, Emily fucking Winters was all I've ever wanted. She was it for me."

This story was really great, but to be totally honest with you, the ending left me a nervous mess.
What the hell happened with Brandon??? How the things got out of hands so quickly???
Yep, Brandon is not my favorite person at the moment, but I can not deny that I'm intrigued by him and I can not wait to see how things will turn out after. I just need him to mend things up with the rest of the guys. Their fall out seems... not right!!!

"From this moment on, Brandon Mathers was no more. A ghost. A forgotten man. I doubted anyone would mourn me. I wouldn't even mourn myself." -Brandon

I am sorry but I could not understand was how a girl like Em who could so thoughtful even to people like chase could choose to be so harsh while rejecting Brandon when she clearly knew about his f*cked up past)

And the plot was too plain and predictable after 50% of the read. It's safe and meh..

I'd cracked open the doors to my stone-cold heart for her and what had she done? She'd ripped the bloody hinges off, ransacked it and then walked away, tossing the proverbial match behind her to set fire to the ruins. Only thing was, she wasn't about to destroy me.
Her fire only fanned my flames.
Her demons fired up my own.
And I realised in that moment, Emily fucking Winters was all I'd ever want.
She was it for me.

Awww, you guys!! Renegade Hearts is my first Nikki J. Summers book and Ryan & Emily's slow-burn romance doesn't disappoint! I love their characteristics and undeniably intense chemistry. Everything feels extremely natural when it comes to those two, and even though they kind of hate each other in the beginning, I'm stoked they sort things out and get their happy ending eventually.

I don't know what came over me, but I reached forward to touch her face, cup her cheek and run my thumb across her bottom lip. She felt so soft, so delicate, and it was killing me how much I wanted to have this girl. Wrap her up, make her mine, and never let go.

If you're looking for an in-depth dark romance with some steamy, swoon-worthy scenes, then this book is for you. I'd recommend Ryan and Emily's love story to everyone as they're such a delight to read about and be friends with.

Lastly, I can't wait to read more of this author's books and please let me know if you've enjoyed any of her books! Happy reading!

RENEGADE HEARTS is different to anything Nikki J Summers has written before and it had me hooked from the very first page. It has an enemies-to-lovers/bully vibe and is full of twists and turns.
Ryan and Emily’s story is of course the man focus, but I am so intrigued by the other Renaissance Men and I can’t wait to read their books.

Renegade Hearts... boy oh boy did this story lure me in, keep me wanting more and leave me desperate for the next part of these boys lives!

This book tells the tale of Ryan and Emily, and it packs one hell of a punch.
A high school bully romance that turns into so much more.

The angst kept me on my toes, the beauty inside of Ryan stole my heart, and the underlying love story has left me with the biggest book hangover.

Nikki J Summers has totally smashed it with this book.
I loved everything about it.
I am a sucker for all the angst and emotion, and Renegade Hearts gave me all of that and then some.

The turmoil that both of these characters go through will have you feeling everything. And the beautiful writing will stay with you, and have you yearning for the next book.

I am so here for all of it!

5 stars, and if I could give it more I would.
Congratulations Nikki on a delicious, addictive high school bully romance. Bravo.

3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Style: Young Adult Romance
Story: 4/5

Enjoyment: 3/5
Male: Bad Boy, Mechanic & Sexy
Series: Book 1
Pages: 418
Kindle Unlimited: Yes

I like the story, the plot and betrayal. This story didn’t take place in high school, however, still had the teenage misfit feel to it.

Emily just turned 18 and her dad is a politician, so she grows up on the money side of the town. Ryan is part of a misfit crew and lives on the other side. The way how the story started for me, it reminded me of the movie,10 things I hate about you. You did get the impression, Emily really dislikes Ryan. However, as the story continues, I like the way Ryan crushes on Emily. I personally don’t feel like this is a bully romance as it felt more like a suspense, wanting to know the reason behind certain things.

Definitely what made this story come together were the other characters. I liked Emily’s friends. Effy is such a sweetheart, but omg, Liv so spicy. Ryan’s friends were good too although they really didn’t give me a dark vibe, only Brandon. Finn seems super nice and Zak, the man w**** lol.

Overall, it wasn’t bad. At certain areas it slowed down for me then picked back up. The plot and what unfold caught my interest and I thought Ryan was so fine. I liked how he handle Emily.

***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s definitely about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the stories you read. I know we all have different opinions and taste with what we read and hope this review was helpful.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “I’d thought the room was bathed in colour, but he just doused my whole soul in a vibrance that no colour could match. He was the spark that set my heart, soul, body and mind on fire.”
.
What you’ll find:
✔️New Adult Romance
✔️Bully Romance
✔️Enemies to Lovers
✔️Steamy Scenes
✔️Dual POV
.
Emily is the politicians daughter. Always putting on a face but deep down wanting to rebel from the anything but warm home environment. Ryan is a bad boy, looking to get answers and expose the truth. And he’ll use Emily to do that if he has to.
.
This is my first read by this author and I was pleasantly surprised by it. Not that I wouldn’t enjoy the author, but that I would really enjoy a NA read. It’s typically not my thing, but lately I’ve been having a bit of luck with it! This has the perfect element of romance, suspense and mystery to keep you you turning the pages. Plenty of secrets and deception.
.
Emily was fun and sassy. But Ryan stole the show for me though. He was a bit of a bully, but he wasn’t. His love for Emily was the sweetest. Which you wouldn’t expect to say in a bully romance but it just was. I adored him. Every “Is this okay?” melted my heart! The side characters really intrigued me as well. I was plotting their futures as I was reading. Brandon though, my gosh. You want to hate him, but all I see is a redemption story for him. Fingers crossed! His story is up next! Definitely check this out if you enjoy NA Bully romance!

My god, I am so happy I got to read this. I done it in under twenty four hours.
I was hooked from the get go.
I can’t say much as I don’t want to give anything away but I felt every single emotion in this book.
Emily and Ryan were just everything.
From the moment I read about Ryan I loved him.
I loved all the Renaissance Boys and I can’t wait to read all their stories.
Nikki, you smashed it with this book. I am obsessed.
Five stars does not do this book justice.
I want to give it all the stars in the world

Wow. I was not prepared for that.

Although this is classed as a romance novel there was SO much more to it. Yes there were parts that were heavy on the steamy dark romance however, the majority of the plot was based around a much deeper, intriguing mystery.

I thought Nikki did a fantastic job of characterising each individual so uniquely and clearly. There was a brilliant mix of personalities at play.

There was a strong story line filled with intrigue, intense lies and based in unique, almost creepy, setting. Although the end of Ryan and Emily’s story was neatly wrapped up, Nikki leaves us with a MASSIVE cliff hanger which I look forward to reading in Brandon’s story (book 2 of 3).

Absolutely kicking myself that I didn’t read this sooner!

Holy crap!

Nikki J Summers never disappoints me though, which is why I have no idea why I didn’t visit this series sooner!

The worlds Nikki spins are always done with such amazing detail, that I can’t help but be consumed by the story as it plays out.

Em & Ryan’s chemistry was next level & so was their story!

5 stars— now, to the rest of the series!

I can’t wait to see what unfolds in the next book!!!

In the words of Ryan Hardy, Holy fuck!

This book is fantastic. Renegade Hearts was my first ever ARC and I was in no way disappointed. It is an honour to have been among the first to read this incredible book and is an even bigger honour and privilege to review it. You are an inspiration.

So, onto the review...

I fell for Ryan... and Finn... and Zak and I have a little soft spot for Brandon too. Cannot wait to get to know him better!

These boys are on fire!

I loved Ryan and Emily's story, two beautifully written characters in one emotional rollercoaster of a story. Their love is inspiring. I'm a sucker for a bad boy with a heart of gold.

I love this genre, a group of sexy bad boys who are more brothers than friends, men with their own story to tell, each one different and unique whose loyalty knows no bounds.

I have been in a serious book hangover for a few weeks now and nothing could pull me out of it, until this bad boy dropped on my Kindle.

Eagerly awaiting Brandon's story!

Bravo Nikki, you created a masterpiece with this one!

Nikki J Summers knocks it out of the park once again.

This is my third book by this author and I can only hope she continues to write for many many years. Her writing is simply flawless and her characters are always incredible.

This book is no different. I would say Emily is probably my favorite female character of hers. Ryan was so charming, tough, fun and an absolute sweetheart. So enjoyed reading about this couple.

I fell pretty hard for Brandon as well and it isn't even his story. Nikki J Summers is just THAT good. Already started his story.

And I have to say Danny's speech brought an emotional lump to my throat.

Can't say enough good things about this author.

Omg.
This was a new genre for Nikki J Summers but damn. This was amazing.
From the beginning i was hooked, i loved Emily, i thought i had her sussed and then she spoke and blew that all out the water.
Enemies-to-Lovers is one of my favourite tropes and Nikki sure does write it well but Ryan and Emily? There was just something there. It was almost explosive.
I fell in love with the book before i even met the boys and then when you meet them. Damn do they cause a stir on your heart and feelings.
Ryan i fell in love with almost immediately, i love the way he was with Emily.
Each of them had their role in their group i loved them all for different reasons but Brandon caught my eye. There is something about him. I need more of him.
Nikki absolutely smashed this out the park, I'm looking forward to reading abouy the others.

This one was not for me. I did finish it, but I skimmed a lot of it. For me, the premise of the book did not match the story I got from a character perspective.

It had a really great storyline, but I personally needed much more development.

The ending did make me interested in book 2.

I don't often write reviews, and I really don't like writing negative reviews, but I honestly feel like I wasted some of my life and I will never get it back after this book. For me it was DNF at 65%.

I give it ⭐️⭐️.5 stars and and 🌶🌶. Here are a few reasons why:

We start off with Emily Winters, a "Good Girl" from a political family. It's her 18th birthday (which makes her JUST legal). She's your typical vanilla female lead who wants nothing more than the break away from the shackles of respectability and walk on the wild side. Then we have Ryan Hardy, the bad boy from the "Wrong Side of the Tracks". He's one of the four Renaissance Boys who apparently are so "bad" at age 21 that they run the town. Speaking of the town it's in England, although it could also be somewhere in rural Texas for all I know due to the lack of local imagery. Sure there's mention of Victorian Baths but that's about it. The main characters are two dimensional and predictable. Girl thinks boy is trash while secretly being titillated by him; boy is supposed to bully the girl, but really deep down he has a heart of gold and has secretly been in love with her for YEARs, although you'd never know it based off of their wooden dialogue and lacklustre chemistry.

The Renaissance Boys want to bring down Emily's dad for reasons that I still don't know at 65% of the way through the book. Emily is supposed to help them do that. Also, her brother died in a car accident that may or may not be related to wanting to bring down her father. Again, at over halfway through the book, it's not clear how or if any of this is related. Emily is naive and doesn't know anything and is supposed to fall for Ryan who is using her for information. She's also supposed to know lust even though she's just turned 18 and has never had a boyfriend. Oh, and she's virgin. Because of course she is.

Now that we've established who the characters are and what the purpose (maybe?) of the book is, I have questions:

1) How do Emily and Ryan even know each other? The author says it's from high school. It's England. They hold on to their class system like a security blanket. Emily's dad is supposed to be a wealthy MP capable of shady politics, possibly with a side of murder. Emily is supposed to live in a mansion in the town. Ryan's dad owns an auto body shop although it's never actually called an auto body shop, just some vague reference that it has something to do with cars. One could assume that Emily went to an expensive and posh private school while Ryan most likely went to public school. If this is the case, their paths would never likely cross, unless it's a VERY small town. In any event, I do not believe that they would know each from school this way. Their whole relationship from the beginning is unbelievable.

2) Assume that you're 21. At the age of 21 did you have the capability and investigative prowess to potentially uncover a nefarious plot acted out by a local politician? No? Neither did I at 21. If you did, then congrats! Now pretend that you're a 21 year old boy. If I was a 21 year old boy, I would be more interested in getting laid and where the next party is than uncovering the shady business dealings of said local politician. I certainly wouldn't have had the experience, nor the wherewithal, or the financial resources to hack into complex government databases like the local police and medical examiner's records, or know how to decipher multi-national banking transactions and be able to jump to the conclusion that it's got to be money laundering! The whole premise of the plot assumes that these kids (again, they're 21 year old boys) know how to do things most people in their 30's have no idea to do.

3) Does anyone remember what it's like to be inexperienced in the romance department? Do you remember how awkward it was trying to figure out feelings like lust? No, just me? Emily is supposed to be inexperienced. She's a good girl who has never had a boyfriend, at least according to her friend Liv (who is a pretty sh*t friend, IMO). At no point does the author let readers know that while Emily may be inexperienced in the bedroom, she's had experience either a) making out with someone, or b) at least having had an orgasm either from her battery operated boyfriend, or someone else. You're telling me that she is going to be intimately acquainted with her lady bits enough to know what's going on? How on earth can she recognize what she feels for Ryan even before he kisses her? If I was a bumbling 18 year old again (it's been a while) with zero experience, and I went out on a first date with a guy and he put his hand under my dress and I quote "he went full-on animal on me", I would absolutely mess up that situation, probably with some self-deprecating humour, but still. How are we supposed to believe she's this innocent *insert Britney Spears song* "not a girl, not yet a woman"? I will say this, at least Ryan asked for her consent and tells her that he will stop whenever she wants him too, so props to the author for that. I don't buy their chemistry, and if I'm being perfectly honest, for a bully romance, there's way too much sweetness.

4) This segues nicely into my next point. For a bully romance that is supposed to be steamy, this whole story lacks steam. I mean, most 21 year old men, despite what they'd want you to believe, don't have a plethora of experience by 21. You're telling me that Ryan has been laid so many times that he's able to hang on long enough as he's got his hand up Emily's skirt and his fingers in her underwear? I mean, if that's that what 21 year old guys are like, I want to go back in time and have a do-over. You want me to believe that he know's exactly what a woman's cl*t is, where it's located and what to do with it? If the answer is yes, Ryan needs to be a real person and he needs to teach men everywhere what to do when they encounter it. Yes Ryan has older brothers, but unless they've given Ryan some tips a la the magic book in American Pie, I'm not buying it. Just because you put all the right words together, like c*ck and p*ssy, and cl*t, doesn't mean that it'll translate in a believable, passion filled romance.

5) The pacing of the book is kind of excruciating. We start out and it's Emily's 18th birthday and they go to some private, super secret party thrown by the Renaissance Boys, and the next thing you know, the author is telling us that it's months later and that Emily and Ryan are now "together", calling each other babe after one date. There's surprisingly little plot movement if we're talking about months. The way that the book is written makes it seem like this whole thing happens over the span of max 6 weeks. Additionally, you're telling me that these children, are going to ruin the life of a politician based on their rudimentary investigative skills over the span of what, maybe 2 months? Does the author have any idea how long a case like that would actually take? I'm talking years here, with hard evidence. Not just some random cell phone screen shots from a teenager who managed to get into her dads desktop. I still don't buy that these kids are smart enough to pull any of this off.

Last but not least, and probably most importantly:

6) Did the author use any kind of grammar or spell check program while writing this book? Did anyone other than the author go through and spend any time at all editing this book? Does anyone else feel the need to edit as they read? I ask these as a legitimate questions. I can overlook the odd spelling mistake or grammatical error here or there, but there is no excuse for multiple instances of the same errors, especially in 2022 when there are apps that will fix these problems for you. There were also multiple instances of the same incorrect word used multiple time and incorrect words used interchangeably (leant and lent were used and no, lent was not used as in loan. It was used as in leaned). I get that writing a book is hard and I have nothing but respect for people who take the time and effort to bring stories to life, and I also acknowledge that not every book is perfect, but come on, these are basic things that shouldn't be that prolific throughout an entire book.

At the end of the day, I could have overlooked all of the plot holes and the problems with the characters and finished the book, but the icing on the cake was the spelling and grammar. That's what ultimately made me unable to finish this book. I think that this book could have been better if the author had:

1) Used a spelling and grammar app or program or used a proper editor who could have flagged some of the problems.

2) Made the characters older. They would have been more believable if Ryan and the rest of the Renaissance Boys had been in their late 20's or early 30's and if Emily had been in her early to mid 20's. I think giving the characters a bit of maturity would have gone a long way in both pacing and plot development. She could have made whatever shady thing that Mr. Winter's did happen when they were 21 and then they would have had years to gather evidence and make their plans to bring him down. Emily could have remained innocent but still have gained some life experience.

I really dislike not finishing books and I really tried with this one, but I just couldn't do it. Unfortunately, I will not be reading the other three books in this series.

My new addiction is definitely this series because once I met the Renaissance men, I needed more! Secrets, lies, deception and a lot of heart pounding, explosive intrigue definitely made this book unputdownable.

Emily has grown up in a privileged family, but life wasn’t much more than a photo opportunity and putting on a fake face for the public. Feeling extremely uncomfortable and alone in the life she was raised in, she longs to break free. She needs to make some changes and take back control from her parents now that she’s turned 18. Loved loved loved what a strong young woman she was despite her circumstances!

Calling themselves the Renaissance men, four friends organize and host illegal warehouse parties. They also have a hidden agenda that includes seeking some major truths and a twisted game of revenge.

When Emily and her two closest friends decide to crash one of these parties, the guys make sure Emily knows she doesn’t belong and isn’t welcome in their world. That is until Ryan decides to get close to Emily as a means to an end, however he might be a bit too intrigued by her...whose heart will end up being collateral damage in the end?

Enemies to lovers bully romance has never been so great...not just heart breaking, but heart shattering, hence the tears I cried! Although flawed, they were so perfect together. Ryan melted my heart right along with Emily’s.

We may get a happily ever after, but are also left with a lead in for the next book that knocked my socks off and left me with my jaw hanging open!! I’ll just be sitting in a corner rocking back and forth waiting for the next book...well played, Nikki, well played!

This book took me longer to read as I was getting out of my book hungover, but needless to say I really really liked it!

The story is about a girl named Emily, she’s a daughter of a politician. Even though her parents are rich and she sound be happy, she isn’t. Her life is not what it seems to be or should be.

Then we have the Renaissance Men with the main role of Ryan, Zak, Finn and Brandon. They are the guys your parents don’t want you to hang around, but you’d love to.

When I started reading it took me a little while to get into it, maybe for me the first few chapters were kind of slow and nothing much really happened. But after the first half of the book it got really better! And the ending?! Don’t even get me started on it, because I was furious! I had no idea what to feel. If I should feel happy, sad, anxious, scared, excited, cry...

I loved how Em didn’t back down no matter what. No matter what happened she knew how to strike back!

I can’t wait for the next book in this series, I think it will be my favorite one because of one main character!

"Sweetheart, if you are waiting for me to give a fuck, you'd better pack a lunch. Its gonna be a while."

Devoured this book today, I really enjoyed it. The back and fourth banter between Em and Ryan was epic, the chemistry between the two was off the charts... which made it all the hotter when they both FINALLY hit it off 🥵 .. I thought the storyline was really well thought out and it keeps you hooked from the get go! I think ryan is definitely my favourite out of the guys, although his brother sounds pretty tasty to be honest, he could bake me some fairy cakes anytime 😉😂 I do like Finn, he intrigues me as it's always the quiet ones you need to keep an eye on! Zak is the typical player but I dont feel like we know too much about him yet.. then, where do we even start with Brandon? 😫🥺 he is an absoloutle wa**er. But is he just misunderstood? Can he come back from this? (Literally). We get a few snippets of his past, and we know it's horrible 🥺 I have to see the good in people, I think he is craving love and to be loved. He thought he loved ***** (no spoilers).. but maybe more as a sister and the jealousy of their love got to him. I really hope he finds the girl for him in the next book, who understands him and can help him mend the broken bridges that he tore down.. back to emily and ryan, my heart was full at the end of the book, they were truly made for each other 🥰

Look up trigger warnings
While this book does have dark elements I think it was a great read. At first I thought it would be a bully romance but I am glad it wasn't. Ryan and Emily were perfect and the way he treats her was perfect. I love the way the ending set up the premise for the next book. I cant wait to read it !

I enjoyed the story of this, but unfortunately I wasn't a huge fan of the two main characters! I have a feeling I will enjoy the next book in the series though as I am more interested in his character arc so will definitely carry on to the next book! :)
