Just when ex-Navy SEAL, Julian Montgomery, and art conservator, Mena Nix, thought the shadow of danger over their lives had vanished, new threats emerge, and their relationship may never be the same.
Mena is still legally married and desperate to get a quick divorce before Julian finds out. But when her husband shows up on the island determined to win back her love, Mena knows getting out of this jam will be harder than she ever imagined. Desperate to keep the truth from Julian, Mena engages in a dangerous game that could cost her more than her relationship with Julian … it could cost her freedom.
Julian wants nothing more than to secure a conviction of the diabolical criminal mind responsible for the death of Ella Sapphire and the multiple kidnappings of Mena in Kenya. But when evidence of his past crimes resurfaces and finds its way into the wrong hands, Julian is forced to do the one thing he never thought he would ... help the island’s most wanted criminal go free.
Julian and Mena have fallen from grace, caught in a web of mayhem and destruction by their greatest enemies while their love hangs in the balance. Can they overcome the threats to their lives and their love? Or will they lose it all?
Angel never imagined she’d stumble into becoming an author. An avid fan of books her whole life combined with an active imagination were the right ingredients to embark on a single goal of completing one book. She knew she had stories in her head, but getting those out into words on paper was daunting to say the least.
Her earliest memories of trying to write a novel was a story inspired by the 1990’s movie starring Jean-Claude Van Damme called Lion Heart. She still has the 14-page first chapter, printed on blue paper, in her file cabinet as a reminder of where the seed of writing first began.
Angel loves action, thrillers and suspense as well as classic love stories penned by the likes of Jane Austen and Danielle Steele. Her writing blends the two in what she’s dubbed “Crime Thrillers for Women” — showcasing stories where female protagonists find their lives intersecting with criminals as they juggle trying to find love and save their own lives at the same time.
Angel resides in Tomball and is a brain-washed, card carrying Texan!
When Julian meets Mena he knows he’s found the love of his life. All he wants to do is to marry her and spend their lives together. Unfortunately he finds out that for some reason Mena is not yet on the same page, she’s holding something back but what? Mena definitely loves Julian but there’s a piece of her past that is stopping her. She can’t get married but she can’t tell him why not as she’s sure she’ll lose him. Plus there’s Dumay, one step ahead always and evil to the core. Surely they can stop her. They have to. Unfortunately Duma didn’t get the message and has plenty of plans to get even with Julian and Mena and anyone else who gets in her way. This is a great book with plenty of evil plots psychopathic individuals, tension, fear and romance. You really feel yourself rooting for Mena and Julian ( and scarily developed my own psychopathic tendencies in what I wanted to do to Michael! ). It’s frightening the emotions a book can instil. So if you want a really good read with a different type of plot. This is one for you. Can’t wait for the next one. I received a free ARC in return for an honest review. I loved it!
Wow another totally captivating intense, dynamic page turner. This book is a must read continuation from the previous one and the third in the series. As Julian finds himself on the other side of the law, he goes through a series of challenges to gain his freedom and protect the woman he loves Mena. While on the run trying to find the evidence to clear his name against Priscilla Dumay, Mena is left to face her own challenges. The emergence of her ex-husband Dr. Michael Mash, whom she is still legally married to adds a bit of drama to her life. The race to help Julian clear his name and get the divorce from Dr. Michael Mash before Julian finds out is nerve wrecking and intense. Experience crazy mind blowing sexual encounters between Julian and Mena in this compelling adult romantic suspense.
The Fallen Hero (Hero in Paradise Book 3), my third read from author Angel Vane. A thrill-a-minute, captivating tale that takes unexpected twists & turns, always keeping the reader engaged. The first book, The Accidental Hero (Hero in Paradise Series), was good, The second, The Relentless Hero (Hero in Paradise Book 2) even better. This better yet! I was given a Kindle copy of this book and I'm voluntarily reading & reviewing it because every great book needs reviews. I'll definitely be reading more from this author and in the Paradise Series! (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Third book in the series is the best so far. Pricilla Dumay is on trial and Mena and Julian are testifying against her. Pricilla lures Julian into the prison room where she is being held. She has put in place a very diabolical plan into place. Julian is arrested for a crime he did not have any control over. Mena thought her marriage to Michael was not real since he had two other wives. She has not told Julian. This is a suspenseful novel with a lot of twists and turns to keep your interest.
This book is hard to put down. Both Mena and Julian are intense people but they complement each other. They have already been through a lot together, now they face a formidable adversary in Patricia Dumay. They both have highly influential friends. This gives them a leg up so they can turn situations to their advantage. They go through some very intense situations to finally resolve their innocence.
As the third in the Hero in Paradise Series This one is another thrilling mystery with plenty of action and romance but might be a bit confusing if you haven't read the earlier stories featuring the same characters. I recommend you start with the prequel Hidden Threat and you'll get hooked. I promise they are all worth binging on! I can't wait for the 5th and final story coming in 2021.
A thrilling and interesting reading that captivates the reader´s attention from the beginning. The plot and the story are well written and it has so many twists and turns that you just want to finish it to learn who the culprit is! Looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I downloaded a free copy of this book through StoryOrigin and this is my honest review.
