Book five in the series provides a stunning conclusion to the battle with Kalfu. Annabelle and Isabelle must rebuild Vilokan, take down the evil Loa and restore the balance. Things will never be the same for the soul fused pair after this. There is more growth, more learning and just a whole lot more to love about this series as the pair become who they were meant to be. Highly recommend. I volunteered to read this book via Booksprout.

“Voodoo Queen” the fifth and final book in the “Voodoo Legacy Series” by Theophilus Monroe is a veritable page-turner and a fantastic series finale, that take up a notch in an already high quality urban fantasy series.
Annabelle (and Isabelle) returns from the stint in the watery realm to find Vilokan in ruins and its members hiding and in fear for their life, and thus Annabelle embark into the rebuilding of the Voodoo world. First things first… the Voodoo needs a new Queen to survive and thrive, and it should not come as a surprise that Annabelle is (if reluctantly at first) the best candidate for the job. The magic world is still in fight, Kalfu and its followers will face the remains of the Voodoo world with Annabelle at the new Queen. After all is fought and set the soul fused duo Anna-Isabelle will undergo their most taxing test, that force them grow and learn some secret truths that would change them forever.
Theopilus Monroe has successfully created one of the most original fantasy worlds of the year and a unique addition to the UF genre. A fantastic bled of voodoo, magic, fantasy, mystery, romance flowing into a fast-paced, action-filled, coherent and very well-written story, which is populated with interesting and relatable characters, and describes a fully realistic environment in which the more fantastic aspects of the tale serve to highlight the credibility of the story.

Holy hellhounds! Theophilus bursts through full throttle, kicking ass and eliminating foe, rocking this bad boy to the core, riding the winds and booting the gates of hell wide open, melding this gem together seamlessly. Packing a punch and laying down the rules rolling this action packed, hard hitting, nail-biting, nerve racking, adrenaline pumping, heart pounding, pulse racing, page flipping, block buster, seizing control and calling the shots, blasting this baby to life spectacularly. Toss in the drama, turmoil, intrigue, angst, danger and spiraling suspense ensues, along with intense situations and a boatload of underlying threats while dodging disaster, you have one mind-blowing masterpiece. Twixt, twined and tightly woven, displaying the soaring ups and agonizing downs, impressive in it's simplicity and thrilling in it's depth, putting our characters through their paces, kicking this baby to a whole new level. Lines blur and boundaries crossed, limitations are amplified and exploited, riding the current and breaking waves, testing our characters in ways they could have never imagined. The characters are complex and genuine with traits and qualities that add depth and diversity, transforming into amazing personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions that feel as though you were transported to ground zero with them. Annabelle returns from the underwater world of Agwe to find that Vilokan had been drowned leaving many of those who had come to see the trials dead and rotting. She heard that the Bokors were backing the demon Kalfu who seemed to have become her nemesis, and she was choosen to become the next voodoo queen. She was an outsider but the previous queen declared that only she and Isabelle could bring the people together once again as a force to face the upcoming war. One which Ogoun had been predicting but which none of the other Loa's had believed in or prepared for. Meantime Mercy's coven of vampires was growing exponentially but whose side will these be fighting for? Can Annabelle trust Mercy to gather her vampires to aid them in their war? She had many on her side but would she be able to revive Vilokan, restore hope to the survivors and provide them with a safe place away from Kalfu, most importantly can she inspire the people to trust her and follow her, an outsider? I love the conclusion to what has been a very exciting series, I loved that Annabel had grown so much through her training in the voodoo world and had taken on her responsibilites with such dedication. The ending is amazing.

Voodoo Queen is a phenomenal end to this series but not an end. It has action in the form of Vodoo wars and action and the wonderful characters to keep you reading. Many OMG moments are evidence of so many dramatic OMG moments that you cannot put this book down. There are betrayals but none that you cannot find a reason for, as well as many acts of selflessness that keep you equally engaged. Annabelle and Isabelle are to be loved and heralded as heroes. So many surprises may make you rethink your process on others. I praise and herald characters for their bravery through their steadfastness in loyalty. Give this book and the entire series a read for a compelling series and book that keep you engaged and wanting more.

I so wanted to love this.
However there were just a few issues I had that kept me from loving this. Firstly, there were more new characters added. Frustrating. Then there was the Annabelle’s parents thread that just fizzled for me. Kalfu was a bust. Hailey was annoying, and Annabelle had a frustrating habit of ignoring advice or instructions, and muddling her way through which generally made things worse.
Apart from that I liked how the story flowed. It went by pretty quickly, so there’s that. Favourite scenes were with Annabelle and Marie Laveau and then with Chad and Beli.
A pretty good series if you’re looking for a fast paced read with a fun premise. Has it’s problems, but then again, what series doesn’t?

Theophilus does it again - SCORE!
Monroe is a creative, gabby genius and this entire series is amazing. From book one where we (re-)meet Annabelle and Ashley, through book 5, TM leads us on a wild ride through Voodoo, magic, faith, good vs. evil, love, diversity and acceptance. Voodouins, vamps, dragons, merpeople, wyrms...he even threw in a Catholic priest ghost to spread the love!
I don't ever want to spoil any plot, so I'll just say that if you are a Theophilus Monroe fan DO NOT skip this series! There's even another separate but related series for a vamp character that is next on my reading list, and I mean tonight!

This is another great book in a wonderful series! This is book 5 and you should read the first four books before this one! Once again the character development is complex and the characters are growing as people as the series moves along. The world building is great and believable. The writing flows off the page and pulls you into a complex and interesting world. I highly recommend this series for fantasy lovers!

The Gourd needs breaking ....What ? Bella needs to become more , The Bad guys need to be Vanquished, The Vampires might turn ? What will the outcome portend ? I am a Humble ARC reviewer who absolutely loves this series, You will also have no doubt. The romance is subtle , The Action is never-ending, the Magic, and Battles will make you wish you hadn't read so fast ,because b4 you know it it's over ,leaving you wanting MORE... NOW !!! Theophilus Monroe is a new author for me and I'm glad I took the leap. This is a series of books that keeps the action and suspense moving forward with strong characters that won't disappoint. One story leads into another and you'll want to be a page turner until isn't any more. This author will become a part of my keeper library.

Unexpected resolutions
Wow. Everything resolved and hopes fulfilled. I'm not too much a fan of everything wrapping up in the last few pages...I prefer things resolved gradually to avoid that sense of anticlimax and too much serendipity. However, the solutions here we're spot-on and an epilogue is really the only true lack here. Hopefully, future stories will provide a continuation.

This was a great book. Loved storyline. Lots of humor and action. The characters are quite colorful and the narrator does a good job bringing them to life. Each one has their own flavor by the narrator and makes listening enjoyable. The world building is done right by author and the narrator has done a good job expressing that also. I received a promo code for this audiobook and this is my honest review.

The original Voodoo Queen, Marie Laveau, is now deceased. Annabelle has lost Isabelle to Hailey, but ultimately, with the defeat of Kalfu, Isabelle and Mikah are able to connect on a spiritual level and will serve as the guardians of the crossroads. Additionally, Oggie has returned! This story is pretty much non-stop action, and with Annabelle the newly ordinated Voodoo Queen, it's time for Mercy to show her true worth. Very highly recommended.

New Characters and showing what the other characters can do. We have suspense, action, and trust issues. Annabelle is the new Voodoo Queen. Can she lead? Will they follow her? Can she do what is expected of her? Will she ever defeat Kalfu, before he takes over? Praying for the best.

Another great book to the series ! Captivates you with all the action, suspense, twists, magic and so much more. Can Annabelle be the Voodoo Queen that’s needed ? Will she be able to get rid of evil guys that seem never ending ? The characters are great and well developed.

This is a brilliant read.
Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.

This is book 5 of the Gates of Eden: The Voodoo Legacy series. I love this series. As usual I love the book cover. The storyline is well written with well developed characters. The story is interesting with action and suspense. I would recommend reading this series.

Surprising
Annabelle has become the Voodoo Queen by default. Not a good deal. Now, she has to learn about her new abilities and defeat Kalfu. (Not an easy task.) And, she must do it with little help. This book has plenty of action and some surprising turns. There's even a huge surprise at the end.

Voodoo Queen: An Action Packed Urban Fantasy Series (Gates of Eden: The Voodoo Legacy Book 5) , my twenty-second read from author Theophilus Monroe. Another well written & enjoyable read. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Sydney Fry's narration again adds greatly to the enjoyment of the book. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

This series is so amazing!! I love Annabelle and Isabelle and how they have grown. The storyline is amazing and I love how unpredictable it is!

Wow! There is alot going on in here. A new voodoo queen and voodoo wars. Holy hell this book is great. There were alot of new characters. Great end to a great series.

Wow! Yet another amazing series finale. There’s a new Queen in town, and she’s bringing it! Again this book is packed with action from the start with lots of twists. Can everyone team up together to beat Kalfu and set everything right again? You bet they can!!

Really that's how your going to end the series Monroe. Anyways I very much enjoyed listening to this whole series my favorite character is still and always going to be Pauli, then of course Annabell and Isabel. the narrator did a really good job too.

I really enjoyed this story. It was a great listen. Wonderful well and written plot and storyline. Great suspense all the way through. Not to impressed with the narration though, childish and littered with bad language. Cannot wait for the next book though. Highly recommended listen.
