*** This book series contains mild language and some depictions of violence. ***
I was invested into the story but its not that great. There are so many times I reading this and doing the "eye roll". It was available on Kindle Unlimited. If I had to pay for the series I would Have NOT done so.
I had liked the first two books a lot and am not sure how this fell off my radar, but am glad I picked it up to finish what has been a good series. This has a lot of vivid fighting, but you definitely have good guys for whom to cheer. I've been to the lovely state of Vermont a few times and don't remember any of the people that used what I would consider a southern dialect of speech. It is also a good reminder that people can be easily influenced by nefarious types when they are scared and hungry. Overall this was a good series and it ends well.
The first half of this book was similar to the previous two and was enjoyable however towards the end there were too many moving parts and characters in complex relationships and it became harder to follow. Still enjoyable but I wish some more time had been taken leaving up to the action and chronicling the interactions between characters.
Books 1 & 2 were full of action and suspense, this one was more of just a big long book of fighting and killing. It was disappointing compared to the others but had to read it to find out how it ended. I would read more from these authors though!
