Can a scarred alien warrior & a human woman find love together on a planet far from Earth?

When animal shelter assistant Lily is selected as a mail-order bride in the Extraterrestrial Matchmaking Program, she dreams of starting a new life with her computer-matched alien groom. But on the way to Crakair, she’s kidnapped and caged on one of the planet’s moons. Her future appears hopeless.

A mercenary, Jorg’s a seven-foot-tall, scaled green alien with scars on his face that make others flinch. Abandoned as a youngling and forced to raise himself, he’s learned not to expect much from others. He finds satisfaction in rescuing kids who have been stolen and returning them to their homes. But when he watches Lily’s introduction video, his matebond ignites. Maybe fate will give him a chance at love after all.

Then Lily is stolen by other aliens. With his blood rage igniting, Jorg’s determined to rescue her. But once he does, will she choose to stay with a wounded alien warrior or return to her safe life on Earth?

Jorg is book 3 in the Mail-Order Brides of Crakair Series. This standalone, full-length story has on-the-page heat, aliens who look and act alien, a guaranteed happily ever after, no cheating, and no cliffhanger.

AVA ROSS fell for men with unusual features when she first watched Star Wars, where alien creatures have gone mainstream. This installment in Mail-Order Brides of Crakair sadly fell a little short for me.

Storyline:
Rushed. Everything seemed to be moving at warp speed not allowing me to feel connected to the storyline, Lily or Jorg.

MC:
Jorg had intrigued me in book 2. There was a dark, mysterious feel I in book 2 but it just was not there in his novel. Leaving me a little disappointed.

Lily:
Her backstory felt rushed and like I had read it before. There were times I caught myself scanning and had to stop....rewind....and start again.

Secondary characters:
As I write this I am having trouble remembering their names, with the exception of the characters from the preceding books in this series.

I am definitely going to continue this series because I enjoyed the first two books so much. This one just was not for me.

My favorite of the series so far!! 5 stars

This novel had so many different elements that I loved, and Ava worked her magic and spun them all together, creating a story I absolutely adored. Jorg was so freaking sweet and protective but allowed Lily to make her own decisions, while I felt like Lily was my soul sister as we had so many things in common. Ava blended the right amount of romance, danger, and adventure in this story with the sweetest alpha alien hero you've ever read. I highly recommend this series if you love alien romance or if you're interested in the genre but don't know where to start. I am so stoked for Kral and Wulf's stories next ♡

Reckless devotion!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💚💜💙❤️🩶
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Chemistry: 🧪🧪🧪🧪
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏
Character development: 😒🤩😀😍
Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Lily - A virus killed of most of the human males and also killed the females on the planet Crakair. Recently the Crakair males made a deal with Earth for technology and in exchange they opened an agency to send brides from Earth to Crakair. The brides are matched with a male from Crakair and when they arrive on the planet they have ten days to decide whether to stay or they can return to Earth. Lily’s sister Sadie had recently joined the program and wanting to be near her sister, Lily decided to do the same. She worked in an animal shelter on Earth and was hoping this would be a new life for her after some terrible things had happened to her in the past.

The Hero: Jorg - he is a hardened mercenary. Though he was friends with Bryk, who lived next door to him and had been a fleet commander. He was trusted by Bryk and Sadie to watch Bryk’s son when they were away. Jorg worried that Lily (Sadie’s sister and the bride chosen for him), may have been turned off by his appearance and gruff nature. He was worried that his scarred face would scare her, but after sending her a video, he had hope for the match, he was tired of being alone.

The Story: After seeing the video that Lily sent to Jorg, he felt the mate bond and couldn’t wait the seven more days for her to get to Crakair. So, he decided to take his ship and meet her on her way there. Though he knew he would have to cloak his ship and sneak aboard the starship she was traveling on. When he got to the starship, he snuck on and was chased by some of the droids aboard the ship. Lily didn’t recognize him, but she was attracted to him when she saw him and surprised to find out who he was.

This setup has such a compelling blend of emotional vulnerability and high-stakes sci-fi intrigue. You’ve got a deeply wounded heroine seeking a fresh start, and a brooding, battle-hardened hero afraid he’s too damaged to be loved—it’s practically tailor-made for that aching, slow-burn connection. Lily’s background in an animal shelter adds a layer of compassion and resilience that makes her feel grounded, even amidst the interplanetary drama. And Jorg—sneaking aboard a starship just to be closer to a woman he’s never met but already senses a bond with? That’s a beautifully reckless kind of devotion. Things got really exciting after Jorg leaves the starship and it gets attacked by aliens out to capture the human females.

This audiobook was narrated from multiple perspectives, done in dual narration by Teddy Hamilton and Tawnia Murray. Teddy Hamilton is one of my favorite male narrators and he always does a terrific job. He has an awesome voice and is very expressive, he is also great at using different voices for different characters. Tawnia Murray is not one of my favorites, though she is not bad and has a pleasant voice.

Ugh. We went from Chapter 1 a very shy insecure male to Chapter 2 an outgoing brazen male. There are so many mood swings in these characters. iI guess the intent was to be ‘cute’ or ‘humorous’. It was more ‘Three Stooges’. Done with this series.

So we continue the series with Lily and Jorg's story. Lets meet Lily, she is Sadie's sister by the way, she seems to be a lot of fun. So after reading about her we realize that she is a sweet girl. She is smart and funny too. Now what would possess her to sign up to become a bride. Well one her sister is in Crakair and what does she got to lose. She has not had the best time on earth with what she dealt with from her ex. She is also a lover of pets. Let me tell you that after reading some of the crazy animals Crakair has she is crazy. She handles it with ease. Then we have Jorg who is a mercenary. Say what? Not a bad guy but a good buy. He is like a one man search and rescue. He is the guy people turn to when they can't find something. However, he has a harsh past. Also due to his job he has scars and looks a bit scary. He is hoping that when he meets Lily that she does not write him off. So with this in mind he does something crazy which was sweet if you think about it. When things seem to be looking up then bam something happens and oh man does it get intense. Its funny how even in the midst of something going wrong these men still try to follow the courtship rules. So will these two get a happily ever after. Read it to find out.

Ava Ross does it again; Jorg steals your heart!

I loved Axil and Vork, Bryk wasn't to my taste, but Jorg intrigued me. My curiosity was well-met, in that Ava Ross did me right and delivered me a sensitive, wounded, badass, who was there to snap necks without worrying about names, to save his damsel. Oh, swoon--this Crakairian is just as wacky as he is deadly, but I blame that dichotomy on his flower garden.

So a Crakairian, human, TX-75, and a creelet jump into a glorm hole, and the TX-75 says... it could actually be a joke, so don't squint your eyes.

There is a lot of humor here because it's an Ava Ross Alien Rom-Com, and the creelet madness alone is suitable alone for a few chuckles, almost as good as Vork's mother, Sleveka, and Silas. But let's not stop there because Ava Ross goes even further into the funny and brings us Bane the TX-75, and you will love the antics of Lily and Bane.

But it's not all giggles because this book deals with two of our most broken characters in Lily and Jorg, and Ava handles them delicately. She addresses the trauma as a Crakairian and his mate would--head-on so that they could get to the courting, marriage, and--well you know.

**SPOILER**

This was exactly what I wanted and for sure what I needed!

This is, by far, my favorite book in this series. The first half of the book you get to see the two lovebirds meet and "go on dates" in a pretty unusual setting. Was it unbelievably romantic? You bet your sweet ass it was.

After Bryk I was a little worried about the characters. I held such high hopes for Sadie that I couldn't stand them being dashed again when I'm somehow even more invested in the storyline. As it turns out though, we had nothing to fear. Sadie's sister, Lily, was so much fun and she had some real gumption to her. I liked her fire and I liked her personality. I loved how loyal she was throughout the entire book. And then we get to see Jorg in a completely different light as sort of a seductive, rebellious bad boy. Which, as we all know, is the best kind of 7 foot tall green scaly alien out there.

description

The plot in this one was the best so far. Shit hits the fan about halfway through and so while the first half of the book was sweet and panty dropping, the second half is adventurous and angsty and I thoroughly loved it.

They were a perfect match for each other and, if I may be so bold, they had the best side characters in this one. Or characters of side, if you will. Bane!! Sweet, loveable Bane. Not to mention, Thor. Also, a sweet and loveable little thing. I loved how this book turned out and am eagerly awaiting Kral's story!! Just another week or so and we'll see how the next rescue mission goes!

4&1\2 terrific 🌟's for Jorg & Lily!

I have really enjoyed this series each book is a heart warming story with just the right amount of danger, and adventure. Jorg, is a special forces type of male he goes in when few dare to tread. He was abandoned by his mother and raised himself to be a strong make determined to do the right thing. Even so he doesn't truly fell a woman could truly love him. Until he's paired with Lily. Lily, is Sadie's sister from the last book. She's been hurt before by her ex and needs a real male in her life to show her that not all males are overbearing alphaholes! They meet and the attraction is instant and they have fun getting to know each other until disaster strikes. Jorg must rescue his Lily from being sold and he will do whatever he has to go save his mate! Passionate, loving and a great instalment to the series! I can't wait to read the next in the series!💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

Jorg Tredvax Zorel Qua’zad was a sweet and protective male who lives next door to Sadie and Bryk. Working in his garden calmed him and filled him with peace, and that is where Sadie found him. She came running over to tell Jorg that her sister, Lily Johnson, had sent him a vid since they were selected as potential mates in the Extraterrestrial Matchmaking Program. Jorg has scars and is afraid she would reject him, so he didn’t provide his com access to Lily directly to respond to him. Jorg is hopeful, despite his fears of rejection. He wants her in his life, and the vid she sent seemed to indicate she felt the same. As he reached out to touch the holographic projection, his matebond symbol appeared on his palm! He was so eager to meet her, but it would take another week until her arrival, so he cloaked his small personal ship and headed out to meet the star cruiser she was on.

While Lily’s droid tried to teach her all she needed to know according to the Crakairian Council, she sneaked off and found a little creature to make friends with. Having worked in an animal shelter, she was drawn to animals. Her grumpy droid she nicknamed Bane (as in “a cause of great distress or annoyance”) was not happy, but she told him to return to her room and she would be along in 10 minutes. When she started back to the room, a Crakairian ran down the hall. She wanted adventure, assumed he was a pirate, and she was drawn to him immediately. He even smelled delicious! When he took her forearm, she ran with him from the android crew chasing him. Hiding in a closet, he kissed her as if they were made for each other. But the droids found them too soon, and he rushed off. Right before he disappeared, she asked his name and was stunned when he answered with a smile, “Jorg – YOUR Jorg!”

Fortunately, the Commander and Jorg knew each other well. The Commander decided to give him a day with his intended mate before he had to leave. It was a good way for them to learn to play, as he selected ice skating for their activity without any clue as to what it was. The day ended all too soon. But as Lily’s ship continued to Crakair, she and her friends are kidnapped and caged on one of the planet's moons, to be sold. In a furious blood rage, Jorg goes after her. Will he have to convince her to stay with him after this horrible experience? Will she insist on returning to Earth?

This was an amazingly good book that will draw the reader right in. Within 30 seconds, I loved Jorg and wanted only happiness for him. Lily, despite her abused background by her ex, was a strong woman who knew exactly what she wanted. She reached out in kindness and friendship to so many – her little “doggie” Thor, her grumpy droid Bane and anything else that she could befriend. The story line kept melting me with every bit of laughter and joy the characters displayed. This was my favorite of the series and I highly recommend it!

Lily and Jorg was really Good 🤩🥰

Okay, this book redeemed itself at the last moments. It started off very well but towards the middle Bane and Lily were upsetting me. She was being very selfish and foolish. Without getting too deep and giving away spoilers I will just leave it at that. But I added that star I was going to remove back on once things settled down and Bane got back on my good side and Lily started to think more collectively and not just for herself. I really liked her character though despite her minor flaws while on that “distant location” 🌚 and she was a survivor. But what drew me to her was her attractiveness and her willingness to love and be loved. Yes she had her reservations and she was trepidatious but she was still open to put herself out there. I loved that courage and inner fire about her. I also loved that she was an animal lover (this will come in handy 🤣😂) and I loved that she wasn’t afraid to tell her mate what she needed and what she expected mutually from one another. Openness is very important to me and she realized that as well. Jorg was a great male lead in this book. Wanting nothing but to please his mate. I too wanted to hunt down the trash that harmed Lily. Working EMS I’ve seen many instances of domestic abuse on women, children and some men. Beating your loved ones is never acceptable. Verbally abusing them and making them feel like trash is never acceptable. So to know that Lily suffered made me want to have the blood fued with her ex 😡💀. I’m looking forward to Mila and Taylor’s books. Kral and Wulf looked ready for business towards the end! So we’re in for a treat! Little Alicia sounds just as sweet as can be. Especially her description. A shame we haven’t seen more Weld or about his surprise from Sadie. I was looking forward to that. Dreams crushed. 😑. This book though had lots of sweet and tender moments. I enjoyed it. 5 cosmic stars from me. 💥💥💥💥💥

2021 READ: 5 STARS!

I enjoyed reading this one, as much as I enjoyed the others. The FLs since book 0 are adorable and strong. But what's with the sisters Saddie (book 2) and Lily (book 3)? They threw some surprises that made me smile. This one had less sex scenes compared to the previous books but this had more adventures and characters.

Lily, the dog whisperer, complimented Jorg, the mercenary, really well. I never expected Jorg to be acting like a randy youth in the beginning hahaha. The courtship inside the ship was sweet and both MCs were accepting and understanding each other. They really wanted to commit to the relationship.

Then Lily was kidnapped

Jorg searched for her and rescued her and her friends. They were stranded in one of the deserted moons, Mia, of the planet Crakair. With the enemies still pursuing them, and the a new danger awaited them in the place, the scenes showed the partnership of Jorg and Lily.

I really found Lily to be a strong woman . She wanted to contribute in the relationship, partnership, etc. And she did.

"I will protect you," he said.

Resolve filled her eyes. "And I will protect you."

Jorg saved her with his mercenary skills. And Lily protected him with her animal skills.

No warrior had shown more strength than this woman. He was proud to be her mate and eager ti stand beside her for the rest of their daelas.

My review is not for intelligent discussion. It's what I felt/thought while reading the book. For 2021, I would rate the book this way:
1 - DNF'ed
2 - does not exist
3 - did not like
4 - it was okay
5 - I like it / I enjoy reading it (but it doesn't mean I recommend it)

A year ago a mysterious disease swept through the galaxy, killing most of the females on Crakair and the surrounding planets, plus the men on a distant planet called Earth so it was necessary to match earth's women with Crakair men. Lily, from earth, and Jorg, from Crakair, were matched as potential mates. Lily had seen a video of Jorg, a 7 foot tall green scaled creature with scars on his face that he was sure would repulse her but she was coming despite what she saw. She even sent him a video a herself after receiving his. He watched it endlessly. She was coming to Crakair to meet him and if they suited they would make a matebond but it would take a whole week for her to arrive. He found he could not wait that long as it had taken a long time for the match to happen and he felt with the huge scar on his face she would find him repulsive and he just had to know if she did or didn't now. He decided to sneak aboard her ship and introduce himself and get the answer to his question. Unfortunately he was caught by the captain who luckily was not unsympathetic to his cause. He was allowed to stay only to the end of the day then he would need to go back home and wait for her to arrive with the rest of the brides. Just about when it was time for the ship to arrive all of the brides were captured by slavers. Jorg by this time knew Lily and him were meant to be so he set out to free Lily and make her his forever. It was dangerous business and you will have to read the book to find out how it turns out.

The characters were well developed and the plot was well developed unlike some romance novels,

Jorg has just been mate matched with Lily, the sister of his new human neighbor Sadie. He can hardly contain his excitement, but he’s equally nervous that his scarred appearance will scare her off. Then Sadie reveals that Lily has become obsessed with the video he sent and made one of her own. Upon viewing it, Jorg’s matebond immediately flares to life. It’s breaking every protocol, but he rushes out to meet her days ahead of schedule. Good thing too, because some very unsavory types have set their sights on the new Earth brides as well.

Lily and Jorg played a peripheral role in BRYK, but now they’re getting the character development they deserve. More than either of the previous two books in this series, JORG places the bulk of its emphasis on the H and h rather than spending so much time describing the alien customs and creatures of Crakair. The balance felt just right to me. Both Jorg and Lily have suffered in their pasts, but it was refreshing to read about characters who were so determined to put those parts of their lives behind them instead of letting their experiences cast a constant shadow over their lives. Their traumas do come up, but they’re always addressed in a mature fashion.

The foundation for the next two books has been laid and it looks like the author is going to start exploring another side of this world. I can’t wait to see how that turns out. Plus, I’m really looking forward to reading more about the beings who inhabit Crakair’s closest planets.

Full blog tour review with an excerpt and teasers: https://reesesreviews.blogspot.com/20...

Jorg was a very cute story. Earth and Jorg's home planet had a terrible disease wipe out half of their population. Now they need each other to survive. This included coming up with the system where women and males can enter to be paired with their special someone.

Jorg is nervous about his match. He considers himself a hideous beast after being left by his mother at a young age and having terrible scarring on his face. When he gets a message from Lily he knows he can't wait to meet her and travels to her ship without permission to meet her.

Lily has just gotten out of an abusive relationship and is looking for a change. When she runs into a sexy space pirate she has an instant connection with. When she finds out he's her perspective mate she knows it's only a matter of time before she says yes to forever with him.

Jorg was a cute read. Lily and Jorg had their demons from their past to work through. They had instant chemistry and passion for each other.

I was super excited about this story and couldn't wait to read it. I enjoyed a lot of aspects of this story but I felt like the emotional aspects of the story were rushed through to get to the sexy times which I didn't like as much. I had also hoped for more of an interesting tale about Lily being taken, but that was another adventure that was a bit rushed through for me.

Overall, this was a cute read and I'm excited to see where the story goes from here.

I finished reading Jorg by Ava Ross yesterday and I have to say that I loved it. It is definitely the best book in the Mail-Order Brides of Crakair series, to date.

Ava writes strong, sexy males with some surprising alien ‘benefits’. Each Crakairian hero has been loveable, however Jorg is my favourite to date.

Jorg’s background has impacted him emotionally, so when he feels a connection with Lilly it is profound. Their story is so sweet it will melt your heart. The heat between them is also off the charts and there is loads of action, which I have come to expect with this series.

You can tell that Ava is a Star Wars fan as there are so many quirky ‘alien replacements’ for everyday things (food, baths, foot spas, pets, mattresses, etc.) like every good alien story should have.

I also love the whole ‘Alien being fascinated by the strange human differences’ that these novels have – hello boobs and eyebrows!

If you like Alien sci-fi romance, you will really enjoy this series.

Sadie's sister, Lily, is on her way to meet her match, Jorg, when he appears on the transport ship.

Even tho she barely recognizes Jorg, they flee the droid crew and hide in a closet until found. Jorg is hauled to the ship's commander, who he is lucky to be known by, and wrangled and afternoon of time with Lily, to woo her. It's only hours after Jorg leaves that the transport ship with the twenty human brides is attacked, boarded, and Lily and her two friends, who were having a party together, are all abducted by the blue , four armed and sometimes winged, Al'Kieern pirates. They are separated, and Lily is left with her protocol droid , who has clung to her, and the tiny, furry six-legged rodent/dog, Thor, that Lily found and adopted in a cell on the moon Mia, above Crakair. Jorg finds out about the attack and kidnapping and goes after the girls, not knowing they have been separated. It's a strange rescue, each of them rescues the other, Lily makes more animal friends, to Jorg amazement, those animals rescue them and they head to Crakair, for the final part of their engagement.

🌶️🌶️

Lily. Ironic that the human female he’d been matched with had the name of a flower.

One thing was clear. He was not the only one bearing scars.

Hope, a fragile blossom he had no right nurturing, poked up through the warm soil in his mind. It reached for the sun.

“Would you like me to ravish you?” His voice had dropped three octaves.

He tasted even better than he smelled.

Something big and vibrating in his pants connected with her belly. She’d heard about Crakairian vibrating cocks.

She had not flinched. She had not cringed away from his face. She’d acted as if it truly did not matter.

The matebond symbol on his hand proved they were matched, and his heart… He shook his head, and his naanans fluttered. He’d dwell on his heart later.

He’d jumped into her life, full force, and wrapped her up in the game.

Things that knock you down don’t have to crush you; they can make me stronger.”

“Such as your scars. They show the world that something couldn’t beat you.”

“When you are ready, I will take your hand and jump with you.”

His naanans were lethal weapons. Jorg was a lethal weapon.

“Scream for me, Lily. You want to. Tonight, when I lay in my bed, I want to hear your cries echoing in my mind.”

“It means fate brought us together and will never tear us apart.”

“I will not give up until I have found you.”

“You were brought here for an auction.”

Earthling women are highly prized.”

Determination shoved aside her fear. She was going after him; she’d find him, no matter where he was.

I could already tell Jorg was going to be a charmer. A longer who rescues people and gardens in his free time? Total charmer. And Jorg becomes more alive and outgoing once he meets Lily, in a move unconventional way. They are both open with each other with gentle teasing and joking as well as the less pleasant aspects of their pasts. While both continue to be troubled by their pasts, they recognize this and are still set on pursing happiness, rather than pushing it away in fear of loss.

In addition to Jorg and Lily being utterly adorable, Lily makes a slew of friends along her way. The most adorable of which is an alien rodent pupper who clacks and squeaks and hides adorably when frightened, and protocol droid with new dreams of becoming a side kick. Jorg isn't as confident with these last two becoming part of his household, but he quickly sees they are part of what comes with Lily and is willing to dive head first into this new, and more crowded, life.

And the alien kidnappers learn to not mess with an alien dildo-weapon.

"...in that instant, he finally understood. A smile shared a person’s soul with others."

Jorg was a standout character when he appeared in Byrk's book. A friend and neighbor with a rough appearance but a heart of gold, who just needs the right woman to look beyond the surface to see the caring man within.

Lily is the sister of Byrk's mate, so it feels like an extra bit of fate when she is selected for Jorg. She's ready to leave behind Earth, and the mistakes of her past for a better, brighter future.

This kindle unlimited book stands solidly on its own, though knowing other characters mentioned in the book, and having a little "backstory" not only gave me a richer reading, but had me eagerly anticipating this book. That can be a positive and a negative... Sometimes the anticipation gets my hopes too high, but this book delivered! Lily is the right woman for Jorg, her compassionate heart matches his caring nature beautifully.

I positively adored Lily's subplot with her protocol droid. From start to finish that was a delight.

Ava Ross has become one of my top 10 must read authors and this book (the 3rd in the Mail-Order Brides of Crakair) is only one of the reasons. Ms. Ross has a way of storytelling and world building that makes you feel that you are part of the story. Jorg and Lily

Lily is one of the human women picked by the Selection, to be a mate to Jorg, a Crakairian male.
When Jorg decides to initiate contact a little early, the two have a lot of fun.
And when Lily is taken, Jorg is on hand to rescue her.

The background story in the series is heating up. Another race has developed an interest in the human women, wanting to sell them to others as breeders.
The romance occurs around that, while there are missing women out there, just waiting for help... which leaves a slight cliffhanger as far as that goes, but not as far as the main characters are concerned.

It’s an entertaining series, with laugh out loud moments of misunderstanding and protocol/cultural mishaps.
Read in order for maximum enjoyment.
Recommended for those who enjoy sci-fi alien romance.
