I started 2022 with a reading challenge for 52 Graphic Novels. Unfortunately, in early 2022 I was diagnosed with diabetes. I changed my reading challenge to tackle this new diagnosis. This is one of over 100+ books I read in 2022. These titles taught me about insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, Whole Foods living and nutrition. I was able to make the lifestyle changes needed to put my diabetes in remission and lower my BMI. I still have lots of work to do but I hope this list helps you get started on your health journey.

As I mentioned in a recent review, I was recently diagnosed with PCOS. For those who don’t know, PCOS has links to insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes. Because of that, after receiving my diagnosis, my doctor recommended I look into the insulin resistance diet. Luckily, my library had this book in the collection, and as soon as the person who had it checked out returned it, I was able to dig in. While I haven’t dug into any of the recipes from it yet, I am very excited to! Despite my interest in the recipes in this book, the beginning of the book rather soured my opinion... Very Informative

This book takes the guess work out of learning, living and planning for a life with insulin resistance. Easy to understand. Very straightforward. Highly recommend.

It's a very basic guide for insulin resistance, 200 pages were of recipes.

Lots of outdated advice, and focused more on weight loss by any means necessary, rather than blood sugar balance. Would not recommend.
