He’s an ex-con who just wants to be left alone. She's stranded in the middle of a blizzard—a broken soul… an invitation to danger.

Photographer by day, Ben and Jerry’s enthusiast by night, Louise Sloane isn’t known for her organizational skills or obsession to detail. But when someone from her past goes missing, she makes it her mission to solve the case—especially when the mystery becomes linked to the notorious serial killer, the String Strangler. During one of the worst snowstorms on record, Louise sets off to the small Southern town of Berry Springs, bulldozing her way not only into the investigation, but also into the home of a reclusive former inmate with eyes as cold as ice.

Ryder’s one goal in life is to be left alone. A desire unacknowledged by the five-foot-two-inch train wreck who breaks into his house in the middle of the night. He wants nothing to do with her and all her curves—until she uncovers his secrets and unearths a link to the past that changed his life forever.

As boundaries are shattered and relationships are questioned, a body is found on Ryder’s land, and it becomes apparent that the killer is closer than anyone realized. With his freedom on the line, Ryder must risk going back to prison or losing Louise forever.

Yikes! What a creepy & sad beginning. An 18yr old has been missing for approximately 2 weeks and no one has heard a word. She supposedly was meeting a new male “friend.” As the temperature drops and it begins to snow, a disheartened search begins.

FMC/Louise Sloane was a mentor for the lost teenager and feeling that nobody cares, demands a full investigation of her disappearance. Louise grabs a few locals, rushes to the small town of Berry Springs where Kara was last seen and forces her presence into the search. Louise is only too aware that over the past decade, a serial killer has killed five young women in the area. Ex-con Ryder Jagger/MMC lives alone in the woods of Berry Springs and has for the past 12 yrs. He values his privacy. During the search for Kara, a local snowstorm hits Berry Springs. The search is halted and while Louise is attempting to drive to her night lodgings, her car slips into a ditch and pops a tire. Never one to sit still for long, Louise grabs her belongings and stumbles up the mountain searching for the nearest home. An hour or more of freezing second-thoughts brings Louise to Ryder’s massive and empty home. At which point her crazy adventure begins.

I loved the snappy dialogue between the impulsive, stout and gentle hearted Louise and Ryder, the dark loner. RYDER was quick moving and kept me riveted and flipping pages well into the evening, stopping only after 2am knowing I had work the next morning. I really liked the characters, cared what happened to them, and the conclusion of their story brought satisfaction. I highly recommend RYDER to readers of contemporary suspense romance, fast moving mysteries, and to those who enjoy the Danger/Proximity trope with HEAs. Although I have purchased and much enjoyed the books in Amanda McKinney’s BERRY SPRINGS series, I have not read the previous books in this series - PHOENIX/#1 or JAGGER/#2 - I look forward to reading them soon. RYDER can be read as a standalone title and has no cliffhangers.

READER CAUTION -
Violence - Yes. This is a serial killer mystery with brief descriptions of 2 raped/murdered victims which, while kept fairly brief, may be possible triggers for some readers.
Profanity - Yes. Strong language is used.
Sexual situations - Yes. A friendship/relationship develops between the 2 main characters with a brief intimacy scene at 3/4. This could easily be skipped without missing any of the story. Otherwise brief kissing.

Not recommended for readers preferring Clean fiction.

I received a complimentary (advanced) copy. All thoughts expressed in this review are my own.

Ryder is the third book in the Steele Shadows Investigations Series which is a spin off to the Steele Shadows Security series. I think this one can be read fine as a standalone. This book is heavier on the suspense and I freaking LOVED it. It starts off with bang and truly doesn't let up until the end.

Louise was such a beautiful soul, I loved how compassionate she was, understanding and truly vulnerable. Ryder was such a grump, but Louise was able to knock all his walls down and under all that was an amazing man that just had a lot of issues to resolve. I loved how their relationship blossomed and grew. They both grew as characters and together. Their chemistry and fun banter was a nice add on to darker themes in the book.

Now for the plot. Mckinney is truly a BEAST at doing her research. Everything is so detailed regarding the medical examiner, what she's doing, why this why that, I truly commend that in a book. I love when real facts are stated it makes for such a great reading experience. Beginning to end non-stop suspense, edge of my seat, absolutely loved it, fave of the series hands down!

🎧 The narration by Jack Calihan & Stephanie Nemeth-Parker was really good. We do get more of the female POV in this book, but Stephanie nails it. She's amazing with her voice and portraying the emotions. Now when Jack came on and did Ryder's voice was so ruff and rugged I loved it!!! Truly a great performance.

✨️ Thank you to @amandamckinney for my gifted audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

A story that is heartbreaking, has betrayal and twists and a woman with determination to find the person behind the murder of her friend.

Ryder lives a very quiet life. He likes his house minimal, clean, and quiet, so when he finds an intruder in the middle of the night, his world will be turned upside down and sideways by one small woman. He has no idea what is in store for him when he allows Louise to stay with him because she can’t find a room anywhere in the vicinity.

Louise is a quirky woman that has no path in life except for her photography business. She loves to take pictures, and she’s good at it, but she isn’t really happy with her life. She is disorganized, loyal, and determined. When a friend comes up missing, Louise organizes a search for the young woman and when the local authorities deem her friend to be less important than a local, Louise is determined to find her friend and get justice for her, she has no concept of the danger she could be in while doing this. When she stumbles upon and breaks into a house sitting on the hill on a large piece of land in the middle of the night, she finds herself in a cold, dark, minimal house.

I loved this story. It has so much in it. A quirky woman, a man that has been shunned by his town, danger, twists, betrayal, and suspense. It is full of action, and great characters. Louise is a woman on a mission and has no sense of the danger she has put herself in on more than one occasion, Ryder is a man who has lost so much already and just wants to live his life in peace and quiet, but that won’t be possible once he finds Louise. These two are complete opposites, but they are great together. I give this story a 5-star review and whole heartedly recommend it to readers that enjoy suspense, danger, investigators, quirky women and twists in their stories. This was my first read of the Steel Shadows Investigations series, but not my last for sure. I love Ms. McKinney’s books and she did not disappoint in this one.

Berry Springs is some town! It may be small but it's chockful with adventure, action, danger, and romance! Berry Springs, where the men are sexy and protective to the core should be the new town motto!

Ryder could be mistaken for a bad guy but once his story unfolds you just realise that the man has layers, each locked down securely that he doesn't want anyone to breach. Lou, however, did not get that memo. She is everything that Ryder needs to unlock his heart.

They both have issues and hurdles to overcome and I loved finding out why Ryder's home was the way it was. Ryder may be badass and protective to the core but he does NOT know how to handle a woman like Lou. She is full of sass and independence but she is also vulnerable and that sets all his triggers alight. As much as he wants solace, he wants Lou safe more.

There are twists and turns and the final baddie reveal, WTF, I did not see that coming. Be prepared to meet Ryder's secret squirrel spy/agent former colleagues. They are all kinds of interesting. Gimme more pls!

A brilliant murder mystery with a dash of romance. The mains were so well fleshed out, I felt all they went through. I don't think there could be two more polar opposites than Louise and Ryder. The storyline of who done it will keep you guessing throughout. A true page turner, this kept me riveted until the last holy sh*t, I did NOT see that coming. I never, ever know what will be revealed until Ms McKinney is ready to divulge it. The delightful ending let me do my happy sigh of relief, but I will need a day or so to come back from Berry Springs into reality. Gripping read!

I don't know how she does it.. she keeps writing these amazing books that I can't put down. Is there an end to her creativity and writing passion?? I certainly hope not!!

This book keeps you guessing until the very end. I had some suspicions but she still got me!!
Louise goes to Berry Springs to find a friend who has gone missing. She gets in a wreck and her car is toast, so she finds a close house and breaks in thinking it is vacant. The resident Ryder is not happy about the situation as he is trying to keep away from people and drama. She ends up becoming friends with Ryder and finds out what happened to her friend.

Great story, twists and turns in every direction and she once again hooked me from the beginning. If you have not discovered Amanda McKinney yet, get to it!!

This is the second book in the series but they do not need to be read in order. Ryder is an ex-con living a quiet life and just wants to be left alone. Louise’s friend is missing and she is investing what happened to her and trying to find her after the cops aren’t much help. She ends up breaking into Ryder’s house and soon sparks are flying between these opposites. Fast-paced read with lots of drama, suspense and steam. Great characters with lots of depth, a story with lots of twists and turns. Overall an entertaining read.

Definitely a book that will keep you turning the pages until the end. A romantic mystery you'll not want to miss.
Louise will do anything she can to find out what happened to her friend Kara, even if it means being stranded with ex-con Ryder. The pair are complete opposites. As they get to know each other and reveal their pasts, you can see that sometimes opposites attract.
I had a love/hate relationship with Louise at first but grew to like her the more I read. Ryder was a sexy mystery and very intriguing.
I thought I knew who the suspect was but this book will keep you hanging on, drip feeding clues right to the very end.

Ryder doesn't like people around. 10 years in a prison will do that to a man. But when girls start being found, strangled with a wire or a thin string, his past makes him a suspect. Being a recluse, and not very social, he became the number 1 suspect in the String Murders. Louise was helping in a search for another missing teen similar to the ones who had been murdered. In a snow storm, her car broke down and she ended up at Ryder's house, looking for a bit of help. Ryder did not want her around, so he was not exactly friendly and outgoing towards her. This story is how their relationship changed during that severe snow storm and during the following days as they got to know each other reluctantly. Excellent descriptive play by play of their relationship changes made over a relatively short time passage. I loved the interplay between them and being a party to their changing feelings. Great thriller with a little romance thrown in just to make it more interesting. Loved it.

Oh my word, I loved this book! Not only because of the brooding Alpha male himself but for Lou and her funny, snarky unapologetic ways. I laughed so much through this book and I wasn't expecting it, especially having known some of Ryder's background from Jagger. Amanda's books keep getting better and better, a definite must read!

Amanda McKinney takes us back to Berry Springs, a small town riddled with mystery, action, romance, and a whole lot of sexy alpha ness!!!
The story of Ryder the broody sexy recluse and Lou the sassy, independent and slightly vulnerable heroine had me completely spellbound as I devoured this story from the first page until the very last word.
Ryder and Lou's story is a delicious slow burn riddled with murder, suspense, intrigue, action, witty banter, chemistry, romance and twists and turns you will NOT see coming.
Not only did this story break and warm my heart but it had me trying to play detective as I sat on the edge of my seat desperately wanting a strong drink to calm the nerves as I waited with baited breath wondering how the story would unfold.
Ryder is a MUST READ addition to the page turning, consuming, and addictive Steele Shadows Series!!!!

Ryder is the second book in Steele Shadows Investigations series by Amanda McKinney. I’m repeating myself but Amanda has once again outdone herself with this story. We finally got to get into the mind of an elusive ex-con, Ryder, Jagger’s brother. I knew his story would take me on an emotional roller-coaster ride but at the same time Ryder’s story was so much more than his past and being an ex-con. This was completely brilliant, compelling, raw, breathtaking, at times heartbreaking story which I devoured in one sitting. One of the talents that the author possesses is the knowledge how to develop, create the storyline and make you fall in love with her words, plot and the characters demanding your attention from start to finish. Though, it is majorly written in Louise POV, which I loved, the lack of Ryder’s POV on certain things didn’t diminish my enjoyment in any way. I loved that there was still a mystery and enigma around Ryder and his personality. The characters are complex and resilient; the plot is strong with unpredictable twists and turns that will keep you guessing the whole time. It was enjoyable, steamy, dark, suspenseful, heartfelt and heartbreaking read with such cleverly and brilliantly written plot twist(s).

Ryder and Louise were amazing characters and really great together. Their first meeting didn’t go well due to circumstances and situation. Their timing might be a little off because they both have so much going on and they are focused on different things: Ryder on starting anew, leaving his past behind; Louise wanted to solve the murder mystery. When they are together everything just makes sense; they are just perfect for each other and exactly what the other needs. I loved that their love story began in such unconventional way. Ryder and Lou are instantly attracted and drawn to each other. He can’t explain what exactly is about her that gets to him. All he wants is to be left alone, to enjoy his freedom and wallow in past. I loved their off the charts chemistry and how patient he was with her. They never supposed to fall in love. I think they take each other by surprise because neither of them expected to meet and that that meeting would change their lives forever. They are effortless and familiar; passionate and intense, breathtaking, heartbreaking, fiery and incredible! I think that they are balancing each other. I loved how they blossomed and thrived even though life had thrown them quite a few obstacles. They are each other’s match. I love their moments, dialogues and banter; how gradually they let each other in and began to trust each other. They simply understand each other. Maybe they don’t make sense but the more they spend time together – the more they get to know each other and let each other in. In order to heal and move on from the scars of their past, they need to confront their past and baggage. The ending was just beautiful. I wanted to last forever and to never let go of these amazing characters and world. Can we have a novella with them, please?

INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL AND HEARTBREAKING! It kept my attention at all times and I could not put it down. With an effortless writing, awe-inspiring details, and a journey of revenge, forgiveness, love, secrets, mystery, self-discovery, the author takes us on an emotional and beautiful journey of the characters and their struggles. I highly recommend this book, whole series and cannot wait to see what Amanda has up her sleeve with her next book.

““You are, Louise Sloane, the most mesmerizingly beautiful disaster of a woman I’ve ever met in my life.”

<><> Story Overview <><>
The book blurb explains it well. Nothing I need to add here.

<><> Characters <><>
Hero: Ryder Jagger; Age: mid 30’s, I think; Occupation: nothing right now, but used to be part of an organization that hunted down and killed terrorists

* The following words/phrases were used to describe Hero: a problem solver, has quiet confidence, always in control, gets the job done, takes pride in doing manual labor, shunned, lonely, intense, tries to keep everyone out, a born leader, stoic, lives off the land, recluse, antisocial hermit, minimalist, a hell of a cook, wealthy, doesn’t trust anyone, nothing he can’t handle on his own, a broken man, a lost soul

Heroine: Louise Sloane ; Age: 31; Occupation: owns her own photography business - Sloane’s Stills

* The following words/phrases were used to describe Heroine: made a career out of capturing beauty in unexpected places, doesn’t always use good sense, has a hard time letting things go, bullheaded, steadfast, not good with awkward silences, terrified of horses, not coordinated, never thinks things through, impulsive, living paycheck to paycheck, wants more out of life but doesn’t know what, stuck in a rut

<><> A Few Thoughts <><>
^^ ~ the beginning is rough. A woman being raped and murdered. If this is not some thing you can read,, you can skip the first chapter and the story will still make sense

^^ ~ I thought they had some good banter

^^ ~ the story moves along at a good pace. I never got bored.

^^ ~ I was curious why Ryder didn’t reach out to his detective brother (from the previous book in the series). That would’ve made more sense than going to the dickwad police officer that didn’t like him.

^^ ~ Louise ticked me off when she left. I’m sure it was a plot move to get her alone, but it just made her look really selfish and I didn’t like that about her.

^^ ~ the killer was a little obvious, as there were only so many characters to pick from. But I still thought there was a good twist.

<><> The Basics <><>

I received a free ARC copy in exchange for my honest review. This is my own opinion and was not influenced by anyone.

This book needs to be added to a Must Read List for anyone who loves a great thriller, suspense romance. Amanda McKinney could give lessons in great story development. Take one impetuous woman, Louise Sloane, looking into a friend's murder, add in one silent, brooding man, Ryder, built like a tree with a mysterious, haunted past, blend with one impending storm of the century blizzard and you get one well written romance with mystery and thrills. I couldn't put it down.

Ryder is book two in the Steele Shadows Investigations series. It is a standalone story with Ryder being the brother of Max Jagger, from book one. Ryder is a large, mysterious man of very few words. He lives a self sustaining life in his cabin on his land in the middle on nowhere. He plans his life to the minute to allow for no surprises. Emotions led to Ryder murdering a man and going to prison for ten years.

Louise Sloane is a photographer. She lives her life by the seat of her pants. A friend often now missing, Louise vows to find out what happened to her and won't stop until she knows. Her plans include searching unfamiliar woods and mountains alone and driving around in a blustery blinding snow storm in a truck that is barely road worthy.

Louise and Ryder are opposites but bring a brightness to the other. Amanda McKinney's details are what makes her characters. Louise drives an old truck with a broken visor that hangs down, wears flip-flops in the snow until one breaks and is just a flop, lives on the junk food in her backpack and has duct tape holding her boots together but yet sees the beauty in broken things which she captures in her photographs. Ryder having been in a federal prison cell now has 400 acres of land, mansion of a cabin, most rooms being open and empty, and a fridge full of organic food from his farm. His comforts are his King sized bed with down comforter, claw foot tub in the master bath and a library with shelves from floor to ceilings stuffed with books. These details reveal so much about our characters.

This book will capture your attention and hold it. I dare you to put it down before the end. Ryder is a great addition to the series and ends well with a happily ever after. If the rating would allow it, I would give this book 10 stars.

Ryder by Amanda McKinney is part of the Steel Shadows Security Series. This book follows the series about the Steele brother, but in no way do the books need to be read in a particular order. This one, like the first is a romantic thriller with a psychopath looming over the story line.

Louise is looking for a friend - one she was a mentor for a couple of years ago, but is now missing. Louise is afraid that people will not really look for her after all she is nothing by another stray girl gone wrong. However, Louise has other problems like her inability to find her way out of a paper bag or a small mountain town. She somehow managed to get lost during a snowstorm in the middle of nowhere. She decides to strike out on her own, only to find a house, but nothing is as it seems after that.

Ryder, the main male character is not a likeable character at the beginning of the story. He is quite angry, standoffish and difficult, until he ends up having to help her. Together he helps her find some answers, but she continues to push until… well… did I mention there is a psychopath looming…

I enjoyed the storyline and once I learned Ryder’s story, I found him an interesting character and a positive influence for Louise and she for him. I liked how complicated the characters were and how that added to the story elements. I also liked how Louise stood up for Ryder against the rudeness of the town's people. Ryder is another good, thrilling read by Amanda McKinney.

There's so much that is awesome about this book. I was so looking forward to it and it did not disappoint. Both Jagger and Ryder are standing out in the way they are written, compared to Amanda's other books. Addressing different psychological challenges and therefore a lot more intense. Which I find fascinating and very intriguing. She just keeps raising the bar with every new series. One of my all time favourite parts in Amanda's books in general and again in this one is her way of painting a both breath taking and at the same time haunting picture of the nature in Berry Springs. Ryder and Louise are complex and complicated characters. Ryder is deliciously mysterious, brooding and definitely needs to come over and clean my house. Louise is awkward, precious and just hilarious. The story has so many emotional parts, so many psychological hurdles the characters, especially Ryder, struggle with and have to overcome, it's just perfect with the - let's call it "comic relief". And it's not just funny, it's smart and witty and just wonderful. Then there is this creepy serial killer going around, that is going to give you goose bumps and cold sweats. The reveal was a surprise for me and the truly triumphant ending was not quite what I expected either but it made sense and it is simply perfect for the characters. Definitely a must read!

Want to read about a man who just wants peace, quiet, and to be left alone, but has his life invaded upon by a zany woman driven to find answers regarding a teenage friend, who is missing and possibly a victim of a serial killer? Well then this book, Ryder by Amanda McKinney, will give you that and so much more with action, drama, mystery, romance, suspense, and even wicked weather to deal with. While reading Ryder, I was pulled into the story as if I was there. In the early chapters of the story I had a feeling of who the killer might be. Throughout the book there were so many twists and turns, it still kept me guessing if my idea of who the killer was, would still be correct. I kept the pages turning one after the other while looking for more clues as I enjoyed reading the story. Near the end of the book, when the killer exposes himself, I mentally made a fist pump since I had guessed correctly of who the killer was. I felt as if I had solved this girl's murder, along with other murders committed by this killer. Now as I thought to myself, the Berry Springs Police Department owed me big time.

I really enjoyed reading this story. I have read many others by this author and liked them all. I give my recommendation for this book, Ryder, and also those in the Steele Shadows Security series. I want to acknowledge that I received an ARC from the author in turn for my honest review and now you have it.

Ryder killed a man! He paid his dues by spending 10 years in prison! He returned to Berry Springs but is a recluse and spends all his time on his ranch with his horses. He hates to be around people and especially does not want any unwelcome visitors in his home!

Louise Sloane is a photographer who has come to Berry Springs searching for a missing teenager she had been mentoring. She is not happy in the way the local police are investigating the case and so takes it upon herself to solve it.

During one of the most severe snow storms in history, Louise finds herself stranded in the middle of nowhere and breaks in to what appears to be an abandoned ranch only to come in contact with the cold steel of the barrel of a gun. Ryder's gun!

With the case leading to one of the most notorious serial killers, and Louise stumbling on the real past of her reluctant host. Is she really safe, especially when a body is found on Ryder's land and it is obvious that the murderer is closer than she thinks. But how close?!?

What starts off as clearly a hate relationship definitely burns slowly into more as walls and boundaries come falling down between them. But will it all be for nothing with Ryder's freedom on the line when he risks going back to prison all for this women who has bombarded her way into his home and heart.

Amanda has outdone herself with this book. It is full of suspense, intrigue and plot twists that you definitely will not see. Just when to think you have it worked out you will be thrown for a loop when reality hits you. A must read with a very Happy Ever After.

I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving this review

I loved this read. I have enjoyed all the books from Berry Springs. This story is about Ryder and Lou. I love Ryder’s grumpy personality. It amazes me that throughout a murder investigation that love can blossom but Amanda mixes the two together and always comes up with magic. I do enjoy the thriller of a murder mystery and the sweetness of a love story. Lou and Ryder make a perfect match and compliment each other. Each being slightly different that you wouldn’t at first think they’d make a good couple as they both had pasts and issues to overcome and once you got to know each it became clear why Ryder acted the way he did. I also love Lou’s character, her independent nature that could be sweet or kick your butt. Ryder’s need to protect her at all costs was endearing and made the read that much more satisfying but this is a thriller too, so there were times I almost held my breath being the sensitive reader that but the twists and turns were compelling and I read this book in 2 days. An unexpected surprise was perfect for the story. The whole story was captivating - a rollercoaster ride. Looking forward to the next. I voluntarily received an arc copy of the book from the author and purchased a copy as well.

Another awesome romantic murder mystery that will keep you up all night.
Loved this book!!! Love Ryder. I was hooked from beginning to end.
Ryder has command presence, a powerful and conflicted character. Louise was a walking talking liability, and a strong and sassy heroine.
They made for a great combination when you have a hermit, she was just what Ryder needed to pull himself out of his hole and back into the real world. The story was well done with a good plot and writing that flowed well. I loved the inner dialogue of the characters and how the author gets into their heads.

There was suspense, plenty of tension, some funny stuff, and a slow build romance with descriptions that were just right to give the reader a sense of the setting and characters. It kept me guessing to the end.
Strong stand alone story with a HEA and some graphic sexual content, looking forward to the next awesome read from Amanda McKinney.

McKinney has done a great job weaving the murder mystery plot with the romance story in a way that kept me invested in both all throughout. TW for sexual assault and murder. The first chapter is jarring and rough, so be prepared for that. I also spent the first couple of chapters a little confused/overwhelmed with all the characters being thrown at us at once. But once Louise strikes out on her own into the winter storm the narrowed focus does her voice best.

The banter between Louise and Ryder alone is enough for me to recommend this book to anyone who loves a romance with plenty of sparks and chemistry. Louise is kind of a hot mess and it makes her voice so endearing and humorous to read. I really enjoyed being inside her narrative and her personality definitely shines. I definitely believed that she was the right person to bring out Ryder's character transformation. The insta-love and was a bit much, but overall a great read.

Folks, you aren't going to want to miss this one!! That translates into Ryder is a one sit read, once you sit down and start the book, you won't be going anywhere until the end. Amanda McKinney has provided readers with a well-written book populated with phenomenal characters. Louise is trying to find the teenage girl that she mentored. Then she's determined to find who killed her. Ryders has served time and is on parole, trying to stay away from people and out of trouble. Ryder and Louise's story is packed with drama, humor, spice, action and suspense. I loved every page of this book and will now be tapping my foot waiting for my next Amanda McKinney book. Ryder is book 2 of the Steele Shadows Investigations Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

On the edge!
Louise and Ryder are completely different personalities yet they make a terrific team. Louise is a photographer, but becomes an amateur detective when she learns that Kara was reported missing. She sets out for Berry Springs immediately upon learning that her disappearance is possibly linked to the String Strangler, a notorious killer. After the search she ends up getting stuck in the snow after learning that the room she’d reserved was given away because she was late checking in. Seeking shelter she starts driving only to get stuck in the snow. After walking for a while seeking shelter, she spots a huge house and breaks into it for shelter. Of course the house belongs to Ryder, who finds her asleep by the door the next morning. They end up teaming up after he gets over her intrusion. Thus their search begins and so does the excitement. Be prepared for a surprising finale.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
