"I'll do anything to make sure she's safe. Even from me."
Naomi: All my life, I've been protected. First by my older brother, and now by a crew of women on a strange alien planet who insist on protecting my virtue. Who cares about virtue? I have to make the most of this situation, and if that means shacking up with a big blue guy, I'm not opposed. So when I find that the very alien who I'm convinced is my mate has gone off on a reckless mission, I risk it all to bring him back myself.
Gar: Anger doesn't even begin to describe how I feel when a fragile female puts herself in harm's way for me. And not just any female--of course she's the one I can't resist. But I don't deserve her, and I'll never bind her to my doomed destiny. Except now she's in danger, and if it's the last thing I do in my cursed life, I'll make sure she's safe. Even from me.
The Alien's Savior is a full-length Sci-Fi Romance novel featuring a brave heroine who thinks the stigma around the Big V is dumb, and a tortured hero who wants what he thinks he can't have.
These are too short to really make for satisfying romances. Not just based on page length, but because it feels like the two characters are already in love with each other before the story has even started. So the book is less a love story and more a story about a couple solving some problems together.
Gar and Naomi are not my favorite couple of the bunch. Gar is really tortured, to the point where he attempts suicide several times. Naomi's sweet innocence, of course, fixes him.
I'm probably not in the right mood for fluff right now because everything about that sweet and tropey premise just had me like
The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 💙💚💜❤️ Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📔 World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎 Character development: 😤😠🙃😘🥰 Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙 Narration Type: Dual Narration
The heroine:Naomi - She was 5’1” tall and worked construction for her families business. After being abducted from Earth, and brought to an alien planet to be used as a breeder, she was rescued along with a group of human females by the Night Kings, a group of Drixonian warriors. Naomi has had a bit of a crush on Gar, though he kept his distance from her.
The Hero:Gar - We saw him in previous books as an exceptional Drixonian warrior and the best hunter of the Night Kings. He also has no intention of finding his mate from the human women they have rescued. He is a grumpy mountain of a man, but he was also very protective of the human females. He always acted strange around Naomi and rarely looked at her or spoke to her.
The Story: Gar feels that he is not worthy of Naomi, though he basically stalks her since she is so beautiful to him and the one thing he wanted most in the world. Though he doesn’t want her to ever see the flecked up stuff in his head. He wanted to keep her away from his darkness. It didn’t help matters when his feet carried him to her window each morning, to look upon her and torture himself by watching what he wouldn’t allow himself to have.
I liked Gar from the previous books. He is so grouchy and growly but he was nice to Miranda from The Alien’s Revenge. I love that he has a dark side and he is still an honorable Drixonian warrior. This book took a bit of a turn from the plots of the previous books in that the Drixonian’s found out at the end of the last book that some of their race whom they thought had been killed in the war with the Uldani, were in fact alive and had been sold to other alien races by the Uldani. So another war is imminent. I liked this plot and where it took both Gar and Naomi after she hid in the compartment on his bike when he left on a clandestine mission outside the walls.
Like the previous books in this series, this one was told in both main characters points of view via dual narration. The narrators again were Jeffrey Kafer and Heather Costa who both do a good job. Jeffrey Kafer seemed to have a much deeper voice in this book, which I really enjoyed and it fit the grumpy Gar very well.
Currently re-reading this one for our July 2025 LBR, with my group: Midnight's Embrace
Update: 9/3/2021.. So upon my re-read of this one, I'm happy to report, what I was missing the first time around, was added to this story. It was way more intense, more time with Gar & Naomi, and the ending felt organic and in time with their story. So I bumped this one to 5 stars
*Sighs* I loved this one. I really did, Gar and Naomi are great together, and their story was intense. Sweet and heartfelt.
I liked how this one served as moving the secondary plot forward with new revelations, some of those heartbreaking, and the opportunity of coming together with the other Clavas' with new tools they need to end this war.
I only wish I had more time with Gar & Naomi. Felt this time was cut short. It ended too quickly and with how intense Gar is about his Naomi, I was honestly hoping for a few more intense couplings and heartfelt confessions between these two. Hence the 4.5 rating.
Now I'm sad because I've flown through this series so fast, that I now have to wait until Sept 25th before I have book 6, Xavy & Tabitha's story..
So Based on books 0.5-5, I would HIGHLY recommend this series..
This one was my favorite so far. Gar was such a grumpy tortured soul. He was willing to give his life so his family and Naomi could be safe. I'm so glad Naomi got loud and pushy showing him it was okay to let go of the past and live....and that is was okay to love and be loved. 💖🥰
Ok! I this one has some stuff I like! A extra damaged virgin hero. He is scarred and broken and grumpy and pushes people away… just like I love them. He is also a peeping Tom. Love that. Love the reveal of that! And he came in his pants making out. Like a good virgin should.😝
Of course I love our heroine because it takes a specific kind of chick to deal with these super damaged grumpy dudes. And she fits the bill.
Still don’t like these virgins lasting forever with amazing control but.. what r u gonna do!?
Liked the plot and story too although the relationship is the majority of the book. The overarching story line is secondary. I also liked that they spend more time on the relationship than they did on the fighting and violence. These books tend to be heavy on the “action”. This one was heavy on the… getting this messed up dude to open up.
Virgin rating: Innocence of virgin hero: 3/5 Innocence in losing it: 4/5 Build up to losing it: 5/5 Hotness of losing it: 4/5 Busted touching himself: mmm… kinda POV of losing it: male and female
The Good: The overarching storyline is expanding and I am very intrigued to see where it goes. The romance is still entertaining, and while the device Ms. Maven uses to bring out the "loks" that bind isn't necessarily my fave, I appreciate that it's different and makes this series stand out.
The Bad: Gar's waffling, even when I know why he does it, was frustrating. I know the tendency is to give the hero all the breaks in the world, but he's lucky it was Naomi who loved him, because he would've driven me nuts.
The Bottom Line: I still enjoyed the romance and the development in the overarching storyline of the series, so I'm sticking with this crazy train, see where it leads. If you love alien sci-fi romances, I'd recommend the series.
Another great book in this series! This one also advanced the concurrent storyline running through the series. They Drixonian's are getting closer to war with the Uldani and getting back to their own planet and rescuing their brethren who were sold during the Uprising.
This book is about Gar and Naomi. Naomi is the "quiet" one, the innocent one, the one all the girls look after. She has wanted Gar from the first but Gar has scars on the inside and not just the outside so he keeps Naomi at 10-foot length. Until Naomi hides in his bike pack and goes with him on his suicide mission. Then he has no choice but to protect Naomi and finally let down the walls and pain he's had around him.
It was sexy times and sweet times. As well as funny times with the other warriors. When Naomi gets back they can't understand this change that's come over her as she demands they help her save Gar. It's quite entertaining. These books do give me a good laugh and again with the family enjoyment with this group of aliens.
Random Thoughts:
💛 The talk between the mated males about their pregnant mates. Hilarious! 💘 "Well, we can get started now,” Daz said in a dry tone as he gave me a displeased look for my tardiness. “As always, we’ll begin with an update on our females. My Fra-kee is very round. I told her that, and she didn’t speak to me for half of a rotation, so I suggest to the rest of you with pregnant mates not to call them round.”
“Noted,” Ward said solemnly. “Reba cries a lot.”
Daz sighed heavily. “The tears. I strongly dislike the tears.”
“I’d rather Val be mad at me,” Sax said. “Because I can usually turn Val’s anger into naked time in our furs.”
“I’m jealous of your talent,” Ward grouched. “Reba’s anger always ends in tears, so I have to deal with both.
💛 It was the "My Fran-kee is very round. I told her that," that did me in. 😂
💙 Lawd, the first time Gar shows his oral appreciation to Naomi is smokin!!!
💙 I was like, "Well, hello..."
💙 He legit calls it his buffet. LOL
💙 They are so loving with each other.
💙 Makes my heart melt.
💛 The convo between Miranda and Drak when Naomi, with her face covered, tells Miranda to have her mate put on some pants. 😂
"I choose you now. I choose you in my next life. I will always choose you, Naomi."
5 stars!
I know I say this with every book of this series, but this is my favorite of the series so far! Gar and Naomi's story contained so many of my favorite tropes, and Ella managed to write them in a way that I found irresistible and absolutely brilliant. Gar was such a broken hero, but he was still so protective and vulnerable with his chosen mate. Naomi was such a secret powerhouse, and I freaking loved her for it! She wasn't the typical shy virgin, and I absolutely loved when she came out of her shell and let her personality and temper shine. The romance between Gar and Naomi was one of my absolute favorites, and I swear I will be rereading this story again and again. I cannot wait for more from this series and author!🖤
Tropes: fated mates, tortured hero, innocent heroine, alien abduction, 'you deserve better than me' vibes, grumpy/sunshine, protector hero, hero-on-a-suicide-mission, secret pining, alien romance, size difference, 'touch her and die' vibes, band of brothers, found family, STEAMY🔥
These blue boys really know how to make a gal swoon *fans self* 💙
I feel bad giving this one 4 stars when the entire series was on track for being a 5 star series, but this one just did not hold my attention as much as the previous ones. I think part of it was just how much more sad/heavy this one was, which was for the most part well written, but the switch from “I won’t ever be blessed with a mate” to “idc if you’re my Cora eternal, I choose you” was… idk. Less believable than it could’ve been?
Gar has a major death wish, and I mean that as in actually suicidal in a reckless throwing himself into danger/harms way all the time kind of way, because he’s consumed by survivors guilt and PTSD. And he keeps Naomi at arms length for almost half the book because of this and the belief that he doesn’t deserve/won’t get a cora eternal and then after they are intimate & she breaks down because he pushes her away emotionally he caves and is 100% all in. It was just too much of a change too suddenly. And I think the author knew that because Gar later goes back on it saying he’d rather die protecting her than anything happen to her or the others (and it feels like the author was trying to course correct) but at that point it was too in line with their creed & even the leader praised him for his actions that it felt less like course correction and more just how they are. Idk if that makes sense, I’m trying not to be too spoilery. It was just too much of a sudden change.
This one was also much more “I’m gonna put a baby in you” than the rest of them were. It was mutual/consented, I just could do without it and I liked that the other books were very much “I’ll love you regardless of if you want kits or not” and “there’s no rush” and then epilogue things happened.
All the good points from the rest of the series still stands though; I love the Drixonian way & the way they value females. The spicy stuff was great, the romance was sweet. The supporting characters were awesome as always. And we’re finally seeing over-arching plot acceleration.
This one was intense. I really liked the action sequences in this one. It has me eager to see how all of these new reveals will help in this series final conclusion for this species.
Very interesting story, and of course the love and the fucking was hot here as well.
Maven tickles me in some ways, and makes me nuts in others.
She writes about love languages. Tickles me. She makes Naomi a 5'1, tiny, freckled female construction team leader. What the farts?!?!? She names the hero Gar (warrior/fighter). Tickles me. But then every other minute she uses the phrase 'eyes roll back in her head'. (((sigh.)))
In this book, she redeems herself after two really lacking efforts. I loved books one and two. Books three and four made me irritable... but book five is almost ALL amazing.
Gar is the grinch of the Draxonians. If his brother was the grump, he was five times worse. ((Which isn't hard, since Ward was *supposed* to be the grump, but Maven didn't follow thru. Whatever.)) Gar is suicidal, dark, emotionally tortured, and has a deeply buried thing for Naomi.
Naomi likes Gar. She's the puppy bouncing around his feet that he kicks and makes yelp, but she's back for more. It's almost toxic. She's also the tiniest to his biggest, freckled to his badly scarred, and best loved to his most reserved in the clavas.
When Gar sets off on a one-way mission to blow himself and a huge underground bad guy base up, Naomi stows away and tags along. Gar deliberately gets captured and brought into the base, and Naomi thinks she has to rescue him... botching up the plans. Except that she finds one of the Drix ships thought destroyed by the bad guys. With that, all plans change.
THIS. This excitement of escaping, stealing the ship, evading baddies... THIS is what's fun and thrilling. THIS is what made me love the first two. THIS was nearly a return to it. Except:
1. That poor control panel. Was anyone else worried about ship damage? Who has slamming, screaming, dripping sex all over a CONTROL PANEL in THE only surviving Drixonian ship?!?!? 2. If she's 5'1 and he's bigger than the gargantuan Drix warriors, HOW the hell is he having sexual penetration AND managing to kiss her way-down-there-somewhere breasts? Asking for friend. 3. You're telling me they have space-age capabilities, but no metal detectors that could locate a cloaked ship? I find it hard to believe the bad guys couldn't pick up its location with tech. It's a little out of the realm of reality, there...
I dunno. Maybe I'm too technically minded, r'something. But MOSTLY I absolutely did enjoy this one. Thank goodness - I was half afraid we were on a downward spiral, after the last two!
Very up and down and all over the place and place I mean head space. Gar has had sooo beryllium much happen to him that he can’t and won’t accept that any but death is for him. But so much happens just read it. Also some very interesting steam scenes.
I am loving the heck out of this series!! “She is all” needs to be the motto for everyone :) ****** Overall Rating: 5 this series just gets better Stars Kindle Unlimited: Yes Standalone: Yes Steam: 4 tongue pierced flames! ****** This series just keeps getting better. The suspense, steam, characters. I am DIGGING on some Drixonian Warriors! But Gar.... OMG... That poor alien, I just wanted to wrap him up in all kinds of hugs! I have been waiting for his book and FINALLY... it is here, and it was better than I expected! Naomi has a secret too...she likes GAR, even though he rebuffs all her attempts to engage with and talk to him. Turns out she is pretty stealthy too...because one morning when she notices Gar acting strangely, she stows away on his bike to try to figure out what he is doing. Oh Gar, you big dummy! Gar is about to make a very reckless decision, and thankfully Naomi is strong, fearless, and determined not to let Gar make a serious mistake. She is going to save him from himself (and maybe a few other perilous obstacles)! I am not giving anymore away, but I will say this book was fantastic! Things are heating up between the Drixonian’s and the Uldani...
"Hug your females tight, brothers. War is coming."
The storyline is getting intense, the steam is hot, and the characters fantastic and now I cannot wait for Xavy and Tabitha's story...the little teaser was enough to have me counting down the days until its release. If you want a unique alien romance where the men cherish their woman and put them above all. This is for you! I loved this book and this series has been awesome! I give it all my recommendations.
Loved Gar & Naomi's story! Gar's pain over losing his sister cut me DEEP, man. I was so happy to see him finally get his HEA. <3
I have to take a star because off
There are a few inconsistencies and editing mistakes in these books but I've learned to overlook them for the overall enjoyment of the series, which is very high indeed! I can forgive most things for the sole fact that these books are fun and steamy and addictive as hell.

I really, really love this series and I am so happy Gar finally got his HEA. I thought the overall story line was great and I'm really liking how this conflict with the other aliens is shaping up
Gar was growly and grumpy and wounded just like we all knew he was but getting to see his marshmallow center was pure perfection. Once his walls finally came down seeing him love Naomi fully was everything I wanted and more
I know Naomi is the youngest human and often referred to as "sweet and innocent" but I was hoping for a little bit more from her. Her childish behavior frustrated me at times but I still do think she is absolutely the perfect match for Gar. She loved him unconditionally and always stood by his side
At first I was super annoyed with this one. Why did he have to be such an arsehole to her? Why can’t he just listen to her. And understand that she’s the one for him. But I’ve come to terms that it won’t be an exciting book if all the men were big, devoted, soft-hearted, protective, and super in love. Someone’s gotta give. You know?
Gar and Naomi - grumpy boy with guilt and shy girl. It was enjoyable to see Naomi come into her own as Gar grapples with his past and beliefs about duty. As always, this had a fun sense of adventure, heartfelt moments, and some good laughs. More discoveries are uncovered regarding the Drix and their enemies - I'm seriously invested in this overarching plot.
I was so excited for Gar's book but this was the worst! I almost dnfed this, and I ended up skimming so much that I just really didn't care at the end what happened to them. The plot was just ridiculous in this one, and it felt stretched out unnecessarily, maybe because of Gar's whining. Such a shame because this had so much potential to be amazing.
