Succulents appear in myriad shapes, colors, and textures and are some of the easiest plants to care for (less water is more!). In this step-by-step guide, adapted from The Plant Recipe Book, author Baylor Chapman shows us how to choose among these beauties to create arrangements and tiny terrariums like a Desert View, which includes burro’s tails and zebra plants, or the Zen Garden, with rabbit ear cacti, pincushion cacti, and a little Morgan’s Beauty.
Baylor Chapman is the founder and principle designer of Lila B. Design, a green-certified business in San Francisco. She first learned to garden on a farm in Illinois and has since expanded her gardening chops working in environments from the arid mountains of New Mexico to the golden hills of California. She has been a professional floral and garden designer since 2001. Her designs has been featured in Sunset magazine and on PBS, as well as in Banana Republic and Restoration Hardware stores. Baylor spends her days knee-deep in flowers, translating ideas into tangible designs and scouring nurseries for new plant varieties to play with.
I am always interested in learning more about keeping my houseplants healthy, sure they cost enough so don't want them dying on me!
I liked this book. It is well laid out, easily read and had good information/pictures that match the subject throughout. I would recommend this book for people who are beginners or they kill every plant that comes into their house.
