Grumpy Unicorn returns in his first graphic novel! He's out in the world and ready to straight up not have a good time in this hilarious collection of comic stories.
Grumpy Unicorn is bored. Really bored. And what's a Unicorn to do when the town he lives in has nothing fun to do? Hit the road in search of adventure, of course! In this laugh-out-loud original story, everyone's favorite magical grouch sets off to find something or someone that doesn't totally annoy him. And sort of succeeds. With new characters like Sassy the Sasquatch, Jack the Jackelope, and some out-of-this-world friends, this hilarious journey is a must-have for fans of Grumpy Why Me?

The grumpy Unicorn is out for an adventure, bored out of his daily routine of doing nothing, he hits for a road trip. Despite his best efforts, Grumpy endures many mishaps along the way: falling for roadside attractions, forced to pull an all-nighter, have a fight with the tent, even getting abducted for probing by aliens! Along the way, he befriends some strange fellows: a jackelope and a sasquatch. Though his grumpy attitude is indifferent to them, they found him quite the pleasant company. And in the end, after an exhaustive trip to return home, his new friends tag along for a visit and the unicorn even smiles for once.
With many humors and snark muddled around each page, I am sure kids will enjoy a grumpy unicorn's adventure where things just don't go right, but can also go a lot better than expected.
"Grumpy" hit's the road because there's nothing else to do. He travels far and wide and meets some new unexpected friends along the way. Definitely made my day more enjoyable after reading it.
Grumpy Unicorn's schedule is wide open and with nothing to do at home, he heads out on a road-trip to find adventure. He finds lots of tourist attractions, problems...and a couple of good friends. So cute and pretty funny.
This was hilarious! I loved this Grumpy Unicorn book. In his travels, he meets some new friends and has new fun experiences with them. And it's not a true road trip if you don't bump into some diner and space weirdos lol. If you've ever been on a road trip his experience will seem familiar and funny. I can't wait to read his next adventure. Also, I'm pretty sure this is my favorite book of 2021.
Grumpy unicorn is bored. He decides his only option is to go on a road trip in search of adventure (and maybe some peace and quiet). But no matter how far into the wilderness grumpy unicorn goes, new critters seem to want to be his friend.
A cute story filled with lots of laughs and humor and many mythical creatures (sasquatch, jackalope, Chupacabra). While I sort of wish grumpy unicorn was a bit more grumpy, this is an excellent graphic novel for beginning readers and fans of those shorter books like Narwhal and Jelly or perhaps even Bad Guys.
Was flipping through the Scholastic flier (as you do when you have two kids in elementary school) and couldn't resist the concept of a book about a grumpy unicorn. Had to convince the 7 year old he should pick it up but, once he did, he couldn't put it down. Some of the humor is clearly targeted at the grownups (what kid has heard of a jackalope?), but there's plenty in there for the kids too.
I just happened to be checking the book cart at work when I came across this diamond in the rough. It was so funny and I could not put it down. But I had to because I was at work. However, it was worth the wait. Very relatable to children and adults. We all have had those days when we feel grumpy for one reason or another. Grumpy is no exception, its his name after all. In this volume he goes on a road trip, since he had nothing better to do. Along the was he has some adventures and meets some unlikely creatures who he finds have more in common with him, which buds a friendship that he didn't know was missing. I will be picking up the next one.
This is a scream. I have completely read these out of order but I think this and Grumpy Unicorn Saves the World: A Graphic Novel (2) are my favourites. I wish Grump had stop at the caves though and I laughed to hard at the forbidden forest.
Miss 7 enjoyed grumpy unicorn going on vacation and learning that sometimes it's okay to not be alone.
Miss 7 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.
Loved every panel and page of this book! Grumpy’s hijinks and shenanigans made me yearn for the road, the unexpected twists, the kitschy tourist traps, and to make friends with surprisingly kind (except- gotta watch out for that chupacabra!) cryptids, too.
My 6 year old bought this at the book fair and she really picked a winner! This was very cute, had a lot of jokes that my daughters and I audibly laughed at, and lots of onomotopeia which is always fun in a kids book. The overall message is one of friendship and adventure that I really enjoyed.
Grumpy Unicorn may look grumpy, but deep down, he's kind of a softy. This book is hilarious! I loved tagging along for all of Grumpy's summer adventures...or misadventures, as the case may be. Definitely will check out other books in this series.
A short journey that follows with the title. There's some interesting things that happen along the way (as expected in a story about unicorns). It's, for sure, best read with children, but I feel like the ending could have been more compelling.
Grumpy Unicorn goes on an adventure and even feels some pleasant emotions when he meets some other mythical creatures who add some friendship to his solitary life.
