The Translator's Notes series of translation helps was developed by SIL primarily for translators who speak English as a second language, especially those who are translating the Bible into their own languages. It aims to provide careful discussion of exegetical and translation issues, in non-technical English.


The purpose of this series is to help

understand the overall message of each book in the Bible understand how the different parts of the book fit together understand in detail the meaning of the original text be aware of parts of the text that can be difficult to translate consider other translators' suggestions about how to express the meaning of the text
