Ghost detective Jude Byrne is having the time of his life as a new husband and father. Lost in the shuffle of dirty diapers and late-night feedings is Cope’s birthday. Struggling to find a present for his husband, Jude is drawn to an antique, manual typewriter.
Unbeknownst to Jude, psychic Copeland Forbes has been planning to write his memoir. Eager to get started, Cope writes until he falls asleep. He’s woken by the click of the keys and a page full of song lyrics Cope knows he didn’t type.
When the typewriter continues to write, even with no one sitting at the keys, Cope realizes there must be a ghost in the machine. One who only uses hymn lyrics to communicate. Over time, the shy spirit begins to reveal clues to a powerful enemy lurking in Salem.
Will Jude and Cope solve the mystery of the ghost writer or will the evil consume them?
Sick of the slogging rat-race of her 9-5 job, Pandora Pine put pen to paper (literally!) to make her ambition of becoming a romance novelist a reality. She cut her teeth in the dog-eat-dog world of fanfiction, still dreaming of the day when she would be a published author. She lives in Massachusetts with her blabbermouth muse who’ s a fan of middle of the night plot twists.
In her spare time, Pandora fancies herself an amateur nature photographer. She enjoys mucking around in swamps, hiking through the woods and crawling around on her hands and knees in her backyard seeking out the perfect shot. Pandora is a fan of roadside seafood shacks and always thinks Mexican food is a good idea at the time.
Some of Pandora’s favorite things are chocolate, writing longhand with purple pens and handsome men falling in love with each other.

It's just Jude's luck that a surprise gift for Cope turns out to be haunted. I remember all too well learning how to type on a manual typewriter, I'm not sure if I have the finger strength to do it now. But I tell you what, if it would have continued typing after I was finished and walking away, I would have never returned to that room. Anyway, Cope is struggling, like so many parents do, with going back to work and leaving Wolf. I remember that time & it is a very real struggle. We also have a very uncharacteristic behavior from Everly, she wants nothing to do with Jude, which was heartbreaking, but she wants nothing to do with Ronan and that shredded my heart. We also have their investigation of a possible haunted home & when they go & meet with the husband, I know he was a POS right off the bat. He wants them to prove that the house is not haunted & that his wife is crazy. We learn about how people who were attracted to the same sex were treated in the past & it was heartbreaking. These stories are scary because things can turn on a dime and real injuries are possible.

Another fantastic addition to the Haunted Souls series. As such, it is not a standalone and you need to read the previous books in this series. I love the premise behind this book for Jude and Cope. Once again, our guys find themselves embroiled in another mystery of epic proportions. As usual, Pandora excels at the worldbuilding and character development in this story. I do love a good mystery. Jude has found what he thinks is the perfect birthday gift for Cope. An antique typewriter to help Cope write his memoirs. But as so perfectly crafted by Pandora, this is no ordinary typewriter. Everyone seems to be feeling the effects of the typewriter from baby Wolf to Cope to Everly and Aurora. Underlying is Cope’s return to work and leaving Wolf in daycare and all the feelings that involves. To help Cope, adjust back into work life, Jude finds – what he thinks is a simple case, another haunted house in Salem – to dip their toes in the water. Our guys discover that the typewriter is capable of typing all on its own and that leads to more discoveries that could impact the “simple” case they are working on from the magick shop. As with all the books in this and the Cold Case series, I love the challenge to figure out “who dunit” before the end of the book. But this one had me stymied from the beginning and I did not see how this one ended, coming. Will our guys find out who is haunting the typewriter? How is it connected to their current case? Will their case just be a simple haunting or will there be far reaching repercussions? Well fans of Pandora Pine and the Haunted Souls series, you will have to pick this book up and find out.
Fans of this series have come such a long way with Jude and Copeland. Two men who have such different backgrounds and experiences work so well together as a couple and you continue to feel the strong love and connection that they share. Even better with Ghost Writer is the new addition of Wolf to their family. Fatherhood is such a big deal to them both and it's interesting how they are both dealing with it in general as well as having to return to work and the normal childhood milestones that they will have. In this story, more so than others, I felt a real sense of fear and dread at the unknown as this typewriter starts to type with no one using it but what boosts that feeling is that Copeland gets no sense of the supernatural from it. Having it in the same home as their son boosts that fear level up as well, for both men. I think this is definitely one of the darker plots of the series so far with what the ghosts reveal and have experienced in their history. Really brought tears to my eyes as Pandora brings to light the struggles that they went through as Copeland and Jude interact with and investigate their story. This plot really takes a toll on the couple but especially Copeland as it messes with his abilities. Jude is so supportive of his husband in everything and I love how in tune they are with each other, not afraid to poke fun to try and raise their spirits and definitely go to the naughty side when it comes to celebrating a birthday. The whole Haunted Souls/Cold Case Psychic again come together in the good and bad times to share their love and support with each other. The babies are really starting to show their own personalities, especially Everly and I can't wait to see how she grows up! Another book from Pandora Pine that I cannot recommend enough. Admittedly, I had to turn the light back on when I was reading towards the end, you know.....just in case. I was really drawn into the mystery from the first moment something felt off with the typewriter and I will always love reading about this group of characters. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
Eight books into the Haunted Souls series and Cope and Jude are back to solve another mystery that had me wondering just where Pandora Pine would take me this time. There is always a roller coaster in trying to solve the author's books and I can truly say, I was entertained. Salem was a town with history, and when an occupant of the Beecher House came to the men for help, Cope and Jude had no idea just how close to home this case would hit.
"Did we somehow invite this spirit into our lives?"~ Cope
Months after they brought baby Wolf home, Cope and Jude were finally settling into family life. But as it always is, the hardship of separation hit Cope on his first day back to work. plus, he had an experience that would keep him awake for days in order to solve it.
Jude was wondering now if his birthday present to his husband had been a curse, rather than a gift.
One typewriter was bought with love for his husband's birthday, to start him on his journey. Little did Jude know that that one purchase would change the course of everyone's lives forever. The mystery of the Beecher House and who was haunting the typewriter was a case that took almost everyone to solve. It was good to be back in the men's lives and have their friends join in the solving of yet another puzzle.
A good story and I am waiting for more to come.
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
I did enjoy this story and overall found it entertaining, but for some reason the middle of the story felt a little slow compared to other Pandora stories. That didn't take away from my enjoyment though and I found I was glued to the story from the beginning to the very end. The ending was great and I loved finding out the mystery behind the Ghost Writer and the Beecher House. The Beecher house mystery was a good one. This story has a bit of humor, intrigue, and of course mystery.
I really love Jude and Cope together and the trust they show one another. The gang from West Side Magick popped up here and there, which I always love when they do, and even the kiddos which played a small part in the mystery.
Ghost Writer, the 8th installment in the Haunted Souls series, starts with Jude buying Copeland an antique typewriter for his birthday. Meanwhile Cope is struggling with the thought of returning to work after paternity leave and considering writing his memoirs. What follows is an emotionally charged case that deeply affects both men. Naturally, they face their challenges head on, supported by their band of brothers (it's always so good to get even the smallest Ronan and/or Fitzgibbon fix. 😊).
I really like the insights into the characters' backgrounds that we always get with Pandora Pine books. Over the course of Jude and Cope's work on this case, both men reflect on their experiences growing up: they are from very different environments with very different patriarchal/matriarchal figures who react very differently to significant milestones and events in Jude and Cope's youth. As MCs go, I love these guys. We get to see the constant strength of their relationship and how they are growing as parents themselves. They have such an innate goodness, but they definitely have their boundaries tested by the malevolent force they are investigating here.
One of my favourite aspects of character growth, though - in this series and in the Cold Case Psychic books - is watching the children grow and their personalities (and powers) develop on the page. Although they are still babies, their love for each other is clear, as is Everly's protective nature...so darn sweet!
Overall, Ghost Writer is every bit as amazing as the previous books in the Haunted Souls series. It's pacy in all the right places and richly descriptive with an excellent plot. Fair warning, though, the main theme of the investigation is not an easy one to read. Aside from Jude and Cope being, well, Jude and Cope, there's menace around every corner, ghostly happenings and witchy activity enough to satisfy any PNR fan. In short, it's business as usual in Salem...5*.

This is, unsurprisingly, amazing! I love Jude and Cope, and their growth together over the last books makes me fall in love with them more each time. They are dads now, so their lives have changed, but they are still the loving, amazing, fantastic Jude and Cope that I have fallen for. This story had a great plot and was really intriguing. As is typical for this whole world, a simple gift turns out not to be so simple. I loved the whole thing. Can't wait for more. This still ranks up there as one of my most favorite series (along with CCP, of course).

One of my favorite things about series, and this one even more than some, is the sense of continuation and life you get. Yes, there is more going on OF COURSE. But the sense of family/found family and seeing the glimpses and progressions of everyone's lives just enhances it so much for me, and Ronan and Everly are favorites so loved Everly's moments here especially. Overall though, I love that you can rely on getting a great story, great connections and emotions in these books. Yes, you probably can predict there is going to be a paranormal mystery element, varying degrees of danger, and a resolution, but you never know just how it's all going to happen, how it plays out, and all the feels it will invoke. It's both a comfort to know the overall premise and that I'm going to enjoy it, but it also keeps it fresh and interesting since the actual events and details are always different. A must for long series and excellently done by this author.
I love Jude and Cope (how couldn't I!), and seeing them continue to grow in their relationship, and as fathers (love little Wolf) is amazing. They have such a great connection, in action, and in perfectly steamy moments as well. And their dialogue and thoughts always show their depth of caring as well as humor, and of course advancing the story too.
Overall, a great read and perfect addition to the series and CCP universe. I recommend them all!
I love to read books in a series because they give you a chance to submerse yourself in a world designed by the author, it gives the books a sense of familiarity that builds a connection to the people and events. I always enjoy Jude and Cope’s adventures. This one was no exception. My favorite thing about this series is the engaging ghost mystery woven into the story of Jude and Cope’s ever evolving relationship. For me, this book had a noticeably heavier feel to it—the subject matter demanded it, but I wasn’t prepared for the serious topic when I sat down to read this book.
It was great to see the guys from the West Side Magic Shop (Cold Case Psychic series) chipping in to help with the Ghost Writer and Beecher House mysteries. There were several twists and turns that kept the story engaging as it progressed to a final encounter between good and evil. Another great installment of the Haunted Souls series.

Jude and Copeland are dads now, and I love seeing their precious interaction with their baby boy Wolf. Cope struggles to go back to work after staying home with the baby, and the first case he and Jude take on makes them both uncomfortable. Meanwhile, Jude has given Cope an antique typewriter for his birthday, and strange things start happening in their home. How could a spirit be tied to the typewriter without Copeland being able to read him or her? This is a great installment in the series, and as always I love seeing the chosen family members and appreciate the support they always show each other. Jude has turned into such a good husband and father, and he and Cope are so sweet together. Seeing the love the babies have for each other makes me smile. The spirit tied to the typewriter is heartbreaking, and I want to hug him. This author always provides a sad and creepy ghost story combined with the humor and love of family, as well as partners who are absolutely devoted to each other. I love this series and all the connected books. I'm already looking forward to the next story with this awesome cast of characters. Love them!
Pandora Pine's Ghost Writer is a stellar addition to her Haunted Souls series.
Having more of Jude and Cope is enough to keep me intrigued. Dear lord, these two are full of banter, humor, and sex. I love every damn moment with them. Their relationship continues to grow and every step of their journey is superb.
This story starts with them and a haunted typewriter. The resulting mystery is fascinating, and went into some serious issues. Let's just say that these serious issues are ones that personally anger me a lot, so I definitely enjoyed this story. The author spares no expense with the emotions involved and does justice to the issue.
I love Jude and Cope, their friends and the kids. Every moment spent with them is fabulous, and this one is a perfect addition to their journey. Their relationship is amazing, and the addition of Wolf just adds a whole new level to their fun.
Ghost Writer is a fantastic story, as are all of the Haunted Souls books. I can't recommend them all enough.
This is another amazing addition to the Haunted Souls series and I loved it. Ghost Writer is well written, sweet, intense, gritty, has several surprising twists, I love how Cope and Jude's relationship continues to evolve with every book, the storyline is intriguing and as always the characters are wonderful. Jude and Cope are settled with their son Wolf and Cope is returning to work. When Jude gives Cope a lovely present it backfires and they have an unusual spirit in their home and he is proving very difficult to communicate with as well as having both of them fear for their little family's safety. They also have an interesting case that they are working on that seems to be fairly straightforward until it isn't. It will take everyone pitching in to get to the bottom of both mysteries and I love all of the twists and turns along the way. The cute babies, great secondary characters and wonderful ending make this story one of my favorites in this series so far and I can't wait to find out what happens next.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Cope and Jude always find a way to put me through an emotional rollercoaster, and they did it again. I felt so bad for Cope having to go back to work after spending months at home with their new son, Wolf. Cope's struggles to not feel like a bad father and luckily Jude is always there for him being supportive and his normal charmingly perfect self. Also, the mystery in this one starting with the typewriter typing on its own is so creepy, I loved it! It hooked me immediately and I think the fear element was successfully heightened by Cope not getting anything from it, and having it anywhere near their son. Feeling their way through fatherhood brings out the emotions in this case, and it's just so wholesome to see their relationship with not only each other, but with their found family as well, continuing to grow in strength. These guys are always there for each other and I feel like I can count on them to make my heart happy. Can't wait for more!
Wow, what a story! I was glued to my kindle all day. An antique typewriter that has a cry for help was a wonderful plot twist. A binding spell and black magic with sadism and torture cannot stand agains the power of White magic and love. I so enjoyed this story and found myself totally enthralled with the story-line. I so enjoy Jude and Cope and now the have Wolf, just so much love and fun. It was wonderful to see everyone pull together to solve this tragic story and to find a way to find resolution. The writing was great and the story flowed well.
Jude and Cope are just dynamic, steamy, sweet, intense and so wonderful together. I just love how Jude will do anything to make Cope smile.
This is book eight of the Haunted Souls series and is best read in order. The character development is so worth the reading.
I was gifted this book from the autor and i freely give my honest opinion and review.
Pleasurable Writing. In this continuing saga of Private Investigator Jude Byrne and Witch/ Medium Copeland Forbes' lives together, we get some of the more hilarious scenes of this spinoff series (and arguably even the entire connected universe) and ever more harrowing threats. And seriously, the truly hilarious scene is one of the more explicit scenes, involving a particular toy used to great effect both comedically and sexually. The investigation this time is excellent, and the threat a very sad reminder of America's not-so-distant past. At this point in the series, I can't recommend starting the series here - but I can say without hesitation that if you begin with Haunted Souls #1 you will enjoy the progression when you get here. Very much recommended.
Another great installment of The Haunted Souls series. This is a spin off that focuses on Jude and Cope’s paranormal investigations. So of course Jude gets Cope a haunted type writer for his birthday and the story develops from there. As per usual, there’s suspense, action, family, romance and more. I love seeing characters from The Cold Case Psychic series enmeshed in the spin off.
Pandora weaves a tale that involves so many emotions for me. I just want to hug the poor spirit stuck in the type writer. This story is well written, emotional, heart breaking and highly entertaining. Any book written by Pandora is an automatic buy for me.
Ghost detective Jude Byrne's birthday gift for new husband psychic Copeland Forbes comes with something extra. The antique typewriter has a ghost in the machine who communicates through typing hymn lyrics.
At the same time the pair have a haunting and a husband with an ugly plot. But as time goes by and Jude and Cope learn more from the ghost and their investigations they begin to think there is a powerful enemy lurking in Salem. An enemy whos evil threatens to consume them?
A creepy Free Kindle Unlimited tale with a back story that made me cry. With Jude, Cope and the gang facing disaster.
Jude and Cope are back for an all new adventure and a chilling case. Cope is celebrating his birthday and Jude has gotten him a gift that has a special meaning to Cope...unfortunately the gift comes with a surprise tag along. As Jude and Cope start on a quest to unravel a mystery at home, they embark on a new case at West Side Magick. The two must work tirelessly to solve the mystery to keep their family safe as well as find justice for the work related case. So join Cope, Jude, Wolf and the rest of the family as they attempt to solve two mysteries.
Jude, Cope and the team from West Side Magick are back to solve another engaging ghostly mystery with lots of plot twists, turns and intrigue to keep you flipping the pages. Cleverly weaved into this are moments of utter sadness, shining happiness, enduring love and a beautiful future. This well paced, well written story had my emotions going back and forth, ending with a huge smile on my face. The chosen family pop in and out, we get to enjoy some baby birthday parties while Jude and Cope discover the joys of The Backdoor Boogie!
Jude and Cope are at it again and just as amazing as ever! Jude’s birthday present for Cope came with a couple of tag along spirits, both good and evil. While trying to solve a mysterious spirit at a neighboring house, they realize the birthday present and house haunting are related. This was an extremely emotional case for Jude and Cope but through it all they grew better together as husbands, as parents to sweet Wolf, and as family to their chosen loved ones. Many emotions were felt while reading this and I loved seeing Little Miss Everly being all protective over her little friends. Great story!!
Another winner. Loved this story and only a few minutes in and the hairs on the back of my neck were standing up👻 I also loved that most of the family made an appearance, although what has happened to the lovely Greeley he has not been mentioned in the last couple of books? So glad that my favourite Bertha made it into this book although not as much as I would have liked. I always look forward to the next PP book and then when I get to the end there is always a sense of sadness. Ready for the next book on Ronan and Ten now😂
Celebrating Cope's birthday, Jude gives him an old fashioned typewriter. At first, Cope doesn't notice anything connected to the typewriter until things start to happen. Between his adjusting to going back to work after spending time at home with Wolfe (absolutely adorable), Cope is feeling out of sorts. Once it's discovered that there is something attached to the typewriter, Jude and Cope begin to investigate and discover the horrors connected to the typewriter.
Somehow, these books just keep getting better and I don't know how as they are all incredible!
*WARNING* intended for mature audiences So, starting with the ending....I have to say that I'm super excited to see what's to come with these babies! That being said, thus case had me flustered. I had no idea who the baddie was! This story has so many plots twists that it's impossible to put down the character, Jude who is my personal favorite, has had an immense amount of character development from the first time he was introduced up to now. These book can be read as stand alones, however you'll see so much more character development if you read them in order.
Ghost Writer is wonderful addition to the Haunted Souls by Pandora Pine. Jude and Copeland are having to deal with another poltergeist mystery. The book is emotional, mysterious, well-written, action pack, and their love for each is still growing strong. It was great seeing Wolf, Everly, and all their friends from the previous books. The book will have you on the edge of seat and I will be forever stalking Facebook and Amazon for any new books by this author.
I had a strong sense of Die Hard 2 while reading this book. Imagine Holly (Cope) saying to John (Jude) in complete exasperation. “ Why is this always happening to us?” A roller coaster of evil spirit and many innocent victims across different venues, A very human bad guy and an intense investigation. Home doesn’t feel safe. The kids just get cuter and cuter, Everley will be force to reckon with as soon as she can string a full sentence. All in all, A Ripping Good Yarn from Salem.
Jude and Cope are at it again and I couldn't be happier to read about it! I love getting to revisit with one of my favorite couples. As usual there is mystery, intrigue and a haunting to be found. Following along on their adventures never gets old! I love the dynamics and connection these two have and they only grow closer as time goes by. It's an added treat to get to have visits from other favorite characters! What a great addition to the Haunted Souls series!
Another fantastic story in this spectacular series. I love seeing Jude and Cope as dads and to see the continuing progression of their relationship. Of course, there's another ghostly mystery to solve in this one which is very intriguing, especially since the ghost is in a typewriter!! Another spectacular one with adventure, mystery and romance all rolled into one great story. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I must start by saying that I love visiting with this cast of characters. They are so real. They are the friends that you wish you could have in real life. I think that the beginning of this story is so perfectly scary creepy. I liked the atmosphere of the scene. I love Cope and Jude and little Wolf. The story was intense with both sad and terrifying moments. I was at the edge of my seat at several points. I highly recommend this story to escape the world.
I really enjoyed this one and loved getting to visit with Jude and Cope and their new don Wolf. Pandora ups the creep factor with this story and I loved the twisted past of the typewriter and all the spirit linked to it. The underlying darkness is pure evil and this story showcases just how powerful Cope is (at the end). Never mess with a Legacy witch! As always I love seeing the whole gang and see the babies all grow is beautiful. I love this chosen family and always ready for more stories from this world!
Ghost Writer by Pandora Pine is the eighth book on the Haunted Souls series. This is a fantastic paranormal m/m romance with suspense, mystery, humor, spirits and family. It is well written, filled with fascinating characters and an intriguing story. Jude and Copeland are back and I couldnt be happier with the newest haunting adventure.
