Evangeline Kelly is the pen name I use to write contemporary Christian romance books. When I was a kid, I had two dreams. One was to work with at risk youth and the other was to write books. After pursuing my passion of working with foster children for over twenty years, I finally decided to pursue my childhood dream of writing.

I love a good book that draws you in and takes hold of your heart. When I write, I hope to show real life situations people go through and how God uses those situations to draw us closer to Himself.

I’ve witnessed suffering in my line of work, but I’ve also witnessed God’s redeeming love. A good Christian romance features both hardship and delight. My hope is that my stories not only entertain, but encourage, and most of all, that they bring glory and honor to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I've read almost all of the Blind Date Disaster books and have to say, hands down, this is my favorite!

This book is full of misunderstandings and reconciliations. I loved diving in further to Maya and Easton's story. They've known each other for many years. Not really friends but just minor acquaintances. Maya and Easton's sister are best friends. I loved her scheming and matchmaking with these two. They thought they were being set up on a blind date with someone else but...surprise! Hahaha! I loved their first date. I was cringing and laughing throughout it. We get a couple flashbacks through Maya's POV of why there is some animosity between these two. And by the time we get to them having their blind date there's not a lot of explanation except Maya's anger and story.

I wasn't quite sure what I thought about Easton at first. But from his sister's insisting that he was good, and knowing he's the hero of our story, I held on knowing something good was coming. I just needed to be patient. And boy, oh boy, was my patience rewarded! Easton has some secrets of his own and when he levels with Maya and she with him, the tension between them that usually turns into fighting has a different outcome.

I really loved reading this story and thought this is one of the author's better stories. I've read many by her and have enjoyed them but this one is a clear winner for me as being my favorite book written by her. So, if you're looking for a sweet and swoony read I definitely recommend this second chance, best friend's brother, sweet romance.

Content: Clean. Some kisses and a couple mild innuendos. This is a Christian fiction novel so the characters do reference scriptures, mention God, praying and accepting Jesus into their hearts. I don't mind books with that in it, if it is too much, I just skim those parts. But if you're not a fan of that, heads up it is in this book. But even with it being in there, I really enjoyed this story.

I received a copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

Sweet read with some very serious situations.
The overall theme of the series seems to be fun with some deep overtones. I liked the fun and did laugh some but not as much as I would have liked!
Easton was selfish and self-pleasing. And he never had a relationship that lasted more than about 4 months. Just as soon as a woman wanted more, he'd turn on the porcupine quills and she'd run for the hills.
Maya was damage and believed no one would want her with her "medical baggage." I've never heard this term before. But I guess it made some sense.
When Maya needed a kidney transplant, Easton was there to "save the day." Only he couldn't. He wasn't a match. It took the knowledge that he was helpless for him to see he needed G-d in a new and real way!
This was another heavy read with some lightness sprinkled throughout. Not bad, just serious. I love to laugh and didn't get to very much with this one.

This was a sweet, heartwarming tale of love between Easton and Maya. Easton's initial arrogance and selfishness as well as his philandering are all overcome and redeemed by God's love and It was great to see him grow as a character and learn how to love and selflessly treat Maya. Maya was also a strong but kind and sweet character even if she was at times a bit insecure. The miscommunication trope was in this one but it didn't bother me too much. This was kind of one-sided enemies/friends to lovers and I really enjoyed the uniqueness of the book

Tropes:
friends to lovers
best friend's brother

Growth, Change, and Romance... The Best!

...My Billionaire Boss is the kind of enemies-to-lovers novel that even a reader bored with from romantic tropes can enjoy. Easton, the new owner of his father's billion-dollar business, is not as noble as his late father, and here's training for the Warrior Obstacle Race to run in his father's honor. The training and business leave no time for a committed relationship, and he's mostly fine with that. Some part of him wants more, though.

His younger sister, Carolyn, sets him up with her best friend, Maya, Wii he's hard Easton since high school, when he best up he prom date. The fact that holding a grudge for nearly 15 years doesn't strike her as excessive at all, so she resists Carolyn's efforts. Easton, who has had very different feelings for Maya in high school as well as since then, consents to the date and has little sister lets Maya think she's waiting for someone else. From that disaster of a blind date springs Easton's offer of a job to Maya. With a pre-existing health condition and a need for her benefits than her current employer can supply, Maya had to accept. So begins the rocky road to friendship and love...

Maya is from a strong Christian family and knows to that God with her health, but bringing Easton into her prayer life proves harder than she expected. Easton, in the other hand, walked away from the teachings of his family and religion, and he hasn't prayed in years. He suspects that might be a big part of the poor opinion he has of himself, so he tries to go back to church and is instantly convicted by a passage in Philippians 2 that encourages his readers go be unselfish and to consider others just as Christ did. He discovers that his recent selfishness has contributed to his distance from God and his inability to commit to a woman. He vows to change his heart and his ways. But will Maya, still bruised by his perceived bullying in high school, believe his changes are real?

Evangeline Kelly tends to take her characters on bumpy spiritual journeys. The pattern holds true in my Billionaire Boss, with Easton especially. Maya's journey is one of trust...in God and in the transformation of Easton. May's precarious health comes to a crisis point, and Easton's frustration at the apparent none answer he receives had him reexamining his motives. When he realizes he wanted an easy solution and to be in control of the situation, he depends and gets right with God before returning to Maya's hospital room.

My Billionaire Boss is a quick read... one that tempted me to read it over and over! It's not billed as a rom-com, but there are some funny moments in the break room at Maya's new workplace, and the truth behind Easton's "bullying" of Maya's prom date, while not laughable, is worth pondering. If a classmate is saying disparaging things about a girl you life, are you justified in giving him a black eye and making him promise to rescind his invitation? Maybe...

I liked this novel best of the five I've read in the Blind Date Disasters series. I am really hoping the rest of them live up to this one!

Maya Falls Hard

Maya Anderson has Kidney disease, but doesn't talk about it much, but a job with good health benefits is obviously quite important. Her job as in Human Resources needs to cut back her hours somewhat. She needs a better job, so asked her Mom and best friend Charlotte Easton to pray with her for that. In the meantime, Charlotte wants to set her up for a blind date since she hasn't been in a relationship for a long time. Albeit reluctantly, she finally agrees to meet the man at the restaurant. She tells Charlotte it better not be her brother because she can't stand him since he caused her to loose a date in high school. Charlotte knew that, so surely she wouldn't do that, would she?

Charlotte bugged her brother until he agreed to go on a blind date just to get his sister off his back about his lack of commitment. He had recently broken up with Lila who was well liked by both his Mom and his sister too. But he just wanted to have a good time with no strings attached. But then this blind date came along. Easton was there first and was beginning to think no one was going to show up. Then in walked the beautiful Maya who had piqued his interest in high school even though he was a couple of years older. Of course, he never told her. At the restaurant, when Maya realized that Easton was her blind date, she almost left. She was so angry with Charlotte! She decided to stay and eat, then never see him again except at something with Charlotte's family home. But she deserves answers for what happened in high school. However, they got very far into the evening, she got angry about something and she dumped her plate of food on his head and fled.

About a week later, she had a call from Easton. She only answered because she didn't recognize the phone number. Out of the blue, he offered her a job in the Human Resources department of his nonprofit. That would make him her boss. Not gonna happen in her lifetime. Well, that's exactly what happened anyway in a few more weeks. Without spilling more of a fantastic story, I will simply say that the spiritual emphasis in this book is really outstanding. I highly recommend it to you.

This is the (Christian) office romance you need to read.

When it comes to office romance novels, they're a dime a dozen. Too often the trope is vulgar, yet Evangeline Kelly's take on it is surprisingly sweet & wholesome. Plus there's enemies-to-lovers, being friend-zoned, crushing on the best friend's brother vibes... Basically, this book has what I love of those tropes. (This of course is in addition to the ones mentioned in the title.)

I'm at a tie between this one and Billionaire Single Dad being my favourite in the series thus far. Like her other books, there's quite a bit a scripture and the spiritual conviction moments... BUT Evangeline Kelly does it right.
Easton's character arc is magnifique. *chef kiss*
I appreciate Lila wasn't an air-headed materialistic girl, and that Easton being a billionaire actually lived like a billionaire. He had more than one house, the jet, the fancy garden--his wealth was believable for being the third generation to inherit the wealth.

The face-painting scene had to have been the most adorable scene. Love. Love. LOVE!!!
If the series continues, you can bet I'll read it.

I have read and loved every book in the Blind Date Disasters series, but this was by far my favorite book from Evangeline Kelly. Easton is a somewhat heartharded, goal oriented man who has rarely had any time for anything outside of work, has secretly had a crush on his sister's best friend Maya since childhood yet tormented her. Maya is a kindhearted woman with a strong faith in Christ. Easton and Maya are two complete opposites and yet are able to work through their own false opinions of the other to find not only friendship but something more special. Easton goes through the most change when he allows the love of Christ into his heart, he's open to love and he begins to change the way he treats people and perspective on life also begins to change. Maya although strong in her faith, that strong faith is tested when an illness from her past comes back with a vengeance. Now Maya must decide to hold onto the love she's always yearned for or let him go. Blind Date with My Billionaire Boss is an uplifting story of faith, love, belief in Christ and His miracles, and family. A captivating story readers will fall in love with.

What a Lovely Read

I do enjoy this series and have followed them with interest. This story was endearing in that Maya and rich friend Charlotte have been friends for years despite the difference in social standing. Although Charlotte's interfering was irritating to me at times, it did work out in the end so all was well.
Maya was in need of a better job and benefits, and so accepted a job at Charlotte's brother's billion dollar company, Maya was not totally thrilled with the prospect as she and Charlotte's brother Easton had a history ill feelings towards one another, but appearances can be deceptive. It was true that Easton came across as an uncaring and arrogant young man but as far as Maya was concerned he was 'putty' in her hands. The misunderstandings and work colleagues who were pleasant enough but their nosiness would have driven me to distraction, were all tolerated by Maya, but when Easton needed to act and show his true feelings he was there and it was endearing.
I would thoroughly recommend this lovely sweet read.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. The story involves a young woman, Charlotte, setting her brother, Easton, up on a blind date (truly blind no details). Maya, Easton's blind date, is actually Charlotte's best friend. Maya and Easton actually have history from high school. Maya actually needs a better job that comes with good health insurance. Easton hires Maya and then the tale gets interesting. Easton helps Maya as a friend but grows to really like Maya. Maya too seems to favor Easton's attention but has a problem with starting an office romance as she doesn't know the company's stand on office romances. The nice thing is that while there's an emphasis on the couple's faith it does not overpower the reader. This story was an easy, enjoyable read with a lot of information about people's actions in the past and dealing with medical issues. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

May induce heart warming!

I've really enjoyed Evangeline Kelly's Blind Date Disasters series, & this one is no exception.

While the plot held few surprises, it was still well done, fully engaging & quite entertaining. There were some redundancies & a few moments where skepticism gave pause, but they were effectively just minor side notes along the story's path. It's heart-warmingly good!

*Clean romance level: passionate kisses, some talk of a creep planning to take a girl's virginity & record it, but doesn't happen & there's nothing graphic

*Religion: "Jesus prayer" Christianity with several Scripture verses, a little preachy but it fit the story & none of it was controversial

Blind Date with my Billionaire Boss

This was a very exceptional story of how God can grant us many things. Maya had a lot of medical issues and needed a better job with better medical insurance. At age 16 she had been diagnosed with kidney failure and would need a kidney transplant in the future. Charlotte Maya's best friend mentioned to her brother Easton about Maya and he offered her a job. Maya and Easton became an item and Maya took sick and ended up in hospital waiting for a transplant. Easton got involved and things fell into place. This is my review and mine alone. I would recommend that people read this book it is a great book and many great points are involved with the story. High School Affects Her Memories

Why did Easton ruin Maya 's high school prom by giving Liam a black eye thus causing Liam to say he wouldn't be able to take her? That memory caused Maya grief in high school and even 10 years later. She was so affected by this that it was hard to trust Easton when he hired her as one of his employees. Easton was tormented by thoughts that he could never commit himself to a relationship except with his family. Evangeline Kelly has drawn in depth believable characters with challenging problems. Besides the emotional problems there are also spiritual challenges that the main characters face. Moving, but fun read.

Cute and clean

Another great addition to the series! I like that each story brings up different issues and how the couple handles them. I liked Maya and enjoyed her reaction to the blind date. Easton was wonderful as well. I enjoyed seeing his transformation throughout the story. The Bible references are a little confusing due to the translation the author chose to use, but that is minor. This book, like all in this series, are clean and sweet romances. It has been refreshing to read without seeing characters take God's name in vain!! I have recommended these books to my daughters. Off to start the next book!

This was a great book. I enjoyed reading about Maya's and Easton's relationship. Maya's best friend, who happens to be Easton's sister, set them up on a blind date that went horribly wrong. I'm sure there aren't many that would dump soup on a known billionaire, but Maya did. I loved the depth of Maya's relationship with God in the book. Easton had to learn what it meant to be a follower of Christ. This book was clean, sweet and filled with misunderstandings and secret crushes.
I received a copy of this book. This is my honest and voluntary review.

An enjoyable read.

I've enjoyed every Evangeline Kelly book I've read so far, and have liked the Blind Date series. Easton and Maya's story is no different. Their history added to their current-day interactions, and their disastrous blind date one of my favourites so far. Once Maya started working at the new job and they headed in the direction of friendship, the intensity of their interactions ratcheted... and those (sweet) heated moments were delicious. *fans herself*

A worthy read!

Clean and really Christian story

I loved the relationship between the H/h. They had real life struggles and honest relationships with God. I loved the strength Ms Kelly gave the characters while showing their dependence on God, even before the H, Easton, realized his initial acceptance of Christ as a teen had been to not be left out, not because of a real commitment. I liked how she wrote about his thought processes. I also liked how his real commitment to Christ changed his life.

Heartwarming

Maya hated Easton, her best friend's brother, because of a misunderstanding during her Sophomore year at High School. After a disastrous blind date with Easton years later, set up by said best friend, Maya determines to never deal with Easton again. Until he offers her a job. Their attraction can't be suppressed and despite reservations from both sides, the two can't help falling in love, but there is heartache around the corner. This heartwarming story certainly tugged at my heart strings. I especially liked Easton's character. I loved the faith element too.

Beautiful story.

This was a beautiful story. Both the main characters had issues and I enjoyed seeing the change take place in their lives as the story progressed. The sister was a lovely supporting character. Made more so because although she grew up wealthy, money was not her focus. The ending was very sweet
There are numerous Scriptures throughout the story but it never felt forced. The author also managed to clearly convey God's forgiveness and power to change a willing heart and life. I highly recommend this story to you.

I love books where the one you strongly dislike ends up being the one you love. Maya really does not like Easton and she thinks she has a good reason. Her bff is so funny - loved the blind date setup. Not only a romance but a story of realizing that you don't always have the whole story. The author did a great job of weaving her health issue with his struggle in his relationship with the Lord. Probably my favorite in this series - really liked Blind Date with a Billionaire Professor.

Wow, Just Wow

What a heartfelt Christian story of perseverance, hope, trust, and love. This book hit close to home as I am currently being tested to see if I am a kidney match for a close friend. The scriptures used in the story were on spot and perfect for healing, strength, believing in the word of God, and helping find one's inner purpose. Thank you for such a strong and powerful spiritual story.

This was a very interesting story.

This was about people who have known each other most of their lives. Two girls were best friends since grade school and the brother one of them. It was a complicated relationship and a lot the interaction was not easy to understand. It was captivating book I could not put down. Each person had changed through the years but it was not always known. It was a good journey and I learned a lot about how things better than one thought.

Hard to put down

Evangeline Kelly's are like a rich dessert that you don't want to walk away from. The H caused a ruckus in high school that hurt the h & she was incredibly angry with him for 10 years. Events occur & she is now working for him. Spiritual growth can bring new perspectives to what was once so clear with new facts that were once hidden. May we all strive to be open to God's plans for our lives.

Priorities

Maya needs good health benefits for possible issues in her future. Easton needs to keep training for a race that his now deceased father would have participated in and been proud of his son for. Easton's sister Charlotte takes action on her priorities. Making the Lord a priority in one's life is another event in this fun story with real-life issues tackled throughout. Excellent story with a happy ending.

Imperishable.
Beautiful story – romantic, emotional, inspirational, and funny too!
I could really relate to heroine. “God might shorten my life, but heaven was for eternity, and I could stand on that truth.”
The story “how a stone-cold man who didn’t understand commitment, changed into someone willing to sacrifice for the woman of his dreams.”

So good! Loved getting to know Maya and Easton. I laughed and felt anxious throughout this book. Loved watching Easton grow in his relationship with God as he was dealing with his guilt of his father's death. If you like clean inspirational stories, you will enjoy 'Blind Date with my Billionaire Boss'. I received this book from the publisher. The thoughts and comments are my own.

This is an emotional, funny and inspiring romance book with Easton and Maya. Maya is his sister's best friend who sets them up on a blind date which leads to her working for him and then a relationship. Loved to see how he grew in his faith and found forgiveness all the while working through to find a strong relationship with Maya.

Disappointed

Evidently, there was a shortage of proofreaders. Also, too many incidences where the reader had to be made aware of every item of food on the plate of the characters! Seriously??? Really became annoying after a short time. Probably won't be reading any more of her books. Not trying to be mean-- just my honest opinion.

I really hate it when a couple gets engaged and they express that they can't wait to get married, and they wait a year. A. YEAR!!!! To me, I don't think that really meant what they said.
Also. Maybe I'm wrong, but when Easton was reading his bible, I don't think he was convicted I think it's supposed to say convinced. It happened quite a few times.

Delightful read

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The story had enough turns and twists to keep me wondering how it was going to come together at the end. I loved the biblical truths that were intertwined into the story along with scripture. There were several scriptures I had to make a note of so I could go back and study them more. Looking forward to reading more of her books!
