The original Powertools crew is back in a brand new series!

Joe has it all--a gorgeous wife, two amazing children, four best friends who are also sometimes lovers, and a booming construction business. He never expected to face some sort of midlife crisis. But somehow, he finds himself longing for even more.

How can he tell his family and the rest of the crew that he wishes they could be closer to his Uncle Tom and the rest of the Hot Rods and Hot Rides gangs?

An emergency crew meeting turns into a steamy attempt to show Joe exactly what he’d be missing out on if he left the crew and their polyamourous lifestyle behind. Will it work? Will he listen to his heart or parts of him below the belt? Either way, he’s screwed.

This is a standalone book set in the Powertools universe. All your favorite Hot Rods and Hot Rides characters will be making appearances as well. Some come make new book boyfriends or hang out with old ones.

Ah man, as soon as I started reading Screwed, it felt like I’d gone back home to visit with old friends and I loved EVERY second!

Through Hot Rods and Hot Rides, we were able to keep up with the latest and greatest news with the Powertools crew, and Screwed picks up with Joe struggling with missing his family by blood and balancing his family by choice. He wants to be closer in proximity to his uncle and cousin, but he doesn’t want to miss out on anything that’s happening with the Powertools crew. Doesn’t want to mess up the amazing life he already has. But he knows something is missing. And he needs the support from his Powertools family to make it happen.

I adore the love and connection between the entire Powertools crew. How they know when to push one of them to share what’s going on in their heart and mind. And of course that pushing involves some creative hot and sexy times. But that they always have each other’s backs. And that the love between them won’t change with a little time and distance. ~ Missy, 5 stars

I was so excited to have the original Powertools back. But I was left a little disappointed. The story line had a lot of possibilities and I felt like ninety percent of the book was nothing but sex. I would have loved to hear more about the kids, what’s been going on in everyone’s life and I felt that all that I got was business as usual. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed what I read and look forward to where the story is going (there are more books to the series) and hope that the characters and what they are thinking is a little more detailed.

Joe is going through a mid-life crisis that has him considering moving to closer to his family and giving up all that he loves. Morgan, of course, will support him. All he needs is the understanding of the crew and he’s not sure he will get that. So, their way of showing their support is a “party”.

I’m still not completely sure the reasons why Joe wants to move other than his uncle is getting older. I didn’t understand his way of thinking. Why would he give up everything that he and Morgan worked so hard for? Why would you tear the children away from a life and friends that they have known all their lives? To give them a puppy? I just didn’t understand it. And, why didn’t the crew talk things through with him, give their input on the pros and cons of moving away? They were always there for each other, why not now?

Maybe the rest of the books will shed some light on how they are all thinking and why. I could only hope that their true feelings and thoughts will come out instead of just having a party to show their love. Talk it out boys and girls … get to the root of what is really happening … be honest with your feelings. That’s what I was hoping for throughout the whole story.

***4 Stars***

This was a quick and emotional read, it was also smexy as all get out but, man, did this one pull at my heartstrings to the point that I actually got a bit teary and sniffly ~ which was not expected in any way.

My heart hurt for Joe being pulled in two different directions where his heart was concerned, but I really liked how, once he opened up to Morgan and the Crew about what was going on in his head, everyone rallied around him even as their own worlds were shifting sideways.

I have to say, for being a novella this baby packed a punch in every way and while it doesn’t end on an “OMG” style cliffhanger, there is much more to come for Joe, Morgan, their family and the crew and how this one decision will end up affecting everyone and I can’t wait to see how it all plays out.

Note: I haven’t read Joe and Morgan’s book, but I have read quite a few of the others in this world at large (a couple of the Powertools and all of the Hot Rides), so while I didn’t recongnize some of the characters, it didn’t take away from the emotional impact of what they were all going through. So, if you are a newbie to this world and want to dive in here, you may feel overwhelmed, but I think it will only make you want to read all the other books in order to catch up.

Screwed is the first book in the ‘Powertools: The Original Crew Returns’ series written by author Jayne Rylon.  This story is an extension of the author’s Powertools, Hot Rods, and Hot Rides series, but it can be read as a standalone romance.  Although, if you’re like me and enjoy knowing all of the backstories, I recommend reading the other books before reading Screwed. Just know that it’s just a suggestion.

Joe has been traveling to his Uncle Tom’s and cousin Eli’s a lot lately. As time has gone by, he's felt more and more torn. Joe loves his family, which includes all of the Powertools gang. But he can’t let go of his desire to be closer to Uncle Tom and Eli. His wife, Morgan, has noticed the change in Joe, and she’s been thinking the worse. After confronting Joe, they talk everything out. Now, he just needs to confront his Powertool’s family and inform them of their decision.

The only problem is how to tell them, and what will they say?

Now for something a bit different.

Powertools have all gotten their HEA but what happens when one has a "middle-life crisis"/wants to be in two places at once? One place at home with the Powertools Crew and another place with his cousin Eli and his uncle Tom of the Hot Rides and the crew of Hot Rods....how to choose. Well, we find out in this series.

It was a delight to see how the Powertools Crew is doing after a few years - See how they have continued to be a crew...some very hot times with the 9 of them & when just the 5 of them.

Another wonderful read!

I’m thrilled to see the original Powertools crew back again in Jayne Rylon’s newest book, Screwed and she did a fantastic job as always. It felt like I was coming home again and I didn’t want that feeling to end. Joe and Morgan have always been one of my favorite Powertools couple so I was so happy the first book in this new series centered around them. The author did a great job showcasing Joe’s internal struggle between being with his family of friends and the opportunity of living closer to his Uncle Tom and cousin, Eli and how he and Morgan came together as a team to figure things out. It was nice to see the Hot Rod and Hot Rides crew again too. As always, it wouldn’t be a Powertools story without the super hot sexy times that only this author knows how to do so well. I’m really excited to read all the books in this new series.

Let me start out by saying that Jayne Rylon gets better with each book! Her stories are always jam packed with heat, with chemistry, with love, with one heck of an emotional rollercoaster ride of a journey, and so much more. In Screwed, we get to go back to the original Powertools Crew, and it was so amazing to spend time with them on the page! I adored seeing how they're still the same amazing group of people that love and support one another, having aged like a fine wine. This story focused mainly on Joe and Morgan, but each and every member of the Powertools Crew was highlighted and honored, and the glimpses we got of the Hot Rods Crew made this story extra special.
Joe loves his wife, his children, his friends, and his family. And yet, he can't help but feel like he's being pulled in two different directions, and he has no clue which way is up. He needs Morgan to be his true north, and needs the love, support, and advice from his family and his friends. His cousin and uncle, and his chosen family, the friend and work crew that has meant everything to him forever.
Morgan can see the struggle her husband is undergoing and just wants to love him, to support him, to be there for him as much as he is for her.
Fret not, though there is a lot of emotion that will threaten to have you shed a tear or two, it is done in the most beautiful way, and the shmekshay times are as on point as ever, definitely steaming up the pages of my Kindle!
If you love Jayne's work, the honesty, the honor, the friendship, the fire, the feistiness, but most importantly, the love, then you will adore Screwed, and I cannot wait for you to pick it up and enjoy it as much as I did! Be forewarned, a tall, cool glass of ice water is a recommended reading companion!

This story has so much passionate and sensual writing. Screwed is highly addictive, insanely sexy, and extremely poignant! I LOVED every single minute of it. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I devoured it in no time, and it left me in a great big puddle of emotions.
I am so grateful that Jayne has revisited the Powertools crew and intertwined them with the Hot Rods and Hot Rides crews. It really is like catching up with your best friends and finding out what has been happening in their lives.
Another massive positive for me is that the Powertools crew are now into an older age bracket where different life happenings occur. I found it fascinating to see where Joe and Morgan were heading and the impact their decisions had in their own relationship as well as the impact it had on their children, extended family and the crews. This gives so much credibility, relatability and authenticity.
Jayne Rylon is an author who continuously pours her heart and soul into her books and her readers feel that in every single page. I can't wait to dive back into another beautiful world that Ms. Rylon creates in this series. Very wonderfully done and bring on Drilled!

Screwed is the first book in the ‘Powertools: The Original Crew Returns series.

Joe is struggling with a decision: should he, Morgan, and their kids stay with his family of friends or take advantage of the opportunity to live closer to his Uncle Tom and cousin Eli. I could really feel Joe’s pain. He and Morgan have a good life and are surrounded by good people who help to make their lives complete. Joe feels really torn - should he leave his “found” family or move closer to the blood relatives that he misses so terribly? It’s not until he shares his struggle with Morgan that he comes to a short-term solution of sorts. His Powertools family has mixed emotions about the decision, but ultimately support Joe and Morgan.

The scenes between Joe and Morgan and the ones between the couple and the Powertools crew are sexy and emotional.

It was great spending time with the Powertools crew and the Hot Rods and Hot Rides crews. There is a great set-up for the subsequent books in this series.

Jayne Rylon did a great job with this quick, sexy read. I felt all the emotions that Joe was wrestling with, and I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series!

I sometimes feel like a broken record when reviewing Jayne Rylon's work BUT it bears repeating. NOBODY WRITES POLYAMOROUS LIKE JAYNE RYLON!

In Screwed, we go back to where it all began and revisit old friends from the Powertools crew. They say that art imitates life and that is definitely highlighted here. As we are faced with new challenges in life, we develop and grow and sometimes have to make hard decisions.

Making decisions that affect not just you, but your family and lovers are the hardest to make and Joe struggles greatly with this dilemma.

Be rest assured though, this is just the start of an exciting new chapter in Joe and Morgan's life. Who knows where subsequent additions to this well loved series will take us?

As you would expect, some of the scenes in this book are true to the polyamorous style that this author writes so well. So be sure to have a fan to cool you down, and if you're so inclined, a cigarette because this is 'smokin!'

This time though, you will also need some tissues as you are taken through a whole new set of emotions as this 'crew' family make decisions that will impact their lives and their loves!

This is the first book in her new Powertools: The Original Crew Returns series. Joe has a problem. He has everything that he wants but he misses being with his Uncle Tom and especially his cousin, Eli. He wants to stay with the original group that we met In the Powertools series, but he wants his blood family and the Hot Rods and the Hot Rides crew, too. Now he must decide what’s best for himself, Morgan and the kids. He has other thoughts, too, that I hope comes true in the end. This would be a hard decision for anyone, and I was so proud of him once he finally talked with his friends. Now that was one exciting talk that he had, too. I’m going to be honest and say that if you aren’t into sharing hot sex, then this isn’t the book for you. But you will be missing a really great book. I love the original crew and this book just makes you happy that they are back! I can’t wait to read more about the crew in the next book.

Joe has a great life, a loving family, co-workers who are not only his best friends but are also his lovers, but he's missing his family two states away. Joe is torn and feels he's betraying his friends for wanting to be with his family and the Hot Rods and the Hot Rides gang.

While there's a lot of steamy, hot sex as these friends share their bodies, they also show how much they love each other in their open sexuality and acceptance of each other.

The love really shines through as Joe and Morgan navigate their decision on whether to move their family. It's good to have so many people to love and support you.

This polyamorous love story began with the original Powertools series and I loved seeing everyone again. Mike, Kate, Dave, Joe, Morgan, Kayla, Neil, James and Devon set the sheets on fire and hold nothing back in this return of the original crew.

Screwed is the start of a a second series based on the original Powertools team (and spouses). I do recommend starting with the original series of seven books that starts with Kate's Crew.

Joe is having a dilemma. His family of choice, who has been there for him and supported him through thick and thin, is where he, his wife and their two kids live. His family by blood is two states away. He has been going more often and for longer stays to be with his cousin Eli, his Uncle Tom and his new Aunt by marriage. He feels more and more of a pull to want to be near his family while his kids grow up but before they get old enough a move is hard on friendships.

Joe and Morgan have some heart to heart talks about their needs as a couple, as a family, and with the Powertools family, Hot Rods family run by Eli and the Hot Rides family. I won't give away their decisions or the outcome as that is part of the fun and heartstrings tug of this book. Enjoy!

We all know that the Powertools crew all got their HEA. We have seen small glimpses of them in the Hot Rods/Hot Rides series, but in this new series we get to see more of them and how they are doing all these years later. Joe is the link between the two series as Eli is his cousin and in this new series we see the struggle Joe is having between wanting to be with his Powertools family and his blood family. They are both equally important to him and he is truly struggling on what is the right decision for himself, Morgan, their kids and both his extended families. While the Powertools crew show their love for each other through the hot & sexy times we have come to expect from them they also show that they are in fact a family in the way the support Joe and Morgan through this tough time. I cannot wait to see how this series unfolds.

This book is about Joe a member of the Powertools crew. He's split in between two worlds the one with the crew and the one with his cousin Eli and the Hot Rods/Hot Rides group. Where is home? Can Joe, Morgan and the crew figure out what their future looks like and how to keep them together?

This book made me happy and sad. Happy because I get to see my favorite crew but also sad because things might not stay the same as we've known it. I love that Joe is the emotional one of the groups I think he's had the most growth and upheaval in his life. I love that we get to see all the crew's kids. I love Nathan and Abby and look forward to possible future book about their relationship. I loved that the crew loves like they always have and they stand by each other even if it means losing a member for a little while maybe even forever. I really hope that Joe would have asked the crew to move to Middleton with then but maybe that's just wishful thinking. I love that Morgan is supportive of her husband and sees the pros of moving out to be near his family. I loved that we got to see more of the Hot Rods/Hot Rides group and how they are evolving as people and groups. I loved all the kids sooo cute! I just really love anything Powertools/Hot Rods/Hot Rides it's impossible not to with the way they give unconditional love and affection for everyone around them. I'm anxious to find out how the story progresses and if the Powertools will ever be back together again.

Holy Hell! I have read all of the "Four" books and was excited to start a new series. I am new to the Power tools and The Hot Rods, so this was a great read for me to get started getting to know them.
If I was going through a mid life crisis, this is definitely a way to go LOL!
Joe and Morgan are an amazing couple with great kids. So leaving their Power Tool family and Joe's crew to start a fresh new beginning is killing them. But they are also looking foward to being with Joe's actual family the Hot Rods.
In true Jayne fashion, she writes polyamorous relationships that will put your panties on fire!!!!
Get yourself a fan and a really cold drink because this book is HOT HOT HOT!!!!!!!!

In the new series from Jayne Rylon, we are reunited with old friends from the Powertools crew with a sprinkling of Hot Rods for good measure. What stood out for me reading this is that it was more about the emotions behind the the poly-relationship than the physical connections. This time it is Joe who’s heart is split between the life with Morgan, their kids and the crew and his uncle, cousin and family so far away. It is heartbreaking when a character is pulled in both directions that they need help from those closest to them to see where their future lies. Read Screwed if you want to see if the crews relationship is strong enough they can let one of their own go, to build a life that includes everyone they love.

I was thrilled to hear there would be a new series bringing the focus back on the Powertool crew. I love seeing the crew back again and seeing how they have grown and changed. I knew there would be conflict in this new chapter but it still surprised me. Joe has had the best life with his wife, kids and the crew but his restlessness of not being with his cousin Eli and Uncle Tom is making him feel conflicted. Watching Joe's and Morgan's struggle is hard but you see their strength as a couple. What do they decide? Is their decision the best? We will have to wait and see. I am now dying for the next book Drilled to be released ASAP. Please don't make me wait to long!

Nothing says crisis like feeling alone in the midst of a crew. For Joe, his wife, his family, his friends all are essential to his happiness. But a niggling feeling persists that he is missing a vital part of himself. While he is a little more wise in his older years, the passion hasn't faded, nor has the dynamics of his swinging group. So just how is he to address the fact that his need for something more is weighing him down? The original crew returns in this new story, but if you are like me, and haven't read the previous stories, the plot is more than easy enough to follow. However, if you are like me, you will definitely go back and pick up the original Powertools stories.

I thought that this was an excellent read with an intriguing story to tell. This book takes familiar readers back to where things started but also serves as a wonderful jumping in point for new readers to the author or The Powertools series. It was great to see Joe and Morgan again and get to delve back into their life. Is this book filled with heat and steam? It sure is! But it also tells a story that I think will be very realistic and relatable to many, many readers. I think many people have felt happy but still somehow dissatisfied and/or felt they had it all but still craved something more. This is my frank, freely posted review.

Although this is a stand alone novel, I recommend you pick up the original Powertools Series to read so you get the full impact of the intensity of this book! The crew has been together over a decade, as best friends, coworkers and lovers. Ms. Rylon has the ability to write a large group ménage with such emotion and passion that you feel as though you can get inside each character’s head and heart. This first book in this brand new series will have the reader experiencing a full range of feelings that in the end will give you an ending (no cliffhanger) that will continue to be build upon with future books.

What defines family? And when you have family by blood and by choice, how do you choose where your heart should lie? Joe is restless. He so wants to be closer to his cousin and uncle but cant seem to justify leaving the life he and his wife have established with his crew. The opportunity that he may have in building his own career nearer his family may be too good to ignore. I loved this original series long ago and loved seeing these characters reoccur in other books. Im so happy that Ms. Rylon decided to come back to them. The family of choice is one to be not taken lightly. Joe has steong feelings for them and his desicion is not an easy one. But the crew understands better then Joe could have hoped. I love the dynamics of this group and what their friendships mean to each other. Cannot wait foe the next one!

Joe is struggling. He needs more than he currently has. But can he find the courage to ask for what he needs?
This is a sort of spinoff to Jayne Rylon's Powertools series. It shows a growth thatis necessary even as it is painful. I enjoyed seeing the bonds between the powertools gang stretch to accommodate Joe's new needs. But can Joe strp into an unknown future? Seeing him find a way to communicate his desires as well as the support he gets is well articulated by Ms. Rylon. I could feel his angst even as he struggled. I am looking forward to where Ms. Rylon will take us as she explores the changes coming into Joe's world.

Screwed is the first book in a new series in which the original Powertools gang returns with the story line that Joe wanting to move to Middletown to be closer to his Uncle Tom and cousin Eli and the Hot Rods and Hot Rides gang. He is torn because and Morgan are in an active polyamorous relationship with the Powertools gang and a move would upset the relationship and possibly leave them without an important part of their lifestyle. Added to all the emotional questions Morgan and Joe’s two children are getting older on the verge of being teenagers and the apartment over Morgan’s bakery is too small for their needs.

It was so good to reconnect with the Powertools gang. Joe is at a crossroads, he loves his current life living within reach of his family, however, his blood family is calling out to him, he is missing out on so much with them.

The gang sets him to rights and lets him know, as only the gang can, how much they love him and Morgan and will always be a part of them.

Jayne did an amazing job with the characters, their friendship, their acceptance of each other and most of all the love they all feel. Get ready for some hot, hot interactions between them!

It was nice to rejoin the original Powertools gang, and their outrageous orgies. I didn't like where some of the other spin-offs were headed, but this one was good.

The crew is all older, and while they are still horny as ever, their needs are changing and with that comes challenges and tension. This was a good exploration of a mature couple weighing their options and deciding to take a chance on something new. There wasn't too much angst, but there were some mixed emotions. The ending was solid, but I don't know where this series is heading. I will probably read the next one, in hopes that it stays focused on the core group.

First and foremost the crew is back together. But who knows for how long??? Many things happen, as such as in life, it's about the choices that we must make. Some happy, some emotional, some make others miss out. This has all of those emotions as well as some HOT scenes. What would one of Jayne's books be like without her hot scenes. Especially when you mix 5 guys and 4 women who aren't afraid to come together for their mutual pleasure. I can't wait for the next book. It's great to see the crew, the hot rods and hot rides all together again.

Screwed no matter how you look at it

We have head back to the original crew to see how they are doing. Looks like a Joe is caught between a rock and a hard place. He wants to be closer to his Uncle and his cousin Eli. They live two states away from the crew. Joe wants to help them out with building them a new place, but that would mean leaving the crew. He doesn’t know what to do. Is there some way to have both? Will he take the opportunity to run his own construction crew? Come on in and let’s find out.
