An excellent and comprehensive primer on a food plant that has wide-ranging medicinal properties. As a garlic aficionado and grower for many years, I still learned a lot from this book about its health benefits, both preventative and curative, and how to use it medicinally. It shares many of these qualities with other alliums, like leeks. Knowing how to use this plant for one's health and nourishment, enriches one's life. Paul Bergner has aptly described its healing powers for specific diseases and its worldwide use in folk medicine.
