A product of Small Town, California, Alex Gates is a loving husband, skilled educator, true Gryffindor, dragon-slayer, wizard of the highest order, defender of the realm, Cowboys fan, and connoisseur of cheap beer. Getting to the hard core stuff. I don't like Cliffhangers. But I can see were they could be a necessity. The story is getting scarier all the time. Joseph's mouth is getting worse. The intensity is getting to be astronomical. Joseph's core has changed some after his wife's death but I wounder if that is what God wanted? A lot going on behind the story. Well we will just have to see what happens. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Shadow Magic by Alex C. Gates is an amazing story that I have read. This is book number three in this amazing series that I have loved reading very much and can not wait to see what this author will write next. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about fantasy.

I really love this series! It's so different and refreshing from others! Even though the characters are a lot less than loveable, I found myself rooting for them and loving them anyway! Naturally, I want to read more! More! More! Please!

I love a great snarky antihero. The characters in this series are so well developed and the world-building is superb. Each book can be read as a stand-alone but, the series as a whole is a great arc. One of the things I enjoyed most was the breaking of the fourth wall as our main character talks to the reader.
The story line and character work were great. The book had a good flow to it. This was another great addition to the series and I was hooked from beginning to end.

I love the spin on the whole supernatural mythos from all the different cultures. And as with my reviews of the previous books in this series - the level of sarcasm and snark and how it's blended into the dialogue is masterfully done!! I loved it.
Wasn't sure I could cope with the main character Joey but I'm Loving the series, action, humour, lots of bitchy and sarcastic comments but got some great characters I can get involved with. Glad I persevered
