Don't Fart In The Pool!

Rate this book
A small mistake could potentially haunt you for years to come, and one little ‘slip’ could be what haunts Stan for the rest of his life!
It may have started with an epic taco fiesta to end all taco fiestas but ended with the mother of all disasters for young Stanley. What should have been an uneventful swim at the local swimming pool quickly turned into a world-class environmental disaster!

This beautifully illustrated children’s book highlights the risks of and dangers associated with ‘farting’ in the pool. Read along as one small mistake changes Stan’s life forever, and the consequences of following through are made plain to see by all!

Author Ben Jackson – We’ve all been there. It’s a tremendously fine line between stealthy and squelchy. It’s easy to make mistakes in life, and one of the best things about silly mistakes is being able to look back and laugh about it. This book is in no way based on any real events or people – I promise!

If you love reading and laughing along with your children, then you’ll love Don’t Fart In The Pool! The perfect book for the fart enthusiast in your life!

A warning reminds Stan of the most cringe-worthy event in his life. Stan’s family is at the pool. Stan’s about to get into the pool when his father yells at him to not fart in the pool. Memories flood Stan as he remembers what happened before. Sure, he ate his weight in tacos but what happened next will haunt Stan forever. Can he go swimming without farting? Can Stan learn from his mistake, or will he never be able to swim again?

Don’t Fart in the Pool is a funny look at a serious issue for kids. We’ve all done it and suffered the embarrassment. Ben and Sam use kid-friendly language to tell this humorous story. Kids make mistakes but if they can learn from it and laugh about it later, lesson learned. I really enjoyed this book, especially the illustrations. Colorful, expressive, and kid-friendly, the illustrations pair perfectly with the story. The humor is also kid-approved and lends to kids relating to the story. A great book for the whole family to enjoy. Highly recommend!

Don't Fart in the Pool is a story to be read simply for the laugh-out-loud fun of it.

I'm not a big fan of 'fart' books but I know they are hugely popular with children and a vast array of titles can be found in any bookstore.

Jay actually thought this story was hilarious, as I'm sure any six-year-old would.

Stan has a habit of farting in the pool when out swimming - splash around a bit and no-one will notice the bubbles.
Only this time, after a big night of tacos, Stan was at the local pool and his stomach was gurgling and grumbling and, well, it wasn't a fart that ensued.

This is a lighthearted fun story with bright full spread illustrations and large print to encourage self reading.
There is a fun suspenseful build up to the big embarrassing moment and even when you know what is going to happen next it's still quite funny to turn the page to see the big brown stain spreading across the pool.

Moral of the story: Never trust a fart!

Hilarious story about the consequences of Taco Tuesday and eating too many delicious tacos. Stan is a stealthy master at certain body functions until one fateful day in the pool turns into a cautionary tale of not taking those things for granted.
A quick and entertaining read, I'm sure many can relate to.

To squeeze or not to squeeze… that is the question!

More often than not children relate themselves with the characters of a good story. In such circumstances, reading fiction can help them to get inspiration from the characters. These stories often portray real life implications through anecdotes, and as such makes it easier for them to understand the complex aspects of life. Moreover, reading these stories at regular intervals can actually help them to develop a positive outlook towards life, which eventually proves beneficial for good character development.

Don't Fart In The Pool is another delightful book by Sam Lawrence and Ben Jackson that young children will get a lot of fun out of. I read it with my grand-kids and we laughed out loud while reading it! They loved not only this funny story, but also the amazing illustrations by Tanya Zeinalova. I thought the text and illustrations worked very well together.

The book description gives a sneak preview: ‘A small mistake could potentially haunt you for years to come, and one little ‘slip’ could be what haunts Stan for the rest of his life! It may have started with an epic taco fiesta to end all taco fiestas but ended with the mother of all disasters for young Stanley. What should have been an uneventful swim at the local swimming pool quickly turned into a world-class environmental disaster!’

Sam and Ben write in a wonderfully simple and imaginative style that will guarantee the attention of young minds. If you ever wanted to bond even more with your children or grandchildren, this would be a lovely story to share with them.

It seems to me that this book was created with a lot of love and joy and it’s clear that the authors really enjoy creating such wonderful stories. Thank you for sharing with us the gift that you have obviously worked so hard to refine. We’ll be looking forward to seeing what’s coming next. A well-deserved five stars from us!

Don’t Fart in the Pool is a simple, funny and entertaining book (if not somewhat gross) that children will love. Whilst this book isn’t on the most pleasant of subjects, it is a subject that I guarantee most children (and many adult readers) will have a good belly-chuckle over.

This is an excellent book for getting children to pick up and read a book. It even does a great job of building up the tension before it EXPLODES into action.

A laugh out loud tale of caution.

Thank you to the publisher for an advanced ARC.

My 6 year old boy absolutely loved this book. Whilst slightly gross in places, the humour of the book really appeals to little ones and a great way to encourage boys to read. My boy could not stop laughing his little head off.

The book was perfectly illustrated; bright, colourful and engaging. I particularly liked how the words were highlighted in various colours.

Don't Fart in the Pool by Ben Jackson is a delightful children's book. It's just gross enough for kids to love it and hilarious enough for the entire family to enjoy.

The illustrations are colorful and eye-catching. The story captivates with the tale of what happens when you mix Taco Tuesday with an outing to the public pool. You know the results will be funny and unforgettable.

I love the author's style and will be reading and recommending many more of his books.

It seems that I should have reviewed this on taco Tuesday because that is where all the trouble began in this book. I mean, who doesn't like taco Tuesday? That is unless it is Wednesday and you have now done what Stan, the main character, has done! The title of the book gives a huge hint.

Being a former teacher, farts in the classroom or inevitable and kids tend to giggle (and sometimes teachers too). Usually, it "passes" and life goes on but as I read about Stan, I felt sorry for this kid. I mean there is no giggle here. We all get embarrassed of course, but poor Stan...well, he has to live with it forever!

Such a cute book to illustrate something that happens and the embarrassment that can follow.

The illustrations were minimum for what is meant to be a picture book and not a wow factor at all. However, for young readers the sentences are complex and of course, quite funny. The story itself gets a high five.

Disclosure: I received a copy of this book from the author. The views here are 100% my own and may differ from yours. ~Michelle, Reading Authors Network

I'm not going to say this one is particularly full of depth or greater meaning, but it was a huge hit with my five-year-old simply because it discusses the dangers of taco Tuesday and farting in the pool. And yes, that consequence is exactly what you think it is.
